Bacon Day 2018 Specials and Evolution Munzee Point Increase!

Are you ready to celebrate six degrees of Bacon? We’re excited to announce that from 00:01 MHQ on August 28th until 23:59 MHQ on September 2nd all manner of pork product Specials will be bouncing around the map!

If you happened to be playing Munzee in 2013 you might remember our first Bacon Day special, but this time around we’re switching things up a bit. For instance, did you know that Bacon is different in other parts of the globe? In order to appeal to bacon lovers across the world we will have two physical specials:

888 “American-style” Bacon Specials will bounce* on Greenies every 6 hours or when captured. These sizzling specials will be attracted to physical Munzee Magnets and you’ll earn 45 points for Capture and 45 points for CapOn.

999 “International-style” Bacon Specials will bounce* on Greenies and Premium Munzees every 6 hours or when captured. These slightly different slices of bacon will be attracted to physical Munzee Magnets on Greenies and you’ll earn 40 points for Capture and 40 points for CapOn.

*Please note that both American and International Bacon Specials will bounce worldwide and will not be limited to specific regions. 

In additions to the precious pork products there will also be 777 Flying Pig Virtual Specials floating to MVMs every 6 hours or when captured. These soaring swine specials will be attracted to Virtual Munzee Magnets and you’ll earn 50 points for Capture and 50 points for CapOn.

Per usual there are a variety of badges you can earn for capturing Bacon Day Specials and these will also count toward the Specials Badges. There are a total of six badges you can earn throughout the allotted Specials timeframe. We’ll show you the three for capping each of the different Special types, but you’ll have to discover the the other three yourselves!

We also have some new sets of porky Personal Tags available in the Freeze Tag Online Store. Per usual these are in limited quantity so get yours before they run out!

Please note that these Bacon Day Specials are different than the Pig Evolution Munzee line from the Farm Set, which also includes a Bacon level. We’re celebrating all forms of Bacon though, so we’re excited to announce that we’re updating the points on ALL Evolution Munzees as well! The point increase will go live at the same time the specials do and is for all Physical and Virtual Evos except the Golden Carrot, which was already increased earlier this month.

The new points will be as follows:

Level 1: 
Deploy: 20
Cap: 20
CapOn: 10

Level 2:
Deploy: N/A
Cap:  35
CapOn: 20

Level 3:
Deploy: N/A
Cap: 50
CapOn: 30

That’s not all though! In connection to the point increase we will also reset ALL Evolution Munzees back to Level One.  Please note that this will not allow other players to re-cap these munzees again, but the earlier stages will be available to players who have not capped that particular stage. The reset will go live with the point increase at 00:01 MHQ on August 28th as well.

So if you’ve stockpiled Evos, now is the time to get those deployed! Sticking to the theme we’d suggest capping and deploying a handful of Farm Set Evos if you have them. To help out we’ve also put together some Evo Packs which are available in the Freeze Tag Online Store.

World Photo Day Contest Winners!

World Photo Day 2018 has come and gone, but we still have some winners to announce! Announcing World Photo Day Specials!

Say cheese!

We’re excited to announce new Camera Specials in celebration of World Photo Day on Sunday August 19! The Specials will be on the map starting August 17 at 00:01 MHQ and will last until August 20 at 23:59 MHQ.

2,009 Camera Specials will bounce on Greenies and Premium Munzees every 6 hours or when captured. The Camera Specials will also be attracted to Magnets on greenies. Players will be able to capture these on their own Greenies and Premium Munzees as well.

Points:  

  • Capture: 100
  • CapOn: 20 on Greenie
  • CapOn: 70 on Premium

Per usual there will be a badge for capping one of the specials, but you never know what other badges you could earn. Since these are CAMERA specials there will also be another special badge you can earn by uploading pictures to munzees throughout the weekend. Remember that placing pictures on munzees is a Premium feature, so this badge will only be able to be earned if you have a Premium Membership.

You can purchase a Premium Membership and Magnets in the Freeze Tag Online Store. We also have a limited number of World Photo Day Personal Tags in the store as well.

