Mystery Munzee Point Increase!

If you’ve been paying attention, you may have noticed that we have slowly been rolling out point updates to a variety of different munzee types. We’re excited to announce that Mystery Munzee points are the latest to be updated! Starting NOW the points for Capturing, Deploying and Cap-Ons for Mystery and Mini Mystery Munzees has been increased to the following:

  • Deploy: 60
  • Capture and CapOn: Split 80 with a minimum of 20 as multiples of 5 (20/60, 30/50, 45/35, etc.)

With this point increase comes a merger of Mini Mysteries and Mysteries as well. Moving forward, both will just be called “Mysteries” regardless of their size**. Please note that this point increase is not retroactive, so past deploys and captures will not be increased.

In celebration of the new Mystery Munzee point structure we have a special offer in the Freeze Tag Online Store! From now until Wednesday at 23:59 MHQ if you buy two packs of Mystery Munzees (5 Pack) you’ll be given *additional stickers in each pack! To take advantage of this offer just buy a minimum of 2 Mystery Munzees in the online store, no code is necessary. Each additional set of 2 purchased will receive added free stickers.

The prevailing theory is that all these recent point increases are linked to the development of Munzee 4.0- and you wouldn’t be wrong in thinking that! Others seem to think the point increases are a drive to promote the physical side of Munzee gameplay and we agree with that theory as well! So stay tuned for more information regarding 4.0, point increases and more.

Premium Sale Extended!

We have extended our 10% off sale on Premium Munzee Memberships to Monday at 10:00 MHQ. You can purchase your membership in the Freeze Tag Online Store HERE.

One of the many features available to Premium members is the ability to add photos to the Munzees you capture. This gives both the owner of the Munzee and other players the chance to see how much fun you had finding it! It is especially fun for those myths and alternamyths!

We’ll have some news next week regarding a special photo contest specific to adding photos to Munzees. So you might want to take advantage of the membership while it’s on sale! Again, we’ll have more information next week, but get ready to say cheese!

Premium Munzee Point Update, Discounted Premium Memberships, and More!

We’re excited to announce that we have increased the points for Premium Munzees! Starting NOW the points for Capturing, Deploying and Cap-Ons for Premium Munzees has been increased to the following:

  • Deploy: 200
  • Capture: 50
  • CapOn: 50

Remember that you can only receive a Premium Munzee with the purchase of an annual Premium Membership.

We have also extended the Premium badge line as well. So if you have been a Premium Member since we started the program you’ll have the possibility to earn a few more badges. These badges (one for each year of renewal) are retroactive and you can earn them now! They are not actually earned based on number of years as a Premium Member, but instead by the number of Premium Munzees you have deployed. If you have Premium credits in your account, NOW is the time to get them deployed!

To celebrate we are having a Premium Membership sale! Starting NOW Premium Munzee Memberships will be 10% off in the Online store until Friday at 10:00 MHQ. To sweeten the pot, all Premium Members will receive a Golden Carrot Evolution Munzee credit on Friday at 10:00 MHQ. Golden Carrots will also see a point increase at that time.

Friday The 13th Clowns!

Prepare for an emotional roller coaster on Friday the 13th! Don’t be too frightened by the Scary Clown and turn that frown upside down for the Sad Clown. These two new Clown Scatter Specials have been released into the wild!

Starting now when you capture a bouncing Clown Car special, there is a chance any assortment of clowns will scatter within 1 mile for two hours. These include the five previously released as well as the two new clowns. All of these specials will last until July 31 at 23:59.

Be sure to capture one of each of the seven clowns to earn a badge!

Two New Clown Scatter Specials!

Send in the clowns! These birthday specials are the gift that keeps on giving. Two new Clown Scatter Specials have been released into the wild!

Starting now when you capture a bouncing Clown Car special, there is a chance any assortment of clowns will scatter within 1 mile for two hours. These include the three previously released (Party Clown, Rodeo Clown, and Harlequin Clown) as well as the two new clowns: the Mime and the Tramp. All of these specials will last until July 31 at 23:59.

Clown Car Birthday Specials

Welcome to Cirque Du Munz! Our Circus themed seventh birthday celebration is about to get a bit sillier. We’re happy to announce that Clown Car birthday specials will be rolling into a town near you!

Starting on July 6 at 00:01 MHQ 2,011 bouncing Clown Car icons will hit the map.  These colorful coupes will bounce on greenies every 6 hours or when capped. What’s a clown car without clowns though? Once a Clown Car special is captured, between one and three different clown icons will scatter on greenies within 1 mile for two hours. Since this is Munzee’s Birthday month all of these specials will last until July 31 at 23:59.

POINTS:

Clown Car
Capture – 77; CapOn – 11

Clown Scatter
Capture – 37; CapOn – 11

There just might be a badge or two for capturing Clown Car specials and the different Clown scatters. Since these will be on the map for the remainder of the month you might want to capture as many as you can. You never know what you might earn!

New Towel Day Badges!

DON’T PANIC… It’s Towel Day!

Now as some of you may have noticed, there has been an error with the badge image for this event. The dreaded Error 42 screen has popped up on screens across the world. Well luckily just in time for the official Towel Day on May 25th, our developers have fixed the issue! Turns out someone gave them the wrong file. Simple mistake obviously.

So starting NOW you’ll notice that the Error 42 badge has been replaced with new artwork from guest artist Andy Cameron of WallaBee fame! We can’t take all the credit for this badge though. Well, we could, but that wouldn’t be very cool of us.

Don’t Panic- Capture one Towel Day Special.

We’re also excited to offer a new challenge for the weekend! We’ve released a new badge for capturing 42 Towel Day Specials. Why 42? Well it’s the Ultimate Answer to Life, The Universe and Everything, of course. What was the Ultimate Question to Life, The Universe and Everything? Well that’s a question for another time.

The Answer To Life– Capture 42 Towel Day Specials.

These badges are retroactive, so if you’ve already captured 1-42 Towel Day Specials you will have earned both badges. Also please note that both the Towel Day Specials and the Hitchhiker Special scatters will count toward the badge.

Remember that 1,979 Munzee Towel Day Specials will be on the map until May 27th at 23:59, so be sure to cap as many as you can this weekend.

Expanded Prize Wheel Badges!

Step on up and try your luck! We’ve added new levels to our line of Prize Wheel Capture Badges!

Admittedly the first line of Prize Wheel badges were maybe a bit TOO easy to beat so we’ve stepped up the requirements for these new ones substantially! These badges continue to show off some of the prizes you might get playing carnival games.

New Prize Wheel badges are now live to earn and they are retroactive. Help out your fellow players and deploy a few Prize Wheels too! We’ve put Prize Wheel 5 packs back on sale for $17.50 (regularly $25). These will be on sale until Monday at 10:00 MHQ time, so don’t waste any time.

Towel Day 2018 Specials

DON’T PANIC.

We’ve got a new special in celebration of the fandom holiday Towel Day! On May 25th each year fans of “The Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy” series carry towels in remembrance of author Douglas Adam’s work. Why towels you may ask? Well in Adam’s own words “A towel, it says, is about the most massively useful thing an interstellar hitchhiker can have. Partly it has great practical value… More importantly, a towel has immense psychological value.”

Since we like to celebrate things a bit early, starting May 18th at 00:01 MHQ time 1,979 Munzee Towel Day Specials will be on the map until May 27th at 23:59 on . These specials will bounce on greenies every six hours or when capped. As we all know, a towel with a “Thumbs Up” is the universal symbol for intergalactic hitchhikers, so when you cap a Munzee Towel Special three Hitchhiker Specials will be scattered to greenies within a 1/2 mile for 2 hours or when capped. Better pick up those hitchhikers before somebody like a Vogon or a pair of mice does. That would be unfortunate.

Points: 

Towel Day Special:
Capture/Cap-On: Split of 42 with minimum of 5.

Hitchhiker Special:
Capture: 21
Cap-On: 21

You’ll earn a badge for capturing one of the Towel Day Specials, but we’re going to keep the artwork a surprise because it’s THAT COOL. How cool? So cool that it will definitely live up to the hype. What could possibly go wrong with hyping up artwork that has certainly already been completed?

Announcing Rock, Paper, Scissors Badges!

Rock. Paper. Scissors. SHOOT!

We’re excited to announce a new line of badges for capturing and deploying Rock, Paper, Scissors Munzees! As part of the gaming line, RPS Munzees actually include a mini game of Rock, Paper, Scissors which you can earn more points for winning. Since this is such a unique type of Munzee there’s a special third line of badges for winning games of RPS too!

We’ll just show the first of each badge line for now, but you can probably guess the themes for each:

Capture:

Paper Boy- Capture 10 Rock Paper Scissors Munzees

Deploy:

Rock vs Scissors- Deploy 1 Rock Paper Scissors Munzee

Winning:

Bronze Paper- Win 1 game of Rock Paper Scissors.

These badges won’t be easy to come by, but they are retroactive, so your past captures, deploys and wins will count toward these. The badges are now live and available to earn.

Help out your fellow players by deploying RPS stickers as well! For a limited time you can purchase 5 RPS Munzees for $3.50 (regularly $5) in the Munzee Online Store.

You can also pick up another gaming munzee on sale too. For a limited time Prize Wheel 5 packs are on sale for $17.50 (regularly $25). These are great if you still need to earn the Prize Wheels badges. Who knows, maybe that badge line will be extended in the future too…
