May 2023 Clan Wars Requirements

It’s almost May! You’ll find all the latest details to our clan requirements and rewards in the clan section of our app.
It is possible that we could update clan requirements prior to May 3 and reserve the right to do so. The final requirements and rewards will always be shown in the app.

Also a quick reminder about DOUBLE POINT WEEKENDS in MAY! EVERY weekend offers double points on different types, with extended timeframe for Mailbox owners! Get a reminder about the schedule here —- Due to these DPW you’ll notice a point increase for the month of MAY! Who will rise to the challenge?

May Badges

Your Clan can earn monthly badges to earn for reaching distinct levels of Clan Wars each month. You won’t be able to earn a badge until the entire clan has reached the specified level. There will be a total of 6 badges available in May. The first badge will appear as follows:

May 2023 Skin: Fish Hedge

As the month comes to a close, we wanted to make sure you were heading into May with your desired Hedges! The skin for completing your April capture streak (and the corresponding badge), which is the Swan Garden Hedge shown below, will be awarded in early May. But, we couldn’t wait to share what’s in store for next month!

April Hedge Reminders

If you haven’t picked up a Hedge yet, they are available in the Freeze Tag Store for $9.

How to have a permanent Hedge on your account next year:

  • Own at least 8 Hedges by the end of the year
    • Each month, the price of a Hedge will decrease by $1.
    • However, players can only purchase 1 Hedge every 28 days.

Also, don’t forget that Reseller Garden Hedges have arrived!  These unique munzee types are only available for purchase from participating Munzee Resellers, so shop now!

May Hedge Details

What Hedge Skin can you look forward to earning in May? The Fish Garden Hedge! Like the other hedges, the Fish Garden Hedge is a temporary POB that will remain on the map as long as players with permanent Garden Hedges continue to use it.

As stated earlier, to earn this skin, you’ll need to complete next month’s (May’s) capture streak. Once the skin is awarded in June, you can change the skin on the hedge to this one at any point — refer to our Help Guide article for the instructions!

You can find this fishy fern at the following landing pads every 6 hours or when captured:

Additionally, the Fish Garden Hedge will scatter up to 1-3 NEW Water Lily Flowers nearby when it is captured!

Like the other Hedge Flowers, these scatters will be visible to any player and will be deployed on the Hedge owner’s account. This means that unlike Air Mystery Feathers/Boulders, there are CapOn points for the owner! They expire after 120 minutes and have a capture radius of 300 feet. These hedge scatters will NOT count for deploy streaks, ZeeOps, or clan activity since they are passive deploys.

Badges

As a reminder, Garden Hedges have 4 associated badge lines:

  • Unique type deploy badges — you’ll need to earn each month’s skin by keeping your streak up!
  • Overall deploy badges — the more hedges you deploy, the merrier!
  • Unique type capture badges — capture at least 1 of each skinned hedge!
  • Overall capture badges — capture as many hedges as you can find!

While we revealed images for the first of each badge line in the original post, we are happy to show you the “Unique type deploy” and “Unique type capture” badges associated with the Fish Garden Hedge:

April 2023 GOTM Winners

April GOTM

This month saw a lot of awesome submissions, but ultimately, we narrowed it down to these two lovely gardens! Remember that all winning GOTM organizers and all players who deployed in the winning gardens will be awarded special badges for their contribution to growing the map. This month we’re happy to award the Tlinget Salmon Garden, designed by Promethium, and the Brandon Peacock Garden, designed by hunniees and dt07751, as our winning April GOTM! Starting Thursday, May 4 at 00:01 MHQ, each day you cap your Dark Side Mailbox you will be awarded a different Scrap Wars themed Greeting Card capture, similar to the other mailboxes. Please note that you’ll only be able to earn that specific card on that day, so you really don’t want to miss a day. The Dark Side Mailbox is available for $25 and includes the following:

  • 1 Dark Side Mailbox Munzee to deploy and move around anywhere at anytime!
  • 1 Daily Capture of the mailbox each MHQ day starting on April 20th or when first deployed, which should help with keeping up your streaks!
  • 28 Mailbox Prize Days starting on May 4th and ending on May 31st, which will deliver the goodies below when captured, including Cards, Zeds, Munzees to deploy and more!
  • 28 Themed Greeting Cards (+1 Bonus Card) to both CAPTURE and DEPLOY!

D4RTH Vardeman Mech

Like the other Munzee Mechz, the D4RTH Vardeman is a temporary POB. The D4RTH Vardeman will remain on the map until it has been captured 10 times, as you can see below. You will receive a fully-built D4RTH Vardeman that will auto-deploy on your account when the mailbox is captured on May 4th. You will also receive the Blueprint to rebuild it when you have earned enough Cogs in the future. It will cost 18 Cogs to rebuild this mech.

