Dark Side Mailbox Schedules

If you want to make the most of your time in the Empire, you need to know when the Double Point Weekends and Special Themed Scatter Events are! With four different bonus point weekends. and four new scatters, we’re sure this mailbox is right for you! So, without further ado, here are the schedules for the Dark Side Mailbox. While we’ll reveal the dates to help you plan and tease the first set of scatters, we’ll keep what will be scattering for following three events a surprise until then:

April 2023 GOTM Winners

April GOTM

This month saw a lot of awesome submissions, but ultimately, we narrowed it down to these two lovely gardens! Remember that all winning GOTM organizers and all players who deployed in the winning gardens will be awarded special badges for their contribution to growing the map. This month we’re happy to award the Tlinget Salmon Garden, designed by Promethium, and the Brandon Peacock Garden, designed by hunniees and dt07751, as our winning April GOTM! The gardens appear as follows:

How the Dark Side Mailbox Works

Starting Thursday, May 4 at 00:01 MHQ, each day you cap your Dark Side Mailbox you will be awarded a different Scrap Wars themed Greeting Card capture, similar to the other mailboxes. Please note that you’ll only be able to earn that specific card on that day, so you really don’t want to miss a day. Once you cap that card you’ll earn points, and you may also get some extra prizes! To learn more about Mailboxes visit the Munzee Help Guide HERE!

The Dark Side Mailbox is available for $25 and includes the following:

  • 1 Dark Side Mailbox Munzee to deploy and move around anywhere at anytime!
  • 1 Daily Capture of the mailbox each MHQ day starting on April 20th or when first deployed, which should help with keeping up your streaks!
  • 28 Mailbox Prize Days starting on May 4th and ending on May 31st, which will deliver the goodies below when captured, including Cards, Zeds, Munzees to deploy and more!
  • 28 Themed Greeting Cards (+1 Bonus Card) to both CAPTURE and DEPLOY!
  • 1 D4RTH Vardeman Mech deployed when capturing the mailbox on May 4th
  • Exclusive access to Double Point Events
  • Exclusive access to Scatter Events and Special Badges
  • This mailbox will archive on June 1, 2023

If you’re interested, you can purchase it in the FT Store! You will still be able to purchase the mailbox after it begins, but you won’t be able to earn rewards from the days that have passed. D4RTH Vardeman Mech

Like the other Munzee Mechz, the D4RTH Vardeman is a temporary POB. The D4RTH Vardeman will remain on the map until it has been captured 10 times, as you can see below. You will receive a fully-built D4RTH Vardeman that will auto-deploy on your account when the mailbox is captured on May 4th. You will also receive the Blueprint to rebuild it when you have earned enough Cogs in the future. It will cost 18 Cogs to rebuild this mech.

Landing Pads

You can find these evil emperors scowling at the landing pads above every 6 hours or when captured.

D4RTH Vardeman will be available for multi-capture. That means players can capture a D4RTH Vardeman on their own munzees, any previously captured munzees, and more than once if the same D4RTH Vardeman visits you. D4RTH Vardeman is non-blastable. It will be attracted to both Physical Magnets and Virtual Magnets. You can access it by turning on your “All Expiring Specials” filter.

When a D4RTH Vardeman is captured, it will scatter up to 2 Metalcarpals and up to 1 Laser Saber.

These scatters will be visible to any player and will be deployed on the Mech owner’s account. This means that unlike Air Mystery Feathers/Boulders, there are CapOn points for the owner! They expire after 120 minutes and have a capture radius of 300 feet. These scatters will NOT count for deploy streaks, ZeeOps, or clan activity since they are passive deploys.

There are a variety of badge lines associated with this Mailbox, so look forward to earning even more as the month progresses!

  • Dark Side deploy badge — deploying a Dark Side Mailbox will earn you a special badge that you can see below.
  • Dark Side Mailbox Card capture badges — capture at least 1 of each unique Dark Side Mailbox card! We’ll keep what these look like a secret for now.
  • D4RTH Vardeman badges — deploying a D4RTH Vardeman mech will earn you the corresponding Blueprint badge that you can also see below. There is also a unique badge for capturing that the force has kept hidden for the time being…

Cube Your Cubimals!

Remember when those cute Cubimals were stuck in QRates and we needed your help to get them out? How many have you saved? If you were diligently freeing them from their prisons all along, it’s time to collect your dues as the QRate-cracking, Cubimal-saving hero that you truly are! To celebrate the anniversary of their launch almost 2 years ago today, we’re bouncing with excitement to announce a long awaited and requested feature to give Cubimals new life!

