Have a BLAST with this NEW Booster!

Our team is THRILLED to announce the ALL NEW Capture Radius Booster! Prepare to reach new heights (or distances) with this all new Booster credit. The Capture Radius Booster (CRB) works a little different than other Boosters, but the gist is that it will double the distance of the virtual munzees you can capture. This includes virtual scatters, bouncers on virtual landing pads, Places, ALL things virtual! We’re considering this a soft launch as there may be a few more small adjustments to be made as we get your feedback over the next few weeks.

This all new Booster can only be purchased for 60 Zeds in the In-App Store.

The CRB will work with Blast Captures and Rover Treats to double their distance as well! This means you have the ability to blast munzees up to 2 miles from your current location. Due to its unique nature the Capture Radius Booster will last for 5 minutes.

From our internal testing we think 5 minutes will be a nice number in order  to meet some different types of needs. While you’re a passenger in a car you now have the ability to reach upcoming virtuals from twice the distance, never missing those amethysts again. 🙂 Remember, about a month ago, we announced players could now set off Blasts without having to wait until the previous one finishes! That meant more Blasts in less time! No more ignoring your friends at events while you watch the screen, waiting to blast again!

Our goal is to make this new Booster easily accessible so players can use it at anytime, so please let us know of any feedback in case there is some more tinkering needed. The CRB is just right for that extension you need to cap a few more munzees that have previously been out of reach, or those lining many of the roads across the world. Cube Your Cubimals!

Remember when those cute Cubimals were stuck in QRates and we needed your help to get them out? How many have you saved? If you were diligently freeing them from their prisons all along, it’s time to collect your dues as the QRate-cracking, Cubimal-saving hero that you truly are! To celebrate the anniversary of their launch almost 2 years ago today, we’re bouncing with excitement to announce a long awaited and requested feature to give Cubimals new life!

Starting April 1 at 12:00 MHQ, you will be able to combine Mini Cubimals into temporary Cubimal Bouncers! How do you make a larger, more powerful cube? Combine them together of course! Since it takes 8 cubes to make a larger 2x2x2 cube, you’ll need 8 Mini Cubimals of the same type to turn it into a temporary Cubimal Bouncer. Each time the bouncer is captured a mini cube is consumed and will expire after 8 captures total. We’re curious to hear your feedback on the soft launch of these Cubimal Bouncers!

Pillow Fight, You Fools! Happening Now!

Did you know that April 1st is International Pillow Fight Day?! No, we’re not joking and you know what we miss most from childhood? PILLOW FIGHTS! So MHQ decided to relive our childhood and celebrate this holiday by trying to fill the map with feather filled FlashMOBs.

Who can forget…going to a sleepover, innocently minding your own business and then WHAM! Getting the absolute snot smacked out of you by a pillow wielded by your friend. Those really were the days. Pillows will be available from Saturday, April 1st at 00:01 MHQ through Sunday, April 2nd at 23:59 MHQ.

So relive the good ol’ days with us by capturing your own pillows to arm yourself with! Read on for everything you need to know!

If you’ve captured all the munzees near you, you’ll be happy to discover that your map has been stuffed with pillows! These work just like last year’s foolish flamingo flocking flashMOB and (nearly) ALL Greenies and Virtual Colors will have the “mask munzees” shown below applied to them.

What we mean by “mask munzee” is that they appear on top of a host munzee, similar to a bouncing munzee, but once capped they do NOT bounce anywhere else. You have “removed” the mask.

April 2023 Skin: Swan Hedge

As the month comes to a close, we wanted to make sure you were heading into April with your desired Hedges! The skin for completing your March capture streak (and the corresponding badge), which is the Frog Garden Hedge shown below, will be awarded in early April. But, we couldn’t wait to share what’s in store for next month!

March Hedge Reminders

If you haven’t picked up a Hedge yet, they are available in the Freeze Tag Store for $10.