Landing Pads

You can find these evil emperors scowling at the landing pads above every 6 hours or when captured.

D4RTH Vardeman will be available for multi-capture. That means players can capture a D4RTH Vardeman on their own munzees, any previously captured munzees, and more than once if the same D4RTH Vardeman visits you. D4RTH Vardeman is non-blastable. It will be attracted to both Physical Magnets and Virtual Magnets. You can access it by turning on your “All Expiring Specials” filter.

When a D4RTH Vardeman is captured, it will scatter up to 2 Metalcarpals and up to 1 Laser Saber.

These scatters will be visible to any player and will be deployed on the Mech owner’s account. This means that unlike Air Mystery Feathers/Boulders, there are CapOn points for the owner! There are a variety of badge lines associated with this Mailbox, so look forward to earning even more as the month progresses!

  • Dark Side deploy badge — deploying a Dark Side Mailbox will earn you a special badge that you can see below.
  • Dark Side Mailbox Card capture badges — capture at least 1 of each unique Dark Side Mailbox card! We’ll keep what these look like a secret for now.
  • D4RTH Vardeman badges — deploying a D4RTH Vardeman mech will earn you the corresponding Blueprint badge that you can also see below. There is also a unique badge for capturing that the force has kept hidden for the time being…

NEW Premium Treehouse & Skyland Upgrades

We have some SUPER exciting news to share today, Munzee fans! For awhile now, we’ve seen requests from players wishing they could capture their Treehouses and Skylands more than just once per MHQ day. We can now happily announce that these dreams have become a reality!

Premium Members can now convert and upgrade their Treehouses and Skylands into Premium Destinations, which allow them to be captured once every 12 hours, instead of just once per MHQ day! NOTE – Once converted into a Premium Treehouse or Premium Skyland, only Premium Members will be able to capture and/or magnetize these destinations. This action is permanent and cannot be reversed, so upgrade wisely! Only the owner of the destination can upgrade their Munzee.

To upgrade, visit the Munzee Details page and tap the option to Convert

  • It will cost 1 Destination Credit to upgrade your Treehouse or Skyland

Have a BLAST with this NEW Booster!

Our team is THRILLED to announce the ALL NEW Capture Radius Booster! Prepare to reach new heights (or distances) with this all new Booster credit. The Capture Radius Booster (CRB) works a little different than other Boosters, but the gist is that it will double the distance of the virtual munzees you can capture. This includes virtual scatters, bouncers on virtual landing pads, Places, ALL things virtual! We’re considering this a soft launch as there may be a few more small adjustments to be made as we get your feedback over the next few weeks.

This all new Booster can only be purchased for 60 Zeds in the In-App Store.

The CRB will work with Blast Captures and Rover Treats to double their distance as well! This means you have the ability to blast munzees up to 2 miles from your current location. Due to its unique nature the Capture Radius Booster will last for 5 minutes.

From our internal testing we think 5 minutes will be a nice number in order  to meet some different types of needs. While you’re a passenger in a car you now have the ability to reach upcoming virtuals from twice the distance, never missing those amethysts again. 🙂 Remember, about a month ago, we announced players could now set off Blasts without having to wait until the previous one finishes! That meant more Blasts in less time! No more ignoring your friends at events while you watch the screen, waiting to blast again!

Our goal is to make this new Booster easily accessible so players can use it at anytime, so please let us know of any feedback in case there is some more tinkering needed. The CRB is just right for that extension you need to cap a few more munzees that have previously been out of reach, or those lining many of the roads across the world. Cube Your Cubimals!

Remember when those cute Cubimals were stuck in QRates and we needed your help to get them out? How many have you saved? If you were diligently freeing them from their prisons all along, it’s time to collect your dues as the QRate-cracking, Cubimal-saving hero that you truly are! To celebrate the anniversary of their launch almost 2 years ago today, we’re bouncing with excitement to announce a long awaited and requested feature to give Cubimals new life!

Starting April 1 at 12:00 MHQ, you will be able to combine Mini Cubimals into temporary Cubimal Bouncers! How do you make a larger, more powerful cube? Combine them together of course! Since it takes 8 cubes to make a larger 2x2x2 cube, you’ll need 8 Mini Cubimals of the same type to turn it into a temporary Cubimal Bouncer. Each time the bouncer is captured a mini cube is consumed and will expire after 8 captures total. We’re curious to hear your feedback on the soft launch of these Cubimal Bouncers!