What would World Photo Day be without photos though? We want to see your best Munzee photos throughout the weekend on social media. Upload photos you take when playing Munzee using #WorldPhotoDay and #MunzeeOn to be eligible. One winners will be chosen from each of our three social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) and awarded those prizes by the end of next week. We will also have prizes for three photos placed on munzees in the app through the weekend. These winners will also be chosen by the end of next week.

LegaZeeOps- Operation: Evolution

Agents, ZeeOps HQ’s system has been hacked and all of our files on past missions have been erased! You’ll have to recreate past Operations in what we’re calling LegaZeeOps. It’s up to you to keep the legacy of this organization in tact. By completing any Operation this month you’ll earn the “Operation: Evolution” badge, which was previously available in January 2018’s Operations.

Agents, despite Director Zee’s protests, ZeeOps scientists have continued experimenting on Evolution Munzees. The Director doesn’t want anymore surprises, so he has assigned ZeeOps Agents to handle the capture and release of both physical and virtual Evolution test subjects.

With the First Clan and The Rising Sons preparing for war, you’ll need to stay sharp. To keep up your skills, this month will also feature the Mystery Mastery Program. You’ll need to capture and deploy Mystery Munzees of all shapes and sizes to prove you have mastered the Mystery.

August 2018 ZeeOps Operations are now live and you can begin planning your Missions to start on the following day. You can plan your Operations at munzee.com/ops/ and purchase more ZeeCred in the Munzee Online Store. You can also track your Missions in the new Munzee app update.

By completing any Operation this month you’ll earn the “Operation: Evolution” badge.

This month’s Missions are as follows:

Shiver Me Timbers- It’s The Siren AlternaMyth!

The water may be good for beating the heat, but things are starting to get a little icy. Beware the screeching of the Siren AlternaMyth Munzee!

As with the other AlternaMyths these Mythological Munzees are deployed on behalf of our HQ staff’s accounts, thus super rare. The Siren AlternaMyths will be deployed at 15:00 MHQ on 7/25.

As the AlternaMyth to the Mermaid Mythological Munzee the Siren is a sea-dwelling creature, but also one that is cold-blooded!  Sirens are attracted to greenies, Water Mystery Munzees and Ice Mystery Munzees.

We’re excited to announce that with the release of the Siren all other AlternaMyths will now be worth 500 capture points. This point change will also occur at 15:00 MHQ on 7/25.

The Siren can be a bit slippery, but you might be able to catch one with a Munzee Magnet! You can find Magnets, Elemental Munzees and more in the online store! 

Capturing a Siren will also count towards the Myth Collector badges so be sure to keep your eyes peeled for those ferocious fighters.

Speaking of badges, new achievements for capturing regular Mermaid Mythological Munzees will be available at 15:00 MHQ on 7/25. These badges work like other myth badges and they will be retroactive.

Good luck on your journey and remember to be careful in the water- the seas are a dangerous place, full of unknown creatures!

ZeeOps: July 2018 Missions

The final moves are about to be played. The war between the First Clan and The Rising Sons has come to a head and the safety of the world hangs in the balance. To make matter worse The Zodiac Vigilante and his hoard of Evolution Munzees are fighting back. The Vigilante has joined forces with the R.U.M. and the Mean Green Gang, whose aggressive tactics are a danger to civilians.

The final chapter of this ongoing war is upon us and it’s up to ZeeOps Agents worldwide to join together!

July 2018 ZeeOps Operations are now live and you can begin planning your Missions to start on the following day. You can plan your Operations at munzee.com/ops/ and purchase more ZeeCred in the Freeze Tag Online Store. Remember that if you hit a snag at any point in your Operation you can use the new Mission Mulligan feature to keep going!

This month features a lot of different Munzee types so be sure to stock up in the online store.

By completing any Operation this month you’ll earn the “Operation: The End?” badge.

Go Under The Sea With The Mermaid Mythological Munzee!

SURPRISE! The Vesi did a great job of helping us beat the sweltering summer heat, but we need just a little more aquatic assistance from our finned friend the Mermaid Mythological Munzee!