Starting April 1 at 12:00 MHQ, you will be able to combine Mini Cubimals into temporary Cubimal Bouncers! How do you make a larger, more powerful cube? Combine them together of course! Since it takes 8 cubes to make a larger 2x2x2 cube, you’ll need 8 Mini Cubimals of the same type to turn it into a temporary Cubimal Bouncer. Each time the bouncer is captured a mini cube is consumed and will expire after 8 captures total. We’re curious to hear your feedback on the soft launch of these Cubimal Bouncers!

Pillow Fight, You Fools! Happening Now!

Did you know that April 1st is International Pillow Fight Day?! No, we’re not joking and you know what we miss most from childhood? PILLOW FIGHTS! So MHQ decided to relive our childhood and celebrate this holiday by trying to fill the map with feather filled FlashMOBs.

Who can forget…going to a sleepover, innocently minding your own business and then WHAM! Getting the absolute snot smacked out of you by a pillow wielded by your friend. Those really were the days. Pillows will be available from Saturday, April 1st at 00:01 MHQ through Sunday, April 2nd at 23:59 MHQ.

So relive the good ol’ days with us by capturing your own pillows to arm yourself with! Read on for everything you need to know!

If you’ve captured all the munzees near you, you’ll be happy to discover that your map has been stuffed with pillows! These work just like last year’s foolish flamingo flocking flashMOB and (nearly) ALL Greenies and Virtual Colors will have the “mask munzees” shown below applied to them.

April 2023 Skin: Swan Hedge

As the month comes to a close, we wanted to make sure you were heading into April with your desired Hedges! The skin for completing your March capture streak (and the corresponding badge), which is the Frog Garden Hedge shown below, will be awarded in early April. But, we couldn’t wait to share what’s in store for next month!

March Hedge Reminders

If you haven’t picked up a Hedge yet, they are available in the Freeze Tag Store for $10.

How to have a permanent Hedge on your account next year:

  • Own at least 8 Hedges by the end of the year
    • Each month, the price of a Hedge will decrease by $1.
    • However, players can only purchase 1 Hedge every 28 days.

Also, don’t forget that Reseller Garden Hedges have arrived!  These unique munzee types are only available for purchase from participating Munzee Resellers, so shop now!

What Hedge Skin can you look forward to earning in April? The Swan Garden Hedge! Like the other hedges, the Swan Garden Hedge is a temporary POB that will remain on the map as long as players with permanent Garden Hedges continue to use it.

As stated earlier, to earn this skin, you’ll need to complete next month’s (April’s) capture streak. Once the skin is awarded in May, you can change the skin on the hedge to this one at any point — refer to our Help Guide article for the instructions!

Additionally, the Swan Garden Hedge will scatter up to 3 NEW Swan Flowers nearby when it is captured!

  • Overall capture badges — capture as many hedges as you can find!

Secret ZeeOps- Operation: House Hunter! (March 2023)

All caught up with Secret ZeeOps and looking for more? There’s a new one available in the app ZeeOps Hub for the usual cost of 1,500 Zeds. For now, it will be available for purchase until 23:59 MHQ on April 30. If you’ve purchased a Secret ZeeOp, you will be able to complete it and collect rewards even after it is no longer available for purchase.

Some might say this mystery is a bit…twisted, more specifically a twister has ravaged a small Kansas farm! Reports say newly formed emerald crystallizations lead to a world filled with wonder! You must venture into an emerald city, traverse a golden bricked road, and investigate the trail of devastation left in the wake of a mysterious vigilante named Dorothy! Complete a variety of missions to unlock levels to complete the Operation. If you complete ALL the missions in Operation: House Hunter!, you’ll receive the snazzy badge below, along with the TWiST3D SiST3R Mech (more info below!) and various other rewards listed in the app!

There are 3 levels. Level 1 has 3 missions, Level 2 has 5 missions, and Level 3 has 5 missions. Each level ends with more prizes.

NEW Mech Details

Like the other Munzee Mechz, TWiST3D SiST3R is a temporary POB that will remain on the map until it has been captured 15 times.

You can find this deplorable dwelling falling on landing pads above every 6 hours or when captured.

TWiST3D SiST3R will be available for multi-capture. That means players can capture TWiST3D SiST3R on their own munzees, any previously captured munzees, and more than once if the same TWiST3D SiST3R visits you. TWiST3D SiST3R is non-blastable. She will be attracted to both Physical Magnets and Virtual Magnets. You can access TWiST3D SiST3R by turning on your “All Expiring Specials” filter.

When TWiST3D SiST3R is captured, it will scatter up to 3 Psyclones on the Mech owner’s account.

These scatters will be visible to any player and expire after 120 minutes. They have a capture radius of 300 feet. These scatters will NOT count for deploy streaks, ZeeOps, or clan activity since they are passive deploys.

As with other Munzee Mechz, the badge for deploying TWiST3D SiST3R depicts the Blueprints, and is shown below:

There is also a badge for capturing TWiST3D SiST3R. Since there’s only one badge in this line, we’ll keep it a secret for now.
