Use Your PinPoints Before They’re Gone!

Almost three years ago, we started the PinPoints program to give players a way to earn game pieces through gameplay and purchases. Although we’ve enjoyed this opportunity to reward players, certain limitations by third party developers have forced us to shut down the program. Because of this PinPoints will no longer be redeemable after 15:00 MHQ on March 31st.

If you have PinPoints you can read more about these changes below, but we do want to highlight a number of reward opportunities we’ve added over the last three years for the Munzee community:

  • We launched our In-App Store, which allows players to purchase items using Zeds, an in-app currency which are often given as rewards for various gameplay achievements.
  • By rebooting our ZeeOps program, players can earn daily rewards for completing missions, as well as different credits that can be used in the Redeem Store.
  • For special occasions, limited-time credits like the Sham Rocks are earnable via gameplay and can be redeemed for unique seasonal game pieces.
  • Key areas of the game have been revamped such as the NEW Daily Activity Tracker, and Clan Wars, where players are able to earn rewards through gameplay as well.

Ultimately as our team has developed better ways to deliver rewards, it has become unrealistic to rely on third party providers for these tools. We appreciate all of those that have embraced the PinPoints program so we want to be sure that you can make the most of those points while you have them.

How to Make the Most of Your PinPoints

  • Earn PinPoints on purchases until 15:00 MHQ on March 28th – PP have a 3 day delivery/hold period on them, so we will deactivate new purchases at that time.
  • Review other items in the Freeze Tag Store to see if there’s anything else you want to redeem using PinPoints.
  • Use discount codes produced by PinPoints starting with “LL” before they are voided permanently April 1st.
  • Refer to our Help Guide article if you need a refresher on how everything works.
  • We know there are some players with large amounts of PinPoints left, so we have added a handful of NEW, higher value items until 15:00 MHQ on March 31st.

We do not anticipate offering PinPoints as part of a loyalty program in the future, so you will need to redeem your PinPoints before the removal date. Please note that we do not have PinPoints stored in the Munzee databases. PinPoints are held by a third-party provider through our Shopify store, so we won’t be able to bring those points back.

NEW Cyclops Skin in the Redeem Store!

We love to know that our players make the effort to pick up trash around their local areas and dispose of them properly as they #MunzeeOn! To honor that practice, we’ve created a new skin just in time for Global Recycling Day! This skin would also be perfect to see on the map on Earth Day next month.

It is available in the Redeem Store in the [Sham Rocks Surprise] tab, also for 25 SRC. Like the Sham Rock n Rolla, it will remain available through 02:30 MHQ on Sunday, April 3rd (the expiration date we had set for Sham Rock Credits).

Secret ZeeOps- Operation: Out Of Time (March 2022)

All caught up with Secret ZeeOps and looking for more? Here’s a new one available in the ZeeOps Hub for the usual cost of 1,500 Zeds. For now, it will be available for purchase until 23:59 MHQ on April 30. If you’ve purchased a Secret ZeeOp, you will be able to complete it and collect rewards even after it is no longer available for purchase.

Can you help us solve a DST-linked mystery? If you complete ALL the missions in Operation: Out Of Time, you’ll receive the snazzy badge below, along with the new M0TH3RB04RD and Father TiM3 Mechz (more info below!) and various other rewards listed in the app!

There are 5 levels. All levels have 3 missions each. Each level ends with more prizes.

We may share this information moving forward with other Operations but possibly not.

NEW Mech Details

Like the other Munzee Mechz, the M0TH3RB04RD and Father TiM3 are temporary POBs that will remain on the map until they have been captured 5 times. In addition, as a tPOB, upon capture you have the chance to earn 1 Sham Rock Credit.

That means players can capture M0TH3RB04RDs and Father TiM3s on their own munzees, any previously captured munzees, and more than once if the same M0TH3RB04RD or Father TiM3 visits you. M0TH3RB04RDs and Father TiM3s are non-blastable. They will be attracted to both Physical Magnets and Virtual Magnets. You can access M0TH3RB04RDs and Father TiM3s by turning on your “All Expiring Specials” filter.

When a M0TH3RB04RD is captured, it will scatter up to 3 C00K13S. Similarly, when a Father TiM3 is captured, it will scatter up to 3 Hourglasses.

There are also badges for capturing a M0TH3RB04RD and capturing a Father TiM3. Since there’s only one badge in these lines, we’ll keep them a secret for now.

This NEW Mech is for All Who Love Rock ‘n’ Roll!

In our first Sham Rock Credits post, we mentioned that another tab in the Redeem Store would appear later on. As planned, this tab contains items that will remain available through 02:30 MHQ on Sunday, April 3rd (the expiration date we had set for Sham Rock Credits) — so you don’t need to worry about them going away like the items in the [Sham Rocks (Week X)] tab (which swaps out on 12:00 MHQ every Thursday)! Currently there’s only one item in there right now, so here’s everything you need to know!

