Agents, We’re Recognizing Your Service With A New Badge Line!

In August, we announced that we’d be making some tweaks to the ZeeOps program and that there would be no ZeeOps in September. Whether there will be ZeeOps this month still remains to be seen — however, in the spirit of this year’s bash theme (at least 1/7th of the theme anyways), we wanted to reward our dedicated ZeeOps agents for all the hard work they’ve done so far!

This new line of badges is for overall captures of Zeecret Weapon Munzees! There are 6 capture badges to earn with art depicting all the cool gadgets and gizmos you might use while you’re out in the field!

Captures of the following munzees will count toward these badges:

Briefcase
Dossier
Night Vision Goggles
Infrared

They are live as of 12:00 MHQ today. We won’t spoil all of the badges, but you can check out the first badge in the line below:

Spy Kit- Capture 25 Zeecret Weapons of any type.

As these badge lines are retroactive, you may have already met the requirements for some of them, and should see them on your account soon! If not, please wait a few days as our system catches up with awarding these new badges to everyone who has earned them, before contacting support.

It’s almost October! You’ll find all the latest details to our clan requirements and rewards in the clan section of our app.

It is possible that we could update clan requirements prior to October 3 and reserve the right to do so. The final requirements and rewards will always be shown in the app. All of this is up in the air based on how situations continue to change worldwide based on COVID-19.

October Badges

Your Clan can earn monthly badges to earn for reaching distinct levels of Clan Wars each month. You won’t be able to earn a badge until the entire clan has reached the specified level. Since there is NO Level X this month, there will be a total of 5 badges available in October. The first badge will appear as follows:

Novice Newbies: October 2020- Reached Level 1 in October 2020 Clan Wars

Overall Clan Notes:

Please keep in mind Levels 4 & 5 are considered advanced gameplay and not recommended for brand new players. Be aware when allowing new players to join your clans. QRew/ZeeQRew status will be required for any player earning levels 4&5. See qualifications here. QRewZees will be on the map October 3,6,9,12,15,18,21,24,27,30 — that’s all multiples of 3 during the month of October.

Bouncer captures include any POB, MOB, or TOB (even the temporary POB)

Zodiac cap/deploy includes any type of Western or Chinese Zodiac.
Total points include Cap, Deploy, and CapOn of all types.
Flat friends points include all Cap, Deploy, and CapOn for flat Rob, flat Matt, flat Lou, and flat Hammock. Fancy Flat Rob and Fancy Flat Matt are NOT included in flat friends points.
Elemental points include deploy, cap or capon points from any type of Elemental Munzee. (Includes Fire/Water/Ice/Electric scattered – not earth/Air scatters)

Social and Personal will not count for Deploy requirements.
Social and Universal will not count for total Capture requirements.
Personal and Universal will not count for Physical points of any sort.ok

Hints for how to play during Stay Home orders:
Use the swap feature for brand new virtual deploys.
Use the online map to deploy virtuals worldwide or find gardens to deploy in on social media groups.
Watch the online store for sales during the month to help meet your goals.
Use evolution reset credits to get new CapOn points from OLD deploys (they do NOT count as new deploys)

And finally, be responsible. If your local government, your health, or any circumstances require you to Stay Home – DO NOT participate. It is up to each of us to determine what is safe and what is allowed. This is a game and not worth risking your own live or the lives of others.

This Greeting Card Will Self-Destruct… In 7 Days That Is!

We couldn’t resist creating a game piece based on the iconic self-destructing message to go along with this year’s bash theme! Just don’t expect it to self-destruct in 10 seconds!

Nothing Will Escape Your Notice with These 20/20 Vision Munzees!

Now that it’s officially Fall around MHQ, are you getting enough fresh air? While the temperatures are probably more comfortable, there are less days off to enjoy. We hope you get to spend some time outside in your backyard or a nearby park to get your dose of Vitamin D!

If you have the good fortune to live near a forest, take a deep breath and get some extra oxygen for the rest of us! It would also be great to spot some real-world Camp Critters in the wild, which these lemony lenses are made for! They were deployed this afternoon at 15:00 MHQ. Maybe a road trip to some secluded woods is in order — after you get your car battery replaced, that is!

Only nine pairs of Hunting Glasses will be deployed, and they will bounce to all colors of virtuals every 12 hours or when captured. These will be attracted to Virtual Magnets so be sure to stock up!

Points:

Cap: 200 points
CapOn (Host): 100 points

Capturing the Hunting Glasses will add this natural Hunter’s Hindsight badge to your collection! It will also contribute progress towards the overall capture line of badges — the post is HERE if you missed it!

Similar to July’s Summer Shades, these Hunting Glasses have a distinct lens color that isn’t just for show. According to biggamelogic.com, yellow lenses “block haze and blue light since they are on the opposite end of the color spectrum,” increasing contrast and making it easier to spot other creatures in your surroundings. Definitely useful if you want to spot other humans as well, to ensure that you are socially distanced! If you read on, you’ll notice that the Summer Shades would also make great Hunting Glasses depending on your prey — it makes sense, since we learned that the polarized lenses are the eyewear of choice for fishermen!

You’ll be able to capture the 20/20 Vision specials on other players’ munzees as well as your own for the remainder of the year! As a reminder, all 20/20 Vision specials will leave the map on 12/31/2020 at 23:59 MHQ. More unique 20/20 Vision specials will launch throughout the year so keep on the lookout — you won’t want to miss out on these trendy lenses!

NEW Earth Mystery Tree Scatters

In March we introduced new scatters for the Earth Mystery, changing from Boulders to Trees. Trees are extra-special since they also release their own scatters once they are capped. It’s scatterception! We promised to introduce more scatters from Trees, so here they are, to give you some alternatives to pumpkin spice!

Like the Peaches and Pears, Pecans and Acorns are both worth 25 points for Capture. To clarify — Peaches and Pears will remain as possible scatters for Trees, so you have a chance for any of the 4 types. This means that Apple and Cherry Blossom scatters are no longer available, but there’s a good chance you’ll see them again in the future!

We’ve also added two new badges: one based on Pecan captures and the other based on Acorn captures. We’re not going to reveal what these badges are, so you’ll need to snag some of these nutty scatters to see for yourself! You’ll still be able to earn badges for Peach and Pear captures as well, so be sure to grab as many as you can before the next round of scatters goes live.

Whether the leaves are changes into Fall or you’re defrosting into Spring, we hope the next season is a fruitful one for you!

These 20/20 Vision Munzees Are a Reminder of Our Hope for a Kinder World

Happy International Day of Peace!

World peace may seem like a cliché thing to wish for — it is on the lips of practically every beauty pageant contestant and equally at home on the page of many a luminary’s interview. But in today’s world, a world in which we have not only a global pandemic to contend with, but violent conflicts, we can’t deny that the world would be a much better place if we had it. To that end, we wanted to highlight this important day with these statement shades, which were deployed this afternoon at 15:00 MHQ. What are some simple steps we can take towards world peace?

Only nine Peace Glasses will be deployed, and they will bounce to Greenies every 12 hours or when captured. These will be attracted to Physical Magnets though so be sure to stock up!

Cap: 200 points
CapOn (Host): 100 points

Capturing the Peace Glasses will add this groovy Peaceful Peepers badge to your collection! Also, as of July we’ve released the details on the overall capture line — the post is HERE if you missed it!

Today we celebrate the International Day of Peace, which was established in 1981 by the United Nations General Assembly. This year’s theme is “Shaping Peace Together.” To survive this time of hardship, we should work together instead of letting fear divide us. In the UN’s words:

Celebrate the day by spreading compassion, kindness and hope in the face of the pandemic. Stand together with the UN against attempts to use the virus to promote discrimination or hatred. Join us so that we can shape peace together.

We know our player community is full of people who follow the above guidelines as written by the UN every day, not just on the International Day of Peace, but we hope the officiality of the day only strengthens your resolve!

Surprise! A NEW Game Piece for A NEW Kind of Bash!

We may have had to cancel our annual MHQ Bash in Texas this year, but we’re still celebrating the only way we know how: BIG! We wanted to create something special to celebrate a worldwide virtual gathering in a new way, so we’re excited to announce the release of the Universal Munzee!

Like a combination between Social and Personal Munzees, the Universal will allow you to interact with your fellow players like never before. You can find out more about the product below, but first a little background!

Personable Personals

We LOVE events, AND WE LOVE Personal Tags! The two seem to go hand in hand. Personals come in so many colorful designs to collect, and it gives players something to talk about: you can learn a lot about your fellow players by the tags they’ve collected. We even have a special badge line highlighting this phenomenon!

That aspect to the game is definitely something we miss this year, and while players have used their creativity to host events that allow their attendees to still have fun while keeping a safe distance from each other, Personal Tags, unfortunately, do require you to be in close proximity of wherever they’re deployed. Enter the Universal Munzee!

