These board-game bots will make a move towards the landing pads listed above every 6 hours or when captured.

They will be available for multi-capture. That means players can capture them on their own munzees, any previously captured munzees, and more than once if the same mech visits you. They are non-blastable. They will be attracted to both Physical Magnets and Virtual Magnets. You can access these mechz by turning on your “All Expiring Specials” filter.

When a Pawnster is captured, it will scatter up to 3 Pawnstaves on the Mech owner’s account. Similarly, when a Knightmare is captured, it will scatter up to 3 Knightswords on the Mech owner’s account.

The galaxy is divided. A storm is brewing between two mighty factions—and only YOU can determine who will reign supreme! This May, we’re channeling the power of the Force and the Flat, as a fun rivalry unfolds between Rob (aka coachV), President of Munzee and leader of the ironclad ROB Republic, and SMS, our newest recruit known across the stars as Seemyshell, commander of the rogue SMS Squad!

Whose side will you take? Will you support the polished rules of the Republic or embrace the rebellious spirit of the Squad? Your captures and deploys will tip the balance! Follow the live action on the official ROB vs SMS Leaderboard, masterfully crafted by the legendary Sam of CuppaZee! The battle starts Thursday, May 1st at 00:01 MHQ and ends May 31st at 23:59 MHQ.

Join in the battle, help them climb the leaderboard, and score some sweet rewards along the way!

From NOW through the 20th, the Flat Fountain Pen will be scattering delightful doodlez when captured. Though they are monochromatic, thanks to Andy’s artistic abilities, they are quite the characters! Read on to preview the NEW art Andy has created for this event!

Limited Time Scatter Details

🎭 Traveling Troupe Specials Return With NEW Performers! 🎪

As the weather transitions from Winter to Spring, the Traveling Troupe is taking advantage of the pleasant temperatures! From NOW until Tuesday, April 8th at 23:59 MHQ the Traveling Troupe will be bouncing around the map. For this particular festival there will be SEVEN different performers, but don’t be surprised if the Traveling Troupe stagecoach returns in the future with a new set of acts! So be sure to check out the show before they leave and then rediscover the bouncer again the next time it returns to town.

Like last time, Traveling Troupe specials will be released in waves, but will end at a total of 3,000 on the map. They will bounce around every 4 hours or when capped. These stagecoaches are Munzee Owned Bouncers (MOBs) but they will land on Flat Munzees all across the realm!

🐚 Welcome, Seemyshell!

We have some VERY exciting news here at MHQ that we can’t wait to share! You may already be familiar with the incredible Aussie Vlogger, Craig Michell, better known in the Munzee community as “Seemyshell“. His enthusiasm for Munzee is unmatched, and his contributions to the community have been truly inspiring. That’s why we’re thrilled to announce that Craig is officially joining the Freeze Tag Family as part of the Munzee Team!

Craig’s Munzee journey is a remarkable one. After many years of serving the Australian community in policing, Craig found himself needing help with his mental health, motivation, and social skills. Rediscovering Munzee in his small town became a turning point for him. Using Munzee as a reason to get outside and walk, Craig began to rebuild his life, gaining motivation and finding joy in connecting with the world around him.

Fast forward four years, and Craig is not only back to his old self but has become a prominent figure in the location-based gaming community. Through his YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok channels (@TheAussieGeocacherSeemyshell), Craig shares his adventures and excitement for Munzee with the world. He is also a part of three different regular podcasts, including the beloved Munzee Podcast he co-hosts with our very own Rob. Craig’s unique hat and ever-present camera have become iconic in the Munzee and geocaching communities.

Over the last year we’ve been slowly rolling out gameplay featuring our furry friend Cappy The Unicorn! He ushered in the Daily Stroll to help encourage continued activity, celebrated the New Dawn Festival, popped up in a few Greeting Cards, and even made a brief appearance in a Secret ZeeOps. Well, we’re excited to announce Cappy is now heralding a soft rebranding of the Munzee game!

Munzee has always been about adventuring into the world around you, but our team has been hard at work infusing a new story-driven fantasy campaign at the heart of the game.

Welcome to the realm of Munzee, where Cappy has recruited you to help magical creatures like dragons return to their home worlds through the capture of munzee game pieces! This fresh coat of paint comes in the form of an app update that perfectly captures the experience of chasing after myths. Out the gate you’ll be met with a colorful new loading bar and sign up screens that will welcome players new and old as they embark on their journey. For new adventurers, Cappy has taken over tutorial duties to give newbies the rundown and explain his mission in the realm.

The purpose of this initiative is to provide a unified gameplay experience for new and veteran players alike, and appeal to larger audiences in a competitive market of location-based games. Over the next few months we will continue work on new features that help onboard players into the world of Munzee, and Cappy will be a guiding force in that process. We’re so thankful for the patience of our veteran players as we usher in a new era of Munzee. Although some stylistic changes are on the forefront, the game you know and love isn’t going anywhere. It’s more important than ever that our Munzee community plays an active role in helping new players learn the complexities of the game.

We’re very proud of the artistry WallaBee Illustrator Andy Cameron has helped bring to life, and we hope you will all embrace the new look!
