Weapons Weekend Means Worldwide Fun for All!

Who’s ready for some excitement?! We’re happy to announce that MHQ Bash Weekend will also kick off Weapons Weekend worldwide! If you find yourself wondering what is Weapons Weekend?!, we’re happy to share that it won’t disappoint. Weapons Weekend means double points on all Clan Weapon activity from Friday 9/27 at 00:01 MHQ time through Sunday 9/29 at 23:59 MHQ time! That means it’s a weekend of fun that all players can partake in, regardless of whether or not you’ll be joining us in North Texas!

Weapons Weekend

This month is all about MedZEEval Times, so be sure to stock up on as many Clan Weapons as you can before the big weekend! You can earn Clan Weapons by competing in Clan Wars, but for those who didn’t join a Clan in time for September Clan Wars, you can pick up a handful of Clan Weapon Munzees in each of our September MunzPaks! PLUS something special will be going on with all Unicorn and Dragon Mythological Munzee Variants during Bash weekend, so be sure to stay tuned! 

We want everybody around the world to showcase their warrior prowess, so expect some more announcements as the month goes on. Although we’ll have a handful of warriors with us in person at MHQ Bash, the rest of the world should prepare for battle, too! And, of course, even though our event packages are no longer for sale, you can RSVP on the event calendar anytime to join in on the fun in person!

And while all of this might be getting you excited, we do have one final bit of news to share…

Clan Wars Update!

The development team has been hard at work on a brand new update to the Munzee app that will take the Clan Wars experience to a whole new level! While we’re not revealing all of the fun details just yet, we will begin beta testing very soon. So if you’re part of the beta testing group, stay tuned for more info!

Zodiac Updates and NEW Munzee Credits!

Ready for some fun updates?! Today we’re happy to announce Western Zodiac point updates, as well as brand new Chinese Zodiac and Mystery Munzee credits!

Point Updates

As Clan Wars Battle #78 commenced on September 3 at 00:01 MHQ time, the point values for Western Zodiac Munzees all made a permanent change. Like the Chinese Zodiac Munzees, the Western Zodiacs are now all worth 20 points for Deploy, Capture, and CapOn. Their permanent point change is now as follows:

  • Capture: 20
  • Deploy: 20
  • CapOn: 20

Keep in mind that these values will double based on the Zodiac’s specified monthly timeframe. For example, it’s currently Virgo season (August 23- September 22), so all Virgo Western Zodiac Munzee’s will now be worth 40 points during this timeframe. For players focused on earning Zodiac points for Clan Wars, the remainder of the month will see double points action on Libra (September 23- October 22).

New Credits

In addition to the Western Zodiac point updates, the Chinese Zodiac and Mystery Munzees will now be available as credits for the first time! Since there are multiple “active” Chinese Zodiacs at any time, the credit will randomly convert to one of the active types when it is used. Remember that the Chinese Zodiac Munzees are worth double points based on the Zodiac’s specified day of the week. For the time being, these credits have been launched in the PinPoints store. Yesterday we gave players a heads up that PinPoints store items would be shifting, so you can now find these brand new credits available for PinPoints purchase! For a full selection of the current PinPoints store items, you can check out the PinPoints catalogue. Keep in mind that these products change on a rotating basis, so if you see something you like, don’t hesitate to use your points!

Whether or not you engage in Clan Wars, we hope these updates will add more fun to the game!

Lastly, as summer wraps up, we also want to take the time to hear from our players! Announcing August GOTM and POTM Winners!

The end of the month means it’s time for some well-deserved player recognition! We’re happy to announce the winners of our August Garden of the Month (GOTM) and Player of the Month (POTM) badges, as well as the criteria for September POTM, which just might include a special badge! ?

August GOTM Winners

First let’s recognize some outstanding Virtual Garden builders! As always, all winning GOTM organizers and all players who deployed in the winning gardens will be awarded special badges for their contribution to growing the map! So if you organized or deployed in the Sunflower Garden, organized by wemissmo, or the Pegasus Garden, organized by zsomborpeto, then congratulations on earning August GOTM badges!! Do you know a garden that is worthy of the September GOTM title? We’re asking for players to submit already created gardens for the chance to win any of our upcoming Garden(s) of the Month! Just be sure to follow the rules!

Rules for GOTM nominations:

  1. Garden must feature non-licensed character designs.
  2. The garden must feature a Garden Places Pin.
  3. The garden must be built using a publicly available spreadsheet which we will ask to be locked after being 100% deployed.
  4. We’re asking for ongoing nominations and we will release the winners throughout the year.

August POTM Winners

August POTM called for player nominations, as players submitted their selections for players with ZeeQRew or QRew status who demonstrate their dedication to readily responding to munzees and keeping the map clean. We received several dozen nominations and couldn’t be more thrilled to give this badge to those players who help keep Munzee fun for all!

September POTM Requirements

To celebrate birthday month in July, we offered a brand new badge that any player could earn regardless of whether or not they had previously earned Player of the Month. Well, September has us pretty excited about MHQ Bash 6, so we decided to once again offer a unique POTM badge this month that any player is eligible to earn! But before you get too excited, you’ll have to meet the requirements to earn this badge:

Players engaged in September Clan Wars will now have an extra goal to aspire to, as any player who earns a minimum of 5,000 points from any Clan Weapon activity in September will be awarded this special badge at the conclusion of the month. That means that Clan Weapon Capture, CapOn, and Deploy points will all count towards earning this elite badge for September POTM.

