Urban Fit Munzees Gear Up to Race onto the Map!

The great sneaker vs. tennis shoe terminology debate on social media, may have seemed a bit random, but you should know better! No, that wasn’t just MHQ having fun. When it comes to this multi-layered game, there’s always an agenda, so we’re happy to announce that the new Urban Fit Munzees will be ready to race this afternoon!

This new type of munzee will go on sale this afternoon (March 28) at 15:00 MHQ time. The Freeze Tag Online Store will be selling physical credits, but authorized Resellers will also have a sticker version available for purchase. The credits will normally be priced at 5 for $5, but for today only they’re on sale for 5 for $4.50. Resellers will be selling packs of 10 stickers for $5, but stock will be limited so make sure you follow them on social media to know when they go live. Our store link will be live at 15:00.

Deploy proximity will be 150 feet from all other Fit Munzees, all other normal proximity rules apply.

As an additional bonus, all Premium Accounts have been gifted with two courtesy Urban Fit credits at the time of launch. Clan members might want to hold off on deploying those just yet though…

Running Rewards COMING SOON

Need a BOOST to get moving? The Urban Fit munzee comes with a special feature that you can unlock very soon!

When 15 Urban Fitness Munzees are capped and/or deployed during an MHQ 24-hour day, the player will earn a 2x Physical Deploy Booster Credit*.

Remember our Pouch Creature friend the white ghost Hadavale? The Booster Credit will operate in a similar way; when activated you will become “positively charged” and receive double points on all physical Deploys for the next 120 minutes. This is for ALL types of physical munzees, for an entire two hours! There’s one BIG differences though!

While capping Hadavale starts the two hours immediately, with a Booster Credit you can decide when you want it to begin. Players will be able to earn more than one Booster Credit a day each time they cap/deploy 15 Urban Fitness Munzees.

Please note that this booster credit will not be able to be used at the moment, but it will be stored and available for use in an upcoming app update. Again, you will still be able to earn these Booster Credits when capping/deploying Urban Fits TODAY, but you will not be able to use them just yet. You can see when you earn the credits in the usual location. We thank you for your patience, we promise this particular update is sure to be a great FIT.

If Booster Credits aren’t enough to get your heart racing, we also have two new lines of Urban Fit badges for capturing and deploying these new munzees. We won’t show you all of them just yet, but here are the first two you can start earning TODAY (after 3pm)!

Are you ready to hit the gym? Or maybe just a nice long walk and cap. It doesn’t matter if you call them sneakers, tennis shoes, trainers, runners, joggesko, or anything else! Just slip them on, lace them up, and get active!

The last four weeks have brought us the 50s, 60s, 70s, and 80s Munzee Personal tags, and our penultimate tag is ready to get crunk!

One might say the 90s personal tag is the bomb. (And that person would be correct.)

Are you considering missing this personal tags sale? As if! The 90s personal tags will be in the store for exactly one week, available for purchase until Wednesday, April 3 at 15:00 MHQ time. At this point our final tag, the 00s tag, will bump it off the market. To save some cheddar, don’t forget to add your FREE Blast Capture to the cart with any Blast From The Past personal tag purchase.

Washington Iconic Location Munzees Join the Map!

We’re excited to announce the latest Tourism Munzee destination and welcome the Washington Iconic Locations virtual munzees to the map! Not to be confused with Washington D.C. (which is more than 2,500 miles away), Washington state earns the distinction of being the only state to be named after a United States president, which is why this lovely wigged man is on the icon.

The Washington Iconic Locations join other Tourism Munzees, such as Australia, Great Britain, Florida, California, and more. You can access these special virtual munzees by turning on your Tourism filter!

The Washington Iconic Location virtuals are deployed by an MHQ account based on a database of historical markers that player Jellybean88 helped us put together! Players will earn 50 points when they capture the latest Tourism Munzee in the state that also earns the distinction of housing billionaire Bill Gates, as well as the largest apple production in the country.

Like other Historical and Iconic Location Munzees, these new Tourism munzees will not be blastable. They also will not be accompanied by a distinct set of badges, as captures will instead count towards the Tourism line of badges.

Our Tourism badges are primarily linked to the Historic and Iconic Munzees from different countries around the world, as well as states in the U.S. There are six badges in total, with plans to release more Historic and Iconic Location Munzees in the future, so stay tuned! If you ever come across any Iconic Location or Historic Munzees deployed in the wrong place, please contact support with the name/URL of the munzee and correct information.

Personal Munzee Gameplay Update

Happy Friday! Today we’re announcing a slight update to how personal munzees operate. Previously the owners of a personal munzee were able to deploy up to 3 times per day in new locations by scanning the munzee in the location they wanted to deploy it, leaving the munzee open for capture up to one mile away. You are now able to deploy your personal munzee up to 10 times in a day!

Deploying a personal munzee multiple times in a day allows for players to deploy at events and then walk around the area while still being able to have their personal munzee captured. As a reminder, personal munzees are exempt from proximity rules, so there can be deployed anywhere you wish up to 10 times in a day now.

California 8th Birthday Celebration Dates!

We’re giving you plenty of time to mark your calendars and book your flights, because we’re announcing the dates for the Munzee 8th Birthday California celebration earlier than last year! Hosted by members of the Freeze Tag office, the 8th birthday celebration of everyone’s favorite real world scavenger hunt will take place on Saturday, July 20 in Orange County, California.

New Generic Grab Bags for Sale!

Tomorrow marks the first day of spring at MHQ, which has us feeling particularly warm. We decided to celebrate by putting $5 Grab Bags featuring our new generic designs in the Freeze Tag Online Store starting today at 15:00 MHQ time!

You’ll get over $5 worth of generic munzees in each Grab Bag, including the existing mini urban and urban camo designs, as well as some brand new designs featuring a variety of different themes! Each Grab Bag will include a random selection, so you don’t know which design you’ll get. The Grab Bags will remain in the store until we sell out, so be sure to shop now to avoid missing out!

More March Players of the Month Awarded!

We’ve seen many of you posting about your new POTM badges, and we’re happy to announce the addition of a number of names to the March POTM list!

This month we rewarded players based on hksfarm’s Monthly Munzee Giveaway video contest! In preparation for our April fitness initiative, the theme for March’s contest was videoing a Munzee at a fitness club or gym in order to encourage staying active. All creative video submissions sent in by March 15 at 23:59 MHQ time were taken into consideration for March POTM.

Though March POTM has concluded, the monthly video contest will continue until the end of the month if you’d like to submit your video for the chance to win hksfarm’s giveaway! Just be sure to stop by the Facebook page and read about video terms and guidelines. Scroll to the end of the blog to view our additional March POTM winners, as well as their winning video submissions!

What’s New at MHQ Live Stream Link!

Happy Friday, Munzers! If you’re not in the loop, we just concluded our second Facebook Live stream of the year. This monthly video cast is an opportunity for us to share what’s new at MHQ and in the world of Munzee, as well as address player questions.

Our second live stream touched on a number of topics, including our recent Banshee Munzee, 4.0 updates, our upcoming April fitness initiative, St. Patrick’s Day specials, and more.
