December 2020 Clan Wars Requirements

It’s almost December! You’ll find all the latest details to our clan requirements and rewards in the clan section of our app. This month the most noticeable change is we’ve removed the individual QRewZee captures, however this means we have increased the number needed for clan totals. This is only planned for the month of December, with individual caps returning in 2021. To help with these increased numbers we will add new types to the QRewZee pool to appear on December 3rd.

It is possible that we could update clan requirements prior to December 3 and reserve the right to do so. The final requirements and rewards will always be shown in the app. All of this is up in the air based on how situations continue to change worldwide based on COVID-19.

A Challenger to Cyborg Santa Has Appeared + Cyber Munzday Info!

As we mentioned in our posts yesterday on social media, we’re still enjoying a break from our usual duties today (hopefully you are too) — so this is some pre-scheduled programming! If you’re jealous of Holiday Card Collectors Club members because of the super-cool Cyborg Santa, but aren’t ready for the commitment, or if you just enjoy collecting robot toys, we’ve got an option for you! We’ve also got some info on the promotions we’re planning for Cyber Munzday, so make sure to read all the way to the end!

Cybersaurus Rex

Our solution to deliver Christmas presents in a contactless manner all around the world was a good one — build an army of Cyborg Santas! But an enterprising elf — who may or may not have marathoned the entire Jurassic Park film franchise — applied the same technology to some T-rex prototypes, not knowing that part of their AI had already been programmed to mimic real T-rex behaviors! If you’d like to take a Cybersaurus Rex off our hands, it is available at the Freeze Tag Online Store as an individual product!

This new temporary POB (tPOB) will be available for purchase for $5 ONLY on Monday Nov 30th — Cyber Munzday! These are limited to 1 per player.

Like the Cyborg Santa, the Cybersaurus Rex is a temporary POB. It will bounce to both physical and virtual munzees. It will stay on the map until 23:59 MHQ on December 31, when it will be automatically archived on your account. If you’ve ever deployed a Butterfly or Frog Evolution munzee, these will behave similarly with a few exceptions.

  • Deploy: 750 points
  • Capture: 300 points
  • CapOn: 150 points

This fierce foe is ready to fight! He loves the sound of wrapping paper being ripped up and tearing silky gift ribbons to shreds! Stop the Cybersaurus Rex in his tracks at the following munzee types:

The Cybersaurus Rex will be available for multi-capture. That means players can capture a Cybersaurus Rex on their own munzees, any previously captured munzees, and more than once if the same Cybersaurus Rex visits you. However, Cybersaurus Rexes are non-blastable. They will be attracted to either Physical Magnets or Virtual Magnets on their respective landing pads. You can access Cybersaurus Rexes under the “All Limited Edition Specials” and “All Expiring Specials” filters.

Badges

All players who purchase a Cybersaurus Rex will also receive the respective deploy badge shown below:

We hope you enjoy this newest invention from the MHQ Workshop!

Cyber Munzday

As noted above, the Cybersaurus Rex tPOB will be available starting at 00:01 MHQ on Nov 30th, which is Cyber Munzday!

We’ve also got 2 other promotions you may be interested in:

If you enjoy the physical game, you can save 20% on any generic stickers in this collection: https://store.freezetag.com/collections/generic-stickers. Please note that the sale starts on Cyber Munzday, NOT today.

If you enjoy expressing your love of Munzee via fashion, you can get 500 Free Zeds with Apparel Purchases from this collection: https://store.freezetag.com/collections/apparel. Please note that you MUST add the Zeds to cart for them to be awarded.

November 2020 GOTM Winners + December POTM Requirements!

This month has been a bit all over the place, but as it’s sandwiched between Halloween and Christmas, perhaps November was doomed from the start to be a strange transitional period.

For those looking forward to Christmas, we started off strong with the MunzPaks, which include the very popular Christmas Critters! We also featured a past Christmas Event in an amazingly detailed Event Spotlight by denali0407! Lastly, we released the Holiday Card Collectors Club, which seems to be well-received so far! We have some more things related to Christmas in the works, so be on the lookout!

