Put Pen to Paper — or Rather, Fingers to Keys — With Craig’s Flat Object!

At MHQ, we like to keep our players on their toes. We had quite a gap between the Flat Disc Golf Basket and the Flat Flashlight, and now, just over a month later, another new Flat Object?! Well, this month is National Novel Writing Month, aka NaNoWriMo, so we couldn’t pass up this opportunity, as you’ll see! The rest of the MHQ staff has been using their spare moments thoughtfully designing their own Flat Object, so we hope you keep an eye out for them as they are released!

The fourth Flat Object is brought to you by Craig, the CEO! Don’t be intimidated by his title — Craig is one of the more outgoing members of the team who enjoys chatting with players at Munzee Events and learning what makes them tick (not that the rest of us don’t enjoy it — it just seems to come naturally to Craig, without any shyness or awkwardness). For those who haven’t been fortunate enough to get to know him, or would like a refresher, you can check out his most recent Meet Munzee Munzday post HERE!

In his spare time, Craig turns to writing to give his creative juices an outlet. Did you know that he’s written plays that have been produced by theater companies?! It was definitely exciting for us to learn! For his Flat Object, he decided on a beloved symbol of writers everywhere — the Typewriter! Read on to learn more!

Flat Typewriter Details

The Flat Typewriter joins the Flats as a virtual type. It is currently available in the Freeze Tag Store HERE!

More Evolutions for Mitmegu!

With the release of the Void Mystery last month, all the conditions for NEW Mitmegu Evolutions (aka “Megu-lutions”) to emerge have been met! To celebrate we’ve also expanded how many Mitmegus you can own! Mitmegu and other shape-shifting friends have also been added back to the Freeze Tag Online Store HERE! Read on to learn more!

NEW Evolution Details

As before, unlike other Pouch Creatures, Mitmegu will change forms depending on what it lands on and capture streaks will not impact the changing critter’s evolution.

With the addition of these evolutions, the regular Mitmegu is now only cappable on Greenies.

However, if the Mitmegu lands on an Elemental Mystery, it will change forms!

  • If Mitmegu lands on a Water Mystery it turns into Jootmegu
  • If Mitmegu lands on an Earth Mystery it turns into Rohimegu
  • If Mitmegu lands on a Fire Mystery it turns into Lokemegu
  • NEW! If Mitmegu lands on an Air Mystery it turns into Ohkmegu
  • NEW! If Mitmegu lands on an Electric Mystery it turns into Murinmegu
  • NEW! If Mitmegu lands on a Void Mystery it turns into Urgasmegu

As a refresher, the points for Mitmegu and its Megu-lutions are as follows:

  • Mitmegu
    • Deploy: 250
    • Capture: 200
    • CapOn: 100
    • CapOn (Host Owner): 50
  • Megu-lutions
    • Capture: 400
    • CapOn: 100
    • CapOn (Host Owner): 50

Mitmegu will retain its number when it changes, and if you upgrade and change its name it will keep that name on all forms. Players can cap Mitmegu on their own munzees as well. You can find Mitmegu by turning on your “All Expiring Specials,” “All Limited Edition Specials,” or “All Pouch Creatures” filters. This new Pouch Creature WILL be attracted to physical magnets, but only as Mitmegu on Greenies.

Badges

Like the first batch, there will also be three badges to earn per variant. This means there are now 22 badges in the Mitmegu line (1 deploy badge + 3 capture badges * 7 forms).

Shape Shifters Return to Store!

Remember you can now own multiple Mitmegu, so they have been added back in the Freeze Tag Online Store from 12:00 MHQ on Monday, October 4th to 12:00 MHQ on Monday, November 1st! You’ll find our other shape-shifting Pouch Creatures on sale as well!

Are You Afraid of the Dark? Fight Back With Tamara’s Flat Object!

Time flies when you’re having fun! We’ve certainly enjoyed playing with Robbie’s Flat Disc Golf Basket — it had its own special, limited-time scatters, and was also part of the most recent Flat Day the 13th! Can you believe it was released all the way back in April?! The rest of the MHQ staff has been using their spare moments thoughtfully designing their own Flat Object, so we hope you keep an eye out for them as they are released!

