National Waffle Day Specials Will Have You Bolting for Breakfast!

For those of us lucky enough to be working from home, one benefit is having more time in the morning to scrounge up a good breakfast! Here at MHQ that usually means anything with bacon and eggs, but we also need carbs to balance out that protein! What does a good breakfast look like to you?

To celebrate National Waffle Day, Wandering Waffle specials are now live on the map for everyone and will remain available until September 14 at 23:59 MHQ. You can use the “All Expiring Specials” and “All Limited Edition Specials” filters to more easily view them on the map. Check out the menu below!

There will be a total of 480 Wandering Waffle Specials available for capture — that breaks down to 240 of each. These are attracted to either Physical or Virtual Magnets depending on their type. These are not blastable.

There are two lines of badges related to Wandering Waffle specials.

The first line is based on overall Wandering Waffle captures. These badges will show you the tools to make the perfect waffles and some popular dishes with waffles as the main ingredient! The first badge in this line is called Waffle Iron and is earned by capping four Waffles of any type!

The second line of badges is based on each of the two Wandering Waffle specials. Make sure to cap at least one of each special so you can start your day off right!

Lovesick? It’s Time For Another Segment of Ask Aphrodite!

In times like these, we all need a friend who’s looking out for us. And if that friend happens to be an expert in matters of the heart, all the better! Tune in to 461.5 to hear the soothing, velvety voice of our newest Modern Myth, broadcasting straight from WBHQ-FM!

Aphrodite will be available for sale starting at 12:00 MHQ time today until 12:00 MHQ time on Sept 1!

Aphrodite Details

The Aphrodite Modern Myth will be available for purchase HERE! She will be spotted bouncing around to Greenies, Air Mysteries, Pink Colored Virtuals*, Pink Diamonds, Treehouses, and Skylands every 12 hours or when capped.

Each Aphrodite is numbered and will be owned by a Munzee player. You can pick this Myth up for $20! The sale is open to anyone regardless of other Mythological ownership. Only ONE (1) Aphrodite is allowed per account.

Points

  • Deploy: 250
  • Capture: 200
  • CapOn: 100

In keeping with the Modern Myth line, when she is captured 3 new munzees will also be scattered nearby — these will either be Glasses or Shell-Phones!

These will scatter like feathers so there are no CapOn points but they are worth 50 points for capture!

Aphrodite is able to be upgraded via a Bouncer Upgrade Credit, which gives the ability to be “nudged” or be renamed. The upgrade credit will give you the ability to “nudge” your Aphrodite to a new munzee up to three times a day, following the MHQ 24-hour day, after it has been on its host munzee for at least three hours. This nudging ability is only available for the owner via the munzee’s webpage and is not available in the app.

Your munzee will still retain its unique number, but feel free to get creative when it comes to renaming your Aphrodite! Just be sure to follow the Player Code of Conduct, and remember Munzee maintains a family-friendly environment.

If you’re hoping to cap one of these brand new Modern Myths, then you’re in luck! Aphrodite will be attracted to Munzee Magnets and Virtual Munzee Magnets. You can access Aphrodite by turning on your “Only Expiring Specials” and “Only Mythological” filters.

Deploying Aphrodite will earn you the following badge:

All captures will count toward the Myth Collectors badge line. There is also a line of hidden Capture badges that you can earn for Aphrodite captures, with 3 badges currently available, but more to come! The first in this line will appear as follows:

Premium Prizes For Captivating Campers!

Starting with our Player of the Month requirements announced a few weeks ago, we wanted to make this month all about reaching out to and supporting all the new players that have discovered Munzee during these tough times.

Last week we posted about the new tutorials we’ve added to the Help & Info section of the app, which is just one of many steps we are taking to make the app more friendly to new players. Another step we’ve taken is testing out week-long Premium trials for new players when they sign up. So far, the results have been good, so it looks like the Premium trials are here to stay!

