These Animal QRackers are Too Sweet for Soup!

Continuing our animal-filled April, we’ve created Animal QRacker specials just in time for National Animal Crackers Day! These specials are live NOW until 23:59 MHQ time on May 1!

We’ll be distributing the boxes in waves, but will end at a total of 900 Green Animal QRacker Boxes and 900 Red Animal QRacker Boxes. Though there will only be one icon shown on the map, there are a possibility of 7 different icons for each (a total of 14 different results!) revealed after this special is captured. Each icon will correspond with a different QRacker that will not be visible until captured, similar to how the Magic 8 Ball specials worked. They will bounce around every 4 hours or when capped.

Need MORE Pets? Mari’s Flat Object is Actually 2-in-1!

You didn’t really think we’d celebrate National Pet Day with just Pet Rocks, did you? If so — consider it a late April Fool’s prank! With so many loveable pets out there, we knew we had to include a crowd-pleasing, cute, and cuddly animal in the festivities. We got more than we bargained for, as you’ll see — one became two!

The seventh Flat Object is brought to you by Mari, our productive Product Manager! She is the one who keeps MHQ running like a well-oiled machine! Thanks to her diligence in planning things well in advance, we’ve managed to meet a lot of our goals on schedule, rather than 1,000 hours each time! If you’ve attended any of the Munzee Events we’ve hosted in the past, you may have met Mari, but for those who haven’t been fortunate enough to get to know her, or would like a refresher, you can check out her most recent Meet Munzee Munzday post HERE!

Mari’s Flat Object is similar to Wylie’s in that it may be more accurately described as Flat Pets — but as it follows the same structure as other Flat Objects, we’ll still call it one for consistency. Say hello to the Flat Cats, based on her cats Benji and Burr! Benji is the orange one and Burr is the black one – they are brothers and the bestest friends in the whole world! ? They are the stars of many a Zoom call (and possibly the only things keeping Mari from going insane while stuck at home — call it the opposite of the crazy cat lady effect)! Read on to learn more!

Flamingos Aren’t the Only Bird in Town! NEW Evolution!

Springtime is not only about beautiful new blooms — there’s lots of new life to look forward to! Since it’s been more than a year since the release of the Bee Evolution, it’s about time to add some new Evolution Munzees to our roster! Starting April 5 at 12:00 MHQ time, our brand new Duck Evolutions will be made available through the Freeze Tag Store!

Duck Evolution Munzees

The Duck Evolution is a bit different from the previous Animal Evolutions, as there are only 4 stages total. This is to balance out the longer time for the Duck to fully evolve — in our research, we found that it takes ducks 21 days to hatch. Stages 1-3 of the Duck Evos are virtual munzees, which are as follows:

Once these Evolutions reach Stage 3, a temporary POB will be launched, which is Stage 4. For example, if you’ve deployed a Duck Evolution, the Duckling will remain in place (as mentioned above), while the adult Duck variant will be launched at the same time for the duration of its “lifespan.”

Stage 4 Ducks will bounce to both physical and virtual landing pads every 8 hours. They have the option of emerging as one of the three different species shown below, with the Swan being the rarest of the 3.

Like the Flower Evolutions, the chance of the Duck Evolution evolving to one of the 3 types changes every time it is reset with the Evolution Reset Credit. Although you cannot capture a reset evolution if you have already captured the original from stages 1-3, you CAN capture the final level of a reset when it evolves and releases a new tPOB. An easy way to know is, if you see it on the map you can capture it!

Please note that although the first three stages for each are the same, they will count as different special capture icons.

Just like real life ducks, the Duck Evolution Munzees stick to a healthy diet! Bouncing Duck Evos will be attracted to the following landing pads:

To access the Duck Evolution Munzees, turn on your “Evolution” and “All Expiring Specials” filters. They will count toward Evolution Capture and Deploy badges.

Stake Your Claim on the Map With This NEW Flat Object!

It’s been a little over 2 weeks since Munzee Madness 11, and though it was still a multi-stage event, it feels like it ended so quickly. We really missed attending events in-person and seeing players we’ve known for years, along with some new faces! As its first event was in 2012, Munzee Madness is the longest-running annual event hosted by players. It was originated by one of our Resellers, 1849, who owns Gold’n Coins! This quick history lesson is just one example of Resellers helping to maintain and grow the Munzee community — so in honor of ALL our Resellers, we’ve created a NEW game piece just for them!

