National Tooth Fairy Day Means New Specials!

Do you remember the joy of a loose baby tooth? The wiggle, the wonder, the crisp dollar bill you’d discover under your pillow in the morning. While you might not be celebrating loose teeth these days, we do have a way to get you excited about detached dentures. You’d expect for these specials to be released at tooth-hurty, but the Tooth Fairy Specials will actually be hitting the map at 15:00 MHQ time today for some tooth caps you’ll actually enjoy!

Tooth Fairy Specials

As you’ll soon see from our badge and tags, today is Tooth Fairy Day 2019! That’s right, August 22 marks National Tooth Fairy Day in the United States, a holiday that allows you to connect to your inner kid and recall the fun of this fabled fantasy figure. So what better way to celebrate the whimsy than with specials that will have you grinning from ear to ear?!

The Tooth Fairy Specials will be 3 physical Munzee Owned Bouncers (MOBs) that will bounce to specific munzees. We will be putting a total of 1,600 of these specials on the map, but some teeth are more rare than others! White Tooth specials are the most common, Gold Tooth specials are less common, and Diamond Tooth specials are super rare. All specials will bounce around every 8 hours or when captured and will remain on the map until September 7 at 23:59 MHQ time.

Where do teeth like to shop? At the Gap! But what landing pads are they attracted to? That depends on the special! The White Tooth will be attracted to Greenies, the Gold Tooth will be attracted to Premium Munzees, and the Diamond Tooth will be attracted to physical Jewel Munzees (Diamond, Ruby, Aquamarine, Topaz, and Pink Diamond). The point distribution for capping a Tooth Fairy special will vary based on which special is capped.

Points

  • White Tooth: 1 PinPoint and 50 points to both Capture and Host
  • Gold Tooth: 5 PinPoints and 100 points to both Capture and Host
  • Diamond Tooth: 10 PinPoints and 250 points to both Capture and Host

Alright guys, you know the drill! You can access our latest specials by turning on your “All Expiring Specials” and “All Limited Edition Specials” filters. Additionally, you can Magnetize Greenies to get White Tooth specials, but Gold and Diamond Tooth specials won’t be attracted to Magnets, so keep your eyes peeled for them!

UPDATE: If you are the owner of the munzee and you capture it, unfortunately, you will only get the capture rewards, not both. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Badges

While we can’t offer you a plaque, we do have badges you can earn instead! There will be a total of 4 new badges to earn for capturing the Tooth Fairy Specials. While we aren’t going to reveal all of the badges just yet, we will give you a sneak peek of what you can earn. The first badge in the series will appear as follows:

Time to Serve Up Pakistan Global Grub!

We recently announced that the Global Grub overall capture badges are here to allow you to earn more badges than ever for your Global Grub captures! And today we have a real treat for those who enjoy eating meat, because the Pakistan Global Grub will be joining the map at 15:00 MHQ time!

Eight Pakistan Global Grub specials will be deployed today, joining Global Grub physical specials including Italy, Korea, Greece, and more! They will bounce to Greenies every 12 hours or when captured.

Points

  • Cap: 200
  • CapOn (Host): 100

Players will earn a badge containing a dish of food unique to the flag pin country each time they capture a Global Grub special. Capturing the Pakistan Global Grub will earn you the following savory badge:

Ready for a protein packed feast? If you haven’t tried chicken tandoori yet, then you’re really missing out! This dish involves finely marinated chicken that is covered in yogurt and spices and roasted to tender perfection in a tandoor over. You can often recognize this dish by the vibrant hue of the meat, which is due to the chili power and turmeric used in the marinating process. This savory dish will fall apart in your mouth for a delicious dining experience!

The Global Grub specials will bounce around the globe for the remainder of the year before leaving the map on 12/31/2019 at 23:59 MHQ time. You will have until then to try your luck capturing these very rare specials. Don’t forget that our overall Global Grub capture line allows you more opportunities than ever to earn Global Grub badges!

Qixi Festival Means Munzee Store Celebration!

August 7 marks the annual Qixi Festival, also known as the Qiqiao Festival, which is a traditional Chinese festival that celebrates the mythological romance of the cowherd and weaver maid. Due to its romantic nature, Qixi Festival is known colloquially as “Chinese Valentine’s Day.” Here at Munzee, we will be celebrating this year’s Qixi Festival by putting several attractive offers on the table for players!

Latest Evolution Prepares to Leap onto the Map!

While some might believe that a frog’s favorite game is croak-et, their game of choice is in fact Munzee! So we decided, what better way to celebrate our amphibian friends than with their own Evolution Munzees? Starting August 1 at 00:01 MHQ time, our brand new Frog Evolutions will be made available through the August MunzPak Subscriptions!