The third Flat Object is brought to you by Tamara, a Product Manager in training! Many of you may not know Tamara as a lot of the things she does is behind-the-scenes — but for the past few years, you’ve all been reading her writing! For those who haven’t been fortunate enough to get to know her, or would like a refresher, you can check out her most recent Meet Munzee Munzday post HERE!

Tamara’s Flat Object features a humble tool you probably have in your home. As a fan of the mystery and horror genres, she’s created a Flat Flashlight game piece that should keep you well-equipped for the upcoming spooky season. Read on to learn more!

Flat Flashlight Details

The Flat Flashlight joins the Flats as a virtual type. It is currently available in the Freeze Tag Store HERE!

Did You Get Our Invite? More 10th Annual Award ZEEson Ceremony Details!

We first posted our invitations yesterday on social media to give you a heads-up — now we have a few more details filled in!

Some slightly more detailed info in list form:

  • We are shooting for a start time of 14:30 MHQ on July 29. In the case of any technical difficulties, we will let you know of any new start times as soon as we can.
  • You will be able to view the LIVE video on our Facebook Page HERE!
  • As usual, Facebook should automatically post the completed recording on the page once the live video is over, so if you’re not able to watch it live, you can still have your own Award Ceremony experience afterwards! We’ll post the link to the recording here as well.

We are also brainstorming more fun and interesting honors to bestow in the 10 months following our 10th birthday — in particular, ones that feature newer players, as more established players have certainly had an advantage in the awards we’ve come up with so far.

Universals are Back for our 10th Birthday!

When we were teasing the release of the 10th Birthday Mailbox, we asked what birthday-related things you were hoping to see. Some of you mentioned Universals, and we were happy to know that you were interested in them making a comeback as well, since one was already in the works! Get your all new 10th Birthday Universal HERE!

Similar to our thoughts with the Bash from the Past Universal, if you’ll be attending a 10th Birthday Event but don’t feel safe touching and scanning others’ Personal Tags, ask other attendees to share their Universal code (if they have one) online so you can scan it from your home. Of course, the same goes if you are not attending any events but want to join in on the fun virtually — play your way!

Universally United

Featuring some of the golden trophy designs used in the app during the past 10 years, it has the best of both Social and Personal Munzee functionality as other players can capture it from anywhere in the world AND activity on it will earn you points. However, as this makes it incredibly valuable, we are limiting it to 1 per player. You can find this limited edition Universal HERE!

This 10th Birthday Universal is a limited release item only available through August 2 at 10:00 MHQ.

A Universal has the same point structure as a regular Personal:

  • Capture: mystery random points 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45
  • CapOn: sum of 50 between player capture and residual
    • Example: player capture = 30, owner residual = 20. Total = 50
  • Deploy: 100 points (only deploy it once with no proximity or expiration!)
  • **Boosters will have no effect on Universal points.

You can find your Universal in the My Social Munzees section of the app, or the corresponding page on the website.

Unlike the Bash from the Past Universals, these 10th Birthday Universals will be auto-deployed upon purchase!

A Virtual Nomad to Carry Your Bags!

After much code wrangling, we are happy to announce the release of new Virtual Bellhop Nomads! Similar to the Jewel Thief and Warrior Nomads, the original Bellhop Nomads were only bouncing to the physical types of their corresponding landing pad categories.

10 NEW Virtual Bellhop Nomads have been unleashed on the map. To keep the total number of each type at 20, this means that 10 of the original Virtual Bellhop Nomads will be removed. Like other nomads, they will bounce every 12 hours or when captured.

These captures will also count toward the Nomad Munzee Badge Line.

Landing Pads:

Points:

  • Capture: 500
  • CapOn (for host owner): 250

Better your chances at capping a Virtual Bellhop Nomad by deploying a Virtual Destination Munzee near you! Please note that Skylands are not included in its list of landing pads. If you don’t already have any Virtual Destination Munzees in your inventory, you can shop the collection at the Freeze Tag Store, or perhaps make a trade with other players who have them stocked up!
