Join us in Munzee, IN!

Munzee’s 6th Birthday celebration in Muncie, IN is still a couple of weeks away, but we wanted to update you all on some of the happenings as well as showcase some of the awesome badges you can earn over the weekend. Remember that Muncie is officially becoming Munzee, IN so prepare to show the city how we have fun! Our lasagna loving feline friend Garfield will be making appearances too, so you won’t want to miss out.

Part I

To kick off the weekend we want you to join Munzee-Man at the Hall Of Justice… err… Canan Commons! Matt and Rob will be front and center to hang out at the recreation area. Canan Commons includes a stage for performances, open space for gathering and informal recreation, as well as plenty of dining options. What better way to prepare for a weekend of heroic fun? Earn this awesome badge and cap the event indicator pin.

Part II

Leaping Lake Lads! Join Matt and Rob at McColloch Park at 10am for a trail, badge and the launch of the Garfield Virtuals! Spend the afternoon following the Garfield trail around the city and the county and cap virtuals at each statue location. These virtual icons are ONLY available in Muncie and Grant County so get them while you can! You can also join the Eventzee Garfield Statue Scavenger Hunt to take photos with our favorite fat cat.

Part III

Yee-haw! What would a weekend with Flat Matt be without a night of unicorn wrangling at the Delaware State Fair Rodeo? Submit Your Pictures for Our Spectacular 6th Birthday Gallery!

Last year, we asked you to share your pictures from birthday events and Munzee outings during Birthday Month. We had a great response and put together a gallery showing off the events and players that make this game and community amazing. This year, we want to make an even better one!

If you have a picture (or pictures) that you would like added to our Spectacular 6th Birthday Photo Gallery, send an email to iloveyou@munzee.com with the subject “6th Birthday Gallery”. Please include the following:

  • The high quality photo(s)
  • Your username and real name
  • A description of the photo(s)

These pictures can be of events, scenic views from munzee locations, or fun things you find while searching for munzees during Birthday Month. We will publish the gallery and continue adding to it throughout the month.

Munzee Podcast- July 2017

We’ve brought back the podcast/videocast!

With a lot more space for fun activities in MHQ 3.0, we’ve set up an awesome podcast studio! We figured we should probably get around to using it though, so what better time than for some Birthday Month announcements? We had a few technical difficulties at the beginning (give us a break, it’s been a while since we’ve done this!) but the audio quality gets a lot better about 40 seconds in.

6th Birthday Events UPDATE

Hello from a swelteringly hot London!

I hope you’re all getting excited about July and all the 6th Birthday events. There are 80 on the calendar to choose from! It’s not too late to get your events on there, it’s quite late for artwork though, our designers’ diaries are full to bursting and we can only accommodate pretty simple requests for July at this stage I’m afraid.

Trish has recently finished the badges for attending and hosting, they are SUPER! Here is a sneak preview for you. There are 4 host badges up for grabs, the Super Scott, Super Matt, Super Trish and Super Dylan. I’m on the Attendee Badge and there is an icon featuring Super Rob for everyone who goes to a Birthday event and captures the Event Indicator Pin.

Don’t forget that Dan the Man will be giving freebies to all attendees when they capture the event badge if the host has opted for that $20 extra and there will be surprises thrown in for all Birthday events as per usual, don’t miss out, plan your event today!

Flat Rob is Headed to Geowoodstock!

Rob is on his way to Geowoodstock which means Flat Robs are now LIVE on the map! The original flat fella will be on the map from now through Monday at 23:59 MHQ so enjoy the long weekend with Flat Rob. If you’re headed to Geowoodstock be sure to say hey to Rob for us. He’ll be roaming around all weekend, but you should be able to find him near the Space Coast Geostore booth from time to time.

Don’t forget that Flat Rob’s newest friend Flat Matt will be joining him very soon! Flat Matts will go on sale June 1st at 12:00 MHQ in the Munzee online store. To celebrate our sports loving flat friend we’re meeting at the Frisco Roughriders baseball game that night and we want you to join us! Be sure to RSVP on the calendar HERE.