The latest Evolution Munzee will only be available in Physical MunzPak Subscriptions, sold in the Freeze Tag Online Store. However, keep in mind that if any MunzPak orders are placed before August 1 at 00:01 MHQ time, players will be receiving the July MunzPak. The Frog Evolution is a combination of Physicals and Virtuals, with Stages 1-4 bouncing to Physical Munzees and Stage 5 bouncing to Virtual and Physical Munzees.

The 5 stages of the Frog Evolution are as follows:

  • Stage 1: Frog Egg
  • Stage 2: Tadpole
  • Stage 3: Pollywog
  • Stage 4: Froglet
  • Stage 5: Frog (3 Variants)

The stage timeline of the Frog Evolutions will match that of the Butterfly Evolution. The stages will be as follows:

  • Stage 1 to Stage 2: after 4 days
  • Stage 2 to Stage 3: after 14 days
  • Stage 3 to Stage 4: after 10 days
  • Stage 4 to Stage 5: permanent until Reset to stage one

Once the Frog Evolution reaches Stage 4, a temporary POB will be launched. The Pollywog will become the Froglet and remain in place, while the Frog variant will be launched at the same time for the duration of its “lifespan.” Once the Frog Evolution reaches Stage 5, it will stay in place for 8 hours or when captured, and will not be able to be nudged. Once 10 captures or 42 days have elapsed for Stage 5, the Frog will be archived.

The first four stages of the Frog Evolutions will be the same for all players. However, Stage 5 will have the option of emerging as one of three different frog species (the green Tree Frog, blue Poison Dart Frog, or red Tomato Frog) which can bounce to both Physicals and Virtuals. Like the Flower Evolutions, the chance of the Frog Evolution evolving to one of the 3 types changes every time it is reset with the Evolution Reset Credit.

Purchasing the reset credit will set your Evolution back to Stage 1, for a chance for the Frog to evolve to a different species at Stage 5. Although you cannot capture a reset if you have already captured the original, you CAN capture the final level of a reset if it evolves to a different color than your first capture. An easy way to know is, if you see it on the map you can capture it!

Please note that although the first four stages for each are the same, they will count as different special capture icons. Like all Player Owned Bouncers (POBs), the Frog Evolution will be available for multi-capture only as the Level 5 Frog.

The points for the Frog Evolution will be as same as the Butterfly Evolution, with 100 points awarded per Stage 1 deploy.

Points

  • Stage 1: Cap: 50, CapOn: 30
  • Stage 2: Cap: 40, CapOn: 20
  • Stage 3: Cap: 45, CapOn: 25
  • Stage 4: Cap: 40, CapOn: 30
  • Stage 4: Cap: 150, CapOn: 50, Host CapOn: 50

Just like real life frogs, the Frog Evolution Munzee sometimes hops to dangerous areas including predator filled waters, and high-speed roadways! Bouncing Frog Evos will be attracted to the following landing pads:

  • Stages 1-3 of Shark
  • Stages 1-3 Submarine Evos
  • Stage 1-3 of Safari Bus Evos
  • Stage 3 only for Muscle Car
  • Earth Mystery
  • Water Mystery
  • Trail Stage One
  • Greenies
  • *Green Colored Virtuals

The Frog Evolution will adhere to normal proximity rules. Stage 1 deploys must be at least 50 feet from any other physical type and 150 feet from your own physical munzees. It will have a normal physical capture radius of 300 feet for Stages 1-4, and a capture radius of 500 feet for Stage 5.

Stage 5 of the Frog Evos will be attracted to Munzee Magnets on Greenies and Virtual Magnets on Green Virtuals. They are NOT blastable. To access the Frog Evolution Munzees, turn on your “Evolution” and “All Expiring Specials” filters. The Frog Evolutions will count toward Evolution Capture and Deploy badges.

The full contents of the August MuzPak Subscriptions will be revealed tomorrow. We hope this latest Evolution has you jumping for joy in the meantime! ?

July POTM and August POTM Requirements!

July has been a QRazy month, but when we say QRazy, we mean QRazy awesome! We challenged players to help us reach 8,888,888 deploys before the conclusion of the month, and the Munzee community joined forces to complete the QRazy 8’s Deploy Challenge by July 19! That means in addition to the July POTM badge, qualifying players can enjoy their QRazy 8 Deploy Challenge prizes!

Since July was Munzee’s birthday month, we wanted to celebrate a wide variety of players who help contribute to growing the game! All “Determined Deployers” who have deployed at least 16 munzees throughout July (not including socials and personals) will be awarded the special July POTM badge on August 1:

The July POTM badge is a special badge unique from previous POTM badges. This is a brand new badge that any player, regardless of previous POTM wins, is able to earn. Remember, there is still a day and a half left to finish your deploys before July ends in order to earn the badge!

