Get ready to roll up your sleeves — the annual Can Scatters are back! From April 22nd through April 24th, capturing Trees scattered from Earth Mysteries will have the chance to scatter Cans across the map. The more you capture, the more chances you’ll have to trigger scatters — so get out there and start cleaning!

✂️ Flat Birthday Celebration! 🥳

This March, instead of featuring just one Flat Friend or Flat Object, we wanted to start a new birthday tradition! If you were concerned about meeting certain March Clan Wars Requirements, this should come in handy!

From NOW through March 22nd, Flat Rob, Flat Flashlight, Flat Fountain Pen, and Flat Disc Golf Basket will be scattering Birthday Hats when captured. Will you be able to collect them all?

Limited Time Scatter Details

From the period of Monday, March 10th at 12:00 MHQ through Sunday, March 22nd at 23:59 MHQ, when you capture a Flat Rob, Flat Flashlight, Flat Fountain Pen, or Flat Disc Golf Basket, up to 3 Birthday Hats may be scattered nearby!

As with other Flat Scatters, the Hats will be visible to any player and will be deployed on the Flat owner’s account. This means that unlike Feathers / Boulders, there are CapOn points for the owner! They expire after 120 minutes, have a capture radius of 300 feet, and you’ll be able to use Rover Treats to capture them as well! These scatters will NOT count for deploy streaks, ZeeOps, or clan activity since they are passive deploys.

The rewards for Hats are as follows:

  • Capture: 50 points
  • CapOn: 25 points

In addition, these birthday hat scatters will also return annually on each staff member’s birthday, much like the Earth Day Tree Scatters. For reference, the dates are:

Valentine’s Day may be over, but Flat Day the 13th: The Game is still going strong — so we figured, it’s never too late to put out some love songs! You may remember our Jukebox Specials from a few years ago — we’ve updated them now to fit our more medZEEval MHQ world! They are live NOW until Sunday, March 8th at 23:59 MHQ, though like the Traveling Troupe Specials, they will most likely return with more songs in the future!

LuteBox Specials

Look forward to seeing Munzee-fied versions of classic hits! These specials will be released in waves, but will end at a total of 1,500 Evergreen LuteBoxes and 1,500 Velvet LuteBoxes.

They will bounce around every 4 hours or when capped.

These specials will be available for multi-capture. That means players can capture a LuteBox on their own munzees, any previously captured munzees, and more than once if the same LuteBox visits you. These munzees will not be blastable. They will be attracted to magnets, available from the Freeze Tag Online Store. You can access the LuteBox specials under the “All Expiring Specials” and “All Limited Specials” filters.

When a LuteBox is captured, it will scatter up to 1 LuteBox Record for regular players, and up to 3 LuteBox Records for Premium Members. At launch each LuteBox has the potential to scatter different records!

While we want to keep most of the records a surprise right now, here’s a sneak peek at one of them:

These scatters will be worth 50 points per capture and visible to any player! They expire after 30 minutes, have a capture radius of 300 feet, and you’ll be able to use Rover Treats to capture them as well!

2/17/26 Update: Due to code changes since the last time these scatters were live, scatters from Fancy Flat Robs are currently being deployed on the landing pad owner’s account. Our apologies to the Fancy Flat Rob owners who were expecting to get CapOn points from these scatters — unfortunately, there is no quick way for us to correct this, so we’ll have to address it before the next time we re-release these scatters.

This year for Mardi Gras, Rob is joining in on the fun with a festive jester hat!

🪓❤️ Flat Day the 13th: The Game 🕹️🔪

Have you checked the calendar lately? 2026 is particularly rich in Friday the 13ths, with the first two in back-to-back months! To mark this very rare and special occasion, we’ve created a new game you can play from Joystick munzees!

Limited Time Scatter Details

From the period of Friday, February 13th at 12:00 MHQ through Friday, March 13th at 23:59 MHQ, when you capture a Physical or Virtual Joystick, up to 3 Flat Day the 13th Hearts may be scattered nearby!

Temporarily Disabled

As shown in the table above, Flat Day the 13th Hearts will temporarily take the place of the Runzee Rob, Leap Frog, and Munch Man scatters during this event. This means:

  • You will ONLY get Flat Day the 13th Heart scatters when capping Joysticks
  • Flat Day the 13th Hearts will behave the same way as the other game scatters:
    • Scatters to Greenies within 1,500 ft
    • Capture: 19 – 85 points

Then, after capturing a Flat Day the 13th Heart, up to 3 Flat Day the 13th Weapons may be scattered nearby. Be careful though, playing with weapons isn’t very safe and you never know who might use them against you! There’s a chance one of the Weapons could reveal a killer Flat Day The 13th Mask!