For those who wish it was still Halloween, we released the popular Kill Them With Kindness Greeting Card and had a double points day to go along with it!

As for non-holiday related updates, we announced the results of our Zeecret Agent Competition, released 3 more nomads, and a much-requested new Places munzee, the Drink Depot!

We are now happy to announce the winners of the November Garden of the Month (GOTM), give a reminder for November Player of the Month (POTM), and announce the criteria for December POTM! The badges for November GOTM and POTM will be awarded in early December, but we couldn’t wait to share the winners we’ve chosen!

November GOTM

As mentioned above, we’re caught between Halloween and Christmas, so the first garden we chose reflects this split. The second garden was chosen as it looks like the perfect Christmas gift for a young child! Remember that all winning GOTM organizers and all players who deployed in the winning gardens will be awarded special badges for their contribution to growing the map. This month we’re happy to award the Claire’s Candy Canes Garden, designed by Jeffeth, and the Teddy Bear Garden, designed by CoalCracker7, as our winning November GOTM! The gardens will appear as follows:

Claire’s Candy Canes by Jeffeth in Ontario, Canada

We love the way Jeffeth expanded on the idea of Candy Cane gardens into other special days! Don’t forget that you can get a slightly larger Candy Cane garden deployed at your Christmas Event: https://munzeeblog.com/get-your-christmas-greetings-done-early-with-this-new-card/

Jeffeth shared his thoughts behind the design:

A garden made for my wife, who always enjoys getting into the Christmas spirit early. 🙂

It was designed specifically as a November garden. The first candy cane represents veterans day/remembrance day held in November, the second has a lot of orange in reminder of Halloween which just passed, and the third shows the original candy cane and Christmas that is coming.

Also, such a unique use of a variety of different munzees showing there are so many ways to make the same thing.

Teddy Bear Garden by CoalCracker7 in Gettysburg, PA

What an adorable way to celebrate the birth of a new baby!

This garden was created for this year’s Teddy Bear’s Picnic event! The tummy was colored blue to celebrate the birth of former staff member Daniel Hammock’s son.

All players who deployed in the respective winning gardens will receive the following special badges:

Rules for GOTM nominations:

  1. Garden must feature non-licensed character designs.
  2. The garden must feature a Garden Places Pin.
  3. The garden must be built using a publicly available spreadsheet which we will ask to be locked after being 100% deployed.
  4. We’re asking for ongoing nominations and we will release the winners throughout the year.

Send your nomination for GOTM to iloveyou@munzee.com! Keep in mind that we take all former nominations into consideration for upcoming months. Just be sure your garden follows the nomination rules in order to be considered eligible!

If you need help deploying in a Virtual Garden, you can check out this step-by-step tutorial that will making deploying in a garden easy no matter how long you’ve been playing. To fill in the gardens, make sure to stock up on Virtuals and Color Credits from the Freeze Tag Online Store.

November POTM

November’s POTM requires the completion of 20 Daily ZeeOps Missions within the month. There’s still a bit of time left to earn this badge, so don’t fret if you are close!

Thank you for trying out the new Daily ZeeOps! You can expect to see the badge in early December. If you weren’t able to meet the requirements this time, maybe this coming month’s POTM will work out better for you. Keep reading to find out!

We hope you enjoy what the updated ZeeOps program has to offer! To keep things fresh we’re planning to change up the missions and rewards in the future, so be on the lookout!

December POTM Requirements

This month’s POTM requirement was suggested by a player, and we thought it would be a great fit for the season of giving. We want to hear about Munzee acts of kindness! For December Player Of The Month we want you to send in stories about times your faith in humanity was restored (or perhaps you were the restorer of faith to someone else!) while playing Munzee. We know our player community is full of great people, so we’re expecting to receive a lot of submissions! Please send your stories to the Google Form at this link: https://forms.gle/JqF1LPaft6G6yeBAA

As in the previous months, this unique POTM badge is eligible for any player to earn regardless of previous wins. The badge will appear as follows:

We hope you’re excited for what December has in store!

