Beautify the Map in One Easy Step!

We’ve offered small pre-built gardens as part of Event Packages in the past, but this NEW munzee will be available to everyone, and allow for greater control of where exactly the garden is placed.

How to Use the Insta-Garden

  1. Navigate to an Insta-Garden in your Undeployed list
  2. Tap to Deploy it as usual
  3. When the map to set the location loads, you will see the Insta-Garden pin centered on your location as usual, AND an overlay of the current available Insta-Garden Design underneath, centered on the Insta-Garden pin
  4. Move the Insta-Garden pin to your desired location, and the Insta-Garden Design will move with it, remaining centered underneath the pin
  5. We recommend using the Insta-Garden in wide, open spaces on the map — you will most likely have difficulties trying to deploy a garden EXACTLY in-between other munzees that have already been deployed
  6. Once you’ve found the perfect spot, confirm your deploy as usual!
  7. Please note: it may take some time for all the deploys to appear on the map — think of the deploy process as similar to a blast capture, where individual munzees are queued for processing. However, you should have no issues with anyone deploying within the confines of any partially-deployed gardens, as each deploy is timestamped even if it is queued — so your deploys will naturally have an earlier timestamp and take precedence
  8. Please also note: the Insta-Garden pin will ALWAYS be replaced by the actual Insta-Garden Design once you deploy, so you will never see the Insta-Garden pin itself on the map — it only exists up to the Deploy screens

For testing purposes, we used last year’s March into May Event garden design as the Insta-Garden Design above, but to keep those gardens more limited and unique, we’ve created a NEW Insta-Garden Design that will deploy from the Insta-Garden pins now. We want to keep the new design a surprise though, so you’ll have to pick one up and deploy it to find out what it is! Or you could just wait until someone else posts it, but where’s the fun in that?

You’ve Been Flocked! ZEE-Dayz

Right on the heels of the Virtual Vacation ZEE-Dayz, we’ve prepped another short event, but instead of double points, double effectiveness, or double capacity, we’ve prepared something very unique… a harmless prank, if you will. As it’s April Fool’s Day, today is all about the “You’ve Been Flocked!” prank! For those not in the know, the main concept behind the prank is to sneakily decorate someone’s lawn with a whole flock of plastic flamingos! The finishing touch is usually a “You’ve been flocked!” sign. Here‘s an example if you’re curious…

To bring this prank into the Munzee world, we’ve got a new Greeting Card, some limited time Flamingo scatters, and more! Read on for everything you need to know!

NEW Greeting Card Munzee Details

We have 1 new Limited Edition card for your deploying pleasure available HERE! Special Scatter Details

From the period of Friday, April 1st at 00:01 MHQ through Saturday, April 2nd at 23:59 MHQ, the base Garden Flamingo (without any skins equipped) will scatter 1-3 Plastic Garden Flamingos nearby.

Yes, they are the same Plastic Garden Flamingos that will scatter from the Foolish Garden Flamingo once it’s available next month! We thought it would be nice to give the base Garden Flamingo its time in the spotlight, and also give you a preview of this special scatter!

If you don’t own any Garden Flamingos, you can purchase one in the Freeze Tag Store HERE! Since it’s now April, the price should be reduced to $9!

Refreshing Flamingo Flock

For the same time period mentioned above, if you’ve captured all the munzees near you, you’ll be happy to discover that your map has been flocked! ALL Greenies and Virtual Colors will have the “mask munzees” shown below applied to them.

What we mean by “mask munzee” is that they appear on top of a host munzee, similar to a bouncing munzee, but once capped they do NOT bounce anywhere else. You have “removed” the mask. We first did this with our Back to the Future Day specials (BttFDs) way back in 2015, but there are 3 key differences between those specials and these flamingos, namely:

  1. The BttFDs were only applied to Greenies
  2. If a player capped a BttFDs on a Greenie, others could still cap it on the same Greenie
  3. BttFDs were worth WAY less points

Now we know what you’re thinking — these masks look pretty similar to the other Plastic Garden Flamingos shown before it. Allow us to make the differences clear with another table:

April 2022 Skin: Foolish Flamingo

As the month comes to a close, we wanted to make sure you were heading into April with your desired Flamingos! The skin for completing your March capture streak (and the corresponding badge), which is the Lucky Garden Flamingo shown below, will be awarded in early April. But, we couldn’t wait to share what’s in store for next month!

March Flamingo Reminders

If you haven’t picked up a Flamingo yet, they are available in the Freeze Tag Store for $10.

Each month, the price of a Flamingo will decrease by $1. However, players can only purchase 1 Flamingo every 28 days.

Don’t forget that you’ll need to own at least 8 Flamingos by the end of the year to have a permanent one next year — so make sure to stock up soon if you’re a fan of these brightly-colored lawn decorations!

April Flamingo Details

What Flamingo Skin can you look forward to earning in April? The funny Foolish Garden Flamingo! Like the other flamingos, the Foolish Garden Flamingo is a temporary POB that will remain on the map as long as players with permanent Garden Flamingos continue to use it.

As stated earlier, to earn this skin, you’ll need to complete next month’s (April’s) capture streak. Once the skin is awarded in May, you can change the skin on the flamingo to this one at any point — refer to our Help Guide article for the instructions!

