Earth Day Charity Special Update

Howdy!

First off, we would like to thank you for your support of our Earth Day Charity Special. We love seeing players interact and help each other for deployments and captures, and it’s even better when it’s for a good cause.

Earth Day Evolutions will leave the Freeze Tag Online Store on Monday, April 9th at 10:00 MHQ time. This is to ensure that, if deployed immediately, they will be fully evolved by the time they leave the map so you get the most out of them. So if you haven’t purchased any Earth Day Evolutions yet, you still have time! Don’t forget there are badges for capping AND deploying these specials!

MunzPaks are back!

Howdy!

We’ve been working on updates to our MunzPak subscription services, and we’re happy to announce that MunzPaks are once again available RIGHT NOW! We’ve made a couple of changes that we think you will enjoy:

There are now 3 MunzPaks to choose from: Physical MunzPak, Hybrid MunzPak, and Virtual MunzPak.
MunzPak subscriptions are now handled through the Freeze Tag Online Store.
The Physical MunzPak is re-launching with a new line of munzees!

Along with the Physical and Virtual MunzPaks that you know and love, we’re introducing a new Hybrid MunzPak that combines the best of the physical and virtual Munzee gameplay. The Physical and Virtual MunzPaks will retain their subscription prices of $15 and $25, respectively. The new Hybrid MunzPak will include physical and virtual game items and credits for $20.01. You can find all three new MunzPaks in the Freeze Tag Online Store here. When you are viewing the MunzPaks, you have the option of subscribing or making a one time purchase for a fee.

If you subscribe to any (or all) of the MunzPaks, you will be provided a link to an account dashboard where you can manage your subscriptions, see your delivery schedule, view and edit your billing information, and see your purchase history.

You will be billed monthly on your delivery date with one small change. Now, virtual and credit items will be applied to your account immediately after purchase instead of at midnight MHQ time the following day.

One time purchases of MunzPaks will result in being charged the minimum values of each MunzPak:

Physical MunzPak: $25
Hybrid MunzPak: $30
Virtual MunzPak: $40

The Chinese Zodiacs will work similarly to the Western Zodiacs in that they will be worth double points when capped and deployed during specific times. Instead of being worth double points during certain days/months, they will be worth double points during their corresponding days (00:01-23:59 MHQ time).

We are beginning with the Dog Zodiac Munzee and will release a new Chinese Zodiac every month through the Physical MunzPak subscription. Each Chinese Zodiac Munzee is worth 20 points for Deploy, Capture, and CapOn. Those numbers double to 40 points during each Zodiacs’ specific day.

More MunzPak Changes

At the end of February, we announced that we would be making some changes to the Physical MunzPak. We haven’t forgotten about the Physical MunzPak even though we’ve had to entirely skip the month of March. However, the physical MunzPak WILL return in April. We are also making some changes to the Virtual MunzPak.

While we can’t go into all of the details quite yet, there are some things you need to know:

All current Virtual MunzPak subscriptions will end at 23:59:59 MHQ Time on March 31st.
Both MunzPaks will be available again early next week.
All the changes will be worth the wait (in our humble opinion)

We also have another surprise or two that we will announce early next week, so keep an eye on the blog!

Pie.. Uh.. Pi Day 2018 Specials!

If you didn’t know, Rob taught math in his pre-Munzee life. Among the, shall we say, quirks that have carried over from that time is a love for certain numbers. One of those is 3.14, or Pi. Here in the U.S., there is a large population that likes to celebrate Pi Day on March 14th (aka 3.14). We’re getting in on that celebration this year (and making it international) with our Pi Day 2018 specials!

From now (10:00 MHQ time on March 13th) through Sunday, March 18th at 23:59 MHQ time, 3141 Pi Day Specials will bounce on greenies every 3.14 hours (188 minutes) or when capped. When you cap a Pi Day Special, you will earn 31 points. The owner of the host munzee will earn 14 points.

You also have the chance to earn 2 badges during this special. By capping at least one Pi Day Special, you will earn the “Pi Day 2018” badge.

The second badge is a bit different. To earn the “Mixed Fillings” badge, you have to collectively cap and/or deploy a minimum of 314 munzees of any type (e.g. cap 250 munzees and deploy 64, or cap 114 munzees and deploy 200, any combination with a sum of 314 or more) while the specials are active.

Other items to note about this special:

These specials will be active under the Only Expiring Specials and Only Seasonal Specials filters.
These can be captured on your own munzees.
These are attracted by Magnets.
These count toward the Special Hunters badges.

But that’s not all! We also have a limited number of Pi Day 2018 Personal Munzees available in the Munzee Online Store. These are circular, metal tags sublimated with the “Pi Day 2018” badge on one side and a Personal Munzee on the back.

These Personal Munzees are available for $10 while supplies last.

Munzee Version 3.4.4

Howdy, everyone!

Earlier this morning we pushed Munzee 3.4.4 to the Google Play and Apple App Stores. Along with an updated scanner and minor fixes/improvements, this new version adds support for the Mini ZeeOps that can be earned by capturing the dossiers spilled by the new Briefcase Munzees. You must have the new version of the app installed for this feature to work properly.

Introducing the new Temporary Virtual!

UPDATE: As of November 2019 Temporary Virtuals no longer expire 30 days after they are purchased. Now Temp Virts will expire 30 days after they have been deployed.

We’re excited to announce a new product called the Temporary Virtual! This new virtual item would allow players to deploy in areas that would usually not be beneficial to place a more expensive game piece or to help other players hit goals.

Much like Flat Robs and Flat Matts. these new items will be on a new layer of the map, so you don’t have to worry about trying to deploy in areas that are already overrun with other munzees. This will be especially helpful for deploying at high profile events like Munzee Madness this weekend in Southern California!

These new items are currently for sale in the Munzee Online Store and available on Quick Deploy as of 10:00 MHQ!

ZeeOps: Mission Mulligan & Briefcase Munzee

Agents it has now been a year since we released our first set of Operations. In that time you have taken down Mean Greenies, stopped hordes of Evos, battled the ancient First Clan, and more. We thank you for your service and we’re proud to announce a couple updates regarding the program before we release the Operations for March.

MISSION MULLIGAN

To start things off, we’re excited to announce a new feature that is sure to help you all on your Missions. The new Mission Mulligan feature will allow you to continue an Operation even if you fail a Mission. So if you fail a Mission on Day 2 of an Operation, you can use this feature to complete* that Mission without risking the success of the Operation.

This feature can only be used once per Operation.
Can only be used while the Operation is still ongoing.
Must be used on/before your last day.

*Note you will NOT have to redo the failed Mission, it is just automatically completed for you. The Mission Mulligan will cost you 25 ZeeCred. You can utilize this feature in the online ZeeOps Dashboard, but not in-app.

BRIEFCASE MUNZEE

The Briefcase Munzee is the first ZeeOps-specific munzee in a line of Zeecret Weapons. Similar to Clan Weapons, these physical credit items can only be earned by completing ZeeOps Operations.

When captured, the Briefcase Munzee will “spill” three “dossiers” onto greenies within a mile for 2 hours. When capped, there will be a 90% chance of a player earning 30 points. The other 10% chance will be 15 points and a Mini ZeeOp* to complete within two hours. If the player completes the Mini ZeeOp they will earn 100 points. There are a variety of Mini ZeeOps so you could get a different Operation each time!

Physical MunzPak Changes Coming in March

Howdy! Here at MHQ, we are always looking for ways to improve the services and products we provide. Over the past few months, we’ve been tweaking and refining our MunzPak program. In that spirit, we will be making another change during March. The March Physical MunzPak will not launch at the beginning of the month as it has in the past. While we can’t give you full details right now, we can tell you the following:

All current Physical MunzPak subscriptions will end March 1st at 00:01 MHQ time.
Virtual MunzPak subscriptions WILL continue as they are for now.
When we are ready to relaunch Physical MunzPak, all former subscribers will receive an email with information regarding how to subscribe, and we will post full information here on the blog.

This IS NOT the end of Physical MunzPaks. Keep an eye out in March for information about the new and improved MunzPak! Thank you for your support, and Munzee on!