Welcome Walla EggZ – Suitable For Children of All Ages!

Last week we announced our special Holiday Card Collectors Club, and we’re happy to see many of you have joined! We’re looking forward to seeing a lot of Greeting Cards and Cyborg Santas on the map for everyone to cap (there’s still a lot of time to join). But that’s not the only thing we have planned for December! Starting at 12:00 MHQ on November 24th, Walla EggZ will bounce around the map until 23:59 MHQ on December 15th.

A total of 798 Walla EggZ specials will be unleashed! That breaks down into 399 virtual Walla Joy Eggs and 399 physical Walla Surprise Eggs. Though there will only be one icon for each type shown on the map, there are a possibility of 8 different icons that will not be visible until captured, similar to how the Greeting Cards work. Also similar to our World Laughter Day specials earlier this year! They will bounce around every 4 hours or when capped.

Each of the 8 icons will correspond to a different fun-sized toy or candy! Will you be able to collect them all?

You can find these treasure-filled treats bouncing to the following:

Points

  • Capture: 78 points
  • CapOn: 39 points

Walla Joy Eggs will be attracted to Virtual Magnets, while Walla Surprise Eggs will be attracted to Physical Magnets. To access these specials, please turn on your “All Expiring Specials” and “All Limited Edition Specials” filters.

Badges

There is also a line featuring 5 new badges to earn. 3 are based off overall captures of Walla EggZ specials; the remaining 2 are based off capturing certain fillings. The first badge in the series appears as follows:

Box O’ Walla Eggz- Capture 1 Walla EggZ special.

It’s up to you to figure out the exact requirements for the remaining 4 badges! Cap as many of these specials as you can to set yourself up for success!

At the Start of Any Physical Activity, Make Time For December 2020’s Resolution!

Ever woke up late and sprinted to school or work, making it just on time? Or saw a little kid fall into the deep end of a pool and dove quickly to save them? While the adrenaline pumping through your veins allows you to act in the moment, we bet you’ll be suffering from some soreness the next day! That’s why it’s important to devote some time to this month’s resolution, which will help you ease into your exercises and reduce discomfort.

As we announced in our January Resolutions blog, we will be launching monthly Capture Streak Badges centered on a year of being active. Each month’s badge will be dedicated to practicing a different exercise. Similar to how our Super Streak badges operate, you will be awarded a badge if you capture at least one munzee* each day for the entire month. This month’s badge may be tricky to get, but we believe in you!

Each month’s badge will be themed around the particular resolution goal. For December, we’re putting the focus on Dynamic Stretching! You may be thinking — the opposite of “dynamic” is “static”, so is there also “static stretching”? If so, what’s the difference? The answer is, yes, there is both “dynamic” and “static” stretching, and the difference is pretty intuitive. Keep reading to find out!

So what is dynamic stretching and what is static stretching?

Dynamic stretching is the kind of stretching you should be doing as a warm-up at the start of a workout or other physical activity. According to Healthline.com, “Dynamic stretches can be functional and mimic the movement of the activity or sport you’re about to perform. For example, a swimmer may circle their arms before getting into the water.” Similarly, in the badge art above, the runners are making sure to carefully bend and stretch their arms and legs in a way similar to how they would be while running. To reiterate, dynamic stretching is preparing your body for a lot of movement by “pre-moving” it and giving it time to adjust.

As for static stretching, the goal is not preparing your body for movement — quite the opposite, as you’ve probably guessed. You are stretching, and then holding that stretch. This might sound great for those who are lazy exercisers, but don’t think you can get away with doing static stretching alone. Static stretching is actually only recommended AFTER warming up your body. This is because the increased circulation reduces tension in your muscles, allowing you to stretch more easily and lessening the risk of pulling a muscle or otherwise straining yourself. Once you’ve warmed up though, static stretching is a great way to increase your flexibility and cool down.

Before you attempt any exercise, it’s always a good idea to consult your doctor**. Good luck and Munzee on!

* In order to encourage active gameplay we will not count Social Munzees for these capture streaks. If you know you’ll be in an area without munzees, plan ahead!