The sixth Flat Object is a little different from the previous objects, as it was not designed by one specific team member — instead, we’ve developed it to represent our Resellers! As Munzee is a global game, we appreciate that our Resellers make it easier for local players to get their hands on Munzee stickers and other physical items. On top of that, as mentioned above, they are often a huge part of maintaining and growing the local Munzee community.

This Flat (and the badges associated with them) will be continuing the pirate theme we’ve established for our Resellers. Read on to learn more!

ZEE-Dayz Coming Soon!

Similar to last week’s MunzPak ZEE-Dayz, expect a ZEE-Dayz event for non-trial Premium Members kicking off Thursday at 00:01 MHQ! Flat Munzees will see double their normal point values!

Are You an Animal Lover? Then You’ll Love Wylie’s Flat Object!

Now that we’re well into 2022, it’s just about time to release our first Flat Object of the year! With National Love Your Pet Day and National Walking the Dog Day coming up, it seemed like the perfect time for this next game piece to come into the spotlight. Expect to see lots of Munzee Merch in the store based on its design in the coming weeks!

The fifth Flat Object is brought to you by Wylie, our powerhouse Production Specialist! If you ever ordered physical products from the Freeze Tag Store, she has been involved in every step of the process in bringing that product to you! From designing to manufacturing to shipping, she can do it all! Put Pen to Paper — or Rather, Fingers to Keys — With Craig’s Flat Object!

At MHQ, we like to keep our players on their toes. We had quite a gap between the Flat Disc Golf Basket and the Flat Flashlight, and now, just over a month later, another new Flat Object?! Well, this month is National Novel Writing Month, aka NaNoWriMo, so we couldn’t pass up this opportunity, as you’ll see! The rest of the MHQ staff has been using their spare moments thoughtfully designing their own Flat Object, so we hope you keep an eye out for them as they are released!

The fourth Flat Object is brought to you by Craig, the CEO! Don’t be intimidated by his title — Craig is one of the more outgoing members of the team who enjoys chatting with players at Munzee Events and learning what makes them tick (not that the rest of us don’t enjoy it — it just seems to come naturally to Craig, without any shyness or awkwardness). For those who haven’t been fortunate enough to get to know him, or would like a refresher, you can check out his most recent Meet Munzee Munzday post HERE!

In his spare time, Craig turns to writing to give his creative juices an outlet. Did you know that he’s written plays that have been produced by theater companies?! Need Some Assistance? Call In The Pro-fright-ionals!

Would you believe we got the idea for these specials from a Dad Joke group? Once we heard the joke (“We all know Albert Einstein was a genius… But his brother Frank was a monster.”), we couldn’t pass it up, especially since we’ve already done a similar concept with Modern Myths! We hope you enjoy working with the Pro-fright-ionals! These specials are now live on the map for everyone and will remain available until October 31 at 23:59 MHQ.

Pro-fright-ional Details

There will be a total of 800 Pro-fright-ional Specials available for capture — that breaks down to 200 of each type. When you capture a Pro-fright-ional, you will earn 1 – 3 Candy Corn Credits! More Pro-fright-ionals may emerge if we feel that their Candy Corn Credit quota isn’t being met. Half of the Pro-fright-ionals will only land on physical munzees, while the other half will only land on virtual munzees, as you can see below:

You can use the “All Expiring Specials” and “All Limited Edition Specials” filters to more easily view them on the map. These are attracted to Physical or Virtual Magnets on their respective landing pads. These are officially tPOBs on the Munzee account and are not blastable.

There are 5 badges related to Pro-fright-ional specials.

The first 4 are based on the total number of Pro-fright-ional specials captured. You can sneak a peek at the first of this badge line below:

Monstrous Mind!- Capture 1 Pro-fright-ionals special of any type.

The final badge requires you to capture at least one of each Pro-fright-ional. Since there’s only one badge in this line, we’d like to keep it a secret for now. Hopefully it shouldn’t be too tough to get!

More Evolutions for Mitmegu!

With the release of the Void Mystery last month, all the conditions for NEW Mitmegu Evolutions (aka “Megu-lutions”) to emerge have been met! To celebrate we’ve also expanded how many Mitmegus you can own! Mitmegu and other shape-shifting friends have also been added back to the Freeze Tag Online Store HERE! Read on to learn more!

NEW Evolution Details

As before, unlike other Pouch Creatures, Mitmegu will change forms depending on what it lands on and capture streaks will not impact the changing critter’s evolution.

With the addition of these evolutions, the regular Mitmegu is now only cappable on Greenies.

However, if the Mitmegu lands on an Elemental Mystery, it will change forms!

