Candy Corn Credit and Koobas Sale!

With less than 3 days left until November, it’s crunch time for our Halloween-themed releases. By popular demand, we’ve put a few items for sale in the Freeze Tag Store that should help round out your month!

Last Chance at Koobas!

While Koobas was in the store quite recently during the ZEE-Dayz period, it did take a little break and disappeared (perhaps using a Void Mystery) for a bit. If you were hoping to pick one up, it’s back in the store until 12:00 MHQ on Monday, November 1st. You can shop Koobas HERE!

Need a refresher on how Koobas works? Check out its debut blog post!

Candy Corn at the Freeze Tag Store!

We were surprised to hear that some players were interested in buying Candy Corn Credits — we thought everyone would have too many to know what to do with by the end of the month! But maybe you’ve been unlucky with the munzees near you, or, on the other hand, perhaps you’ve been making great use of them and just need a few more to tide you over. We’ll be holding a super-limited time sale on Candy Corn Credits for less than 48 hours, from 12:00 MHQ on Monday, November 1st to 17:00 MHQ on Tuesday, November 2nd. If you’re interested, you can purchase a pack of 100 Candy Corn Credits for $5 when the sale starts HERE! Limit one pack per player.

As we’re close to the end of the month, please keep in mind the deadlines we announced in our original CCC post:

  • Candy Corn Credits can be earned from 00:01 MHQ on Friday, October 1st to 23:59 MHQ on Sunday, October 31st.
  • Candy Corn Credits can only be redeemed until 02:30 MHQ on Wednesday, November 3rd (when November Clan Wars starts).

Make sure to head to the Redeem Store and check out all 4 “Halloween” tabs to use up as much of your CCC as you can! You may find a new item there as we get closer to November 3!

We hope you get your fill of Candy Corn before the month’s over!

October Garden Gnome Reminder + November Preview!

As the month comes to a close, we wanted to make sure you were heading into November with your desired Garden Gnomes! The skin for completing your October capture streak (and the corresponding badge) will be awarded in early November, but we couldn’t wait to share what’s in store!

October Garden Gnome Reminders

If you haven’t picked up a Garden Gnome yet, they are available in the Freeze Tag Store for $3.

Each month, the price of a Garden Gnome will decrease by $1. However, players can only purchase 1 Garden Gnome every 28 days.

If you’re planning to complete the capture streaks for each month (and made the initial purchase in January) you’ll have 12 different skins to choose from! So be sure to purchase one each month so you can have a complete bench of these athletic Garden Gnomes!

We also released special Reseller Garden Gnomes in March — if you’re interested, you can check out our blog post on them HERE!

November Garden Gnome Details

What Gnome Skin can you look forward to receiving in November? The low reaction time eSports Garden Gnome! Like the other gnomes, the eSports Garden Gnome is a temporary POB that will remain on the map until 23:59 MHQ on December 31.

As stated earlier, to earn this skin, you’ll need to have completed this month’s (October’s) capture streak. Once the skin is awarded in November, you can change the skin on the gnome to this one at any point — refer to our original blog post for the instructions!

Points

  • Capture: 250
  • CapOn: 300

You can find these nimble-fingered gnomes moving their avatars to the following landing pads every 6 hours or when captured:

Additionally, the eSports Garden Gnome will scatter up to 3 NEW Gnome Gaming Headsets nearby when it is captured!

Like the other Gnome Hats, the Gnome Gaming Headset will be visible to any player and will be deployed on the Gnome owner’s account. This means that unlike Feathers/Boulders, there are CapOn points for the owner! They expire after 120 minutes and have a capture radius of 300 feet. These hat scatters will NOT count for deploy streaks, ZeeOps, or clan activity since they are passive deploys.

The rewards for Gnome Hats are as follows:

  • Capture: 50 points
  • CapOn: 50 points

The eSports Garden Gnome will be available for multi-capture. That means players can capture eSports Garden Gnomes on their own munzees, any previously captured munzees, and more than once if the same eSports Garden Gnome visits you. eSports Garden Gnomes are non-blastable. They will be attracted to both Physical Magnets and Virtual Magnets. You can access eSports Garden Gnomes by turning on your “All Limited Edition Specials” and “All Expiring Specials” filters.