Unlike previous Myth releases, things work a little bit different with this maiden of the sea. A very limited number of Mermaids are available NOW in the Freeze Tag Online Store. We mean VERY limited, so you might want to go buy one before reading the rest of this blog…

Well good thing we’ll be releasing more throughout the day! Check out the store at 10:00, 15:00 and 17:00 MHQ for additional waves of Mermaids to be released. Mermaid Mythological Munzees are $25.00 each and each player is limited to one (1) Mermaid Munzee per account. The sale is open to anyone regardless of other Mythological ownership.

So you might be wondering- why the price increase? Well Mermaids have certain powers that other Myths (currently) don’t, making them much more valuable.

As the owner of a Mermaid Munzee you’ll have the ability to “nudge” the creature to a new munzee up to three times a day (MHQ 24 hour day). So say your Mermaid decides to swim to a munzee lost in the Bermuda Triangle? Just give her a nudge and she’ll bounce somewhere else in the world. The ability to nudge is only available for the owner via the webpage for the Mermaid, not available in app. The owner can “nudge” the Mermaid to have it bounce to another munzee ONLY in the first 6 hours at it’s current location.

The Mermaid also has a lot more character than your average Myth, so you’ll be able to rename your Mermaids to whatever you want! The name will still retain the unique number, but feel free to get creative and customize these gilled gals. Please keep in mind our player code of conduct and family friendly environment! 🙂

Like the Hydra, Mermaids are attracted to Greenies and Water Mystery Munzees, as well as physical Jewel Munzees.

The Mermaid will bounce on the following every 12 hours or when capped:

  • Greenies
  • Water Mystery Munzee
  • Diamond
  • Ruby
  • Pink Diamond
  • Topaz
  • Aquamarine

Mermaid Munzees will also be attracted to Magnets, which you can attach to Greenies to increase your odds of finding myths and specials.

Much like the release of Vesi, the Mermaid Munzee signals an increase for all other physical Mythological Munzee points. The Unicorn, Leprechaun, Yeti, Dragon, Faun, Hydra and Cyclops will all be worth 200 points when you cap them! Please note that these point changes are not retroactive, but the new points are currently in effect.

You’ll notice we are not updating the Pegasus (which lands on virtuals) at this time. This is a push to drive more points through the physical game. The Cyclops will also only be worth 200 points if capped on a physical.

Name: The Mermaid

Description: The Mermaid Munzee bounces on Greenies, Water Mystery Munzees, and all physical Jewel Munzees every 12 hours or when capped. Each is numbered and owned by a Munzee player. Only 1 Mermaid Munzee is allowed per account. You will also earn the Mermaid badge for owning a Mermaid Munzee.

  • CapOn: 100

There is not currently a traditional line of badges for capturing unique Mermaid Munzees, but these will count toward the Myth Hunter badge line. Stay tuned for a line of badges similar to the other Myth Ranker badges soon.

International Yoga Day Specials!

Are you ready to reach ultimate Zenlightenment? We are pleased to announce new Specials in connection with International Yoga Day on June 21st!

Now although we may not be your run of the mill yogis, and “Zenlightenment” is totally a made up word, Munzee is proud to promote health initiatives that better your mind, body and spirit. So starting at 00:01 MHQ on Wednesday June 20th 1,728 yoga pose icons will be on the map until Sunday June 24th at 23:59 MHQ.

There are four different Yoga Pose specials that will be on the map. 432 of each type will bounce on greenies every 6 hours or when captured.

Points: 

  • Capture: 108
  • CapOn: 18

All four Yoga Pose specials will only land on greenies and will be attracted by Munzee Magnets. Each unique icon will count toward the Specials Hunters badge line as well. You can earn a badge for capturing one Yoga Pose special of any kind, but to reach true Zenlightenment you’ll have to capture at least one of each type.

Since you’ll be exercising your body by going out and capturing these specials, we also want to see you all take a moment to work on your mind and spirit.