  • If Mitmegu lands on a Water Mystery it turns into Jootmegu
  • If Mitmegu lands on an Earth Mystery it turns into Rohimegu
  • If Mitmegu lands on a Fire Mystery it turns into Lokemegu
  • NEW! If Mitmegu lands on an Air Mystery it turns into Ohkmegu
  • NEW! If Mitmegu lands on an Electric Mystery it turns into Murinmegu
  • NEW! If Mitmegu lands on a Void Mystery it turns into Urgasmegu

As a refresher, the points for Mitmegu and its Megu-lutions are as follows:

  • Mitmegu
    • Deploy: 250
    • Capture: 200
    • CapOn: 100
    • CapOn (Host Owner): 50
  • Megu-lutions
    • Capture: 400
    • CapOn: 100
    • CapOn (Host Owner): 50

Mitmegu will retain its number when it changes, and if you upgrade and change its name it will keep that name on all forms. Players can cap Mitmegu on their own munzees as well. You can find Mitmegu by turning on your “All Expiring Specials,” “All Limited Edition Specials,” or “All Pouch Creatures” filters. This new Pouch Creature WILL be attracted to physical magnets, but only as Mitmegu on Greenies.

Like the first batch, there will also be three badges to earn per variant. This means there are now 22 badges in the Mitmegu line (1 deploy badge + 3 capture badges * 7 forms).

Shape Shifters Return to Store!

Remember you can now own multiple Mitmegu, so they have been added back in the Freeze Tag Online Store from 12:00 MHQ on Monday, October 4th to 12:00 MHQ on Monday, November 1st! You’ll find our other shape-shifting Pouch Creatures on sale as well!

Are You Afraid of the Dark? Fight Back With Tamara’s Flat Object!

Time flies when you’re having fun! We’ve certainly enjoyed playing with Robbie’s Flat Disc Golf Basket — it had its own special, limited-time scatters, and was also part of the most recent Flat Day the 13th! Can you believe it was released all the way back in April?! The rest of the MHQ staff has been using their spare moments thoughtfully designing their own Flat Object, so we hope you keep an eye out for them as they are released!

The third Flat Object is brought to you by Tamara, a Product Manager in training! Many of you may not know Tamara as a lot of the things she does is behind-the-scenes — but for the past few years, you’ve all been reading her writing! For those who haven’t been fortunate enough to get to know her, or would like a refresher, you can check out her most recent Meet Munzee Munzday post HERE!

Tamara’s Flat Object features a humble tool you probably have in your home. As a fan of the mystery and horror genres, she’s created a Flat Flashlight game piece that should keep you well-equipped for the upcoming spooky season. Read on to learn more!

Flat Day The 13th Part 4: Left 4 Zeds

Last week was pretty wholesome with #NationalDiscGolfDay celebrations, so we bet you didn’t expect something on the opposite end of the spectrum so soon! This year for Flat Day the 13th, things are a little different as we’re introducing a permanent game piece instead of a bouncing special, so make sure to read all the details below!

NEW Nomad!

13 NEW Jason 4Zees Nomads have been unleashed on the map. Unlike other nomads, they will bounce every 6 hours or when captured.

Landing Pads:

  • All non-bouncing Flat Munzees:
    • Flat Friends:
      • Flat Rob
      • Flat Matt
      • Flat Lou
      • Flat Hammock
    • Flat Objects:
      • Flat DHS
      • Flat Disc Golf Basket

Points:

  • Capture: 513
  • CapOn (for host owner): 250

Additionally, the Jason 4Zees Nomads will scatter up to 3 NEW Killer Masks nearby when it is captured!

The Killer Mask will only be visible to the player who captured the Jason 4Zees Nomad and will scatter like Feathers! This means there are no CapOn points but you have thrilling results at stake:

  • Bad Result: lose 13 points
  • Good Result: 31 points and 13 Zeds

They’ll stay on the map for 2 hours after scattering. The capture radius is 300 feet for these. You won’t be able to use Rover Treats to capture them — Rover knows when he’s outmatched.

There will be 1 badge for unmasking Jason 4Zees. Since there’s only the 1 badge in this line, we want to keep it a secret for now. Jason 4Zees captures will also count toward the Nomad Munzee Badge Line.

Other than the badge specifically for Jason 4Zees mentioned above, which will always be attainable as Nomads are permanent game pieces, there are 3 badges that will only be available from Thursday, August 12th at 12:00 MHQ through Monday, August 16th at 12:00 MHQ.
