Announcing World Photo Day Specials!

Say cheese!

We’re excited to announce new Camera Specials in celebration of World Photo Day on Sunday August 19! The Specials will be on the map starting August 17 at 00:01 MHQ and will last until August 20 at 23:59 MHQ.

2,009 Camera Specials will bounce on Greenies and Premium Munzees every 6 hours or when captured. The Camera Specials will also be attracted to Magnets on greenies. Players will be able to capture these on their own Greenies and Premium Munzees as well.

Points:  

  • Capture: 100
  • CapOn: 20 on Greenie
  • CapOn: 70 on Premium

Per usual there will be a badge for capping one of the specials, but you never know what other badges you could earn. Since these are CAMERA specials there will also be another special badge you can earn by uploading pictures to munzees throughout the weekend. Remember that placing pictures on munzees is a Premium feature, so this badge will only be able to be earned if you have a Premium Membership.

You can purchase a Premium Membership and Magnets in the Freeze Tag Online Store. We also have a limited number of World Photo Day Personal Tags in the store as well.

What would World Photo Day be without photos though? We want to see your best Munzee photos throughout the weekend on social media. Upload photos you take when playing Munzee using #WorldPhotoDay and #MunzeeOn to be eligible. One winners will be chosen from each of our three social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) and awarded those prizes by the end of next week. We will also have prizes for three photos placed on munzees in the app through the weekend. These winners will also be chosen by the end of next week.

Nomad and RUM Point Updates!

Rover, wanderer, nomad, vagabond, call him what you will…

We call them the Nomad Munzees and they are a big part of our game. Recently we updated the number of Nomads bouncing around our worldwide map. We’re excited to announce that starting NOW we have updated the number of points you receive from capturing one of these elusive little wanderers.

Mystery Nomads will split 500 points between Capture and CapOn.

Regular Nomads, Virtual Nomads, Jewel Thief Nomads, Bellhop Nomads, Pirate Nomads, and Warrior Nomads will all give 500 Capture points and 250 CapOn points.

Do you have trouble collecting these Nomads? Are you interested in building a Nomad landing pad in your area? Today we’ve created a special Nomad Pak that contains all of the options (except clan weapons) for the different Nomads to land on.

Mystery Munzee Point Increase!

If you’ve been paying attention, you may have noticed that we have slowly been rolling out point updates to a variety of different munzee types. We’re excited to announce that Mystery Munzee points are the latest to be updated! Starting NOW the points for Capturing, Deploying and Cap-Ons for Mystery and Mini Mystery Munzees has been increased to the following:

  • Deploy: 60
  • Capture and CapOn: Split 80 with a minimum of 20 as multiples of 5 (20/60, 30/50, 45/35, etc.)

With this point increase comes a merger of Mini Mysteries and Mysteries as well. Moving forward, both will just be called “Mysteries” regardless of their size**. Please note that this point increase is not retroactive, so past deploys and captures will not be increased.

In celebration of the new Mystery Munzee point structure we have a special offer in the Freeze Tag Online Store! From now until Wednesday at 23:59 MHQ if you buy two packs of Mystery Munzees (5 Pack) you’ll be given *additional stickers in each pack! To take advantage of this offer just buy a minimum of 2 Mystery Munzees in the online store, no code is necessary. Each additional set of 2 purchased will receive added free stickers.

The prevailing theory is that all these recent point increases are linked to the development of Munzee 4.0- and you wouldn’t be wrong in thinking that! Others seem to think the point increases are a drive to promote the physical side of Munzee gameplay and we agree with that theory as well! So stay tuned for more information regarding 4.0, point increases and more.

Premium Sale Extended!

We have extended our 10% off sale on Premium Munzee Memberships to Monday at 10:00 MHQ. You can purchase your membership in the Freeze Tag Online Store HERE.

One of the many features available to Premium members is the ability to add photos to the Munzees you capture. This gives both the owner of the Munzee and other players the chance to see how much fun you had finding it! It is especially fun for those myths and alternamyths!

We’ll have some news next week regarding a special photo contest specific to adding photos to Munzees. So you might want to take advantage of the membership while it’s on sale! Again, we’ll have more information next week, but get ready to say cheese!