Badges

As a reminder, Garden Gnomes have 4 associated badge lines:

  • Unique type deploy badges — you’ll need to earn each month’s skin by keeping your streak up!
  • Overall deploy badges — the more gnomes you deploy, the merrier!
  • Unique type capture badges — capture at least 1 of each skinned gnome!
  • Overall capture badges — capture as many gnomes as you can find!

While we revealed images for the first of each badge line in the original post, we are happy to show you the “Unique type deploy” and “Unique type capture” badges associated with the eSports Garden Gnome:

We hope you’ll keep up all your usual strategies to earn November’s Gnome Skin — phone alarms FTW! Don’t forget to keep your streak up through November — you’ll need to in order to earn the final December Gnome Skin!

More on Halloween Skins and Candy Corn!

There’s only 10 days left until Halloween, but we wanted to squeeze in a few more themed treats for you to enjoy!

Halloween Skins

Originally, the first of these, the Candy Corn Unicorn, was quietly launched in the [Halloween (Week 2)] tab of the Redeem Store. While it was fun to launch it with a bit of mystery, we also wanted to make sure you didn’t miss out — hence the social post just before next week’s goodies appeared. Earlier this week, we did the same for the LepreCorn.

As we’re launching the final batch of these skins now, we wanted to take this opportunity to clear up what they are and how to use them.

Halloween skins are very similar to Garden Gnome skins:

  • You use the [Convert] option either in the app or on the website to apply them
  • Applying a skin does not count as a new deploy
  • You can switch between skins as much as you like
  • Halloween skins change the landing pads of the Myths (Garden Gnomes mostly have the same landing pads, but each has at least 1 type unique to them)

The only difference is:

  • Halloween skins can only be applied to upgraded Myths, which are permanent POBs (Garden Gnome skins can only be applied to Garden Gnomes, which are tPOBs)
    • In other words, skins you own will never go away, but in the case of Garden Gnomes, the bouncers you apply them to will
  • If you don’t own these myths yet you can purchase them now, but remember you’ll need to upgrade as well.

NEW Skins

Now that that’s out of the way, here are the remaining Halloween skins! These skins will be available in the Freeze Tag Store as a 3-Pack! You can shop them HERE!

The landing pads for these are:

  • Monster Yeti:
    • Greenie
    • Barn (Stage 3 only!)
    • Bones (Stage 3 only!)
  • Nightmare Pegasus:
  • Midnight Dragon:

NEW Badges

We’ve also created 2 badges relating to Candy Corn Credits. You can see what they look like below:

The one on the left requires you to earn a certain number of CCC, while the one on the right is obtainable by a rather unorthodox method (HINT: if you’re not hoarding Candy Corn, where does it go?) — though it shouldn’t be too difficult for anyone to get!

We also have a NEW Halloween themed Personal Tag featuring some of our new Candy Corn collectors!  This limited edition tag is available for purchase in the FT Online Store HERE!

We hope you look forward to seeing some costumed Myths on the map, and that you harvest these ripe new badges!

Destination Renovation Part 3: Hotels!

There’s a reason we included Hotels as one of the types you can earn Candy Corn Credits from — not only does it perfectly fit in with our Halloween theme, it also was the next on our list for an upgrade! It’s been tough to rework these more complex game pieces, but we are excited to announce that Destination Renovations are now LIVE for Hotel Munzees!

This new feature will allow players to renovate Hotels and add additional rooms for even more capping fun. You’ll be able to renovate any Hotel Munzee (whether you own it or not) on both the web and Munzee app. Find a breakdown of all the details below!

Hotel Details

Hotel Munzees are now on a star-based system like Virtual Resorts and Motels. Each star ranking equals 5 rooms, so effective immediately all original Hotel Munzees have been converted into 2-Star Hotels. The icon images on the map are currently updating, but if you do see a “blank” or original Hotel icon please note, that is indeed a 2-Star Hotel. The image caching should be resetting throughout this first day or so.

Renovating Hotels will offer the following:

  • 2-Star Hotel: 10 Rooms (Standard Hotel)
  • 3-Star Hotel: 15 Rooms
  • 4-Star Hotel: 20 Rooms

By renovating you could be a part of a 4-Star Hotel that is worth a substantial amount of points! Every time you Renovate a Hotel you’ll earn 50 points as well, so get your construction hat on!

The Destination Renovation is currently only available for Hotel, Virtual Resort, and Motel Munzees aka Destination Munzees!

So how do you Renovate a Hotel? The same way as Renovating a Motel! Check out our Help Guide article if you need a refresher!