You can find these frivolous fowls adding cheer to the following landing pads every 6 hours or when captured:

Additionally, the Foolish Garden Flamingo will scatter up to 3 NEW Plastic Garden Flamingos OR Funny Feathers nearby when it is captured, similar to how Tree scatters can be split! Like the other Flamingo Feathers, these scatters will be visible to any player and will be deployed on the Flamingo owner’s account. This means that unlike Air Mystery Feathers/Boulders, there are CapOn points for the owner! They expire after 120 minutes and have a capture radius of 300 feet. These flamingo scatters will NOT count for deploy streaks, ZeeOps, or clan activity since they are passive deploys.

Stake Your Claim on the Map With This NEW Flat Object!

It’s been a little over 2 weeks since Munzee Madness 11, and though it was still a multi-stage event, it feels like it ended so quickly. We really missed attending events in-person and seeing players we’ve known for years, along with some new faces! As its first event was in 2012, Munzee Madness is the longest-running annual event hosted by players. It was originated by one of our Resellers, 1849, who owns Gold’n Coins! This quick history lesson is just one example of Resellers helping to maintain and grow the Munzee community — so in honor of ALL our Resellers, we’ve created a NEW game piece just for them!

The sixth Flat Object is a little different from the previous objects, as it was not designed by one specific team member — instead, we’ve developed it to represent our Resellers! As Munzee is a global game, we appreciate that our Resellers make it easier for local players to get their hands on Munzee stickers and other physical items. On top of that, as mentioned above, they are often a huge part of maintaining and growing the local Munzee community.

This Flat (and the badges associated with them) will be continuing the pirate theme we’ve established for our Resellers. Read on to learn more!

Last week, we teased that a NEW game piece was coming and that non-trial Premium Members would be getting one automatically at 12:00 MHQ today! The wait is over — we are happy to unveil the tPOB Pub,  the first temporary virtual Destination!

Otherwise, if you’re not a Premium Member, the tPOB Pub is available NOW in the Freeze Tag Online Store HERE. Be sure to shop fast, because it will leave the store at 23:59 MHQ on Thursday, March 31st!

Why use a tPOB Pub? This extra special munzee has the following awesome advantages:

To access the tPOB Pub, turn on your Virtual filter and find it under “Destinations”. If the tPOB Pub is hosting munzees, it can also be visible with the “All Expiring Specials” filter.

NEW Specials for the Most Important Meal of the Day!

Last week we introduced the limited-time Sham Rock Credit, and promised to release new MOBs that are guaranteed to award them, so here they are! We were inspired by a certain marshmallow-y cereal, and the fact that National Cereal Day is today! Starting at 12:00 MHQ on March 7th, National Cereal Day specials will bounce around the map until 23:59 MHQ on March 31st.

National Cereal Day Specials

We’ll be releasing the bowls in waves, but will end at a total of 500 Empty Blue Cereal Bowls and 500 Empty Yellow Cereal Bowls. They will bounce around on the map every 4 hours or when captured. You can find these empty vessels at the following munzees near you:

Both bowls will be worth 77 points and 1 – 3 Sham Rock Credits for the Capture and 33 points for the CapOn, so you don’t want to miss out! Empty Blue Cereal Bowls will be attracted to Physical Magnets, while Empty Yellow Cereal Bowls will be attracted to Virtual Magnets. To access these specials, please turn on your “All Expiring Specials” and “All Limited Edition Specials” filters.

When you capture an Empty Blue Cereal Bowl, there is a chance that a Green Milk Carton will scatter nearby. Similarly, when you capture an Empty Yellow Cereal Bowl, there is a chance that a Pink Milk Carton will scatter nearby. These munzees will stay on the map for 30 minutes or when captured, and are worth 50 points.

Additionally, when you capture a Green Milk Carton, there is a chance that a Bone Bites Cereal Box or a Unicorn Puffs Cereal Box will scatter nearby! Similarly, when you capture a Pink Milk Carton, there is a chance that a Honeycomb Crunch Cereal Box or a Spearmint Bran Cereal Box will scatter nearby. Like the Milk Cartons, these munzees will stay on the map for 30 minutes or when captured, and are worth 50 points.

Lastly, when you capture a Cereal Box, there is a small chance that its matching Cereal Spoon will scatter nearby! These munzees will stay on the map for 30 minutes or when captured, and as they are quite rare, they are worth 150 points.

Badges

There will be eight badges to earn for these specials. Four are based on the total number of National Cereal Day specials you capture, but just how many captures it takes to earn all four badges will be kept a secret! The remaining four badges are based on capturing each of the different Cereal Spoons you see here. You can see the first badges in each line below:

March 2022 Skin: Lucky Flamingo

Are You an Animal Lover? Then You’ll Love Wylie’s Flat Object!

Now that we’re well into 2022, it’s just about time to release our first Flat Object of the year! With National Love Your Pet Day and National Walking the Dog Day coming up, it seemed like the perfect time for this next game piece to come into the spotlight. Expect to see lots of Munzee Merch in the store based on its design in the coming weeks!

Wylie’s Flat Object may actually be more accurately described as a Flat Pet — but as it follows the same structure as other Flat Objects, we’ll still call it one for consistency. Say hello to the Flat Murray, based on one of the great loves of Wylie’s life — her pet Corgi (sorry Dylan!). Like his mom and dad, Murray has a flair for fashion, so these pups (and the badges associated with them) will be dressed to the nines. Read on to learn more!

The Flat Murray joins the Flats as a virtual type. It is currently available in the Freeze Tag Store HERE!

Capture Radius: 300 feet, blastable

Proximity: 50 feet from other players’ Flats, 150 feet from your own.

Deploy: 19 points

Capture: Split 91 points with a minimum of 19 Points

CapOn: Split 91 points with a minimum of 19 Points