Upload photos to social media practicing a yoga pose of any type for a chance to win Munzee Prizes! Simply take a photo performing the pose, then add the name of your pose, tag @Munzee and use #MunzeeMeditations and #YogaDay2018 to be eligible.

We’ll draw several names from each of our active social pages: Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Winners will be drawn and announced next week!

June 2018 Missions and Night Vision Goggles Munzee

In an attempt to prepare for the oncoming war between the First Clan and The Rising Sons, ZeeOps scientists are researching the battle patterns of the Zodiac Vigilante. Utilizing Neurological Memory Technology we need you to relive your previous battles with the enemy.

It appears that while testing the Neurological Memory Technology to recreate past battles, someone has hacked the system. This must be the work of the Zodiac Vigilante, but be careful though, whoever is controlling this could recreate other past missions as well…

NIGHT VISION GOGGLES MUNZEE

We’re also excited to announce a new reward exclusive to ZeeOps!

The Night Vision Goggles Munzee is a virtual Zeecret Weapon. Similar to Clan Weapons, this item can only be earned by completing ZeeOps Operations.

When captured the Night Vision Goggles Munzee  will “reveal” 3 new Infrared Virtual Munzees that will be deployed within 700 feet of the Goggles. You have to be within 100 ft to capture an Infrared Virtual and these Infrareds can only be seen by the person who capped the Goggles. Infrareds will disappear after two hours.

ZeeOps: May 2018 Missions

Since the last issue with the Evo Munzees, Director Zee has ordered a halt on all further development. Unfortunately during the Zodiac Vigilante’s Evo antics earlier this year, the shape shifting creatures are still roaming the world. We must continue our efforts to monitor and capture Evos.

The Zodiac Vigilante has revealed that the First Clan and The Rising Sons are collecting Evos for their own nefarious schemes. Although the masked man has been holding them off on his own, he has turned to ZeeOps HQ for aid. Be weary though, his allegiances are his own, which is both good and bad.

May 2018 ZeeOps Operations are now live and you can begin planning your Missions to start on the following day. You can plan your Operations at munzee.com/ops/ and purchase more ZeeCred in the Freeze Tag Online Store. Remember that if you hit a snag at any point in your Operation you can use the new Mission Mulligan feature to keep going!

Since this month is focused on Evolution Munzees be sure to stock up Physical and Virtual Evo Paks in the online store.

By completing any Operation this month you’ll earn the “Operation: rEvolution” badge.

This month’s Missions are as follows:

LEVEL 1:

Basic Training + – Earn at least 1,000 points.
Defensive Training– Deploy at least 10 munzees.
Offensive Training– Capture at least 25 munzees.
Evolution Effectiveness I– Capture at least 10 Evolution Munzees of any type.
Evolution Effectiveness II- Deploy at least 5 Evolution Munzees of any type.

LEVEL 2:

Group Training + – Earn at least 1,000 cap-on points.
Virtual Surreality– Capture at least 100 virtual munzees of any type.
Scientific Signs– Capture at least 15 Evolution Munzees of any type.
Mutated Memos – Deploy at least 10 Evolution Munzees of any type
A Meeting Of The Minds– Capture at least 10 and deploy at least 5 Zodiac Munzees

LEVEL 3:

Advanced Training– Earn at least 10,000 points.
Always Aware– Deploy at least 50 physical munzees of any type.
Mutated Market– Capture at least 5 different Evolution Munzees of any type (different stages of the same Evolution do not count)
Decoy Deploys– Deploy at least 15 Evolution Munzees of any type.
Green Genomes– Capture at least 20 and deploy at least 10 Greenies.

LEVEL 4: 

Expert Training– Earn at least 50,000 points.
Green Games – Capture at least 50 Greenies.
Team Toxicity– Capture at least 10 different Evolution Munzees of any type (different stages of the same Evolution do not count)
Helix Hierarchy – Deploy at least 15 and capture at least 10 Evolution Munzees of any type.
Ribonucleic Research – Capture at least 250 physical munzees of any type

Completing Operations will give you some hard earned rewards as well.