Since we’ve committed to giving all new players a week-long Premium trial, we wanted to extend the offer to others as well! Whether you’re a new player who joined before the trials started, or a veteran player who hasn’t chosen to take the next step, this is your chance to get a taste of the Premium life.

And the winner is…

As they’ve been dominating the entire competition, this comes as no surprise… but we think the other camps made a valiant effort as well! The final point differences among Camp QRantine, Camp KenneZEE, and Camp Cap-A-Lot are so close, which is a testament to the effort ALL camps have put in!

Now moving on to the part you’re probably most interested in — the prizes! Here’s what you will receive if you were active at any point during the competition and placed in a camp, based on how your team ranked:

Unique Greeting Card Details

Having more time for double points than the other camps is definitely a useful perk for players in the first place camp, but we also wanted to give something exclusive! It’s the FrEEZ Flag greeting card! This greeting card will be the same as all other “limited edition” cards in terms of points. Each Camp FrEEZ camper will receive THREE cards.

Camp Competition Week 4

As announced earlier in the week, we decided to do one more weekly check-in! We thought everyone would appreciate an extra week of prizes before we announce the final results. Some final reminders for the rest of the competition:

  • Prizes for this week are starting to be awarded TODAY! It may take a while for everyone to receive their prizes, so please wait a few days before e-mailing support@munzee.com about Week 4 prizes.
  • Water Balloons and Flags will leave the map at August 9 at 23:59 MHQ.
    • You can check CuppaZee’s Camps Leaderboard to track your camp’s performance until this time. Then, the leaderboard will be closed as it needs some time to catch up with all the capture data and finish calculating all the point values.
  • Final results will be announced on August 11. These results will take the ENTIRE competition period into account, not just the period after this check-in.

Now that we’ve got all of that out the way, it’s time to announce the results for the past week! Congratulations to Camp FrEEZ for keeping its place at the top!

We’d also like to congratulate Camp QRantine for attaining the 2nd Place spot! It’s been a pretty fierce competition so we’re excited to see how it all turns out next week! Just a few more days to get your captures in!

A NEW Camp Critter To Love!

If you’re jealous of August MunzPak recipients because of the cute Camp Critters, but aren’t ready to commit to a MunzPak, or if you just want to surround yourself with as many cuddly creatures as possible, this is the option for you!

Bear Cub Camp Critter

While moose, foxes, and squirrels are definitely of the woodland realm, we couldn’t forget the most famous forest resident of all — the bear! Or in this case, the bear cub! If you’d like to make it yours, it is available at the Freeze Tag Online Store as an individual product! That’s right, you can now have up to four different Camp Critter types bouncing around the map!

This new temporary POB (tPOB) will be available for purchase for $5 from now until 12:00 MHQ on Monday Aug 17th. Each player can purchase up to two Bear Cubs total.

Like the other Camp Critters, the Bear Cub is a temporary POB. Similar to the Baby Squirrel, it will bounce to both physical and virtual munzees. It will stay on the map until 23:59 MHQ on Sept 30, when it will be automatically archived on your account. If you’ve ever deployed a Butterfly or Frog Evolution munzee, these will behave similarly with a few exceptions.

  • Deploy: 500 points
  • Capture: 200 points
  • CapOn: 100 points

This cute little critter just loves to play! Tag, Hide-and-Seek, Duck Duck Goose — you name it! Enjoy playing with it now, while it’s still small and can’t knock you over with its sheer strength! It scampers to the following:

  • Treehouse
  • Greenie
  • Earth Mystery
  • Water Mystery
  • Skyland
  • All Virtual Colors
  • Air Mystery
  • Campground Places

Like the other Camp Critters, it will be available for multi-capture. That means players can capture a Bear Cub on their own munzees, any previously captured munzees, and more than once if the same Bear Cub visits you. However, Bear Cubs are non-blastable. They will be attracted to either Physical Magnets or Virtual Magnets on their respective landing pads. You can access Bear Cubs under the “Only Expiring Specials” filter.

