Flat Day The 13th Pt II Specials

Just when you thought it was safe to go back to cap… it’s FLAT DAY THE 13TH: PART II- FLAT MATT’S REVENGE!

This Friday is a Friday the 13th so we wanted to celebrate with a sequel to last year’s Flat Day The 13th special. Starting at 00:01 MHQ on April 13th Masked Flat Matts will begin bouncing around the map until April 15th at 23:59 MHQ. Since Flat Matt was revealed as the true villain last Flat Day The 13th he’s come to exact his revenge! Flinging his lasso of tape, Flat Matt is vandalizing Greenies all across the world- it’s up to you and Flat Rob to stop him!

Although Flat Matt is usually a virtual game piece, this masked version of him bounces on greenies like other specials. 1,313 Masked Flat Matts will jump on Greenies every 6 hours or when capped. When a Masked Flat Matt is capped three “Meanie” specials will scatter to greenies within a 1/2 mile of the area. The greenies will be “Taped” for 2 hours or when capped.

Masked Flat Matts will be attracted to Munzee Magnets so be sure to stock up on those in the Freeze Tag Online Store.

You CAN capture these specials on your own greenies.

You’ll have the chance to earn the “Sticky Situation” badge for capturing a Masked Flat Matt special. Rumor is you might be able to earn a secret second badge too… be sure to cap as many Masked Flat Matts AND Meanies as you can…

Flat Day The 13th captures will also count toward the Specials Capture badges.

Announcing Mystery Munzee Capture and Deploy Badges!

The game is afoot! We’re excited to announce new badges for capturing and deploying Mystery and Mini Mystery Munzees.

Continuing the Deploy line started with the Watson and Holmes badges, you can now earn two new badges featuring some of Sherlock’s more colorful characters.

We have also released an all new line of badges for capturing Mystery and Mini Mystery Munzees. A detective must use all of his tools to his advantage if he hopes to solve the Mystery!

These badges won’t be easy to come by, but they are retroactive, so any of your past mystery solving will count toward these. The badges are now live and available to earn.

In celebration of those masterful mysteries, for a limited time you can purchase 5 Mini Mystery Munzees for $5 (regularly $7.50) in the Munzee Online Store. The sale will run until Sunday at 15:00 MHQ time so don’t tarry too long! Check them out HERE!

Introducing Myth Collector Badges!

With so many new Mythological Munzees popping up these days, you’d have to be crazy to go chasing after all of those kooky creatures. Luckily our players aren’t afraid of pushing the limits when it comes to capping munzees.

Myth Trapper – Capture 1,000 Mythological Munzees of any type.

So with that mind we’re happy to announce that a new line of badges have been released for capturing Myths of any type! Not for the faint of heart, these badges will tally up every Mythological Munzee you’ve ever captured.

Mythological Munzees:

  • Unicorn
  • Leprechaun
  • Dragon
  • Yeti
  • Faun
  • Hydra
  • Pegasus
  • Rainbow Unicorn
  • Gnome Leprechaun

The badges are retroactive, but you’ll only be able to see the requirements for the next badge once you complete the previous one. Once you earn the first in the set you’ll unlock the requirements for the next badge. All of the badges are live so you can start earning them now.

It won’t be easy to earn these badges, but we know you’ll brave the elements! Remember, you can increase your chances of finding Myths by using Elemental Munzees and Magnets.

Introducing the Freezer Burn badge!

We’re proud to announce a new challenge for our players: The Freezer Burn badge! You can earn this new badge by getting burned and frozen in the same day when capping the Fire and Ice Elemental Munzees.

The Freezer Burn badge is now live to earn, but it is not retroactive so you’ll need to prepare for some fresh burns and frostbite. We know this is no easy feat, so work with your fellow players and deploy Fire and Ice Munzees to better each others’ chances!

You can purchase an Elemental Munzee Pak in the Munzee online store, or buy individual elementals through authorized Munzee Resellers. Resellers will also have Ice Mystery Munzees on sale for 10% off.

Suffering from a brain freeze? Here’s a refresher on how each elemental effect works:

Fire Mystery Munzees

When you capture a Fire Mystery three Fires will then scatter to greenies within 1 mile. When you capture one of these Fires there is a chance you’ll extinguish the flame and earn 50 points. Unfortunately there’s also a chance you’ll get burned and LOSE 5 points. On the bright side you can earn badges for getting burned though!

Ice Mystery Munzees

Similar to the Fire, when you capture an Ice Mystery three Freezes will then scatter to greenies within 1 mile. Luckily you won’t lose any points for capturing a Freeze. Unfortunately there is also a chance you’ll be frozen and unable to play the game for one minute. Surviving the Ice Age might be worth it though because you can also earn some cool badges for getting frozen!

