Exchange ZeeCred for Game Pieces!

With the release of the Daily ZeeOps update in October, which eliminated the need for ZeeCred to participate in those missions, we promised to follow up with more information about ZeeCred usage in the future. We’re happy to announce that the day has come! From 12:00 MHQ today to 23:59 MHQ on December 31st, you can exchange your ZeeCred for select munzee types! Please note that this is an online-only feature. If you have no ZeeCred, no need to read any further. 😉

 

How to Exchange ZeeCred

  1. Make sure you’re logged in on the Munzee website: https://www.munzee.com/
  2. Head to this link: https://www.munzee.com/ops/
  3. In the top-right corner, you should see the total number of ZeeCred you didn’t use before the program ended.
  4. Below, you can choose the game piece you would like to redeem your ZeeCred towards
    1. Night Vision Goggles are worth 20 ZeeCred
    2. Briefcase Credits are worth 15 ZeeCred
  5. Click to confirm your redemption on any popups that appear
  6. That’s it!

We do not anticipate using ZeeCred as a currency in the future, so you will need to redeem as much as you choose to! If you’re wondering about any future Secret ZeeOps Missions (as we mentioned in this blog post) they will not require ZeeCred. These are the only two options for ZeeCred redemption and all ZeeCred will expire at the end of 2020.

Holiday Card Collectors Club Tier 3 Day 9: Christmas Pickle Hunt

Tier 3 Holiday Card Collectors Club members have their own exclusive hunt! Much like Saturday’s Snowball Gathering, upon capturing your Holiday Mailbox, a whole forest of ChristmaZ Trees will scatter nearby! To reiterate, the mailbox must be capped on December 9th 00:01-23:59 MHQ time to deploy the ChristmaZ Trees. They’ll stay on the map for 36 hours after scattering, so that should give you ample time to collect them all! Also the capture radius is increased to 750 feet for these!

A total of 20 ChristmaZ Tree specials will be unleashed! These will only be visible to the Holiday Mailbox owner and will scatter like Feathers. This means there are no CapOn points but they are worth 100 points for capture!

Though there will only be one icon shown on the map, there is guaranteed to be 1 special ChristmaZ Pickle with a different icon that will not be visible until captured, similar to how the Greeting Cards work. Also similar to the ongoing WallaEggZ! The ChristmaZ Pickle is worth 250 points for capture.

To access these specials, please turn on your “All Expiring Specials” and “All Limited Edition Specials” filters.

Badge

There will be 1 badge for finding the ChristmaZ Pickle. Since there’s only the 1 badge in this line, we want to keep it a secret for now. Hopefully it shouldn’t be too tough for you to get!

Holiday Card Collectors Club ALL Tiers Day 5: Snowball Gathering

ALL Holiday Card Collectors Club members are in for a special treat today! Upon capturing your Holiday Mailbox, a whole arsenal of Snowballs will scatter nearby! To reiterate, The mailbox must be capped on December 5th 00:01-23:59 MHQ time to deploy the Snowballs. They’ll stay on the map until 36 hours after scattering, so that should give you ample time to collect them all!

A total of 50 Snowball specials will be unleashed! These will only be visible to the Holiday Mailbox owner and will scatter like Feathers. This means there are no CapOn points but they are worth 100 points for capture!

Though there will only be one icon shown on the map, there is guaranteed to be 1 special Rainbow Snow Cone with a different icon that will not be visible until captured, similar to how the Greeting Cards work. Also similar to the ongoing WallaEggZ! The Rainbow Snow Cone is worth 250 points for capture.

To access these specials, please turn on your “All Expiring Specials” and “All Limited Edition Specials” filters.

Badges

There is also a line featuring 3 new badges to earn. The first badge in the series appears as follows:

Hold These 20/20 Vision Munzees Up to a Bright Light Before Wearing!

If you ever had glow-in-the-dark stars, moons, and planets stuck to the walls and ceiling of your bedroom, we think these next 20/20 Vision Munzees are right up your alley! These phosphorescent frames were deployed this afternoon at 15:00 MHQ. Would you wear these at night?

Only twelve Glow In The Dark Glasses will be deployed, and they will bounce to Greenies every 12 hours or when captured. These will be attracted to Physical Magnets though so be sure to stock up! 

Points:

  • Cap: 200 points
  • CapOn (Host): 100 points

Capturing the Glow In The Dark Glasses will add this oozing with cool Night Vision badge to your collection! Also, as of July we’ve released the details on the overall capture line — the post is HERE if you missed it!

This munzee is based on the iconic shutter shades, which typically come in solid plastic colors. Shutter shades feel like a recent invention —  as Blickers.com notes, you probably associate them with Kanye West as he wore them in his “Stronger” music video in 2007, kicking off a new trend. But, like many trends of today, early forms of shutter shades go all the way back to the 1950s! They went by the slightly more elegant name of “Venetian blinders.”