Open House Gallery!

Our MH-New Open House was a huge hit! It was great to hang out with some of our players and show off our new office space. Flat Matt made his first appearance, we hosted a not-so-brief Facebook Live videocast and much more! We even had a few surprise guests show up, including our friends from the National Breast Cancer Foundation Donation!

Thank you to everyone that joined us in person as well as those who deployed in the area for all of us to enjoy.

Matt’s Been Flattened!

In November 2015 Flat Rob was released and he’s been traveling the world ever since. All that travel can be a bit lonely though, so we’re excited to announce that he now has a similarly two-dimensional friend- Flat Matt!

After three years with Team Munzee we’ve finally put enough pressure on Matt McCann to flatten him! The first Flat Matt has been released as a permanent MHQ special at our Open House today and they’ll go on sale for the public on June 1st. Flat Matts work much like Flat Robs, but there are some differences.

Flat Robs may be activated when Rob is traveling, but Flat Matts are activated based on specific sporting event schedules. Exactly what schedules? Well we can’t spill all of Flat Matt’s secrets! Stay tuned for more gameplay details when Flat Matts go on sale next month.

To celebrate Flat Matt’s global release MHQ is hosting a Munzee Event at the Frisco Roughriders baseball game Thursday June 1st and we’d love for you to join us! Be sure to RSVP on the Munzee Calendar. We’ll have more details about the event in a couple weeks so stay tuned for more info!

MHQ is MH-NEW!

Remember to RSVP to our MHNew Open House event this Friday on the Munzee Event Calendar. Those in attendance will get an awesome new badge for the Open House as well as a few new badges for visiting MHQ!

We’re also going to start a monthly Open House program as well! On the second Friday of each month we will have an Open House Munzee event from 2-5 PM. This will be a great time to check out the new offices, chat with MHQ staff and more. Keep an eye on the calendar for future dates as well!

We understand everyone can’t make it to Texas though, so be on the lookout for a new social media campaign soon! We’ll be interviewing team members about their new offices so you can get a first hand account of what our interior design skills look like.

Ahead of Friday’s Open House, we wanted to showcase a few MHQ team members hanging in our new offices. We’ve still got some space to fill, but we’ve been having a pretty good time breaking it in. We promise that in between wiffle ball games and scooter rides we actually do get stuff done!

We’re super excited to see new and old friends on Friday and thank you all for your well wishes with the move! Munzee on!

MHQ is moving offices!

We’re excited to announce that Munzee Headquarters is expanding in a big way! We have upgraded our offices to a much larger space which we will be debuting in grand fashion. The new spot is located at 1720 Bray Central Drive – McKinney, TX 75069, a few miles away from our previous offices.

We know everyone will be eager to deploy around our new office, but we have some big plans in store too! A deploy exclusion zone has been placed over the surrounding area, but this will be readjusted in the near future. There is a small physical exclusion zone around the property so we don’t bother the other tenants in the building.

As everyone knows moving can be a bit tiresome, so we are asking that anyone who wants to visit MHQ hold off until May 12th so we can get ourselves in order (exceptions for those who have already contacted us or have plans in place). Worry not though, because we’re doing it big with an open house!

Join Team Munzee in person for the grand opening of our new offices on May 12th from 2-5 PM MHQ. We will have snacks, prizes, a new MHQ grand opening badge, event indicator pin, and many more surprises!

Be sure to let us know you’ll be joining in the fun at https://calendar.munzee.com/NewMHQ/. We know not everyone can make it to TX though, so we will broadcast live on FB for anyone who can’t attend the ceremony!

Tea Party Mad Hat Competition Winners

One part of this year’s Tea Party events is the Mad Hat Competitions.This past weekend marked the beginning of the Tea Parties, and we’ve started receiving the pictures of the winners. We’ll be updating the gallery below as we get more winners throughout the month. Make sure to show up with your best Mad Hat! If you haven’t planned to attend a Tea Party event yet, check out the Events Calendar to find to one near you!

If you’re an event host, make sure you get your Mad Hat Competition winner’s picture emailed to Louise so that we can add it!