QRazy 8 Deploy Challenge

In addition to the special July POTM badge, all July POTM winners also qualify for the QRazy 8 Deploy Challenge prizes! All players who deployed at least 8 munzees in the month of July will be awarded 1 Virtual, 1 Virtual Color Credit, 1 Urban Fit credit, 1 Physical Capture 2x Booster, and the limited edition QRazy 8’s badge on August 1! August POTM Requirements

Lastly, our August POTM criteria will call for player nominations! As the QRazy 8’s challenge demonstrated, Munzee thrives due to its awesome, interactive community. We’re lucky to have a dedicated players base who helps maintain the map, as demonstrated by ZeeQRew and QRew statuses. July GOTM is Twice as Nice with Double the Winning Gardens!

July has been an outstanding month, as an influx in specials hit the map and players celebrated Munzee’s 8th birthday all over the world in #8zees attire. That’s why we decided, why limit our July Garden of the Month (GOTM) winners to our typical two winning gardens, when we’ve been having the double the fun?! Below you can find all four of our winning gardens!

In honor of Munzee’s birthday month, we selected some of our favorite celebratory Munzee gardens for July GOTM. All winning GOTM organizers and all players who deployed in the winning gardens will be awarded special badges for their contribution to growing the map! Our winning July Gardens are as follows: 7th Birthday Garden, organized by Jesnou, Sivontim, Mandello, and Neesu; Happy Birthday Karte, organized by Engel19 and teamkiwii; Munzee Logo, organized by Bonn; and I HEART MUNZEE, organized by NativenUK! Husband and wife team Engel19 and teamkiwii have organized a number of garden projects over the years to grow the game in the Stuttgart area of Germany, including this garden for last year’s birthday celebration. Together they have spent many hours planning and nurturing their wonderful gardens to spread Munzee joy!

Garden creator Bonn earned a second win with this Munzee Logo Garden, featuring the signature Munzee Logo and colors! Previously Bonn captured the Munzee spirit with one of the two winning March Gardens of the Month for his QR Code Map!

I HEART MUNZEE by NativenUK in Buffalo, New York

Inspired by the “I love NY” logo, this garden will turn red when completed and capped. Located in an untapped suburb of Buffalo, NY close to Niagara Falls, this celebratory garden was recently completed just before Munzee’s birthday month ended! We love this clever design that celebrates everyone’s favorite real world scavenger hunt!

Do you know a garden that is worthy of the August GOTM title? We’re asking for players to submit already created gardens for the chance to win any of our upcoming Garden(s) of the Month! Just be sure to follow the rules!

GOTM Rules for GOTM nominations:

  1. Garden must feature non-licensed character designs.
  2. The garden must feature a Garden Places Pin.
  3. The garden must be built using a publicly available spreadsheet which we will ask to be locked after being 100% deployed.
  4. We’re asking for ongoing nominations and we will release the winners throughout the year.

Global Grub Overall Capture Badges Are HERE!

Can you believe 2019 is over halfway through, and we’ve already released over half of our Global Grub specials?! Over the past 7 months the Global Grub specials for Switzerland, Australia, China, France, Greece, Japan, Thailand, Mexico, Korea, Sweden, Italy, and the USA have joined the map. While there are still plenty of new specials to look forward to, we’re happy to announce the release of our overall capture line today at 15:00 MHQ time!

These brand new badges can be earned for capturing Global Grub Munzees of ANY type. This retroactive line of badges will also include any new Global Grub Munzees released throughout the the rest of the year.

Want a preview of this overall capture line? Many of you have likely already earned the following badge for capturing one Global Grub special of any type:

There will be six badges in total, so keep capturing as many as you can! Remember that all Global Grub specials will leave the map on 12/31/2019 at 23:59 MHQ time. Introducing the Classical AlternaMyth Wrangler Badge!

It’s been a while since the release of the Myth Wrangler, Classical Myth Wrangler, and AlternaMyth Wrangler badges, so it seems long past due that we introduce your next challenge!

We’re excited to announce that you’ll soon be able to earn the Classical AlternaMyth Wrangler badge for capturing all four Classical AlternaMyths in a single day!

The Fire Pegasus, Cherub Faun, Ogre, and Chimera are all hard enough to find on their own, but will you be lucky enough to cap them all in one day? Since these Alternative Versions of the four Classical Mythological Munzees are exclusively deployed by Freeze Tag team members, this badge is only for the most committed of Myth hunters.

You’ll want to do everything you can to increase your odds, so remember to utilize Munzee Magnets and Elemental Munzees. 

Please note that regular first generation Myths or AlternaMyths, Classical Myths, or Gen 3 Myths will not count toward this badge. The Classical AlternaMyth Wrangler badge IS NOT retroactive though. The badge will begin awarding at 00:01 MHQ time on Wednesday July 17, 2019.

This one won’t be easy to get, but we believe in you! Happy hunting and Munzee on!