We’ve put our own spin on shutter shades by using phosphorescent plastic! Ever wonder how this type of plastic achieves its otherworldly glow? Colourchange.com has a neat and simple explanation:

Phosphors radiate visible light after being energized and require exposure to light for a while before they will glow in the dark.

Phosphors then slowly release their stored energy over time. As they release the energy, they emit small amounts of light, which we see as an object glowing.

This is different from fluorescence, which will immediately stop glowing once the energy source is gone.

You’ll be able to capture the 20/20 Vision specials on other players’ munzees as well as your own for the remainder of the year! As a reminder, all 20/20 Vision specials will leave the map on 12/31/2020 at 23:59 MHQ. More unique 20/20 Vision specials will launch throughout the year so keep on the lookout — you won’t want to miss out on these bouncing bifocals!

December 2020 MunzPak Contents Revealed!

December signals a change in the season, so this month’s MunzPaks contain a nice assortment of Elemental Mysteries, Evolutions, and a number of other types! In addition, the Hybrid MunzPak includes generic stickers! Check out the breakdown of each Pak below for more details!

Holiday Card Collectors Club Tier 3 Day 1: Cyborg Santa

Can you believe it’s already been two weeks since we first revealed the Cyborg Santa as part of Tier 3 of our Holiday Card Collectors Club? We bet you’re curious to find out all his features and functions, so without further ado…

Cyborg Santa Details

As previously stated, the Cyborg Santa is a temporary POB. It will deploy on your account when you capture your holiday mailbox on December 1. The mailbox must be capped on December 1st 00:01-23:59 MHQ time to deploy Santa. It will bounce to both physical and virtual munzees, specifically: Greenies, Earth Mysteries, Ice Mysteries, all Virtual Colors, all three stages of the Farm Set – Family Evolution, Treehouses, and Skylands every 5 hours or when capped. It will stay on the map until 23:59 MHQ on December 31, when it will be automatically archived on your account. If you’ve ever deployed a Butterfly or Frog Evolution munzee, these will behave similarly with a few exceptions.

Points

  • Deploy: 750
  • Capture: 300
  • CapOn: 150

Similar to the Modern Myths, when the Cyborg Santa is captured 1 NEW Pixel Present munzee will be scattered nearby!

The Pixel Present will only be visible to the player who capped the Cyborg Santa, and will be deployed on the Cyborg Santa owner’s account. This means that unlike Feathers, there are CapOn points for the owner!

The rewards for Pixel Presents are as follows:

  • Capture: 50-150 points and 1-5 Zeds
  • CapOn: 75-175 points and 3-7 Zeds

Like the Cybersaurus Rex, the Cyborg Santa will be available for multi-capture. That means players can capture a Cyborg Santa on their own munzees, any previously captured munzees, and more than once if the same Cyborg Santa visits you. However, Cyborg Santas are non-blastable. They will be attracted to Munzee Magnets and Virtual Munzee Magnets. You can access Cyborg Santa by turning on your “All Limited Edition Specials” and “All Expiring Specials” filters.

There is also a line of 6 Christmas Combat Capture badges that you can earn for Cyborg Santa, Cybersaurus Rex, and any other future HCCC tPOB (*hint hint*) captures! The first in this line will appear as follows:

Complete the Funfinity Stone Set with Tsitriin!

Orange is considered an unusual color by some (nothing rhymes with it!), but we think it combines the fierceness of red and the joyfulness of yellow perfectly! It’s also found a lot in nature, so the beauty of this color is not lost on us! Like the past stones, this sunset-colored gem was borrowed from our sister app WallaBee! Joining the other Funfinity Stones, please welcome the Tsitriin!

These Player Owned Bouncers (POB) resemble the Jewel Munzees, which they also bounce to! The Tsitriin is available NOW in the Freeze Tag Online Store. Be sure to shop fast, because these Funfinity Stones will leave the store at 12:00 MHQ on December 2! Like the other Funfinity Stones, players can purchase a Tsitriin for $10. No upgrade ability is available. In celebration of Cyber Munzday ALL PREVIOUS FUNFINITY STONES will also be available during this time!

Tsitriin Details

Tsitriin joins the current line of Pouch Creatures as a virtual munzee that will bounce to all Virtual Colors, Air Mystery, Citrine, and Skyland Munzees every 6 hours or when capped.

It will have the same point values as the other Funfinity Stones:

  • Deploy: 250
  • Capture: 200 Points
  • CapOn: 250 Points
  • CapOn (Host Owner): 200 points

Tsitriin will be available for multi-capture. That means players can capture Tsitriin on their own munzees, any previously captured munzees, and more than once if the same Tsitriin visits you. It will be attracted to Virtual Magnets on all 4 of its landing pads. You can access Tsitriin under the “All Expiring Specials” and “All Pouch Creatures” filters.