We’re excited to announce that we have increased the points for Premium Munzees! Starting NOW the points for Capturing, Deploying and Cap-Ons for Premium Munzees has been increased to the following:

  • Deploy: 200
  • Capture: 50
  • CapOn: 50

Remember that you can only receive a Premium Munzee with the purchase of an annual Premium Membership.

We have also extended the Premium badge line as well. So if you have been a Premium Member since we started the program you’ll have the possibility to earn a few more badges. These badges (one for each year of renewal) are retroactive and you can earn them now! They are not actually earned based on number of years as a Premium Member, but instead by the number of Premium Munzees you have deployed. If you have Premium credits in your account, NOW is the time to get them deployed!

To celebrate we are having a Premium Membership sale! Starting NOW Premium Munzee Memberships will be 10% off in the Online store until Friday at 10:00 MHQ. Birthday Events Wrap Up!

Wow, thank you all for keeping me on my toes in July – if I wasn’t cycling up mountains I was busy working on all your events!

There were 77 birthday events across the world and the event indicator pins of those events were captured a total of 2963 times!

We gave away 3,108 new Emeralds that were deployed in new gardens all over the world.

I hope you enjoyed the events, I saw some really great artwork going out and was jealous of some of those cool badges! Thank you as always to Trish, I’m constantly amazed at the standard of her art and creativity!

Introducing The Myth Upgrade!

Birthday Month is nearly over, but we have one final surprise! We’re proud to announce that Myth Upgrades are now available in the Freeze Tag Online Store!

Give your Mythological Munzee a power-up! The Myth Upgrade* is a credit item you can use on any of your Mythological Munzees. Myth Upgrade credits are $5 and you can use one per Myth that you own.

When the credit is used your Myth will then have the ability to be “nudged” to a new Munzee. You can use the nudge feature up to three times a day (MHQ 24 hour day) but only after it has sat for 3 hours. This gives players the opportunity to find it before you send it on its way! Please note that this is different than the way nudges worked with Mermaid release. Starting now Mermaid nudges will work the same way as the Myth Upgrade and they will need to sit for 3 hours before they can be nudged.

The Myth Upgrade will also allow you to rename your old Myths! The name will still retain the unique number, but feel free to get creative and customize your myth’s moniker. Please keep in mind our player code of conduct and family friendly environment!

UPDATE: All Mermaids have been sold.
In celebration of the Myth Upgrade, we’ve also put a handful of Mermaids for sale in the online store. So if you missed out on these gilled gals last month now is your chance! You can find them HERE.

We’ve had an absolute blast of a birthday month and an even better time beating the Texas heat here at MHQ all Summer long. LegaZeeOps- Operation: Evolution

Agents, ZeeOps HQ’s system has been hacked and all of our files on past missions have been erased! You’ll have to recreate past Operations in what we’re calling LegaZeeOps. It’s up to you to keep the legacy of this organization in tact. By completing any Operation this month you’ll earn the “Operation: Evolution” badge, which was previously available in January 2018’s Operations.

Agents, despite Director Zee’s protests, ZeeOps scientists have continued experimenting on Evolution Munzees. The Director doesn’t want anymore surprises, so he has assigned ZeeOps Agents to handle the capture and release of both physical and virtual Evolution test subjects.

With the First Clan and The Rising Sons preparing for war, you’ll need to stay sharp. To keep up your skills, this month will also feature the Mystery Mastery Program. You’ll need to capture and deploy Mystery Munzees of all shapes and sizes to prove you have mastered the Mystery.

August 2018 ZeeOps Operations are now live and you can begin planning your Missions to start on the following day. You can plan your Operations at munzee.com/ops/ and purchase more ZeeCred in the Munzee Online Store. You can also track your Missions in the new Munzee app update.

By completing any Operation this month you’ll earn the “Operation: Evolution” badge.

This month’s Missions are as follows:

LEVEL 1:

Basic Training + – Earn at least 1,000 points.
Defensive Training– Deploy at least 10 munzees.
Offensive Training– Capture at least 25 munzees.
Mystery Mastery Program I– Capture at least 10 Mystery Munzees.*
Re: Evolutionary Studies- Capture at least 15 physical or virtual Evolution Munzees

LEVEL 2:

Group Training + – Earn at least 1,000 cap-on points.
Virtual Surreality– Capture at least 100 virtual munzees of any type.