Sham Rock n Rolla Details

Like the other Munzee Mechz, the Sham Rock n Rolla is a temporary POB that will remain on the map until it has been captured 5 times. In addition, as a tPOB, upon capture you have the chance to earn 1 Sham Rock Credit. At 12:00 MHQ today, it was made available in the Redeem Store in the [Sham Rocks Surprise] tab for 25 SRC. If you decide to make the trade, a Sham Rock n Rolla will be automatically deployed on your account at once! You will also receive the Greenprint to rebuild it when you have earned enough Cogs in the future.

Points You can find these charismatic cyborgs playing at the following landing pads every 6 hours or when captured:
  • Deploy: 733
  • Capture: 150-250
  • CapOn: 133-173
  • Smashed (5th Cap): 500

When a Sham Rock n Rolla is captured, it will scatter up to 3 Blarney Beats.

NEW St. Patrick’s Day Skins – Another Source of SRC!

With a Leprechaun and a Balor Cyclops already in the game, you’d think we’d tire of making Irish-themed myths. Think again! The rich culture gives us a lot of inspiration to draw from, and since we’ve embraced it as the theme for this month, new skins were the logical next step!

Like the Halloween skins, these skins are available in the Freeze Tag Store as a 3-Pack for $10! They will remain in the store until 23:59 MHQ on March 31st. You can shop them HERE!

Sham Rock Credits

You have the chance to earn 1 Sham Rock Credit upon capturing one of these skinned Myths. They don’t fall under the tPOB category, so we’ve added an entirely new source that you can earn SRC from! However, please note this will only apply in March. Once the month is over, you will no longer be able to earn SRC, as we stated in the original blog post.

NEW Limited-Time Credits are the Real Deal!

— UPDATE: As of 3/3/22 12:00 MHQ — The new tab in the Redeem Store is now live! Put those Sham Rocks to work!

You’ve heard of Candy Corn Credits and C04L Credits — now get ready for Sham Rock Credits!  After reviewing the activity on C04L Credits and making some improvements (we hope ?) we’ve created a new limited-time credit for you to earn and redeem!

Like Jewel Shards, Weapon Shards, and Cogs, you’ll be able to redeem Sham Rock Credits (SRC) at the Redeem Store for game pieces. However, similar to Candy Corn Credits and C04L Credits, they can only be redeemed until 02:30 MHQ on Sunday, April 3rd (when April Clan Wars starts).

How to Earn Sham Rock Credits

Sham Rock Credits can be earned from 00:01 MHQ on Tuesday, March 1st to 23:59 MHQ on Thursday, March 31st.

You can earn them the following ways:

  • Chance to earn 1 SRC upon capturing a tPOB
  • Chance to earn 1 SRC upon capturing a Destination
  • Chance to earn 1 SRC upon capturing Shamrocks (both Physical + Virtual)
  • Chance to earn 1 SRC upon capturing Emeralds
  • Chance to earn 1 SRC upon capturing a St. Patrick’s Day Greeting Card
    • Owners of these cards will also have a chance to receive SRC
  • Chance to earn 1 SRC upon capturing an Event Pin (excluding the Event Indicator Pin)
  • Chance to earn 3/4/5 SRC (dependent on type) upon opening a QRate
  • Guaranteed to earn 1 – 3 SRC upon capturing certain MOBs we’ll release next week!
  • — UPDATE: As of 3/9/22 12:00 MHQ — Chance to earn 1 SRC upon capturing a St. Patrick’s Day skinned Myth.

Goodies You Can Get With Sham Rock Credits

As usual, the most up-to-date list of what’s available will be what you see on munzee.com/redeem. Like the tabs for C04L Credits, you’ll only be able to redeem items in the “Week 1” tab during Week 1, after which, only the “Week 2” tab will be visible until Week 3, and so on. So make sure to spend your credits each week!

ZEE-Dayz Coming Soon!

As mentioned in our social posts, expect a ZEE-Dayz event kicking off Thursday at 12:00 MHQ! Physical and Virtual Shamrock Munzees will see TRIPLE their normal point values, plus a special badge and sale!

March 2022 Skin: Lucky Flamingo

As the month comes to a close, we wanted to make sure you were heading into March with your desired Flamingos! The skin for completing your February capture streak (and the corresponding badge), which is the Valentines Garden Flamingo shown below, will be awarded in early March. But, we couldn’t wait to share what’s in store for next month!

February Flamingo Reminders

If you haven’t picked up a Flamingo yet, they are available in the Freeze Tag Store for $11.

Each month, the price of a Flamingo will decrease by $1. However, players can only purchase 1 Flamingo every 28 days.

Don’t forget that you’ll need to own at least 8 Flamingos by the end of the year to have a permanent one next year — so make sure to stock up soon if you’re a fan of these brightly-colored lawn decorations!

March Flamingo Details

What Flamingo Skin can you look forward to earning in March? The contrasting Lucky Garden Flamingo! Like the other flamingos, the Lucky Garden Flamingo is a temporary POB that will remain on the map as long as players with permanent Garden Flamingos continue to use it.

