Roald Dahl’s works are definitely among our childhood favorites, so for this year’s Roald Dahl Day, we’ve turned it into a week-long celebration! New products and a special badge are available starting today, and tomorrow we’ve got a special boost for Skylands. Read on to get the deets!

  • CapOn: 30

Remember that these munzees will be archived 7 days after they are deployed, so make sure your intended recipient captures it before then!

As you can see in the images above, the pack includes 4 candy-colored designs x 5 = 20 total stickers perfect for a sweet shoppe near you!

Golden Ticket Munzee Sweet Treats Scatter

The Golden Ticket munzee is a physical game piece. When a Golden Ticket is captured, up to 3 Sweet Treats will scatter nearby, visible only to the capper. The Sweet Treats will be deployed on the Golden Ticket owner’s account! This means that unlike Feathers/Boulders, there are CapOn points for the owner! They expire after 120 minutes and have a capture radius of 300 feet. These scatters will NOT count for deploy streaks, ZeeOps, or clan activity since they are passive deploys.

The points for these munzees are as follows:

  • Golden Ticket
    • Capture: 64
    • CapOn: 71
    • Deploy: 1,964 (for the year of Dahl’s book)
  • Sweet Treat:
    • Capture: 50
    • CapOn: 30

Badges

There are two special badges you can earn:

  • Chance upon deploying a Sweet Treats Greeting Card
  • Chance upon capturing a Sweet Treats Greeting Card
  • Guaranteed upon deploying a Golden Ticket munzee
  • Chance upon capturing a Sweet Treats Scatter

While they will be more difficult to earn once the limited-edition items leave the store, Sweet Treats Greeting Cards can be deployed at any time in the future, and Golden Ticket munzees will be permanent additions to the map. This means there will still be a (very small!) possibility to earn these badges afterwards.

Skyland Boost Details

From the period of Tuesday, September 14th at 00:01 MHQ through Sunday, September 19th at 23:59 MHQ, enjoy increased capacity and double points on Skylands!

They’ll be able to hold up to 10 bouncers instead of the usual 6, and deploy/capture/capon points for the Skyland — NOT the bouncers it holds — will be doubled!

A New Gaming Munzee Fit For a Queen!

We have a special announcement for MunzPak subscribers, as the September MunzPaks will feature the brand new Chess Set Munzees! It will be available in Virtual and Hybrid MunzPak subscriptions, which you can order in the Freeze Tag Online Store beginning on September 1 at 00:01 MHQ time (remember if you order a MunzPak before then, you will be ordering the August one!). You can also purchase these munzees by themselves or in a few Gaming Packs HERE!

Chess Sets

This new munzee type is based on the classic game of chess, which has recently enjoyed an increase in popularity due to the Netflix show, The Queen’s Gambit. Chess Sets come in both Walnut (physical) and Maple (virtual) forms, though both forms work similarly and are worth the same point values.

The point values for the Chess Sets are as follows:

Points 

  • Cap: 64
  • CapOn: 30
  • Deploy: 50

Maple Chess Sets are not blastable. To access these munzees (including the scatters), turn on their filters in the “Physical – Gaming” and “Virtual – Gaming” sections.

Chess Pieces

Capping a Chess Set will cause up to three Chess Pieces to scatter nearby, like Feathers, within 1500 feet. This means there are no CapOn points, but if you’re lucky, you’ll get the rarer pieces — the point values for all of them are shown below! They’ll stay on the map for 2 hours after scattering. The capture radius is 300 feet for these, and you’ll be able to use Rover Treats to capture them as well! These can only be seen by the person who capped the Chess Set, similar to Infrared Munzees.

The point values for the Chess Pieces are as follows:

  • Pawn: 10
  • Knight: 30
  • Bishop: 30
  • Rook: 50
  • Queen: 90
  • King: 100

Badges

There are currently 9 badges you can earn by playing with our Chess Sets, split into 2 different badge lines. One badge line, which covers 6 of those badges, is based on the number of points you’ve earned with Chess Sets and Chess Pieces. You can see the first badge in this line below:

Priority Pawn – Earn 1,000 Total Points from Chess Set Munzees of any type.

The remaining 3 badges are based on capturing a specific combination of Chess Pieces. Since these badges have special requirements we’d like you to discover as you play, we want to keep them a secret for now. Hopefully they shouldn’t be too tough for you to get!

August Garden Gnome Reminder + September Preview!

