How the Festive AniMailbox Works

Starting Friday, December 1 at 00:01 MHQ, each day you cap your Festive AniMailbox you will be awarded a different animal themed holiday Greeting Card capture, similar to the other mailboxes. Please note that you’ll only be able to earn that specific card on that day, so you really don’t want to miss a day. The Festive AniMailbox is available for $25 and includes the following:

  • 1 Festive AniMailbox Munzee to deploy and move around anywhere at anytime!
  • 1 Daily Capture of the mailbox each MHQ day starting on November 17th or when first deployed, which should help with keeping up your streaks!
  • 31 Mailbox Prize Days starting on December 1st and ending on December 31st, which will deliver the goodies below when captured, including Cards, Zeds, Munzees to deploy and more!
  • 31 Themed Greeting Cards to both CAPTURE and DEPLOY!
  • 1 PTR Cotton-Mail Mech deployed when capturing the mailbox on December 1st.

PTR Cotton-Mail Mech

Like the other Munzee Mechz, the PTR Cotton-Mail Mech is a temporary POB. The PTR Cotton-Mail will remain on the map until it has been captured 10 times, as you can see below. You will receive a fully-built PTR Cotton-Mail Mech that will auto-deploy on your account when the mailbox is captured on December 1st. You will also receive the Blueprint to rebuild it when you have earned enough Cogs in the future. It will cost 18 Cogs to rebuild this mech.

You can find this hopping aniMail carrier at the landing pads above every 6 hours or when captured.

PTR Cotton-Mail will be available for multi-capture. That means players can capture a PTR Cotton-Mail on their own munzees, any previously captured munzees, and more than once if the same PTR Cotton-Mail visits you. PTR Cotton-Mail  is non-blastable. It will be attracted to both Physical Magnets and Virtual Magnets. You can access it by turning on your “All Expiring Specials” filter.

When a PTR Cotton-Mail is captured, it will scatter up to 2 CAREot Packages.

These scatters will be visible to any player and will be deployed on the Mech owner’s account. This means that unlike Air Mystery Feathers/Boulders, there are CapOn points for the owner! They expire after 120 minutes and have a capture radius of 300 feet. These scatters will NOT count for deploy streaks, ZeeOps, or clan activity since they are passive deploys.

Badges

There are a variety of badge lines associated with this Mailbox, so look forward to earning even more as the month progresses!

  • Festive AniMailbox deploy badge — deploying a Festive AniMailbox will earn you a special badge that you can see below.
  • Festive AniMailbox Card capture badges — capture at least 1 of each unique Festive AniMailbox card! We’ll keep what these look like a secret for now.
  • PTR Cotton-Mail badges — deploying a PTR Cotton-Mail Mech will earn you the corresponding Blueprint badge that you can also see below.
  • Scatter Event Badges- Be on the lookout for four different Scatter events from the AniMailbox which will in turn award some wild badges as well!

Munzee Events in 2024!

It’s almost 2024, where has the year gone?!?

We’re so excited to look back on events over the past few years. We’ve seen players gathering together monthly for local events and building communities that enjoy playing Munzee together. Players around the world deploy at events, big and small, to make every event unique and special.

No More Monthly Events

In 2024, we’re going to move away from the monthly events system we’ve used the past two years. The goal was to increase event attendance and the number of events. We feel successful in what we’ve accomplished in this area. We’d like to focus on making events more special and have them feel less like a “requirement” just to earn a badge or gift for the hosts. We understand the pressure some felt to keep hosting events month after month, sometimes with very little help.

In 2024, we will have several special event packages throughout the year, like our current Christmas event package. The first special package will be for the month of February. We encourage players to gather as often as you like, while we return to this system of events from years ago. We will offer the ability for hosts to add custom badges and icons to any events if they like. Our hope with this change is to bring players together for special occasions as often as you like. We will continue to have double point weekends each month, so don’t worry about that!

Upcoming Event Credits!

In 2024, we’re also going to introduce a new reward credit to the event ecosystem. By attending events and capping Event Munzees you’ll be able to earn special credits to use a special section of our Redeem Store! There will be some unique rewards and also current rewards at reduced rates. We hope this will encourage all to attend events, and provide value beyond just the points you receive on that day. The best part of events is often the time spent with other players, but extra rewards certainly won’t hurt!

Updates to Mega Events

In terms of Mega events, we’re going to tweak how this is handled as well. No one will “apply” for mega event status. It will be earned through attendance, then credited by our team after the events have ended. There will be a special new badge for Mega events that have 50 attendees. Will we see events return to more than 100 players in 2024? If so, will there be a special badge for that? Only time will tell, so who will organize the first event that “goes Mega” in 2024?

We know there are some traditional yearly events that have more than 50 attendees and expect they will continue, so we are very excited to offer this NEW badge to celebrate their hard work. We will keep an eye on the calendar for how many have marked “will attend” and will promote these events for any who may want to earn these special new event badges.

We can already see on the calendar some of our annual events are ready to continue.

Secret ZeeOps- Operation: Killer Crops (November 2023)

An ALL NEW Secret ZeeOps, Operation: Killer Crops, is now available in the ZeeOps Hub for 1,500 Zeds. It will be available for purchase until Sunday, December 31st at 23:59 MHQ. If you’ve purchased a Secret ZeeOp, you will be able to complete it and collect rewards even after it is no longer available for purchase.