This Friday is a Friday the 13th so we wanted to celebrate with a nefarious new special. Starting at 00:01 MHQ on October 13th a Fiendish Flat Rob will begin bouncing around the map until October 15th at 23:59 MHQ. Traditionally Friday the 13th is considered to be a very unlucky day for all involved, so let’s hope you can turn your luck around a bit this weekend!

Although Flat Rob is usually a virtual game piece, this masked version of him bounces on greenies like other specials. 1,313 masked Flat Robs will jump on greenies every 6 hours or when capped. These will be attracted to Munzee Magnets so be sure to stock up on those in the Munzee Online Store.

Introducing Overall Destination Badges!

Room service, anyone?

We’re happy to announce that a new line of badges have been released for capturing and deploying Destination Munzees of any type. With rooms booked up so often we wanted to give our players even more of a reason to continue capturing and deploying Motels, Hotels, Virtual Resorts and Timeshares.

These new badges are retroactive, but you’ll only be able to see the requirements for the next badge once you complete the previous one.

Here’s a look at the first badge for each set.

Once you earn the first in the set you’ll unlock the requirements for the next badge. Please note that Rooms within Destination Munzees will not count toward these badges. All of the badges are live so you can start earning them now.

These badges may be a bit tough to earn, but nobody said building a Destination empire was easy!

Munzee Hurricane Harvey Relief Update!

A HUGE thank you is in order to all of our players worldwide! Through the sale of Water Mysteries and Assorted Mini Packs, as well as WallaBee Mixers, we gathered $7,500 in donations for Hurricane Harvey Relief!

This is a huge testament to the compassion of our community and our players all across the world. We have donated $7,000 of the funds to the American Red Cross in their constant relief efforts in South Texas, and preparation for Hurricane Irma bearing down on Florida. We’re also happy to announce that we have donated $500 to our friends at Shutt’er Down Ranch. They went down to Southeast Texas with supplies and helped rescue animals who were displaced due to the storm. Their work continues and we are happy to support them at this time.

We can’t express how proud we are to have such a great community that rallies around those in need. Thank you, again, for your support and generosity.

Introducing Places Streak Badges!

After expanding the Places capture badge line last week we’re excited to announce new streak badges for capturing Places Munzees! One of the great things about Places Munzees is that you can capture them every day and visit your favorite Places over and over again. Because of this we want our players to see how long they can keep the streak going.

To earn these badges you will just have to consecutively capture a Places Munzee for a week, a month and a year.

CAUTION: MUNZEERS AT WORK – Capture any Places Munzee for 7 days in a row.

Now even though you can cap the same Places Munzee everyday you can also earn the badge by capturing any Places Munzee worldwide. That way you can still travel and capture lots of fun Places all while keeping your streak going.

You can currently buy Places Munzees in the Munzee online store, so help out your fellow travelers and deploy a few Places! You can buy one of each Places Munzee a month.

These badges go live Thursday August 31st at 15:00 MHQ and they will be retroactive in case you’ve already started capping them daily.  We’re excited to see all the Places you’ll go! Good luck and Munzee on!

Hurricane Harvey Relief Sale

As you may know, Southeast Texas was hit by a major hurricane late last week. Hurricane Harvey was a Category 4 hurricane when it made landfall north of Corpus Christi, Texas and has since moved north causing catastrophic damage in the Houston area. It has also caused flooding in Austin and San Antonio and is expected to affect Louisiana as well.

Many members of Team Munzee have family and friends, including members of the Munzee community, who live in affected areas. This is a very worrisome time, and the impact of this disaster may have a global impact. We want to show that Munzee and our community are here to support those in need.

Starting at 12:00 MHQ time TODAY, Water Mystery Munzees and 20-packs of assorted mini generic munzees* will be on sale with 100% of the proceeds being donated to relief for victims of Hurricane Harvey via American Red Cross. Water Mystery Munzees (pack of 10) will be available for $15 and the 20-packs of assorted mini generic munzees will be available for $3.50. These will be available until Thursday, August 31st at 23:59 MHQ time.

All of those people that have been affected are in our thoughts, and we want to help as much as possible.

Introducing Specials Badges!

We’re excited to announce the release of a new line of badges for capturing special seasonal munzees!

Nearly every month we release new limited time specials and we want to award our players for capturing these year round! In the past we have released hoverboards, groundhogs and much more so always be on the lookout for new, unique specials.

The Specials Badges are now LIVE and you can start earning them when the next special is released! These badges will NOT be retroactive, but moving forward every new seasonal special we release will count. They may not be totally retroactive, but these badges will include all captures from the World Turtle Day specials that went out in May.

You might also keep your eyes out, we hear someone’s birthday is coming up…

These badges will remain hidden so we can keep you guessing, but here is a look at the first badge:
