Hot Dogz Specials for a Sizzling Summer Start!

Is it hot in here, or is it just me? While it’s still a bit early to call it summer here at MHQ (it officially starts on the 21st), the temps are already feeling quite toasty. If you can’t take the heat as you’re cooking dinner, why not get out of the kitchen and grill instead?

If you don’t own a grill (or even if you do), let us serve you! We’ve cooked up some new specials for you to collect and build your perfect hot dog!

Hot Dogz Specials

Hot Dogz specials are now live on the map for everyone and will remain available until July 4 at 23:59 MHQ.

At launch you can expect to see the ingredients shown below, which are the Hot Dog Buns, Hot Dogs, Ketchup, Broon Sos, Bratwurst, and Mustard. These specials will be released in waves, ending at a total of 100 of each ingredient, except for Broon Sos, of which there are only 30. This is because Broon Sos is a rarer item in WallaBee, so we wanted to preserve its rarity here. More ingredients will appear as the month goes on, so make sure to keep an eye out!

They will bounce around every 4 hours or when capped.

These specials will be available for multi-capture. That means players can capture a Hot Dogz ingredient on their own munzees, any previously captured munzees, and more than once if the same Hot Dogz ingredient visits you. These munzees will not be blastable. They will be attracted to magnets, available from the Freeze Tag Online Store. You can access the Hot Dogz ingredients under the “All Expiring Specials” and “All Limited Specials” filters.

Badges

There are two lines of badges related to Hot Dogz specials.

The first line is based on overall Hot Dogz captures. These badges will show the journey of a growing hot dog empire! The first badge in this line depicts the humble hot dog stand and is earned by capping any ingredient!

The second line of badges is based on capping different combinations of Hot Dogz specials, similar to last year’s World Sushi Day specials. Make sure to cap at least one of each special so you can try each type of hot dog!

Flat DHS Scatters Return for National VCR Day!

With Flat Murray scatters just leaving the map yesterday, we bet you didn’t expect another round of Flat scatters so soon! National VCR Day is today, so we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to bring back the Flat DHS scatters!

Limited Time Scatter Details

From the period of Tuesday, June 7th at 12:00 MHQ through Sunday, June 12th at 23:59 MHQ, when you capture a Flat DHS, up to 3 Tapes may be scattered nearby!

As before, the Tapes will be visible to any player and will be deployed on the Flat DHS owner’s account. This means that unlike Feathers/Boulders, there are CapOn points for the owner! They expire after 120 minutes, have a capture radius of 300 feet, and you’ll be able to use Rover Treats to capture them as well! These tape scatters will NOT count for deploy streaks, ZeeOps, or clan activity since they are passive deploys.

The rewards for Tapes are as follows:

  • Capture: 50 points
  • CapOn: 25 points

There are 3 badges available for this special period. These are different from last year’s, so make sure you cap as many Tapes as you can to receive all 3 badges! We’ll keep the last one a secret for now.

NEW Additions to the Education Set Evolutions!

Nothing makes you feel older than seeing a once ubiquitous technology from what seems like just a few years ago become obsolete. While this realization can be a little painful, you also come to appreciate and have nostalgia for past tech — after all, they did the job in their time, and without them, today’s tech wouldn’t be so advanced! Keeping this in mind, we selected 4 different technologies to create new Education Set Evos!

Starting June 3 at 12:00 MHQ time, our brand new Education Set Evolutions will be made available through the Freeze Tag Store and through our Authorized Resellers!

NEW Education Set Evolution Munzees

These Evolutions are a bit different from the previous Education Set Evolutions, as there are 4 stages total, versus the usual 3. We wanted to make these new evolutions more exciting by fitting more stages within a shorter time period. Since it wouldn’t be very fun to base the evolution timeframe in reality — some of these technologies took decades or even centuries to develop — we have decided to have each of these evolve every 10 days. Once Stage 4 is reached on the 30th day, it will remain that way on the map — unless of course, it is reset with an Evolution Reset Credit.

Flat Murray Scatters Give You Some Dog Days to Celebrate!

We heard that this weekend is quite a special one in the UK — but since Munzee is a global game, instead of making that the focus of our Munzee world, we found another holiday that works for all of us. International Corgi Day is on June 4th, so we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to have some fun with Wylie’s Flat Murray! However, we couldn’t totally ignore the joyous jubilee, so you may notice the badges have a bit of English flavor! We’re particularly chuffed with how the HRH Murray badge turned out — he’d definitely be chums with the Royal Corgis!

June 2022 Clan Wars Requirements

It’s almost June! You’ll find all the latest details to our clan requirements and rewards in the clan section of our app. There have been a few issues with activity not counting for some players in the opening minutes of the clan war. Please be sure to give our servers a bit of time to switch from Clan Wars OFF to Clan Wars ON. 🙂 This will ease frustration, just 10 or 15 minutes will make all the difference. We’re happy everyone is so anxious to get started on the 3rd of each month! In addition: Please do not change your clan membership for at least 2 hours after the month ends. The calculations are still being made and it could ruin your efforts.

It is possible that we could update clan requirements prior to June 3 and reserve the right to do so. The final requirements and rewards will always be shown in the app. All of this is up in the air based on how situations continue to change worldwide based on COVID-19.

June ClanPak

Last year, we introduced the ClanPak! While MunzPaks started as a product to aid in Clan Wars, they have transitioned over time. Sometimes you may need a few things to help meet Clan War Requirements, (i.e. magnets, QRowbars, etc.) and reach your goals.

There is a limit of one per player per product/month. You can purchase the June ClanPak HERE! This is NOT a subscription program.

June Badges

Your Clan can earn monthly badges to earn for reaching distinct levels of Clan Wars each month. You won’t be able to earn a badge until the entire clan has reached the specified level. Since there is NO Level X this month, there will be a total of 5 badges available in June. The first badge will appear as follows:

Overall Clan Notes:

Please keep in mind Levels 4 & 5 are considered advanced gameplay and not recommended for brand new players. Be aware when allowing new players to join your clans. QRew/ZeeQRew status will be required for any clans earning levels 3, 4 & 5. See qualifications for ZeeQRew here. If you are not a member on June 1st you will not be able to qualify until June 15th. If you lose qualification before the 15th you will not be able to qualify until July 1st.

*Claimed QRates will not carry over from before the clan battle starts. The QRate must be found, opened, and claimed during the month of the current clan battle. This time period begins on the 3rd, same as the clan battle.

*All shards may be redeemed at https://www.munzee.com/redeem
Total points include Cap, Deploy, and CapOn of all types.
Reseller caps/deploys include all types of RUM/vRUM/reseller card but NOT reseller gnomes or any scatters.

Scrap Wars: Episode II ZEE-Dayz

A certain space opera’s newest television series debuts today, so it’s the perfect excuse to bring back some beloved specials from earlier in the month. This time, however, it’s your turn to deploy your very own themed Mechz! Read on for everything you need to know!

Updated ARF2D2 + ZEE-3PO

By popular demand, ARF2D2 and ZEE-3PO are now available for players to purchase and deploy! As before, they will bounce around every 6 hours or when capped. They will also stay on the map until they have been captured 5 times, when they will be archived. After the fifth capture these specials will be “swamped” or “scrapped”, respectively, which results in more points for the capper.

You have the option of purchasing ARF2D2 in its own pack HERE, ZEE-3PO in its own pack HERE, or a pack containing both HERE. They’ll be in the store until 23:59 MHQ on May 30th.

As the point values have increased and landing pads have been added, we’ve updated the data table for these Mechz below:

These Mechz will be available for multi-capture. From the period of Friday, May 27th at 12:00 MHQ through Monday, May 30th at 23:59 MHQ, we’ve got some special packs in stock! Shop them all in the Mech Collection HERE! A few of them were already mentioned above, but for clarity we’ll include them again in the list below:

When you purchase a Mech, it will auto-deploy the Mech and also provide you with the Blueprints to rebuild it again with Cogs, if you don’t already own it.

Double Magnet Effectiveness Details

From the period of Friday, May 27th at 12:00 MHQ through Monday, May 30th at 23:59 MHQ (same period as the special pack availability), enjoy double magnet effectiveness (meaning, magnets will attract TWICE the number of bouncers) AND double capacity on Scrap Stars, tPOB Pubs, Treehouses, and Skylands!

Remember that since Premium Members now attract 4 bouncers with normal magnet usage and 7 bouncers when magnetizing a Landing Pad destination, when doubled they’ll attract 8 and 14 bouncers, respectively!

May 2022 GOTM Winners

This month we’ve been taking things a bit slower, but that doesn’t mean we left you to your own devices! We brought the tradition of May the Fourth Munzee Events to everyone with a very special ZEE-Dayz, which included ARF2D2 and ZEE-3PO specials to capture, a NEW Scrap Star Temporary Destination, double points on Mechz, and a sale!

The next week we celebrated the ONLY Flat Day the 13th this year with another ZEE-Dayz! This time, Unlucky Object specials started bouncing around the map (and still are!) and there were double points on Flats and other related types. We also introduced some new hidden badges for you to earn!

Just last week, we released a NEW Secret ZeeOp for you to participate in, which will reward you with the R3X-0-Skeleton Mech once you complete it. Other than that, it’s been fairly quiet here at MHQ the past few days… but maybe that means we’re gearing up for some big surprises!

We are now happy to announce the winners of the May Gardens of the Month (GOTM)! The badges will be awarded by early June, but we couldn’t wait to share the winners we’ve chosen!

It seems we’ll all need to take a vacation to England’s beaches! They’ve got some beautiful gardens that we’d love to visit and cap! Remember that all winning GOTM organizers and all players who deployed in the winning gardens will be awarded special badges for their contribution to growing the map. This month we’re happy to award the Horatio the Hermit Crab garden, designed by Waves117 and FlamingoFlurrier, and the Beach Umbrella garden, designed by BonnieB1, as our winning May GOTM! The gardens appear as follows:

Here’s a note from the player who designed this garden:

This Garden is situated in the centre of Cromer, Norfolk, England, UK and is the centrepiece of my next Munzee event in October. The inspiration for this Garden came from

1) Cromer being famous for its freshly caught delicacy of crabs and

2) Norfolk’s most famous son Admiral Lord Horatio Nelson – born in Norfolk.

So meet Horatio the Hermit Crab. With over 500 pins it initially felt a bit of a challenge to fill but the munzee community reserved spots quickly and it was fully reserved within 4 days.

This adorable crab definitely caught our eye earlier in the year, but we wanted to save it for a warmer month. We are especially impressed with the colors used for its shell — who knew Void Mysteries and Peas Evos would look so good together, and create a pearlescent appearance?!

Beach Umbrella by BonnieB1 in Westbourne, Bournemouth, England, UK

Angling the garden to make the bottom edge of the umbrella line up with the beach must have made the design process trickier than it looks!

Here’s a note from the player who nominated this garden:

Situated on the cliffs above the fantastic beaches of Bournemouth, and utilises a number of different Munzees cleverly to make a stunning effect.

The strong lines of this garden make it instantly recognizable, even when zoomed out quite far. The combination of Electric Mysteries, Virtual Colors, Citrines, Carrot Evos, Flat Flashlights, Submarine Evos, and Flat Disc Golf Baskets capture the colors of summer so well!

ZeeOps and Clan Wars players will also appreciate the use of Night Vision Goggles, Crossbows, and Catapults for the outlines.

All players who deployed in the respective winning gardens will receive the following special badges:

Rules for GOTM nominations:

  1. Garden must feature non-licensed character designs.
  2. The garden must feature a Garden Places Pin.
  3. The garden must be built using a publicly available spreadsheet which we will ask to be locked after being 100% deployed.
  4. We’re asking for ongoing nominations and we will release the winners throughout the year.

June 2022 Skin: Aloha Flamingo

As the month comes to a close, we wanted to make sure you were heading into June with your desired Flamingos! The skin for completing your May capture streak (and the corresponding badge), which is the Graduate Garden Flamingo shown below, will be awarded in early June. But, we couldn’t wait to share what’s in store for next month!

May Flamingo Reminders

If you haven’t picked up a Flamingo yet, they are available in the Freeze Tag Store for $8.

Each month, the price of a Flamingo will decrease by $1. However, players can only purchase 1 Flamingo every 28 days.

Don’t forget that you’ll need to own at least 8 Flamingos by the end of the year to have a permanent one next year — so make sure to stock up soon if you’re a fan of these brightly-colored lawn decorations!

What Flamingo Skin can you look forward to earning in June? The vibrant Aloha Garden Flamingo! Like the other flamingos, the Aloha Garden Flamingo is a temporary POB that will remain on the map as long as players with permanent Garden Flamingos continue to use it.

Like the other Flamingo Feathers, these scatters will be visible to any player and will be deployed on the Flamingo owner’s account. This means that unlike Air Mystery Feathers/Boulders, there are CapOn points for the owner! They expire after 120 minutes and have a capture radius of 300 feet. These flamingo scatters will NOT count for deploy streaks, ZeeOps, or clan activity since they are passive deploys.

Badges

As a reminder, Garden Flamingos have 4 associated badge lines:

  • Unique type deploy badges — you’ll need to earn each month’s skin by keeping your streak up!
  • Overall deploy badges — the more flamingos you deploy, the merrier!
  • Unique type capture badges — capture at least 1 of each skinned flamingo!
  • Overall capture badges — capture as many flamingos as you can find!

While we revealed images for the first of each badge line in the original post, we are happy to show you the “Unique type deploy” and “Unique type capture” badges associated with the Aloha Garden Flamingo:

Flat Day The 13th Part 5: Unlucky Objects

You guessed it! There’s only 1 Friday the 13th this year, so we wanted to make sure this one was extra-special. Continuing our tradition of themed specials, this year we’ve got some Unlucky Objects for you to collect! Please note that as they are MOBs, caps of them will not count towards any Flat requirements in Clan Wars or ZeeOps, though they do look similar to our Flat Objects. On top of that, we’ve got some limited-time and not-so-limited-time badges to earn, a sale, and DOUBLE POINTS on certain types, so make sure to read all the details below!