ZeeOps scientists have begun a new artificial farming initiative using Mech parts, and initial reports are very promising! This new mechanized agricultural approach could end world hunger, and our latest specimen- a pumpkin mech we’ve named JACK-E II- has shown astounding growth in a short amount of time. It currently consumes motor oil and cogs, but we’re investigating alternative fertilizing materials as well. We need you to run some tests in the name of science so we can help produce results. If you complete ALL the missions in Operation: Killer Crops, you’ll receive the snazzy badge below, along with the PumpC0RN Munzee (more info below!) and various other rewards listed in the app!

There are 3 levels. Level 1 has 5 missions, Level 2 has 5 missions, and Level 3 has 5 missions. Each level ends with more prizes.

PumpC0RN Details

The PumpC0RN is a special combination of Evolution and Munzee Mech. The evolution breakdown is as follows:

  • PumpC0RN to JACK-E II: after 3 caps (3 caps total)
  • JACK-E II to JACK-E-Lantern: after 5 caps (8 caps total)
  • JACK-E-Lantern to Auto-Archive: after 4 caps (12 caps total)
    • This mech can be rebuilt again at anytime using Cogs!

Scaring Is Caring With NEW PreZent Specials!

WHAT’S THIS?! You may have thought spooky season was over, but we have a few more nightmares before Christmas gets here! Remember scaring is caring though, so we’re excited to announce a new series of spooky PreZent Specials that will take us into the new year!  From NOW until Sunday, January 14th at 23:59 MHQ QReepy and Vile PreZents will be bouncing around the map, and you’ll be able to unbox a variety of different spooky goods.

First up we’re having a SCREAM light special on Halloween themed Terror Toys which can only be earned by capping the base PreZents! Sure it’s the season of giving, but these gifts were a scary good deal and they’ll be perfect donation items for Toys For Trolls. Don’t worry there will be plenty of other scary seasonal gifts throughout the next couple months so expect more wicked winter PreZents just in the St. Nick of time for Christmas! 

PreZent specials will be released in waves, but will end at a total of 1,500 QReepy PreZents and 1,500 Vile PreZents. They will bounce around every 3 hours or when capped.

These specials will be available for multi-capture. That means players can capture a PreZent on their own munzees, any previously captured munzees, and more than once if the same PreZent visits you. These munzees will not be blastable. They will be attracted to magnets, available from the Freeze Tag Online Store. You can access the PreZent specials under the “All Expiring Specials” and “All Limited Specials” filters.

When a PreZent is captured, it will reveal a creepily crafted gift inside! At launch each PreZent has the potential to award different items, and more items will appear as the months go on, so make sure to keep an eye out!

While we want to keep most of them a surprise right now, here’s a sneak peek at one of them:

Badges

There will be a total of 7 new badges to earn from capping PreZents:

  • The 1st line has 3 badges which are based on the total number of captures of PreZents. You can see the title and description of the first badge in this line below.
  • The 2nd line has 4 badges, and they are based on finding and collecting all the items in each PreZent set. We’ll keep these a secret for now, but be on the lookout for more haunted holiday fun!

Celebrate the changing seasons with EQUiN0X Duo Mechz!

Here in North America daylight savings time just hit and we had to Fall back, which means we only have a few more weeks left of Autumn! To celebrate the ever-changing zeesons we have an all new Duo Mech set inspired by the Fall and Spring Equinoxes! Much like our Y1N and Y4NG Mechz the all new SPR33NG and FR33 FALL Mechz can join forces to control the seasons around the world (for half the year anyways). Read on to learn more!

SPR33NG, FR33 FALL, and EQUiN0X Details

Like the other Munzee Mechz, the SPR33NG, FR33 FALL, and EQUiN0X are temporary POBs. The SPR33NG and FR33 FALL will remain on the map until they have been captured 5 times, while the EQUiN0X will remain on the map until it has been captured 3 times. Once the Mechz reach their capture limit they will be “sprung out,” “squashed,” or in “spring cleaning” mode respectively, which results in more points for the capper.

You have the option of purchasing the FR33 FALL in the Freeze Tag Store HERE and the SPR33NG in the In-App Store for 750 Zeds. They’ll be in the stores until the new Winter season rolls around 12:00 MHQ on Thursday, December 21st. Both will automatically deploy on your account upon purchase, and you’ll be able to rebuild them for 7 Cogs each. As for the EQUiN0X Mech, the only way to deploy it is by deploying both the SPR33NG and FR33 FALL Mechz within the same MHQ day. Once you’ve met this requirement, a new EQUiN0X Mech will be deployed on your account.

November 2023 Skin: Stag Hedge

As the month comes to a close, we wanted to make sure you were heading into September with your desired Hedges! The skin for completing your October capture streak (and the corresponding badge), which is the Hedgehog Garden Hedge shown below, will be awarded in early November. But, we couldn’t wait to share what’s in store for next month!

October Hedge Reminders

If you haven’t picked up a Hedge yet, they are available in the Freeze Tag Store for $3.

How to have a permanent Hedge on your account next year:

  • Own at least 8 Hedges by the end of the year
    • Each month, the price of a Hedge will decrease by $1.
    • However, players can only purchase 1 Hedge every 28 days.

Also, don’t forget that Reseller Garden Hedges have arrived!  These unique munzee types are only available for purchase from participating Munzee Resellers, so shop now!

What Hedge Skin can you look forward to earning in November? The Stag Garden Hedge! Like the other hedges, the Stag Garden Hedge is a temporary POB that will remain on the map as long as players with permanent Garden Hedges continue to use it.

  • Unique type deploy badges — you’ll need to earn each month’s skin by keeping your streak up!
  • Overall deploy badges — the more hedges you deploy, the merrier!
  • Unique type capture badges — capture at least 1 of each skinned hedge!
  • Overall capture badges — capture as many hedges as you can find!