** MUNZEE IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY EXERCISE-RELATED INJURIES

Treat Yourself With a Holiday Card Collectors Club Membership!

The week before Black Friday and Cyber Munzday is prime planning time for your upcoming present purchases, so we’re here to remind you to get something for yourself too! If you’re a fan of our Greeting Card munzees, we’ve got just the thing! We are excited to introduce the Holiday Card Collectors Club (HCCC), which you’re able to purchase starting NOW in the Freeze Tag Online Store!

Maybe you were preparing for another Advent Calendar? Well, this year, we’ll be sending goodies to you every day during the month of December! Why the name change? As this covers more than the traditional Advent period, we felt that the “Advent Calendar” name didn’t quite fit. In addition, also unlike Advent Calendars of the past (2018, 2019), Club members will receive virtual items only. While there’s no denying that getting something in your real-world mail is always special, we felt that this would be more appropriate given the current situation, and just a less stressful option for all involved — we don’t have to worry about shipping things out by a deadline, and you don’t have to worry about packages being stolen or being held up in customs!

Mail Call!

In an attempt to keep some of the magic, we’ve also created a totally new game piece to deliver Collectors Club items! The Holiday Mailbox Munzee is guaranteed to deliver this holiday season!

Sure, we could have just decided on adding things directly to your account on an automated schedule — but where’s the fun in that? We wanted to give you something to cap each day too (like the Skyland and Places munzees). When you deploy this new game piece nearby it will only be visible to AND cappable by you. To ensure that you are able to capture this new game piece each day, you’ll also be able to update its location if you’ll be traveling at any point during the month. We really don’t want you to miss out! It is very important you capture it each day during December.

It’s worth 100 deploy points!  When it comes to captures you’ll receive 10 points before December; mystery number of points during December. The mailbox can be captured up to 1000 feet away and is found under the Virtuals filter but ONLY visible to the OWNER. The holiday mailbox will be archived at the end of December or early January. THE HOLIDAY MAILBOX MUST BE DEPLOYED IN APP!

How the Holiday Mailbox Works:

Starting December 1st at 00:01 MHQ, each day you cap your Holiday Mailbox you will be awarded a different holiday themed Greeting Card capture, similar to the World Laughter Day specials. Please note that you’ll only be able to earn that specific card on that day, so you really don’t want to miss a day. Once you cap that card you’ll earn points, and depending on which tier of Club Membership you purchase you may also get some extra prizes!

There are 3 tiers of Club Membership you can purchase HERE:                                        You are only able to purchase ONE tier per player account.

  • Tier 1 “Capper” is available for $5 and includes the NEW Holiday Mailbox, which will deliver 31 Greeting Card munzees for you to capture.
  • Tier 2 “Giver” is available for $15 and includes everything in Tier 1 PLUS a matching Holiday Card each day for you to deploy, maybe near a friend? That’s 31 new cards to deploy on top of the 31 you can cap! You’ll also get some special bonuses scattered throughout the month, which could be double points days, exclusive specials or scatters to cap, credits or undeployed munzees, etc.
  • Tier 3 “Collector” is available for $25 and includes everything in Tier 2 PLUS all bonuses we have planned (some that Tier 2 will not have access to), AND a special Cyborg Santa temporary POB deployed from your account on December 1st! The bonus rewards will be well worth joining this tier over the previous two. We’ll release more details about Cyborg Santa closer to the launch date, so stay tuned!

Once you’ve decided on a Tier, you can purchase it in the FT Store! Please make absolutely sure you’re satisfied with the Tier you select before purchasing, as we may not be able to change it. You may only join one tier. You will still be able to purchase these Club Memberships into December, but you won’t be able to earn rewards from the days that have passed. We suggest purchasing your Club Membership as soon as possible to start learning the mysteries of the mailbox and prepare for December fun!

Join us in celebrating the entire month of December with 31 days of joyous surprises! Are you ready to join the Club?