August 2020 MunzPak Contents Revealed!

In the Spring we had cute and colorful Baby Animals School Supplies to collect, but since everyone’s still away at Camp Munzee, we thought you’d be more in the mood to collect some cute camping gear-themed badges! Read on to find out more! For this month, each Pak includes a NEW Camp Critters Munzee, which is a temporary Player Owned Bouncer! We’re very excited to share these three new types with you. You can find a breakdown below!

MunzPak is a monthly subscription service that delivers munzees directly to your door! Each of our three MunzPak options contain a variety of munzees, including some new items that you won’t be able to find anywhere else! The three different types of MunzPaks that you can subscribe to each month are as follows:

  • Physical MunzPak features blocks of generic stickers and pre-coded stickers including brand new munzees which can only be purchased through the subscription service. $~25 value for $15 each month.

His antlers may be little more than stumps at the moment, but don’t underestimate his defense! A sharp kick with his tiny hooves can be devastating due to the small surface area! This hard-headed Camp Critter gallops to the following:

Baby Fox Camp Critters Munzee
Virtual MunzPak

You’ll see this critter’s tail before anything else! Although it’s admired for its beautiful, glossy red fur, it is quite shy. But its shyness doesn’t stop it from sneaking around to get what it wants! This wily Camp Critter scurries to the following:

  • Skyland
  • All Virtual Colors
  • Air Mystery
  • Campground Places

Baby Squirrel Camp Critters Munzee
Hybrid MunzPak

Its cute, innocent expression contrasts with its dragon-like hoarding tendencies! No nut, seed, or shiny thing is safe! Unfortunately, it also tends to forget where its treasures are hidden. This precocious Camp Critter Munzee climbs to the following:

  • Treehouse
  • Greenie
  • Earth Mystery
  • Water Mystery
  • Skyland
  • All Virtual Colors
  • Air Mystery
  • Campground Places

Camp Critters will be available for multi-capture. That means players can capture a Camp Critter on their own munzees, any previously captured munzees, and more than once if the same Camp Critter visits you. In virtual form, Camp Critters will be non-blastable. They will be attracted to Physical Magnets and Virtual Magnets. You can access Camp Critters under the “All Expiring Specials” filter.

All players who purchase a MunzPak (which will automatically deploy the respective Camp Critter) will also receive the respective deploy badge shown below:

Lastly, captures of these Camp Critters will contribute to progress towards its own Camp Critters badge line. These are the camping gear-themed badges we mentioned at the start of this post. You can sneak a peek at the first of these new badges below!

Remember these temporary POBs will only be available for capture until the end of September, so cap as many as you can and keep them bouncing!

Camp Competition Week 3

It’s time for another weekly check-in! We’re now in the home stretch, but we still wanted to give you some reminders as you continue Camp Munzee gameplay!

By now you should be familiar with CuppaZee’s Camps Leaderboard — but we don’t mind linking to it again! Maybe the only time you check it is when you read through this post!

Active players on ALL teams will receive prizes each week! Prizes for the previous week were awarded on Monday. If you were active (i.e. captured a munzee) during Week 2 and did not receive a prize (check your Item History on the Credits page), please e-mail support@munzee.com. Prizes for this week are starting to be awarded TODAY! It may take a while for everyone to receive their prizes, so please wait a few days before e-mailing Support about Week 3 prizes.

As we stated in the original blog post, the top team at the final check-in will receive double points on certain Myth captures for a whole month! We’re also planning to award additional prizes, but you’ll just have to wait and see!

Now that we’ve got all of that out the way, it’s time to announce the results for the past week! Congratulations to Camp FrEEZ for keeping its place at the top!

We’d also like to congratulate Camp Cap-A-Lot for attaining the 2nd Place spot! The point differences between the camps are smaller than the previous weeks, which shows that all camps are working hard and that you have to fight to keep your spot! Just one more week left — keep up the good work!