Universally United

Featuring the logo for this year’s theme, “Bash from the Past!“, it has the best of both Social and Personal Munzee functionality as other players can capture it from anywhere in the world AND activity on it will earn you points. However, as this makes it incredibly valuable, we are limiting it to 1 per player. You can find this limited edition Universal HERE!

This Bash Universal is a limited release item only available through October 1 at 10:00 MHQ.

A Universal has the same point structure as a regular Personal:

Capture: mystery random points 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45
CapOn: sum of 50 between player capture and residual
- Example: player capture = 30, owner residual = 20. Total = 50
Deploy: 100 points (only deploy it once with no proximity or expiration!)

To share your Universal Munzee QR code for others to capture, go to the Social Munzees list in your in-app profile and slide the entry to the left to reveal the [Show QR Code] button. You can take a screenshot of the code on your device, then send to others! Or you can always access and download the QR code from the website as well.

Bash From The Past!

We’ll have more information regarding this year’s celebration next week, but prepare for a trot down memory lane! MHQ Bash has become a staple over the last 6 years, so we thought what better way to celebrate 2020 than by looking back at years that were maybe a bit more stable!

The Universal is just the first announcement in regards to our Bash From The Past. Please indicate your intentions to participate in our global Bash on the Event Calendar. More information will be shared Monday about our plans for this annual celebration that we’re taking global this year!

Just in time for Munzee Mania, a NEW Iconic Location Has Arrived!

If you’ll be attending Munzee Mania, we hope you take the opportunity to capture these freshly-deployed pins! Like our New Hampshire and New Mexico Iconic Locations, this new munzee will join the ranks of our Tourism Munzees! You can now locate the Minnesota Iconic Location Munzees by turning on your Tourism filter!

Minnesota Iconic Location

This new Iconic Location will join the map today at 10:00 MHQ time to offer more opportunity for exploration! All Iconic Location Munzees are deployed by an MHQ account based on a database of historical markers in order to encourage players to get out and about and navigate new terrains. The points for this virtual munzee will be as follows:

Capture Points: 18-58
Deploy Points: 0
CapOn Points: 0 (Because it’s an MHQ account)

Like the other Iconic and Historical Location Munzees, the Minnesota Iconic Locations will not be blastable. Additionally, captures will count towards the overall Tourism line of badges. Tourism badges are linked primarily to the Historic and Iconic Munzees from different countries around the world, as well as states in the U.S.

These latest Iconic Locations couldn’t have been made possible without the help of players! Thanks to the players loeschfamily and Ubbs for helping us gather a database of historical markers in order to make this launch possible!

Stay Sharp with Safiir!

Did you figure out the answer to yesterday’s teaser? The answer is Sapphires! The third generation of the Pokémon games includes a Sapphire version; the famous engagement ring Napoleon gifted to his wife Josephine features a pear-shaped sapphire; and in-counter barcode scanners, like those you commonly find at the grocery store, have panels made of sapphire to make them scratch-resistant. Like the past stones, this startlingly blue beauty was borrowed from our sister app WallaBee! Joining the other Funfinity Stones, please welcome the Safiir!

These Player Owned Bouncers (POB) resemble the Jewel Munzees, which they also bounce to! The Safiir is available NOW in the Freeze Tag Online Store. Be sure to shop fast, because these Funfinity Stones will leave the store at 15:00 MHQ on Wednesday, September 16! Like the other Funfinity Stones, players can purchase a Safiir for $10. No upgrade ability is available. Topaas and Oniks will also be available during this time. You can shop the whole collection HERE!

Safiir Details

Safiir joins the current line of Pouch Creatures as a virtual munzee that will bounce to all Virtual Colors, Air Mystery, Sapphire, and Skyland Munzees every 6 hours or when capped.

It will have the same point values as the other Funfinity Stones:

Deploy: 250
Capture: 200 Points
CapOn: 250 Points
CapOn (Host Owner): 200 points

Safiir will be available for multi-capture. That means players can capture Safiir on their own munzees, any previously captured munzees, and more than once if the same Safiir visits you. It will be attracted to Virtual Magnets on all 4 of its landing pads. You can access Safiir under the “Only Expiring Specials” and “Only Pouch Creatures” filters.

Additionally, any Safiir captures will help you progress in both the Unique Funfinity Stone Capture badge line and the Pouch Creature Capture badge line. As a reminder, you can see the first of each of these badge lines below:
