Munzee’s birthday month is reaching its final stretch, which means it’s time for August to come around the bend. The good news is that we’re now only 2 months out from MHQ Bash 6 in September! July Flat Friends and QRewsdays Schedules!

We know that many players like to plan out their Munzee activity, so we decided to release the July Flat Friends and QRewsdays schedules early enough to give you ample time to plan your capping adventures!

July Flat Schedule

July is a special month for Munzee, as this year marks Munzee’s 8th birthday! While there will be eight weeks of birthday event celebrations, there will also be ample opportunity for Flat Friends captures. That’s because all four Flat Friends will be on the map ALL month long to celebrate the birth of everyone’s favorite real world scavenger hunt!!!

July QRewsday Schedule

If you’re ready to earn some extra points while cleaning up the map, we have just the schedule for you!

Our July QRewsday schedule is as follows:

It’s time to mark your calendars, because while a number of the May important dates are still in progress, we are bringing you the June dates to watch out for with ample time for preparation. Get ready to start planning your capping adventures with the June Flat Friends schedule and QRewsday schedule!

Remember that all Flat Friends will be on the map this weekend (May 24 at 00:01 MHQ time to May 27 at 23:59 MHQ time) in honor of GeoWoodstock, with DOUBLE points on all Flat Friends on May 25 (00:01 MHQ time to 23:59 MHQ time). But are you already looking forward to June points?!

GeoWoodstock Event Details Are Here!

Do you know what week it is?! It’s GeoWoodstock week! That means there will be plenty of capping fun to be held in Fort Worth this weekend at GeoWoodstock XVII. The largest geocaching event in North America takes place this Saturday, but we’ve got Munzee events from Friday, May 24 to Sunday, May 26! Don’t forget, our Flat Friends will all be on the map to offer plenty of points for those who can’t make it out (worth double points on the 25th)!

Munzee Event Details:

GeoWoodstock may be all about geocaching, but Munzee is all about coexisting! So in between GeoWoodstock happenings, we have a few events Munzee and geocaching players alike can enjoy! Remember if you purchased a CoExist package, you can pick it up at Friday’s event, or Saturday morning if you can’t make it on Friday. Check out the fun events we have in store for Munzee during GeoWoodstock weekend!

The Emerald Spur

As those who attended GeoWoodstock last year might (or might not!) remember, Rob promised everyone who scanned the event indicator pin a spot in an Emerald Garden for THIS year’s event in Fort Worth, TX! The Spur Emerald Garden has now gone live, but we still have some open spots! You can purchase a spot in this garden in the Freeze Tag Online Store for $10. You’re limited to one per player, but you can buy one every 24 hours if it hasn’t filled up! Take advantage of this now because GeoWoodstock attendees will be sure to cap it!

Flat Friends Reminder!

Remember that all Flat Friends will be on the map for the entirety of GeoWoodstock weekend! That means you can cap all four types of Flats from May 24 at 00:01 MHQ time until May 27 at 23:59 MHQ time. Plus Flat Matt decreed that on May 25 from 00:01 to 23:59 MHQ time, ALL Flat Friends will be worth DOUBLE points on ALL flat activity to celebrate real Matt’s recent five year Munzee anniversary. That means that no matter where you are in the world, you can enjoy the GeoWoodstock weekend celebrations with extra points!

Announcing May Important Information!

Today we have a number of important dates to add to your calendar for May in addition to our Flat Friends schedule! May is a fun month for the world of Munzee, with many additional events on the horizon!

May POTM Criteria

Many Munzee players have been enjoying our revamped Player of the Week program, Player of the Month! Now that May has officially arrived, we are happy to announce the POTM criteria for this month.

The May POTM criteria will award all “Myth Masters.” Anyone who has captured 500 or more uniques of a specific myth (i.e. 500 unique Unicorn Munzees, 500 unique Pegasus Munzees, etc.) will earn the POTM title! If you are only a few captures away, fear not, because you will have until May 28 at 23:59 MHQ time to complete your captures for the chance to earn POTM in May!

QRewsday Schedule

Two weeks ago we announced the creation of QRew, and since then, many players have been reaping the benefits of QRewzee points as they work to help clean up the map. The QRewzee Munzee replaced the former Recycle Munzee, offering 100 Capture points and 10 CapOn points. However, the new icons will only appear on designated QRewsdays. Be sure to mark the following dates so that you can reap the benefits (and badges!) our QRewzee Munzees have to offer! The May QRewsdays are as follows:

  • May 4-6
  • May 9-10
  • May 14-15
  • May 19, May 23, May 25
  • May 28-29

Remember, if you didn’t make QRew (or ZeeQRew) as of 00:01 this morning, you’ll have another chance this month at 00:01 MHQ time on May 15!