If you’ve deployed ALL the Funfinity Stones, you’ll receive a very special Funfinity Bootlet badge as well!

Additionally, any Tsitriin captures will help you progress in both the Unique Funfinity Stone Capture badge line and the Pouch Creature Capture badge line. As a reminder, you can see the first of each of these badge lines below:

That means players can capture Vikerkaar on their own munzees, any previously captured munzees, and more than once if the same Vikerkaar visits you. It will be not be attracted to magnets. You can access Vikerkaar under the “All Expiring Specials” and “All Pouch Creatures” filters.

With the addition of Vikerkaar, there is also a new badge for capturing at least one of each Funfinity Stone!

A Challenger to Cyborg Santa Has Appeared + Cyber Munzday Info!

As we mentioned in our posts yesterday on social media, we’re still enjoying a break from our usual duties today (hopefully you are too) — so this is some pre-scheduled programming! If you’re jealous of Holiday Card Collectors Club members because of the super-cool Cyborg Santa, but aren’t ready for the commitment, or if you just enjoy collecting robot toys, we’ve got an option for you! We’ve also got some info on the promotions we’re planning for Cyber Munzday, so make sure to read all the way to the end!

Cybersaurus Rex

Our solution to deliver Christmas presents in a contactless manner all around the world was a good one — build an army of Cyborg Santas! But an enterprising elf — who may or may not have marathoned the entire Jurassic Park film franchise — applied the same technology to some T-rex prototypes, not knowing that part of their AI had already been programmed to mimic real T-rex behaviors! If you’d like to take a Cybersaurus Rex off our hands, it is available at the Freeze Tag Online Store as an individual product!

This new temporary POB (tPOB) will be available for purchase for $5 ONLY on Monday Nov 30th — Cyber Munzday! These are limited to 1 per player.

Like the Cyborg Santa, the Cybersaurus Rex is a temporary POB. It will bounce to both physical and virtual munzees. You can access Cybersaurus Rexes under the “All Limited Edition Specials” and “All Expiring Specials” filters.

November 2020 GOTM Winners + December POTM Requirements!

This month has been a bit all over the place, but as it’s sandwiched between Halloween and Christmas, perhaps November was doomed from the start to be a strange transitional period.

For those looking forward to Christmas, we started off strong with the MunzPaks, which include the very popular Christmas Critters! We also featured a past Christmas Event in an amazingly detailed Event Spotlight by denali0407! Lastly, we released the Holiday Card Collectors Club, which seems to be well-received so far! We have some more things related to Christmas in the works, so be on the lookout!

For those who wish it was still Halloween, we released the popular Kill Them With Kindness Greeting Card and had a double points day to go along with it!

As for non-holiday related updates, we announced the results of our Zeecret Agent Competition, released 3 more nomads, and a much-requested new Places munzee, the Drink Depot!

We are now happy to announce the winners of the November Garden of the Month (GOTM), give a reminder for November Player of the Month (POTM), and announce the criteria for December POTM! The badges for November GOTM and POTM will be awarded in early December, but we couldn’t wait to share the winners we’ve chosen!

November GOTM

As mentioned above, we’re caught between Halloween and Christmas, so the first garden we chose reflects this split. The second garden was chosen as it looks like the perfect Christmas gift for a young child! Remember that all winning GOTM organizers and all players who deployed in the winning gardens will be awarded special badges for their contribution to growing the map. This month we’re happy to award the Claire’s Candy Canes Garden, designed by Jeffeth, and the Teddy Bear Garden, designed by CoalCracker7, as our winning November GOTM! A garden made for my wife, who always enjoys getting into the Christmas spirit early. 🙂

It was designed specifically as a November garden. The first candy cane represents veterans day/remembrance day held in November, the second has a lot of orange in reminder of Halloween which just passed, and the third shows the original candy cane and Christmas that is coming.

Also, such a unique use of a variety of different munzees showing there are so many ways to make the same thing.

What an adorable way to celebrate the birth of a new baby!

This garden was created for this year’s Teddy Bear’s Picnic event! The tummy was colored blue to celebrate the birth of former staff member Daniel Hammock’s son.

All players who deployed in the respective winning gardens will receive the following special badges:

Rules for GOTM nominations:

  1. Garden must feature non-licensed character designs.
  2. The garden must feature a Garden Places Pin.
  3. The garden must be built using a publicly available spreadsheet which we will ask to be locked after being 100% deployed.
  4. We’re asking for ongoing nominations and we will release the winners throughout the year.

This month’s POTM requirement was suggested by a player, and we thought it would be a great fit for the season of giving. We want to hear about Munzee acts of kindness! For December Player Of The Month we want you to send in stories about times your faith in humanity was restored (or perhaps you were the restorer of faith to someone else!) while playing Munzee. We know our player community is full of great people, so we’re expecting to receive a lot of submissions!
