Introducing the Flat Cup!

With the exciting announcement of Sam and CuppaZee joining the Freeze Tag family, we figured it was time for a CuppaZee-inspired Flat Object! So sit back, relax, and enjoy a nice cup of coffee while reading up on this new Flat!

Sam’s Flat Object is inspired by the logo of CuppaZee…a cup of coffee! Those late nights coding the Munzee companion app are powered by caffeine and sweat, so what better representation of the hardworking Sam? Read on to learn more!

Flat Cup Details

The Flat Cup joins the Flats as a virtual type. It is currently available in the Freeze Tag Store HERE!

Capture Radius: 300 feet, blastable

Proximity: 50 feet from other players’ Flats, 150 feet from your own.

Deploy: 19 points

Capture: Split 95 points with a minimum of 19 Points

CapOn: Split 95 points with a minimum of 19 Points

Meet…PR1NC3SS Lou-a!

By this point, we’ve all become very acquainted with the metallic Mech himself, D4RTH Vardeman. But, every dark lord needs a light lady – and that’s where PR1NC3SS Lou-a comes in! This pink princess keeps D4RTH Vardeman in line, and looks FABULOUS while doing it! She is currently $7.50 and she’s available NOW! PR1NC3SS Lou-a will be leaving the store on Thursday, June 1st, 2023 at 12:00 MHQ, so don’t wait! Purchasing will auto-deploy this mech and give you the blueprint for you to craft next time! Like the other Munzee Mechz, she is a temporary POB. PR1NC3SS Lou-a will remain on the map until she has been captured 5 times. You will receive the Blueprint to rebuild her when you have earned enough Cogs in the future. It will cost 7 Cogs to rebuild this mech.

Landing Pads

You can find this mechanical maven at the landing pads above every 6 hours or when captured.

PR1NC3SS Lou-a will be available for multi-capture. That means players can capture PR1NC3SS Lou-a on their own munzees, any previously captured munzees, and more than once if the same PR1NC3SS Lou-a visits you. PR1NC3SS Lou-a is non-blastable. She will be attracted to both Physical Magnets and Virtual Magnets. You can access it by turning on your “All Expiring Specials” filter.

When PR1NC3SS Lou-a is captured, she will scatter up to 3 Bike Buns!

  • Capture: 50
  • CapOn: 25-30

These scatters will be visible to any player and will be deployed on the Mech owner’s account. This means that unlike Air Mystery Feathers/Boulders, there are CapOn points for the owner! They expire after 120 minutes and have a capture radius of 300 feet. These scatters will NOT count for deploy streaks, ZeeOps, or clan activity since they are passive deploys.

Badges

Deploying PR1NC3SS Lou-a will earn you the corresponding Blueprint badge, which you can see below. There is also a badge that you can earn by capturing PR1NC3SS Lou-a — but we’ll keep it a secret for now.

Weekend App Issues Update

Dear Munzee players,

MHQ would like to take a moment to apologize for the recent server errors that caused the app to be offline multiple times this weekend. We understand how frustrating it is to experience these issues while playing the game, especially on a Double Point Weekend and with events also taking place.

We want to assure you that we are working diligently to resolve the server issues that caused the crash. Unfortunately on Saturday one of our cache servers went down, which caused errors to start rolling in and crash the game. It had trouble rebooting and needed additional assistance from third-party support in order to get everything back up and running again. On Sunday we experienced issues with multiple failing API servers, which took a bit longer than expected to terminate and resolve. Our team is conducting a thorough investigation to determine the root cause of the problem and taking measures to prevent it from happening again in the future. The scheduled maintenance posted for later today is just one of many steps we’re taking to work towards resolving these issues.

We understand that Munzee is more than just a game to you; it’s a community where you can connect with like-minded individuals and enjoy the outdoors. We also understand communities depend on transparency and communication in order to flourish. That’s why we feel particularly remorseful for any inconvenience these issues may have caused this weekend. The Munzee team is a part of the Freeze Tag family, which is made up of many individuals working together to keep our games ambitious, and dependable. When issues like these arise the entire team feels the weight of it, so please know we do not take any of this lightly.

