Get Fit Munzee Trail Recap
Hey, everyone! Matt here. I was off last week, but I wanted to recap my trip to South Carolina for the kickoff of the Get Fit Munzee Trail!
Erica (AgentSmiley) approached us about creating a Munzee trail as part of her Silver Award for Girl Scouts. I, an Eagle Scout myself, loved the idea of using Munzee to help with a community service project for a great organization. The team worked with Erica and her family to plan and release a 30 stop trail in Spartanburg, South Carolina dubbed the Get Fit Munzee Trail. This trail is a permanent fixture on the Munzee map, and can be seen using the Tourism filter.
The trail went live on Saturday, September 2nd with a kickoff event. We spent the morning walking the 2.45 mile walking trail while capping the new Trail Munzees and event icons that had been deployed. This was some players’ first time playing and attending an event, and it was great to see the Munzee community in action helping them learn.
After the morning event, we all went out to cap some more then met up for a “cool down” event to grab some food, enjoy each other’s company, and cap more event munzees.
I had a great time, and I want to thank everyone who came out or supported from afar. I’m happy that we were able to help Erica with her project as well as grow the Munzee community.
Rob and I will be back at events soon, and we can’t wait to meet and see more of you!
Munzee on!