All Hotel Munzee credits have now been converted into Destination Credits. Players will need Destination Credits to renovate and deploy Hotels. You will see this conversion documented at munzee.com/credits as 2 destination credits for each hotel credit you owned.

  • Renovating a Hotel = 1 Destination Credit per 5 rooms
  • Deploying a new 2 star Hotel = 2 Destination Credits

Don’t forget to check if you already have Destination Credits in your inventory! Otherwise, you can purchase Destination Credits in the Freeze Tag Online Store and the In-App Store (click HERE if you’re on your Munzee-playing device), so be sure to stock up in case you come across any Hotels, Virtual Resorts, or Motels with no vacancy!

We hope you’re raring to use more Destination Credits with this new option! We’re always looking for ways to refresh the map and add value to game pieces you may already own!

A Creepy Crawly ZEE-Dayz!

Mitmegu’s new evolutions received such a warm welcome last week that we decided to continue the Pouch Creature fun by making it the theme for this month’s ZEE-Dayz! It’s been a while since we released a non-Funfinity Stone creature, so we’ve got a new one for you to play with! Other than Pouch Creatures, we’ve included another popular munzee type in our double points period — read on to get the deets!

NEW Pouch Creature Details

Urgasmegu isn’t the only POB attracted to Void Mysteries. Meet Koobas, the dark depths dwelling Pouch Creature! Pouch Creatures are bouncing munzees based on items from our sister app, WallaBee.

You can shop Koobas HERE and the Pouch Creature collection HERE, but be sure to purchase before all the Pouch Creatures leave the store!

Koobas will bounce to Virtuals, Void Mysteries, and Skylands every 6 hours or when capped. Like Tuli, Vesi, and Muru, Koobas is an evolving Pouch Creature that will change icons depending on the number of captures in a daily streak. After a specified number of total captures, the Pouch Creatures will “level up” when daily streaks are attained.

The timeframe is as follows:

  • Level 1: 0 or 1 day of Capture (Day 2 new level)
  • Level 2: 2 days of Capture in a row (Day 3 new level)
  • Level 3: 3 or more days of Capture in a row

When the streak is broken, the Pouch Creature will revert to Level 1.

Deploying an Koobas will earn you 250 points. The Capture and CapOn points will vary per level as follows:

  • Koobas (Level 1)
    • Capture: 200 points
    • CapOn: 100 Points
    • CapOn (Host Owner): 50 points
  • Kartus (Level 2)
    • Capture: 300 points
    • CapOn: 200 Points
    • CapOn (Host Owner): 50 points
  • Kabuhirm (Level 3)
    • Capture: 500 points
    • CapOn: 300 points
    • CapOn (Host Owner): 50 points

When the Bouncer Upgrade credit is used, your Koobas will also have the ability to be “nudged” to a new munzee. You can use the nudge feature up to three times a day (MHQ 24-hour day), but only after your munzee has sat for at least 3 hours. Additionally, the Bouncer Upgrade will also allow you to rename your Koobas! The name will still retain the unique number, but feel free to get creative and customize your Pouch Creature’s moniker. Please keep in mind our player code of conduct, and be mindful of maintaining a family friendly environment!

Koobas will be available for multi-capture. That means players can capture Koobas on their own munzees, any previously captured munzees, and more than once if the same Koobas visits you. Koobas will be non-blastable. The capture radius is 500 ft (152.4 m). It will be attracted to Virtual Magnets ONLY as Koobas (Level 1). You can access Koobas under the “All Expiring Specials” and “All Pouch Creatures” filters.

New Badges!

There will be a number of badges to enjoy along with Koobas, including the following Deploy badge:

Koobas Pouch Creature Munzee- Deploy Koobas Pouch Creature Munzee.

Additionally there will be three badges to earn for Koobas, Kartus, and Kabuhirm for a total of 9 additional Capture badges. The first badge per each level will appear as follows:

If you want to brush up on any Pouch Creature knowledge, be sure to check out our Help Guide!

The Return of the Halloween Greeting Card and More!

Yesterday we released the full details of Candy Corn Credits, which referenced interactions with Limited Edition Greeting Cards both old and new. Here’s what’s in stock for this month!

We are happy to announce 5 NEW Greeting Cards — 1 is available for purchase from the Freeze Tag Online Store HERE, while the other 4 can be obtained by redeeming Candy Corn Credits HERE (make sure to click on the [Halloween (Week 1)]) tab! Read the details in the store, or see below.

NEW Greeting Card Munzee Details

We have 5 new Limited Edition cards for your deploying pleasure!

While these are Limited Edition cards, there are some key differences we’d like you to take note of:

  • The Trick or Treat Card will be available in the Freeze Tag Store.
    • It is unique in that, once you cap it, it will scatter another Trick or Treat pail for you to cap. Once you cap that scatter, a popup will appear to reveal either a Trick or a Treat! If you got a Treat, you will earn a Candy Corn Credit!
    • The Trick or Treat pail will be visible only to the capper and will be deployed on the Trick or Treat Card owner’s account. It is worth 50 points for Capture, and 25 CapOn points for the owner! They expire after 120 minutes, have a capture radius of 300 feet, and you’ll be able to use Rover Treats to capture them as well. These scatters will NOT count for deploy streaks, ZeeOps, or clan activity since they are passive deploys.
    • As this card will give more points than the regular Limited Edition card due to the scatters AND it will potentially award CCC, it will be sold in packs of 2, rather than the usual packs of 3.
  • The Frankenstein, Mummy, Vampire, and Werewolf Cards — which we collectively have been referring to as the “CHOMPliment Cards” (you’ll see why if you pick some up!) — will be available in the Redeem Store.
    • As mentioned previously, they will cost 1 CCC per card, up to a limit of 10 per design, and you have a chance of earning CCC upon capping these cards as well.
    • However, unlike the Trick or Treat Card, these will not scatter anything.
  • As mentioned in yesterday’s post, the owners of these cards also have a chance to earn CCC via CapOn.

Don’t forget to edit the title and the notes to add a personal touch! While the capture message will contain your Munzee username as all Greeting Card capture messages do, we think typing in a more specific note will go a long way to creating a more unique and special experience!

Return of Halloween Greeting Cards!

New Mechs for Oktoberfest!

Nothing quite rings in the fall season like Oktoberfest! We love the festivities so much that in 2013, it was the theme for first MHQ Bash — if you were around last year, you may remember our Bash from the Past special that was a throwback to that time. We featured Oktoberfest again in 2017’s MHQ Bash. Since we won’t be able to celebrate as we usually do, we designed some new Munzee Mechs to bring the party to you! Please welcome SteinBot and CarafeBorg!

NEW Mech Details

SteinBots and CarafeBorgs are temporary POBs that will remain on the map until they have been captured 5 times. The SteinBot is available at the Freeze Tag Store HERE. The CarafeBorg will be available in the In-App Store! When you purchase a SteinBot or CarafeBorg, you will receive a fully-built SteinBot or CarafeBorg that auto-deploys. You will also receive the Blueprint to rebuild it when you have earned enough Cogs in the future. These Mechs will be available until 12:00 MHQ on Thursday, October 7th.

Points

  • Deploy: 500
  • Capture: 250
  • CapOn: 100
  • Crush (5th Cap): 500

You can find these droid drink makers serving orders at the following landing pads every 6 hours or when captured:

SteinBots and CarafeBorgs will be available for multi-capture. That means players can capture SteinBots and CarafeBorgs on their own munzees, any previously captured munzees, and more than once if the same SteinBot or CarafeBorg visits you. SteinBots and CarafeBorgs are non-blastable. They will be attracted to both Physical Magnets and Virtual Magnets. You can access SteinBots and CarafeBorgs by turning on your “All Expiring Specials” filter.

When a SteinBot is captured, it will scatter up to 3 Botwursts. Similarly, when a CarafeBorg is captured, it will scatter up to 3 Dronuts.

These will be visible to any player and will be deployed on the SteinBot or CarafeBorg owner’s account. This means that unlike Feathers/Boulders, there are CapOn rewards for the owner! They expire after 120 minutes, have a capture radius of 300 feet, and you’ll be able to use Rover Treats to capture them as well. These scatters will NOT count for deploy streaks, ZeeOps, or clan activity since they are passive deploys.

The rewards for Botwursts and Dronuts are as follows:

  • Capture: 50 points
  • CapOn: 25 points

Badges

Deploying a SteinBot or a CarafeBorg will earn you the corresponding Blueprint badge. You can see these badges below.

There is also a line of capture badges that you can earn for SteinBot, Botwurst, CarafeBorg or Dronut Munzee captures! You can see the first badge in this line below.

We hope these mechs help keep you hydrated during the festivities!