As the month comes to a close, we wanted to make sure you were heading into September with your desired Garden Gnomes! The skin for completing your August capture streak (and the corresponding badge) will be awarded in early September, but we couldn’t wait to share what’s in store!

August Garden Gnome Reminders

If you haven’t picked up a Garden Gnome yet, they are available in the Freeze Tag Store for $5.

Each month, the price of a Garden Gnome will decrease by $1. However, players can only purchase 1 Garden Gnome every 28 days.

If you’re planning to complete the capture streaks for each month (and made the initial purchase in January) you’ll have 12 different skins to choose from! So be sure to purchase one each month so you can have a complete bench of these athletic Garden Gnomes!

We also released special Reseller Garden Gnomes in March — if you’re interested, you can check out our blog post on them HERE!

September Garden Gnome Details

What Gnome Skin can you look forward to receiving in September? The playmaking Football Garden Gnome! Like the other gnomes, the Football Garden Gnome is a temporary POB that will remain on the map until 23:59 MHQ on December 31.

As stated earlier, to earn this skin, you’ll need to have completed this month’s (August’s) capture streak. Once the skin is awarded in September, you can change the skin on the gnome to this one at any point — refer to our original blog post for the instructions!

Points

  • Capture: 250
  • CapOn: 300

You can find these tough tacklers sprinting to the following landing pads every 6 hours or when captured:

Additionally, the Football Garden Gnome will scatter up to 3 NEW Gnome Touchdown Toppers nearby when it is captured!

Like the other Gnome Hats, the Gnome Touchdown Topper will be visible to any player and will be deployed on the Gnome owner’s account. This means that unlike Feathers/Boulders, there are CapOn points for the owner! They expire after 120 minutes and have a capture radius of 300 feet. These hat scatters will NOT count for deploy streaks, ZeeOps, or clan activity since they are passive deploys.

The rewards for Gnome Hats are as follows:

  • Capture: 50 points
  • CapOn: 50 points

The Football Garden Gnome will be available for multi-capture. That means players can capture Football Garden Gnomes on their own munzees, any previously captured munzees, and more than once if the same Football Garden Gnome visits you. Football Garden Gnomes are non-blastable. They will be attracted to both Physical Magnets and Virtual Magnets. You can access Football Garden Gnomes by turning on your “All Limited Edition Specials” and “All Expiring Specials” filters.

Badges

As a reminder, Garden Gnomes have 4 associated badge lines:

  • Unique type deploy badges — you’ll need to earn each month’s skin by keeping your streak up!
  • Overall deploy badges — the more gnomes you deploy, the merrier!
  • Unique type capture badges — capture at least 1 of each skinned gnome!
  • Overall capture badges — capture as many gnomes as you can find!

While we revealed images for the first of each badge line in the original post, we are happy to show you the “Unique type deploy” and “Unique type capture” badges associated with the Football Garden Gnome:

Can you believe the last time we had a proper ZEE-Dayz was in May? We’ve had some bonus days tied to the 10th Birthday Mailbox, so you may not even have noticed, but man, time flies! As in previous ZEE-Dayz we’ve got some special badges for you to earn! Read on to get the deets!

Double Points Details

In celebration of National Rum Day, From the period of Monday, August 16th at 12:00 MHQ through Sunday, August 22nd at 23:59 MHQ, enjoy double points on ALL Reseller Munzees!

This bonus is not limited to Reseller Unique Munzees (RUMs) — ALL munzees that are exclusive to Resellers are included! Here’s a list you can refer to:

Limited-Time Badges

For the same period as double points, you can earn a special badge for capturing a certain number of Reseller Munzees, and another for deploying a certain number of Reseller Munzees. Please note that although scatters from Reseller Munzees will be worth double points, they will not contribute towards the badges — we didn’t want to make them too easy to get! You can see what these badges look like below!

We’ll keep the exact requirement for the capture badge a secret, but it shouldn’t be too hard to get!

Secret ZeeOps- Operation: QRypt Capper (July 2021)

All caught up with Secret ZeeOps and looking for more? Here’s a new one available in the ZeeOps Hub for a discounted cost of 1,000 Zeds (normally Secret ZeeOps cost 1,500 Zeds)! For now, it will be available for purchase until 23:59 MHQ on July 31, but will likely return in the future at the usual cost. The past Secret ZeeOps will also be removed from the ZeeOps Hub at the end of July. However, if you’ve already purchased any of those Secret ZeeOps, you will be able to complete it and collect rewards even after it is no longer available for purchase.

Can you navigate through a labyrinthine pyramid to prevent a curse from being unleashed? If you complete ALL the missions in Operation: QRypt Capper, you’ll receive the snazzy badge below, along with the S4RC0PH4GUS Munzee (more info below!) and various other rewards listed in the app!

There are 4 levels. Level 1 has 1 mission, Level 2 has 2 missions, Level 3 has 3 missions, and Level 4 has 4 missions. Each level ends with more prizes.

We may share this information moving forward with other Operations but possibly not.

S4RC0PH4GUS Details

The S4RC0PH4GUS is unique in that after its 5th capture, it will be archived and trigger the deploy of a new MUMM33 tPOB AND up to 3 SC4RAB scatters. If you’re lucky, SC4RABs can award points and a few Zeds — but on the other side of the coin, you may lose a few points. As the MUMM33 and SC4RAB will be deployed on the S4RC0PH4GUS owner’s account, there are CapOn rewards for the owner! You can get the full details in our Help Guide article HERE!

Please note that capping the S4RC0PH4GUS will NOT count towards the Daily ZeeOps mission “Capture any Munzee that scatters other Munzees” as it only scatters on the 5th capture.

Birthday QRates in the Wild?!

Nine days ago, we revealed what was waiting inside the Birthday Qrate for Tier 3 10th Birthday Mailbox members — the MechaniC4K3! It definitely caught your attention with its high deploy points, and we were happy to see it was an enjoyable surprise! Of course, we didn’t want to leave the rest of the players out indefinitely, so we thought it would be nice to release the Blueprints (just the Blueprints, no auto-deployed tPOB) in a slightly different Birthday QRate for all!

What’s Different?

  • It will require 100 physical munzee captures to open — the 10th Birthday Mailbox’s Birthday QRate only required 25 captures
  • Upon opening the QRate, there is a chance to receive the MechaniC4K3 Blueprint, but it is NOT guaranteed — the 10th Birthday Mailbox’s Birthday QRate is guaranteed to deploy a fully-built MechaniC4K3 AND award the Blueprint
    • Other prizes in the prize pool include a previously unreleased Cubimal, and 5-packs of certain Greeting Cards
    • If you already own the MechaniC4K3 Blueprint (i.e. if you are a Tier 3 10th Birthday Mailbox member) you will receive one of the other prizes

Birthday QRate Spoiler!

If you’re a Tier 3 member of the 10th Birthday Mailbox, there’s a reason why the requirements are set to just 25 physical captures — we wanted you to open it ASAP! Inside the Birthday QRate, you will receive a fully-built MechaniC4K3 that auto-deploys. You will also receive the Blueprint to rebuild it as many times as you like with the Cogs you’ve earned from Daily ZeeOps. Remember that you’ll need to head to the Redeem Store to do so!

MechaniC4K3 Details

The MechaniC4K3 is a temporary POB. It will deploy on your account when you complete the requirements to open the Birthday QRate awarded from the 10th Birthday Mailbox. The mailbox must be capped on July 3rd 00:01-23:59 MHQ time to receive the Birthday QRate. It will stay on the map until it has been captured 10 times, when it will be archived on your account. After the tenth capture a MechaniC4K3 will be “crumbled” which results in more points for the capper.

MechaniC4K3 will bounce to certain virtual munzees (listed below) for the first 9 captures, but after being capped 9 times it will land on a physical munzee where it can now be crumbled. If you’ve ever deployed a Butterfly or Frog Evolution munzee, these will behave similarly with a few exceptions.

Points

  • Deploy: 1,000
  • Capture: 250
  • CapOn: 150
  • Crumble (10th Cap): 500

You can find these terrifying treats rolling to the following landing pads every 3 hours or when captured:

Badges

Deploying a MechaniC4K3 will earn you the Blueprint badge shown below. There is also a line of capture badges that you can earn for MechaniC4K3 captures! You can see the first badge in this line below.

Past Secret ZeeOps Return!

Agents, as the world is still recovering from the past year, we know not everything has gone according to plan. Some of you have wanted to participate in Secret ZeeOps, but it just wasn’t in the cards. Since we’ve shaken things up, we thought the time was right to offer a second chance at the past Ops! You can find them in the ZeeOps Hub.

If you haven’t gotten a L.A.S.E.R. Shark Blueprint yet, remember that you’ll receive the base one as a reward for Operation: ZEEcret Admirer, the Golden one as a reward for Operation: Green Thumb, and the Arctic one as a reward for Operation: Lady Luck.