Unlucky Object Specials

From the period of Friday, May 13th at 12:00 MHQ through Sunday, May 29th at 23:59 MHQ, Unlucky Object Specials will bounce around on the map! We’ll be releasing the Objects in waves, but will end at 313 of each Object, for a total of 2191 Specials. They will bounce around every 4 hours or when capped.

These specials will be available for multi-capture. That means players can capture an Unlucky Object on their own munzees, any previously captured munzees, and more than once if the same Unlucky Object visits you. These munzees will not be blastable. They will be attracted to magnets, available from the Freeze Tag Online Store. You can access the Unlucky Object specials under the “All Expiring Specials” and “All Limited Specials” filters.

Badges

We’ve created 10 NEW Badges for you to earn via specific gameplay actions! As four of them are time-sensitive, here are the details for those first:

  • The 4 time-sensitive badges will only be available for the same time period as the Unlucky Objects are bouncing around on the map.
    • 2 of the badges are based on the total number of Unlucky Objects capped. You can see what the first badge in the line looks like below.
    • 1 of the badges is based on capping one of each of the Unlucky Objects, so make sure to cap as many as you can!
    • The final badge has very special requirements which we’ll keep a secret for now… think you can figure it out?

May the Fourth Specials + ZEE-Dayz

Today is a very special day in the Munzee world — it’s May 4th! Pre-pandemic, this date was a popular choice for events themed around a certain space opera, so the Munzee Calendar would be full of “May the Fourth” events. Creative event hosts found a way to extend this theme to the 5th and 6th days of the month by dubbing them either “Return of the Fifth” or “Return of the Sixth” events, respectively. While the current situation has unfortunately put these events on hiatus (not to mention that all of these days are during the workweek, which would make it difficult for players to meet up for an event anyway) we decided to bring the party to you! Read on for everything you need to know!

May the Fourth Specials

From the period of Wednesday, May 4th at 12:00 MHQ through Thursday, May 12th at 23:59 MHQ, May the Fourth Specials will bounce around on the map! Like the original KrampBots, these specials are Mechz, which means they are also tPOBs, but solely owned by an official Munzee account. No players are able to purchase/own/deploy a May the Fourth special. We’ll be releasing the Mechz in waves, but will end at a total of 1000 ARF2D2s and 1000 ZEE-3P0s. They will bounce around every 6 hours or when capped.

These specials will stay on the map until they have been captured 5 times, when they will be archived. After the fifth capture these specials will be “swamped” or “scrapped”, respectively, which results in more points for the capper.

These specials will be available for multi-capture. That means players can capture an ARF2D2 or ZEE-3P0 on their own munzees, any previously captured munzees, and more than once if the same ARF2D2 or ZEE-3P0 visits you. These munzees will not be blastable. They will be attracted to magnets, available from the Freeze Tag Online Store. You can access the May the Fourth specials under the “All Expiring Specials” and “All Limited Specials” filters.

When an ARF2D2 is captured, it will scatter up to 3 Leash Sabers. Similarly, when a ZEE-3P0 is captured, it will scatter up to 3 Tin Toppers.

NEW Scrap Star Details

We are happy to unveil the Scrap Star,  the second temporary virtual Destination! The Scrap Star works just like the tPOB Pub, except that it ONLY ATTRACTS Mechz.

It is available NOW in the Freeze Tag Online Store HERE. Be sure to shop fast, because it will leave the store at 12:00 MHQ on Monday, May 16th!

  • ONLY DEPLOYABLE IN-APP
  • Attracts up to 6 Mechz over time
  • Stays on the map for 7 days
  • Automatically magnetized when 1st deployed
    • Is magnetizable afterwards
  •  Points:
    • Deploy: 250 points
    • Cap: 10 points + points for Mechz in the Scrap Star at the time of capture.
    • CapOn: 50 points
  • Can be capped once per player per 24 hour MHQ day
    • New Mech landings do NOT refresh the capture setting
  • The regular Mech timer is still in effect. If a Mech times out, it leaves the Scrap Star and an open spot becomes available for others
  • Players will see the base icon above for 0, but then a 1-6 as more Mechz stop by

The deploy circle for Scrap Star will be 4,000 feet (1219.2 m) from the nearest tPOB Pub or Scrap Star. Capture radius is 1000 feet.

To access the Scrap Star, turn on your Virtual filter and find it under “Destinations”. If the Scrap Star is hosting munzees, it can also be visible with the “All Expiring Specials” filter.

From the period of Wednesday, May 4th at 12:00 MHQ through Monday, May 16th at 12:00 MHQ (same period as Scrap Star availability), select Mechz are back in stock! Shop them all in the Mech Collection HERE!

When you purchase a Mech, it will auto-deploy the Mech and also provide you with the Blueprints to rebuild it again with Cogs, if you don’t already own it.