As a gesture of our commitment to making things right, we have rewarded all players who capped or deployed on Saturday or Sunday. You will find these items in your credits list. We’ve also removed May 6th and 7th as days that could ruin a capture or deploy streak. We will also be monitoring Clan progress and making a decision regarding whether or not changes will be made to requirements by May 15th.

We value your continued support and loyalty to Munzee and hope to regain your trust and confidence in our app’s performance. We promise to keep you informed of any updates and progress on resolving this issue.

May the Fourth Be With You and Munzee On!

Welcome, CuppaZee!

We have some VERY exciting news here at MHQ that we can’t wait to share! We’re sure you all know and LOVE the amazing app, CuppaZee – and we do too! The creator, Sam Hindess, is doing AMAZING things over there, and his dedication to Munzee and CuppaZee is super inspiring. With all that being said, we’re extremely happy to announce that Sam and CuppaZee are now officially joining the Freeze Tag Family!

Sam started playing Munzee in 2013, being an avid Munzee player for almost a decade before joining Freeze Tag. For over half of that time playing, Sam had been developing CuppaZee, initially a 3rd party companion website (and later mobile app) for the game, regularly expanding its feature set based on the wants and needs of other players.

The CuppaZee app allows Munzee players to track their daily activity and ZeeOps progress, as well as keep track of items in their inventory and the locations of their bouncers. These features have become invaluable to the thousands of players who utilize the app!

This partnership between CuppaZee and Munzee will allow us to bring some very cool updates to you in the near future, so keep an eye out!

And now, a word from Sam:

These two NEW scatters make six scatters total now available to find when capturing any Celtic Zodiac!

The Celtic Knots will be visible to ALL players, not just the player who capped the Celtic Zodiac, and will be deployed on the Celtic Zodiac owner’s account. This means that unlike Feathers, there are CapOn points for the owner! These Celtic Knot scatters will NOT count for deploy streaks, ZeeOps, or clan activity since they are passive deploys.

The rewards for Celtic Knots are as follows:

May 2023 Skin: Fish Hedge

As the month comes to a close, we wanted to make sure you were heading into May with your desired Hedges! The skin for completing your April capture streak (and the corresponding badge), which is the Swan Garden Hedge shown below, will be awarded in early May. But, we couldn’t wait to share what’s in store for next month!

April Hedge Reminders

If you haven’t picked up a Hedge yet, they are available in the Freeze Tag Store for $9.

How to have a permanent Hedge on your account next year:

  • Own at least 8 Hedges by the end of the year
    • Each month, the price of a Hedge will decrease by $1.
    • However, players can only purchase 1 Hedge every 28 days.

Also, don’t forget that Reseller Garden Hedges have arrived!  These unique munzee types are only available for purchase from participating Munzee Resellers, so shop now!

May Hedge Details

What Hedge Skin can you look forward to earning in May? The Fish Garden Hedge! Like the other hedges, the Fish Garden Hedge is a temporary POB that will remain on the map as long as players with permanent Garden Hedges continue to use it.

As stated earlier, to earn this skin, you’ll need to complete next month’s (May’s) capture streak. Once the skin is awarded in June, you can change the skin on the hedge to this one at any point — refer to our Help Guide article for the instructions!

You can find this fishy fern at the following landing pads every 6 hours or when captured:

Additionally, the Fish Garden Hedge will scatter up to 1-3 NEW Water Lily Flowers nearby when it is captured!

As a reminder, Garden Hedges have 4 associated badge lines:

  • Unique type deploy badges — you’ll need to earn each month’s skin by keeping your streak up!
  • Overall deploy badges — the more hedges you deploy, the merrier!
  • Unique type capture badges — capture at least 1 of each skinned hedge!
  • Overall capture badges — capture as many hedges as you can find!

While we revealed images for the first of each badge line in the original post, we are happy to show you the “Unique type deploy” and “Unique type capture” badges associated with the Fish Garden Hedge:
