Lefties Unite! To celebrate International Left Handers Day and all of our left-handed players, we’ve put together a fun new special for the weekend. Starting at 00:01 MHQ on Friday August 11th, 1,976 Left Handed icons will be on the map until 23:59 MHQ on Sunday August 13th.
The Leftie Specials will bounce on greenies every 6 hours or when captured. To celebrate the 10% of the population that is left handed these specials will also have a 10% chance of scattering a Left Handed Thumbs Up icon.
Points for these specials are as follows:
Left Handed Icon: Split of 76 points between the capture and the host owner with a minimum of 19
Left Handed Thumbs Up Icon: 76 points for Capture and CapOn
You can also earn a badge for capturing both the Left Handed Special and the Left Handed Thumbs Up.
Remember that these will count towards the Specials Badges and you can use Magnets to draw them out. You can also capture these specials on your own munzees.

Birthday month has come and gone and with the help of our players we celebrated six years in a very big way! Take a look back on some of the things that happened last month and what to expect this month as well!
We ended Birthday Month with some HUGE news: Munzee and our partner Freeze Tag Inc.are merging companies! For the last year, Munzee and Freeze Tag have been working together in various ways on Garfield GO! and as the saying goes “two heads are better than one.” The leadership team at Freeze Tag are top notch guys with vast experience in building apps and bringing in new players.
We are excited to see their team join the Munzee family and help us all Grow the Game(s)!
Birthday BAM!
To celebrate 6 spectacular years, we released Comic Book special iconsfor the entire month. When captured the specials scattered three onomatopoeia icons- BAM!, POW! and BANG! Players who managed to capture all 3 were able to earn a special comic book panel badge too!
These alongside the Munzee Magnets were an awesome way to kick off Birthday Month!
Extraordinary Events
Birthday Events were a huge hit last month! There were 110 events that took place throughout July and the 6th Birthday Super Rob special was capped an amazing 4,673 times! We also reached new highs with the events in Germany being the first to hit over 250 attendees, something we haven’t even done at MHQ! Thank you to all of our awesome Event Hosts!

Last month we were proud to announce that Places Munzeesare now available to the public for purchase! Now players can deploy their own Airports, Sports Stadiums, Wildlife and Museum munzees all across the world.

This virtual Elemental Munzee is the first of it’s kind and is currently exclusive to Virtual MunzPak subscribers in August. When capped, the Air Mystery Munzee scatters three temporary virtual Feathers. When those feathers are captured, they have a chance of throwing three ultra rare temporary virtual Golden Feathers.

Birthday month has officially ended, but it was a resounding success. Members of Team Munzee loved visiting player events all across the world, which couldn’t have been done without the help of Louise, the Munzee Events Manager. Check out her quick recap of last month’s festivities!
It’s August, our birthday month is finally over, wow, what a busy month that was!!!
Thank you to all of you for your incredible support of Munzee events last month. There were 110 events that took place throughout July and the 6th Birthday Super Rob special was capped an amazing 4,673 times! We gave out thousands of Emeralds with the Dan the Man special and have some fantastic new gardens around the world. We also reached new highs with the events in Germany being the first to hit over 250 attendees, something we haven’t even done at MHQ!
I particularly enjoyed working with new hosts last month, great to see players stepping forward to grow the game in their areas. Please feel free to get into hosting at any time. I will guide you through the whole process and issue you with all the instructions and information you need.
Thank you also for your patience with me over the last month, I was extremely busy with my bicycle races too. Happy to report they are all now completed and I had a wonderful time and picked up a few more wins and fantastic experiences both in England and the French Alps.
I am now recovering at MHQ and catching up with work. I am still shutting down some of the birthday events and awarding host badges so don’t worry if you haven’t got yours yet!

These scattered feathers will not land on other munzees but instead will be newly deployed munzees that will be archived after capture or time has expired.

We’re also excited to announce that this month’s physical MunzPak subscribers will receive the all new Zodiac Munzee credit. This credit item works just like the regular Zodiacs, but instead of choosing which month you want to deploy the credit will automatically deploy as the current month. This means it will be worth double points as soon as you deploy it!