Thanks for making August a great month for Munzee! We can’t wait to share all the fun that September has in store!

September 2019 Clan Wars Requirements Have Arrived!

Are you ready to battle?! Clan Battle #78 will commence on September 3 at 00:01 MHQ time. In theme with the upcoming MedZEEval Times celebration, this month’s requirements will be focused on Clan Weapons, with special appearances by Jewel, Mystery, and Zodiac munzees. It’s a royal feast!

Are you interested in joining a new clan or trying out Clan Wars for the first time? You can use our Clan Randomizer button to find a spot! Just be sure to act fast, because this option will only be available from 00:01 MHQ time September 1 through 23:59 MHQ time September 2. Scroll down to the end of the blog for a friendly reminder of our acronyms, such as MOB and POB.

Individual

National Tooth Fairy Day Means New Specials!

Do you remember the joy of a loose baby tooth? The wiggle, the wonder, the crisp dollar bill you’d discover under your pillow in the morning. While you might not be celebrating loose teeth these days, we do have a way to get you excited about detached dentures. You’d expect for these specials to be released at tooth-hurty, but the Tooth Fairy Specials will actually be hitting the map at 15:00 MHQ time today for some tooth caps you’ll actually enjoy!

That’s right, August 22 marks National Tooth Fairy Day in the United States, a holiday that allows you to connect to your inner kid and recall the fun of this fabled fantasy figure. The Tooth Fairy Specials will be 3 physical Munzee Owned Bouncers (MOBs) that will bounce to specific munzees. We will be putting a total of 1,600 of these specials on the map, but some teeth are more rare than others! White Tooth specials are the most common, Gold Tooth specials are less common, and Diamond Tooth specials are super rare. All specials will bounce around every 8 hours or when captured and will remain on the map until September 7 at 23:59 MHQ time.

Where do teeth like to shop? At the Gap! But what landing pads are they attracted to? That depends on the special! The White Tooth will be attracted to Greenies, the Gold Tooth will be attracted to Premium Munzees, and the Diamond Tooth will be attracted to physical Jewel Munzees (Diamond, Ruby, Aquamarine, Topaz, and Pink Diamond). The point distribution for capping a Tooth Fairy special will vary based on which special is capped.

Points

  • White Tooth: 1 PinPoint and 50 points to both Capture and Host
  • Gold Tooth: 5 PinPoints and 100 points to both Capture and Host
  • Diamond Tooth: 10 PinPoints and 250 points to both Capture and Host

Alright guys, you know the drill! You can access our latest specials by turning on your “All Expiring Specials” and “All Limited Edition Specials” filters. Additionally, you can Magnetize Greenies to get White Tooth specials, but Gold and Diamond Tooth specials won’t be attracted to Magnets, so keep your eyes peeled for them!

UPDATE: If you are the owner of the munzee and you capture it, unfortunately, you will only get the capture rewards, not both. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Badges

While we can’t offer you a plaque, we do have badges you can earn instead! There will be a total of 4 new badges to earn for capturing the Tooth Fairy Specials. While we aren’t going to reveal all of the badges just yet, we will give you a sneak peek of what you can earn. The first badge in the series will appear as follows:

Introducing NEW Flat Friends Badges! (Plus Sale!)

With two of our Flat Friends planning to tie the knot, it seems like the perfect time to add some more excitement to the world of our flat game companions. That’s why we’re happy to announce our brand new line of Overall Flat Friends Capture and Deploy badges that are available as of 10:00 MHQ time today!

Badge Line Details

Our brand new line of overall capture and deploy badges will be for ANY type of Flat Friend Munzee, including the Fancy Flat Friend Variants. That means Flat Rob, Flat Matt, Flat Lou, and Flat Hammock PLUS Beach Flat Rob, Tux Flat Rob, Cold Flat Rob, Matt’er Up Flat Matt, Footy Flat Matt, and Face-Off Flat Matt all count for our Overall Flat Friends badges!

These badges will be retroactive, so all of your hard-earned Flat Friends captures and deploys will count towards earning some new achievements! There will be a Null for each line, with only the next available badge made visible.

The badges will start being awarded as of the publication of this blog, so you might just see some new badges today!

AccesorZees and Sweet Ridez!

The Overall Flat Friends badges will be awarded for both captures and deploys. The capture line features different “AccesorZees” for our Flat Friends, like Flat Rob’s hat, Flat Matt’s lasso and more! The deploy badge line features “Sweet Ridez” AKA different modes of transportation like Flat Rob’s Munzee Mobile and Flat Lou’s Bike!

There are currently 8 badges that you can earn per category, with 2 badges per each Flat Friend per category. That means each Flat Friend has 2 capture and 2 deploy badges to earn based on number of deploys or captures, for a total of 16 brand new badges! Please note that although these badge designs are attributed to specific characters, you can earn the badges by capturing and deploying ANY Flat Friend.

While we’re not about to reveal everything, we will provide a sneak peak of the first badge for both the capture and deploy lines. As you can tell by the requirements, you’re going to have to be quite the Flat Friends master to pick up all of these badges, because the numbers get high! Think you have what it takes?! 8zees Best Dressed Rock the 80s!

Munzee’s 8th birthday means 8 weeks of 8zees birthday events as players turn back time to relive the 80s!
