Introducing the Zodiac Munzee Line

When we launched the MunzPak service, we wanted to provide subscribers with new munzees and exclusive launches. With the October MunzPak, we will be doing just that. It will include the beginning of a new line of munzees: The Zodiac Munzees. These are physical stickers, not credits or virtuals.

Each month will include a new member of the Zodiac line, starting with Scorpio in October. Every Zodiac will be worth 10 deploy, capture, and cap on points. During the zodiac’s range, however, those numbers will double. For example, if a Scorpio is deployed or captured between October 23rd and November 21st, it will be worth 20 capture, deploy, and cap on points. Players will also earn a corresponding badge when they deploy a Zodiac Munzee. You can also see this information at https://www.munzee.com/types. Zodiac stickers will be mailed each month in the MunzPak and available exclusively in this program.

October’s MunzPak will include 5 Scorpio Munzees, 1 Ruby Munzee, 1 Hotel Munzee, 1 Virtual Amethyst Munzee, and a $5 gift certificate to the Munzee Store that will be emailed to you.

If you aren’t currently a MunzPak subscriber and want to get September’s Virtual MunzPak, you can still subscribe before the end of the month. Once your subscription has processed this is your renewal date. If you would like to move that date forward in October you can email us on the date you would like your October’s MunzPak to be processed at orders@munzee.com. **We are only able to move your subscription to the current date**

The Nomad Munzees Have Escaped

Every munzee type has it’s own personality. Greenies are the dependable ones, always there for you and providing constant support. Mysteries are the wildcards, rarely the same but always fun. The gems are ever perfect and very rare. Then, of course, there are the specials. Those guys are erratic. Sometimes even Team Munzee has a hard time figuring them out. We let them loose every once in a while, but they always come back to us to prepare for their next release. There’s one group, however, that has escaped, and this time, they’re not coming back.

Today, 10 Nomad Munzees escaped into the wild. Instead of trying to reign them back in, we’re going to let them roam around. The problem is that
they are kind of slow. They need you to help them along their journeys. How? We’re glad you asked.

These 10 Nomads will be bouncing all over the world, 5 on greenies and 5 on regular virtuals, Mystery Virtual Munzees, and white MVMs. They use so much energy to travel across the world so quickly that they need to rest on their host munzees for 12 hours. If you capture them, however, they can go instantly. In return for your help, you’ll be rewarded with 100 capture points and the host of the munzee that they’re staying on will be rewarded with 20 capture on points. Don’t be alarmed when you see these guys out in the wild. They just want to travel and see the world. We’re going to let them, and you should help them out.

Remember the Alamo! New specials live on the map.

In celebration of Texas Independence Day (March 2, 1836) we have released new specials to the map. These new pins commemorate the Battle of the Alamo where Texans fended off Mexican attacks from taking the Alamo, a Mexican mission, for 13 days before falling to Santa Anna’s forces. This battle became an inspirational moment in the battle for Texas Independence and to this day the Alamo still plays a huge part in Texas history.

254 Alamo pins will be across the map worldwide, bouncing to a new location every 6 hours. There is a 36 point split between owner and capper, with each getting a minimum of 5 points. The pins will stay on the map for 13 days, from March 2 until March 15. By capping an Alamo pin you will also get a Come an Cap It badge as well. February 2015 Clan Requirements… with a twist.

This month’s Clan Requirements have kicked the new year up a notch. The focus for February is mysteries, so prepare for war. Also, as this is a New Year, we’ve decided to take a New Perspective for Clan Wars. Starting from February, we’ll reward the TOP 3 players in each full clan. So it’s no longer just a competition between clans, but also in-clan. We want our players to push their clan forward, but also promote a little friendly rivalry within the clans. The top 3 players in each clan will be rewarded after the round has finished- so the winners of February will be receive their prizes in March for the first time.

Individual Rewards:

#1 gets a battle axe
#2 gets a longsword
#3 gets a mace munzee.

Trail Munzees are available now!

For those who made it through all 5 episodes of Rob’s adventures in the “Tale of Trails” web series, we’re sure you’ve been on the edge of your seats waiting for more information about the new Trail Munzee. Well the time has finally come- you can buy your 5 pack of Green Trail Munzees in the online store now! For $5 you get one complete Green Trail made up of 5 Trail Munzee credits. Each of the munzees can be deployed within a 5 mile radius of the starting point. Each munzee must be deployed at least 1000 feet from other Trail munzees.

The Trail Munzee is a credit applied to your account and used for conversion of regular “greenie” munzees. A previously deployed greenie can be converted to a trail munzee only if it has had zero captures. You can see your available credits at www.munzee.com/credits.

You will receive 5 points per deploy of a trail Munzee, but your trail will not become live until you deploy all 5 munzees.

When capping a trail only the first munzee will be visible on the map, but as you capture each Trail Munzee the next in line will appear for your to follow. If you stumble upon a Trail Munzee that is not next in line you will receive an error message.

As you cap the trail the points you receive will increase as you progress.

Stops one and two are worth 5 points for capture and owner cap on.
Stops three and four are worth 10 points for capture and owner cap on.
Stop five is worth 30 points for capture for completing the trail, and 30 points for owner cap on for creating a good trail.

The goal of the Trail Munzee is to move beyond the light pole, the street sign, and the parking lot. Create a trail that leads other players to something worth seeing. Lead them on a tour of your favorite local places. Take them to places that are off the beaten path. This purchase will allow you to blaze your own trail!

The Winner of the 2014 Munzee Photo Contest!

After weeks of photo submissions from our players, the 2014 Munzee Photo Contest has found its winner. Among hundreds of submissions, the top 5 photos were chosen and we invited players to our Facebook page to vote on which image perfectly embodied the Munzee experience. The winner, who captured the photo below, is Luciano Reis (fotoluca) and he found the combination of urban construction and rural landscape to be a perfect balance of Munzee’s wide variety of play. Guy Fawkes Day Special Icons

Munzee will have special icons on the map in remembrance of the events of November 5, 1605, when Guy Fawkes, a member of the Gunpowder Plot, was arrested while guarding explosives placed beneath the House of Lords.

From November 4th until November 7th 1,605 dynamite icons will bounce around the world and it’s up to our players to find them. The icons and special map will go live tomorrow morning at 10 AM MHQ time and will disappear at 10 AM on the 7th. Much like authorities had to find the explosives Fawkes had hidden, Munzee players will be tasked with finding the dynamite icons placed throughout the map before it’s too late! Dynamite icons will bounce every 6 hours unless captured before then. By finding at least one dynamite special you’ll also capture Fawkes and be rewarded with a special Guy Fawkes badge. You’ll receive 16 points for capturing a dynamite icon and standard cap on points are in effect. You may not capture your own munzee.

The Munzee Munch October Special!

In celebration of the popular 8-bit video game Pac-Man™ and in connection with the North American holiday of Halloween, Munzee is proud to announce the Munzee Munch specials! Starting Monday, October 13th Munzee Power Pellets will show up across the map, where they will bounce every six hours if not captured. Similar to the arcade game, once players “munch” on the the power pellet three ghastly Ghostzees will appear within a one mile radius of the capped pellet. Each Ghostzee will haunt a different greenie (regular munzee), but be warned they could possibly haunt your own Munzees. Unfortunately you can’t cap your own Munzees though, so a different ghost hunter will have to cap those. The Ghostzees won’t be there for long and you’ll only have two hours to cap all three. You’ll also be racing any other nearby Munzee players because once the pellet has been munched, anyone can cap the three Ghostzees that appear.

There will be 1,980 power pellets bouncing across the world (viewable on a special map) until November 1st at 00:01 CST (MHQ time). You will get 50 points for munching a power pellet as well as a special icon. Cap on points are normal for the owner of the power pellet munzee. Once a Ghostzee is captured players will get 34 points split between owner and capper (10 point minimum for each) and a ghost icon. A greenie has the chance to be a Ghostzee more than once, but power pellets will only land on a munzee once and when captured that munzee cannot become a pellet again. *For clan players all power pellet and ghostzee caps will be 2x for clan points!*

You will also get a Munzee Munch badge if you capture a Ghostzee, whether you munched the pellet or not, but you do not need to cap all three for the badge.

October Clan Wars

It’s time for a special twist! This month we want to reward you for physical gameplay.

October will be largely based on your activity out there in the QR code based real world known as MunzeeLand! That’s right, we are rewarding you with 2x clan points for Activity on *physical QR code based Munzees! 1 **virtual capture = regular points. 1 virtual deploy = regular points. 1 physical capture = double clan points. 1 physical deploy = double clan points. This multiplier only effects the clan score not the individual player overall game score. In other words, real game player points of an individual will not be effected by the doubling of clan points on physical munzees. Expanded example: Player captures mystery sticker for 25 points and receives 25×2 = 50 for clan points. Player captures mystery virtual for 25 points and receives 25 for clan points. Player captures a greenie and receives 5 player points but 5×2 = 10 clan points. Capture on points will not be effected during the clan war (they will not be doubled for clan score or personal score). They count just like normal points in a normal month. Example: 3 capture on points equals 3 points for clan score and in normal game.

Level 1: All 10 members must earn 500 clan points each. Rewarded with 2 Munzee maces.

Level 2: All 10 members must earn 1250 clan points each. Rewarded with 2 Munzee Longswords.

Level 3: All 10 members must earn 3000 clan points each. Rewarded with 1 Munzee mace, 1 Munzee longsword, 1 Munzee battle axe.

Level 4: All 10 members must earn 7500 clan points each. Rewarded with 2 Munzee maces, 2 Munzee longswords, 1 Diamond, 1 Ruby, and 1 motel.

Level 5: All 10 members must earn 20000 clan points each. Rewarded with 2 Munzee battle axes, 2 Diamond munzees, 2 Ruby munzees, and 2 motels.

*Physical munzees include greenies (regular), mystery, mace, longsword, battle axe, motel, diamond, ruby, premium, business, and quiz munzees.

**Virtual includes all mystery virtual munzees and virtual munzees, including those captured via a blast capture.

Birthday Sale for Premium Munzee Users