Event Spotlight: Scrooged at Central Market

Earlier in the year we featured Primdahl’s Covid-19 Påske Special event, which had some great tips on how to plan and hold events in the current situation. Now that it’s been half a year since then, and the situation hasn’t really changed, we thought it would be a good idea to revisit those tips and also get some more! denali0407 has a wealth of information written for you here, so we greatly appreciate the time and effort she took to share! Also, don’t forget about the new Christmas Event Greeting Cards and Candy Cane Gardens we posted about last month, which might make setup a bit more convenient! And now, without further ado…

Today we’re featuring the Scrooged at Central Market event, which took place on December 6, 2018 at Fort Worth, TX and was hosted by denali0407, Roogles, Werewulf, and Brandikorte.

Give us a brief summary about your event!

“Scrooged at Central Market” was our Christmas 2018 event and featured one of my favorite badges ever (thanks, Trish!). Working within the madness of the Christmas season, this one was scheduled for a Thursday evening at a tried-and-true event site (where chocolate covered cherries can be found – and what event cannot be made better with chocolate covered cherries, I ask you?).

(Brief. You said brief, and I [mostly] delivered. Hallelujah!)

What tips do you have when hosting an awesome event?

Provide something for attendees to DO! Eventzee is ideal, especially when your clues tie into both the event site AND other attendees. Clues that entice players to interact with each other, and even to work together to figure out the necessary photos to stage, make it easy for people to get to better know their fellow players. Or to spend some silly time with the folks they already know and love. Either way works. The more outrageous the clues, the better the stories when people regroup!

Also provide fresh Munzees to cap. Virtual gardens work great, but it’s also a really good idea to blanket the area with physical Munzees when possible. If you place your event Munzees among the physical Munzees, the payoff for both attendees and deployers is even greater.

Plan early, when and if possible, and spread the word far and wide. Even tiny events can become the stuff of legend when you can manage to draw folks from all over the area. Catching up with seldom-seen faces is priceless. But those folks need advance notice, so do them a solid and give them an early heads-up.

Bear in mind the time of year and the likely weather you’ll face, and make necessary provisions. If it’s 7th level of hell hot, then water. And shade. And sunscreen. If it’s a blustery 42° (hey, that’s frigid for us here!), then move indoors. We typically like to have restaurants available, preferably with outside seating. (We liked to provide opportunities to social distance before it was The Thing To Do.) Corners and nooks and tables for two are an introvert’s dream. Adapt to the occasion and people will rise to that occasion!

What made your event unique?

This “Scrooged at Central Market” event all but created itself when a line from Dickens’ A Christmas Carol randomly came to mind: “If I could work my will, every idiot who goes around with ‘Merry Christmas’ on his lips, should be boiled with his own pudding, and buried with a stake of holly through his heart. He should!” From that, the badge was born, and everything else fell into place. Central Market is a grocery store with upstairs seating, outside seating, and Christmas displays galore. It seemed a natural fit for our needs.

This was one of our smaller events, which made it more intimate and cozy. We were able to use some of the time not just to socialize, but also to plan for some rather larger upcoming events in the area. Teamwork. It’s a beautiful thing.

We also tried something different that could really only work with a small event. Attendees were provided pen and paper and were asked to write down something they liked* about at least two of their fellow Munzeers (we were all fairly well familiar with each other, you see) and then surreptitiously, anonymously place it in the appropriate person’s candy dish (I say that like it was a thing of porcelain beauty – um, it was a red Solo cup) to find and digest later, with their sweets.

*All part of our ongoing efforts to, “Give me an occupation or I shall go mad!” (Bonus points to you, if you can name that movie.)

The Eventzee for Scrooged was particularly sublime (thanks to a brilliant co-host). It included various displays and items located throughout the event site and made for some interesting debate about loopholes, intent, and the spirit of the thing, post-event debriefing in the parking lot (the best events *do* have post-event chatter in the parking lot that goes on long after the venues close for the night, of course!)

I would be remiss if I did not mention that the weather for this particular event seemed sent from Scrooge himself: it stormed. Naturally. I say this because I feel I can never thank those folks enough who braved rush hour traffic in the pouring rain to get themselves to this event (hey, thanks again, guys!). [There. That should do it. Maybe?]