Munzee Mania

Flat Robs will be hitting the map this weekend, as real Rob will be out of office for Munzee Mania! This weekend long Minnesota event will see a whole host of Munzee players attending from Friday, May 3 to Sunday, May 5. The player hosted weekend in the Twin Cities will feature the following four events:

  1. Meet ‘n Greet on May 3 from 18:00 to 22:00 at Culinary on North Food Court
  2. Main Event on May 4 from 10:00 to 15:00 at Blackhawk Park
  3. Pizza Party on May 4 from 18:00 to 21:00 at Pizza Ranch
  4. Bagels & Coffee on May 5 from 9:30 to 10:30 at Bruegger’s Bagels

GeoWoodstock

This year’s annual celebration will take place in Fort Worth, making it a convenient trip for us folks at MHQ! Join Rob and the gang at GeoWoodstock XVII.   • Sunday (May 26): MunzStock Sunday from 13:00 to 15:00; take a quick tour of MHQ and stock up on some of our goodies!

New Generic Munzee Designs!

We’ve got a handful of new generic munzee designs that are NOW available in the Freeze Tag Online Store! These new designs are sure to take your deploy game to the next level. Whether you’re operating for speed, looking for better camouflage, or trying out some new hiding spots we’ve got you covered.

“Quick Deploy” Generics: $4.50

  • This block includes 25 stickers that are individually scored for “Quick Deploy.” Just peel, stick, and go on your way. These stickers measure .75″ x .75″.

Inverse Generics: $2.25

  • This strip of 10 stickers have an inverse color scheme from normal generics. A white foreground with a black background allow for more discrete placement on darker surfaces. These stickers measure 1″ x 1″.

ZeeQRew Store is now Live!

Since launching the ZeeQRew program, MHQ has been working to get a special store built for an elite group of players. This special store, as promised, will contain some unique products as well as deep discounts on generic stickers. We are excited to launch these products today with additional discounted prices on items for the month of October. If you aren’t already a member of ZeeQRew get out there this weekend and finish the requirements, the next checkpoint is October 15 at 00:01.

You will find your personal ZeeQRew code to use in the online store listed on your credits page.

This code is applied to specific products directly on the product page before allowing it to add to your shopping cart. Some products are limited in the number you are allowed to purchase. ZeeQRew code is intended for use on product for your specific account and is not allowed to be used for purchases for other accounts.

Announcing ZeeQRew: An Elite Munzee Player Program

Are you ready to join the ranks of the most elite group of Munzee players? We’re excited to introduce the all new ZeeQRew program! It’s up to this crew to help clean up the map and replace any missing munzees as they come across them.

ZeeQRew is a group of dedicated players who will earn, on a bi-monthly basis, a special title with special in game rights. They will also be rewarded for their work and for growing the map.

The requirements for joining ZeeQRew are as follows:

  • Must be a current Premium Member AND
  • have at least 100,000 lifetime points AND
  • have at least 250 physical deploys AND
  • have at least 500 physical captures AND
  • have at least 1 cap and 1 deploy in the last 14 days

Players’ statuses will automatically be checked at 00:01 on the 1st and 15th of each month. If the requirements are met the player will earn or retain the ZeeQRew title. If the requirements are not met the title will be removed from any current ZeeQRew, BUT it may be re-earned at the next checkpoint.

Rewards:

  • ZeeQRew title in app & online
  • The ability to replace any physical Munzee regardless of owner using a generic sticker*
  • Exclusive ZeeQRew badge (pictured below)
  • Access to special products only available to ZeeQRew
    • Unique merchandise
    • Discounted greenies (generic stickers)
    • Additional items and perks as decided by MHQ

The program will officially launch on Friday September 28th, the exclusive products will then launch in early October. When the program begins we ask that any player with concerns about ZeeQRew activity report any issues to support.

We’re excited to finally take the next steps in growing and maintaining the map. We know that members of ZeeQRew will prove to be an integral part of the game and we look forward to all sorts of new opportunities for them. For those that are not currently eligible for ZeeQRew we encourage you all to prove yourselves by accomplishing the requirements. This crew will only grow over time as our game grows!