Capping these weapons will give you points based on the result you receive:

  • Weapon Successfully Grabbed: 35 points
  • Mask: 100 points

🧊 The Map Has Gone Cold!

Just when things seemed calm again, a bitter chill has crept across the map! In the aftermath of Trapador’s defeat during the ADVENTure Mailbox, strange icy anomalies have begun to surface. Certain Munzee types are now frozen solid, trapped by a Frigid Curse that appears to be spreading through clusters of chilling Wisps. Was this a final retaliatory strike, or an unexpected consequence of disrupting his plans? Whatever the cause, the cold is tightening its grip. Bundle up and take action — capture Frigid Munzees, clear out the Frigid Wisps, and help thaw the map before this deep freeze becomes permanent!

Frigid Munzees

So far, only the Greenie and Virtual Rainbow Munzees have been caught in the deep freeze, their once-familiar forms now locked beneath layers of ice. You can spot their frosty transformation below. Don’t let their chilly appearance fool you though — even if you’ve captured these Munzees before, thawing out these Frigid versions will earn you a brand new cap!

But the frost fight is far from over. As the Frigid Curse continues to spread, new Munzee types will be frozen each week, so keep your eyes peeled for clues pointing to what might be next. Move fast and help thaw the map while you can — all Frigid Munzees will melt away and leave the map on Saturday, January 31st at 23:59 MHQ.

These Frigid Munzees are FlashMOBs just like the Cursed Munzees from previous events. This means that the Cursed Munzees are actually a “mask” applied on top of a host munzee: similar to a bouncing munzee, but once capped, they do NOT bounce anywhere else. You have “removed” the mask. All Greenies and Virtual Rainbows will have these new types placed on top of them – only the first to capture on each type will be able to get these Cursed Munzees! So hurry and rush to capture them before others do!

Special Scatter Details

Upon cleansing a Frigid Munzee via capture, up to 3 Frigid Wisps will materialize nearby. This is the curse’s final defense mechanism — if it can’t stay on its original host, it will attempt to spread nearby via Wisps, like a nasty infection. Cap them to keep the map clean!

Thawing the map and clearing out the Frigid Curse won’t be an easy task, so Cappy has prepared two special badges to recognize the most determined cappers!

The first badge, shown below, is awarded for capturing at least 10 Frigid Wisps and helping push back the icy spread:

One badge is revealed, but the other is still on ice — stay sharp as the frost fight continues!

The frost is spreading, but the thaw starts with you! Jump in, capture Frigid Munzees, and help reclaim the map before the cold settles in for good.

This year for National Flashlight Day, Tamara wanted to immortalize her costume at the Boos & Brews event in badge form! Since Dylan’s Flat Object also perfectly fit the theme, we decided to create a fun combo badge in the same vein as the Pawfect Storm badge!

🧟‍♂️Nights of the Living Mechz: 🤖 ScottB0T vs. 🦃 G0BBL3R

Something strange is stirring in the codebase… and it’s not just the faint sound of gobbling.

After years of silence, ScottB0T has returned from the digital graveyard! He’s been patched up, reprogrammed, and is ready to lend Helping Handz as the MHQ team battles a mysterious outbreak of corrupted code. But just as ScottB0T began rebooting the system, a long-forgotten project clawed its way back online — the G0BBL3R, a rogue TurKEY mech with a bad attitude and an even bigger appetite for revenge (and maybe leftovers).

Now the servers are overrun with chaos! Both mechs seem to be replicating themselves, spreading across the Munzee map like an infectious digital virus. Every capture only fuels the madness — new versions keep spawning in strange places, and the battlefield grows by the minute! The Nights of the Living Mechz have begun, and it’s up to you to contain the outbreak before the code consumes us all! Will ScottB0T’s steady hand save the day, or will the G0BBL3R gobble his way to total domination? Who’s really the biggest turkey of them all?!

Nights of the Living Mechz

This special flashMOB event works just like our recent Hot-Headed specials! During this limited-time scare, certain Munzee types across the map will temporarily transform to reveal the eerie Handz of the Dead icons — each one hiding a spooky surprise inside. Even if you’ve already captured these types before, you’ll be able to recapture them again while these specials are live!

These mechy monstrosities will stalk the map through Tuesday, November 4th at 23:59 MHQ and will appear on the types below, before disappearing back into the data graveyard.

During this event, capturing a Helping Handz will deploy a ScottB0T Mech on CappyTheUnicorn’s account, while a Greedy Handz will unleash a G0BBL3R Mech instead! But that’s not all — these reanimated rivals seem to be running on unstable code! When you capture one of these Mechz in the wild, it will replicate itself, deploying a brand-new version on Cappy’s account.

The battle for Mech supremacy has officially begun… which one will rise to rule the ruins — the handy hero ScottB0T, or the hungry horror G0BBL3R?