{You didn’t specify brief. This is all your fault.}

Would you like to highlight any future events you’re hosting?

We look forward to chatting loudly at each other from separate picnic tables and looking each other over to make sure we still appear to be (“appear,” being the key word) halfway sane(ish) after our long absence from this thing we used to know as a social life. On the plus side, who can tell we’ve aged 10 years in the last 8 months, when we’re 50′ apart? Silver linings, I tell ya. They’re a thing. A thing we aim to enjoy.

https://calendar.munzee.com/event1603381733/

This is our Ode to 2020, AKA the dumpster fire in which we are fully engaged at present. There will be the makings of an aptly designed garden for us to cap (feel free to deploy, and we’ll cap the tar out of them. Thanks!). We’ll also have at least a dozen physical event Munzees to cap. Think “little fires everywhere,” if you lean towards visualization. Who knew that 150′ proximity between event Munzees would one day be ideal? And to think we used to grumble. Now we respect what Munzee teaches us about distancing.

Attendees will be asked to kindly wear masks and if that doesn’t suit, then feel free to visit the site at any point during the week this event will be live. We will also have the usual hand sanitizers, spare masks, etc. for those folks willing to brave the presence of other (socially distanced) humans. The non-human kind need not be masked. Yes, dogs are welcome. Ferrets. Iguanas. Whatever comfort pet you’ve adopted during this siege. Bring ’em on. Show ’em off. Forgive us if we do not get close enough to pet. Maybe next time for that touchy, huggy thing we used to take for granted.

Meanwhile, attendees who take photos on the pink event indicator may just find themselves surprised by a little something post-event. Yes, we may just bribe – uh, *entice* – attendees to be social in different ways. Throw it out there, see what sticks, right?

Together we’ll figure out how to navigate these funky times in which we are a’livin’ and cap ourselves some Munzees along the way, yes? Yes!

Thank you to denali0407 for being such a great host and submitting the details for this event! We will be reaching out to other past event hosts in the future, so keep an eye on your inbox!

Celebrate Horror After Halloween With This New Greeting Card!

While many of us associate Friday the 13th with scary movies and Halloween, due to the way our calendar is set up, it’s quite rare to actually have a Friday the 13th occur in October. The last time it happened was in 2017, and the next time it will happen is in 2023. Five years is actually the minimum difference between occurrences — and eventually enough irregularities will accumulate and shift the next Friday the 13th in October to the max of an 11-year difference (which happened quite recently — before 2017 the previous Friday the 13th in October was in 2006).

That being said, despite not taking place in October, this Friday the 13th is special because it is also World Kindness Day. So, in honor of this coincidence, we are happy to announce the all NEW Kill Them With Kindness Greeting Card! You can pick up Greeting Cards from the Freeze Tag Online Store HERE. You receive multiple munzees from your single purchase. Read the details in the store, or see below.

NEW Greeting Card Details

We have 1 new Limited Edition card for your deploying pleasure!

Settle any ongoing quarrels with a Kill Them With Kindness Card! (available until 12:00 MHQ on November 16)

Don’t forget to edit the title and the notes to add a personal touch! While the capture message will contain your Munzee username as all Greeting Card capture messages do, we think typing in a more specific note will go a long way to creating a more unique and special experience!

This brings the current lineup of Greeting Cards available for purchase to the following:

  • Open Edition (will always be available; ONE Purchase yields FOUR munzees)
    • Birthday
    • Get Well
    • Thank You

NEW Badge

As we were so amused by this somewhat contradictory day, we also created a new Kindred Killer badge, which you can see below! Earn it by capturing and/or deploying at least 13 Greeting Card munzees of any type between 12:00 MHQ on Thursday November 12 to 23:59 MHQ on Sunday November 15. Why are we starting this on November 12? To cover our worldwide players who may already be experiencing Friday the 13th in other timezones!

2x Points on Greeting Cards

Lastly, to make interactions with Greeting Cards scary sweet, enjoy 2x the points on ALL activity for the munzees shown below for the period of 12:00 MHQ on Thursday November 12 to 23:59 MHQ on Sunday November 15 (same period as required for the badge)!

We hope you’re looking forward to a marvelous mail-filled weekend!

By Popular Demand, A New Places Munzee Has Emerged!

Back in May, we released 4 new Places Munzee types that were often requested by players. We thought that that would be enough to tide fans of Places Munzees over for the rest of the year. So, we were surprised to see that recently, there have been requests for a new type! We’re calling it the Drink Depot Places Munzee! It was added to the Freeze Tag store as of 12:00 MHQ today. Shop them HERE! They are limited to one per account per 30 days, like the other Places.

NEW Drink Depot Details

This new Places Munzee is all about the production of libations. Whether it’s a vineyard, a brewery, or a distillery we’re looking for unique locations that produce adult beverages (alcohol). We got the idea for this type from you, the players, so we’re confident they’ll be a welcome addition to the game. We can’t wait to see photos of beautiful grapevines, rustic machinery, and other interesting sights attached to these munzees. As with other Places munzees, these can be captured daily! They will also contribute progress towards the Places Capture badge line and the Places Streak badge line.

Capture Radius: 1,000 feet, not blastable

Deploy: 40 points

Capture: 20 points

CapOn: 10 points

To access these munzees, turn on your “Virtual – Places” filters. For more information on how to deploy a Places munzee, you can check out our Help Guide article. This document will be updated with our guidelines should any changes occur. Please note that these new places should be easily identifiable from Google Maps.

Deploy Guidelines:

Remember a Places Munzee has to have its location approved for deployment, so please be sure to read through these guidelines carefully. It is also very helpful for you to update the name and notes of the Munzee so our reviewers can verify it quickly to get it deployed for you.

Drink Depot: This is for the places where alcoholic beverages are made… not every location where it’s consumed. Think vineyards, wineries, breweries, and distilleries, but not bars or restaurants!

Places Munzees are very unique due to the much larger cap radius (as compared with other munzee types) and aforementioned daily capture ability. As you can’t capture your own munzees, trade Places munzees with other players to make the most of your deploys!

Ready for More NoMadness?!

While we were fleshing out the idea for the Zeecret Agent Nomad, we reviewed the other Nomads that were released and found that we had some gaps to fill! First off, we are excited to announce the new Gaming Nomad Munzee!

Gaming Nomad Details

Beginning Thursday, November 5th at 12:00 MHQ 20 Gaming Nomads will start bouncing on Gaming Munzees every 12 hours or when captured.

These captures will also count toward the Nomad Munzee Badge Line.

To clarify, Gaming Nomads will only land on the original player-deployed munzee and NOT any types that scatter from them. In list form:

Landing Pads:

  • Physical Gaming Nomad
    • Prize Wheel
    • Scatter — will scatter if capped while hosting a Gaming Nomad
    • Rock Paper Scissors
    • Bowling Ball — will not scatter if capped while hosting a Gaming Nomad; may change in the future
    • Urban Fit
    • Physical Joystick — will not scatter if capped while hosting a Gaming Nomad; may change in the future
  • Virtual Gaming Nomad
    • Surprise
    • Sir Prize Wheel — will not scatter if capped while hosting a Gaming Nomad; may change in the future
    • Virtual Joystick — will not scatter if capped while hosting a Gaming Nomad; may change in the future

Points:

  • Capture: 500
  • CapOn (for host owner): 250

Better your chances at capping a Gaming Nomad by deploying a Gaming Munzee near you! If you don’t already have any Gaming Munzees in your inventory, you can shop the collection at the Freeze Tag Store, or perhaps make a trade with other players who have them stocked up!

NEW Virtual Nomads

We also determined that the Jewel Thief and Warrior Nomads were only bouncing to the physical types of their corresponding landing pad categories. To correct this, we’ve released 10 new virtual versions of each as well! To keep the total number of each type at 20, this means that 10 of the original physical Jewel Thief and Warrior Nomads will be removed from the map.

To learn more about Nomads, check out the Help Guide article!

We hope you look forward to spotting these extremely rare pieces on the map!