I’d like to communicate a new step in the evolution of Munzee Inc. Before I go any further I’d like to assure everyone, the Munzee family of games (Munzee, WallaBee, Eventzee) you’ve come to know and love will remain the same, if not better. Now that we are clear on that topic I’d like to give you some information on a formal merger of Munzee Inc. and Freeze Tag Inc.
For the last year, Munzee and Freeze Tag have been working together in various ways on Garfield GO! The app is powered, in part, by worldwide Munzee locations deployed by you, our amazing players. Many ideas incorporated into current gameplay are adapted from suggestions provided during early testing by Munzee players. The leadership team at Freeze Tag are top notch guys with vast experience in building apps and bringing in new players. We are excited to see their team join the Munzee family and help us all Grow the Game(s)!
The main reasoning behind the merger is the old saying, “two heads are better than one”. Both companies have done quite a bit of work together and we both believe we are stronger together than separate. In addition to key leadership, Freeze Tag brings experience in licensing deals, having provided the contact that brought the virtual Garfield trail in Muncie Indiana, in the Munzee app.
It would be completely wrong for me not to recognize the work Aaron, Scott, Chris, and Josh did to found this game, in July 2011. Without their idea and tireless (unpaid) work from day one none of us would be playing this game we all love so much. I’m thankful for the opportunity Aaron gave me 5 years ago to start as player and business relations. I felt at home and have loved every minute as the Chief Everything Officer, but it’s time for Munzee to grow beyond my individual knowledge and training.
October 4th will be 4 years since I took over as President, and I’m excited to expand that role into a larger company. I will be President of the newly merged company, and the best part is, I get to return to my passion; ideas, gameplay, community, and making a difference in the lives of our team and collective communities.
The future for the game of Munzee is so bright, with continued focus on WallaBee and Eventzee as well. We also look forward to working on AR components, and additional location-based advertising. All of these things fall in line with the direction we’ve been moving on our own, but we expect to accelerate the pace with our upcoming merged family.
Thank you to all of our players for standing by our side and growing the game over the last six years. As we embark on this new adventure, we’re excited for all of the future possibilities you have helped make reality.

Agents, despite our best attempts to keep this confidential, Director Zee is missing. After being replaced by the Dictator last month, his whereabouts have become unknown. Despite his absence, it’s up to ZeeOps Agents worldwide to continue their missions and protect the world.
Random archaic weapons shipments have begun popping up all over the world. You’ll need to investigate this by capturing and deploying Clan Weapon Munzees throughout the month.
The Clan Weapons that have begun to pop up all over the world may contain a hidden message from Director Zee. As a collector of weaponry of all sorts, Director Zee may be using these weapon deploys as a communication tactic. It is up to you to save Director Zee from whomever holds his fate.

LEVEL 1
Basic Training +- Earn at least 1,000 points. Defensive Training- Deploy at least 10 munzees. Offensive Training- Capture at least 25 munzees. Back To Barbarianism I- Deploy at least 10 Clan Weapons of any kind. Back To Barbarianism II- Capture at least 25 Clan Weapons of any kind.
LEVEL 2:
Group Training +- Earn at least 1,000 CapOn points. Weaponized- Capture at least 15 Clan Weapons and deploy at least 5 Clan Weapons of any kind. A Study In Swords- Capture at least 40 Clan Weapons of any kind. Axe And You Shall Receive- Deploy at least 25 Clan Weapons of any kind. Virtual Surreality- Capture at least 100 virtual munzees of any type.
LEVEL 3:
Advanced Training- Earn at least 10,000 points. Always Aware- Deploy at least 50 physical munzees of any type. CLANdestine- Deploy at least 40 Clan Weapons of any kind. First Is The Worst- Capture at least 50 Clan Weapons of any kind. Virtual Virus 2- Capture at least 250 virtual munzees of any type.
LEVEL 4:
Expert Training- Earn at least 50,000 points. At The Helm- Deploy at least 100 greenies. Armory Amendments- Deploy at least 60 Clan Weapons of any kind. The First- Capture at least 75 Clan Weapons and deploy at least 35 Clan Weapons of any kind. Co-Founding Fathers- Capture at least 250 physical type munzees.
Completing Operations will give you some hard earned rewards as well.