As stated earlier, to earn this skin, you’ll need to complete next month’s (March’s) capture streak. Once the skin is awarded in April, you can change the skin on the flamingo to this one at any point — refer to our Help Guide article for the instructions!

  • Capture: 250
  • CapOn: 300

You can find these favored fowls riding the rainbow to the following landing pads every 6 hours or when captured:

Additionally, the Lucky Garden Flamingo will scatter up to 3 NEW Fortune Feathers nearby when it is captured!

Like the other Flamingo Feathers, the Fortune Feathers will be visible to any player and will be deployed on the Flamingo owner’s account. This means that unlike Air Mystery Feathers/Boulders, there are CapOn points for the owner! They expire after 120 minutes and have a capture radius of 300 feet. These flamingo feather scatters will NOT count for deploy streaks, ZeeOps, or clan activity since they are passive deploys.

The rewards for Flamingo Feathers are as follows:

  • Capture: 50 points
  • CapOn: 50 points

The Lucky Garden Flamingo will be available for multi-capture. That means players can capture Lucky Garden Flamingos on their own munzees, any previously captured munzees, and more than once if the same Lucky Garden Flamingo visits you. Lucky Garden Flamingos are non-blastable. They will be attracted to both Physical Magnets and Virtual Magnets. You can access Lucky Garden Flamingos by turning on your “All Limited Edition Specials” and “All Expiring Specials” filters.

As a reminder, Garden Flamingos have 4 associated badge lines:

  • Unique type deploy badges — you’ll need to earn each month’s skin by keeping your streak up!
  • Overall deploy badges — the more flamingos you deploy, the merrier!
  • Unique type capture badges — capture at least 1 of each skinned flamingo!
  • Overall capture badges — capture as many flamingos as you can find!

Reseller Garden Flamingos

Of course, we couldn’t leave our Resellers out of the yard decorating fun! We managed to prepare these a little earlier in the year than the Reseller Garden Gnomes, so we’re feeling a bit accomplished. Please welcome these very special Garden Flamingos themed around each Reseller’s shop!

Reseller Garden Flamingo Details

Like the other flamingos, Reseller Garden Flamingos are temporary POBs that will remain on the map as long as players with permanent Garden Flamingos continue to use it. When you purchase a Garden Flamingo from a Reseller, you will receive the base Garden Flamingo with their respective flamingo skin already equipped. However, you can still swap out the skins just like the other Garden Flamingos — refer to our Help Guide article if you need a refresher!

Loveable Mini Mechz to Collect + NEW Badge Lines!

Can you believe there was a time when all you could use your Cogs on were Spyderbots? With the increasing popularity of Daily ZeeOps, we’ve tried to design new tPOBs to keep the map more varied and fun for everyone! This month, we’ve released new Mechz in the MunzPak and the V-Mailbox, but what if you just want a new Mech without all of the extras? We’ve got two Valentine-themed options for you… Please welcome X Bot and O Bot!

NEW Mech Details

X Bots and O Bots are temporary POBs that will remain on the map until they have been captured 5 times. The X Bot is available at the Freeze Tag Store HERE. The O Bot will be available in the In-App Store! When you purchase a X Bot or O Bot, you will receive a fully-built X Bot or O Bot that auto-deploys. You will also receive the Blueprint to rebuild it when you have earned enough Cogs in the future. These Mechs will be available to purchase until 23:59 MHQ on Monday, February 28th.

  • Deploy: 500
  • Capture: 250
  • CapOn: 100
  • Xhaust (5th Cap): 500

You can find these alphabetical androids making their mark at the following landing pads every 6 hours or when captured:

X Bots and O Bots will be available for multi-capture. That means players can capture X Bots and O Bots on their own munzees, any previously captured munzees, and more than once if the same X Bot or O Bot visits you. X Bots and O Bots are non-blastable. They will be attracted to both Physical Magnets and Virtual Magnets. You can access X Bots and O Bots by turning on your “All Expiring Specials” filter.

When an X Bot is captured, it will scatter up to 3 Heart ThRobots. Similarly, when an O Bot is captured, it will scatter up to 3 Rouge Bots.

These will be visible to any player and will be deployed on the X Bot or O Bot owner’s account. This means that unlike Feathers/Boulders, there are CapOn rewards for the owner! They expire after 120 minutes, have a capture radius of 300 feet, and you’ll be able to use Rover Treats to capture them as well. These scatters will NOT count for deploy streaks, ZeeOps, or clan activity since they are passive deploys.

The rewards for Heart ThRobots and Rouge Bots are as follows:

  • Capture: 50 points
  • CapOn: 25 points

Badges

Deploying an X Bot or an O Bot will earn you the corresponding Blueprint badge. You can see these badges below.

There is also a line of badges that you can earn for X Bot and O Bot captures! You can see the first badge in this line below.

Lastly, we’ve also created NEW badge lines for overall Mech captures and deploys. You can see the first badges in these lines below:

As these badge lines are retroactive, you may have already met the requirements for some of the badges, and should see them on your account soon! If not, please wait a few days as our system catches up with awarding these new badges to everyone who has earned them, before contacting support.
