🥳🎪 Traveling Troupe Returns! NEW Midnight Matinee Performers 🌃✨

The Traveling Troupe is back under the spotlight for Munzee’s 15th Birthday celebration! For this special birthday performance, the performers have transformed into dazzling neon acts, lighting up the Midnight Matinee beneath the Epic Eclipse. From NOW through Sunday, August 9th at 23:59 MHQ, these glowing specials will be bouncing across the map.

This return introduces all-new Neon Performers and Neon Prop variants, giving every act in the troupe an electrifying blacklight makeover. While these glowing performers may return for future shows, the exclusive Midnight Matinee badge is only available during Munzee’s 15th Birthday celebration, so be sure to catch the entire cast before the curtain closes on this year’s festivities!

Traveling Troupe Specials

As always, Traveling Troupe specials will be released in waves, but will end at a total of 3,000 on the map. They will bounce around every 4 hours or when capped. These stagecoaches are Munzee Owned Bouncers (MOBs) but they will land on Flat Munzees all across the realm!

These specials will be available for multi-capture. That means players can capture a Traveling Troupe on their own munzees, any previously captured munzees, and more than once if the same Traveling Troupe visits you. These munzees will not be blastable. They will be attracted to magnets, available from the Freeze Tag Online Store. You can access the Traveling Troupe specials under the “All Expiring Specials” and “All Limited Specials” filters.

When a Traveling Troupe is captured during the Midnight Matinee, it will scatter 1-2 Neon Performers nearby!

What Gargoyle awaits at the Freeze Tag Store? The Glow-Goyle, an appropriatley themed unicorn Gargoyle that glows neon bright against the Epic Eclipse’s shade! It is a temporary POB that will remain on the map for approximately 60 days after this launch — until some time on September 15 — when it will be automatically archived on your account. You may recall that this is similar to the Birthday MunzShroom we released last year. This glowing Gargoyle will leave the store after birthday month on August 3rd, so don’t miss your chance to light up the night sky!

NOTE – This purchase WILL NOT count towards the 8 temporary Gargoyles needed to keep a permanent one next year. Only the Base Gargoyle and Bonus Gargoyle purchases will count towards the permanent one.

Unlike normal Gagroyle who must be free from stone, the Glow-Goyle must be free from its crystal encasing!

As stated earlier, you’ll need to buy this Gargoyle from the Freeze Tag Store. It will come with a base Gargoyle with the Glow-Goyle skin already equipped. However, you can still swap out the skins just like the other Gargoyles — refer to our Help Guide article if you need a refresher!

You can find this striking statue at the following landing pads every 6 hours or when captured:

Remember, instead of scatters, Gargoyles introduce a new dual-ownership mechanic which will benefit both deployers and cappers!

  • After 4 captures, the Stone Gargoyle will turn into a Cracking Gargoyle
  • After 1 more capture, the Cracking Gargoyle will turn into a Freed Gargoyle, which is owned by both the deployer AND capper! This means both players will earn CapOn points!
    • NOTE: Only the Main Gargoyle Owner will get credit for the deploy. The Temporary Co-Owner will not see a deploy on their side, but instead will see earned CapOn points whenever the co-owned bouncer is captured.
  • After 5 captures, the Freed Gargoyle will turn back into a Crystal Gargoyle

🩷💚💜 Glow Up! ☁︎🌒🎆 The Munzee Map Is Covered In Shadows!

The Epic Eclipse has darkened the New Dawn Festival, and malevolent midnight spirits have been unleashed all across the Munzee map! Certain Munzee types are now covered in neon shadows, and this Shadow Curse is spreading through clusters of glowing blacklight Wisps. Shine a light and save the day by capturing Shadow Cursed Munzees, clear out the Shadow Wisps, and brighten up the map before this eclipse is permanent!

Shadow Cursed Munzees

As the darkness spreads, some of our most brightly shining munzees have been taken over by the neon glow of the shadows! Flat Flashlights, Air Mysteries, and Surprise Munzees have all been affected by the Shadow Curse, and their black-lit distortions can be seen below. Don’t let their neon glowing appearance fool you though — even if you’ve captured these Munzees before, shining a light on these shadow versions will earn you a brand new cap!

As the Shadow Curse continues to spread, new Munzee types will be overcast… Here’s a sneak peek at the upcoming afflicted types starting next Tuesday, July 21st at 00:01 MHQ! Week #1 types will still be available to find alongside Week #2. Move fast and help brighten things up while you can — all Shadow Munzees will fade away and leave the map on Sunday August 2nd at 23:59 MHQ.

  • CapOn: 3 points

These Shadow Munzees are FlashMOBs just like the Cursed Munzees from previous events. This means that the Cursed Munzees are actually a “mask” applied on top of a host munzee: similar to a bouncing munzee, but once capped, they do NOT bounce anywhere else. You have “removed” the mask. All effected munzees will have these new types placed on top of them – only the first to capture on each type will be able to get these Cursed Munzees! So hurry and rush to capture them before others do!

Special Scatter Details

Upon cleansing a Shadow Munzee via capture, up to 3 Shadow Wisps will materialize nearby. This is the curse’s final defense mechanism — if it can’t stay on its original host, it will attempt to spread nearby via Wisps, like a nasty infection. Cap them to keep the map from succumbing to darkness!

Think of them as the link between Widdlz and Mechz! Each month will see the release of a new PakRat launching exclusively through the MunzPak this year.