How to have a permanent Hedge on your account next year:

  • Own at least 8 Hedges by the end of the year
    • Each month, the price of a Hedge will decrease by $1.
    • However, players can only purchase 1 Hedge every 28 days.

Also, don’t forget that Reseller Garden Hedges have arrived!  These unique munzee types are only available for purchase from participating Munzee Resellers, so shop now!

What Hedge Skin can you look forward to earning in April? The Swan Garden Hedge! Like the other hedges, the Swan Garden Hedge is a temporary POB that will remain on the map as long as players with permanent Garden Hedges continue to use it.

As stated earlier, to earn this skin, you’ll need to complete next month’s (April’s) capture streak. Once the skin is awarded in May, you can change the skin on the hedge to this one at any point — refer to our Help Guide article for the instructions!

You can find this swimming shrub at the following landing pads every 6 hours or when captured:

Additionally, the Swan Garden Hedge will scatter up to 3 NEW Swan Flowers nearby when it is captured!

Like the other Hedge Flowers, these scatters will be visible to any player and will be deployed on the Hedge owner’s account. This means that unlike Air Mystery Feathers/Boulders, there are CapOn points for the owner! They expire after 120 minutes and have a capture radius of 300 feet. These hedge scatters will NOT count for deploy streaks, ZeeOps, or clan activity since they are passive deploys.

As a reminder, Garden Hedges have 4 associated badge lines:

  • Unique type deploy badges — you’ll need to earn each month’s skin by keeping your streak up!
  • Overall deploy badges — the more hedges you deploy, the merrier!
  • Unique type capture badges — capture at least 1 of each skinned hedge!
  • Overall capture badges — capture as many hedges as you can find!

While we revealed images for the first of each badge line in the original post, we are happy to show you the “Unique type deploy” and “Unique type capture” badges associated with the Swan Garden Hedge:

March 2023 GOTM Winners

March GOTM

This month saw a lot of awesome submissions, but ultimately, we narrowed it down to these two lovely Gardens! Remember that all winning GOTM organizers and all players who deployed in the winning gardens will be awarded special badges for their contribution to growing the map. This month we’re happy to award the Pot o’ Zees Garden, designed by geomatrix, and The Garden Hedge, designed by FlanDro, as our winning March GOTM! The gardens appear as follows:

Secret ZeeOps- Operation: House Hunter! (March 2023)

All caught up with Secret ZeeOps and looking for more? There’s a new one available in the app ZeeOps Hub for the usual cost of 1,500 Zeds. For now, it will be available for purchase until 23:59 MHQ on April 30. If you’ve purchased a Secret ZeeOp, you will be able to complete it and collect rewards even after it is no longer available for purchase.

Some might say this mystery is a bit…twisted, more specifically a twister has ravaged a small Kansas farm! Reports say newly formed emerald crystallizations lead to a world filled with wonder! You must venture into an emerald city, traverse a golden bricked road, and investigate the trail of devastation left in the wake of a mysterious vigilante named Dorothy! Complete a variety of missions to unlock levels to complete the Operation. If you complete ALL the missions in Operation: House Hunter!, you’ll receive the snazzy badge below, along with the TWiST3D SiST3R Mech (more info below!) and various other rewards listed in the app!

There are 3 levels. Level 1 has 3 missions, Level 2 has 5 missions, and Level 3 has 5 missions. Each level ends with more prizes.

NEW Mech Details

Like the other Munzee Mechz, TWiST3D SiST3R is a temporary POB that will remain on the map until it has been captured 15 times.

Landing Pads

You can find this deplorable dwelling falling on landing pads above every 6 hours or when captured.

TWiST3D SiST3R will be available for multi-capture. That means players can capture TWiST3D SiST3R on their own munzees, any previously captured munzees, and more than once if the same TWiST3D SiST3R visits you. TWiST3D SiST3R is non-blastable. She will be attracted to both Physical Magnets and Virtual Magnets. You can access TWiST3D SiST3R by turning on your “All Expiring Specials” filter.

When TWiST3D SiST3R is captured, it will scatter up to 3 Psyclones on the Mech owner’s account.

These scatters will be visible to any player and expire after 120 minutes. They have a capture radius of 300 feet. These scatters will NOT count for deploy streaks, ZeeOps, or clan activity since they are passive deploys.

As with other Munzee Mechz, the badge for deploying TWiST3D SiST3R depicts the Blueprints, and is shown below:

There is also a badge for capturing TWiST3D SiST3R. Since there’s only one badge in this line, we’ll keep it a secret for now.

New Feature to Change Your Username!

Hey, everyone! A much requested, and long awaited, feature has just been added to Munzee. We’re so excited to tell you about it!

We know for a long time, some players have requested the ability to be able to change their username. We’ve finally been able to setup a way to make this possible and make sure it correctly updates all your Munzees, account data, etc.
All Munzees you have previously deployed will be converted. All Munzees in your undeployed list will be converted. You lose NOTHING!

This feature will cost 1000 Zeds per use.

How do you do this, you may ask? Visit the Munzee website and the feature to Change Username will be under Settings.

 

Then, simply scroll down to Change Username, and voila!

Some important things to note:

  • After changing usernames you will need to logout and log back in on the website AND the mobile app across all devices

  • Usernames are case sensitive, so be extra careful when typing new usernames
  • After you change your username, you may change your username to one of your own previously set usernames if you have name change regret
  • There are no limits on how many times you can change your username
  • Only a-z, A-Z, or 0-9 are allowed as characters in a username (no spaces or special characters)
  • No refund on name changes – the details are tracked in your credits history

We hope you’re as pumped as we are about this new change and that you’re granted the username of your dreams!

We have 1 new Limited Edition card for your deploying pleasure – the Pot of Gold Card:

While this card does have the same point structure as other Limited Edition cards, it does have some key differences, so here’s a breakdown:

  • When captured, it will scatter up to 3 one Rainbow Zeds which award different amounts of Zeds, to both the capper and owner.  This has been edited after sale completed to show only one scatter. We delivered an additional 1 free card per card purchased after the sale completed.
  • You may remember the Rainbow Zeds were previously introduced from MOBs in the past
  • Instead of expiring 7 days after deploy, it will expire after 3 caps, to ensure that the Zeds are awarded
  • These cards will be sold in packs of 2, vs the usual 3 for Limited Edition cards
  • Limit 20 per player (a total of 40 cards)

Explosive News!

Y’all, this is HUGE! We are SO excited to announce an update that is going to CHANGE the way that you BLAST Munzees! Check out the live announcement video from Rob on our Facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/munzeeinfo/videos/225537449887243

The masterminds over here on Team Munzee have been brainstorming ways that we can improve the performance of Blast Captures and we’re excited to announce….we’ve finally done it! Players can now set off Blasts without having to wait until the previous one finishes! That means more Blasts in less time! No more ignoring your friends while you watch the screen, waiting to blast again at events!

This will also make Boosters much more efficient! No more getting stuck when trying to set off more blasts! With the ability to quickly blast one after another, you should have ample time to queue up plenty of Blasts while a Booster is active. NOTE – While blasts can be queued up quicker, please keep in mind that the boosters must still be active when each individual Munzee is processed and captured in order for any bonuses to apply. The more Munzees blasted at once, the more time it will take to capture each one. To keep things processing quickly, we recommend setting off smaller chunks of Blasts at a time. For example, 4 mini blasts should process faster than 2 regular blasts even though both are 200 total munzees.

While blasting you’ll also notice that the pins will update MUCH quicker than before to either show as captured or disappear from the map!

It’s almost the weekend which means it’s the perfect time to try out some Blasts! Shop Blast Captures in the FT Online Store HERE so you’re all stocked up for optimal testing!
