Flat Day The 13th Part 4: Left 4 Zeds

Last week was pretty wholesome with #NationalDiscGolfDay celebrations, so we bet you didn’t expect something on the opposite end of the spectrum so soon! This year for Flat Day the 13th, things are a little different as we’re introducing a permanent game piece instead of a bouncing special, so make sure to read all the details below!

NEW Nomad!

13 NEW Jason 4Zees Nomads have been unleashed on the map. Unlike other nomads, they will bounce every 6 hours or when captured.

Landing Pads:

  • All non-bouncing Flat Munzees:
    • Flat Friends:
      • Flat Rob
      • Flat Matt
      • Flat Lou
      • Flat Hammock
    • Flat Objects:
      • Flat DHS
      • Flat Disc Golf Basket

Points:

  • Capture: 513
  • CapOn (for host owner): 250

Additionally, the Jason 4Zees Nomads will scatter up to 3 NEW Killer Masks nearby when it is captured!

The Killer Mask will only be visible to the player who captured the Jason 4Zees Nomad and will scatter like Feathers! This means there are no CapOn points but you have thrilling results at stake:

  • Bad Result: lose 13 points
  • Good Result: 31 points and 13 Zeds

They’ll stay on the map for 2 hours after scattering. The capture radius is 300 feet for these. You won’t be able to use Rover Treats to capture them — Rover knows when he’s outmatched.

There will be 1 badge for unmasking Jason 4Zees. Since there’s only the 1 badge in this line, we want to keep it a secret for now. Jason 4Zees captures will also count toward the Nomad Munzee Badge Line.

Limited Edition Badges

Other than the badge specifically for Jason 4Zees mentioned above, which will always be attainable as Nomads are permanent game pieces, there are 3 badges that will only be available from Thursday, August 12th at 12:00 MHQ through Monday, August 16th at 12:00 MHQ.

No Discs? No Problem! Flat Disc Golf Baskets Will Provide For a Limited Time!

National Disc Golf Day is coming up this Saturday, so we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to have some fun with Robbie’s Flat Disc Golf Basket!

Limited Time Scatter Details

From the period of Friday, August 6th at 15:00 MHQ through Monday, August 9th at 23:59 MHQ, when you capture a Flat Disc Golf Basket, up to 3 Discs may be scattered nearby!

The Discs will be visible to any player and will be deployed on the Flat Disc Golf Basket owner’s account. This means that unlike Feathers/Boulders, there are CapOn points for the owner! They expire after 120 minutes, have a capture radius of 300 feet, and you’ll be able to use Rover Treats to capture them as well! These disc scatters will NOT count for deploy streaks, ZeeOps, or clan activity since they are passive deploys.

The rewards for Discs are as follows:

  • Putter Disc
    • Capture: 25 points
    • CapOn: 15 points
  • Mid-Range Disc
    • Capture: 50 points
    • CapOn: 25 points
  • Driver Disc
    • Capture: 75 points
    • CapOn: 35 points

Collect Commemorative Scatters with the Time Capzule!

UPDATE: The Time Capzule will be removed from the store at the end of the month, so that everyone who owns a Time Capzule will have had the chance to cap ALL 10 monthly scatters!

Did you catch the hint Rob dropped at the end of the Award Ceremony? You may recall that he mentioned we’re not having an MHQ Bash this year, but are instead moving it to 10 months from now (May 2022), if the world situation at that time allows (knock on wood!). He also mentioned something to help you remember the fun moments from the past 10 years (or clue you in, if you’re a new player!) to build up the anticipation for this delayed Bash. Behold the Time Capzule!

Time Capzule Details

The Time Capzule is a virtual munzee similar to the past Mailbox game pieces. When you deploy it nearby it will only be visible to AND cappable by you. IT MUST BE DEPLOYED IN APP! To ensure that you are able to capture it each month, you’ll also be able to update its location if you’ll be traveling at any point during the Time Capzule period. You can only move the Time Capzule in app and do NOT need to undeploy first. We really don’t want you to miss out! It is very important you capture it each month.

The Time Capzule is worth 1,000 deploy points and 100 capture points. It can be captured up to 1000 feet away and is found under the Virtuals filter but ONLY visible to the OWNER. It will be archived after your final monthly capture in May 2022.

It is currently available in the Freeze Tag Store for $10.

Monthly Scatters

Every month when the Time Capzule is captured, 10 NEW Munzee Memoreez will be scattered nearby! These will all have the same icon. For this month, the scatters are the 2011 Munzee Memoreez: Coinz.

These will only be visible to the Time Capzule owner and will scatter like Feathers. This means there are no CapOn points but they are worth 100 points for capture! They’ll stay on the map for 36 hours after scattering, so that should give you ample time to collect them all! The capture radius is 500 feet for these, and you’ll be able to use Rover Treats to capture them as well!

To access these specials, please turn on your “All Expiring Specials” and “All Limited Edition Specials” filters.

Badges

Deploying a Time Capzule will earn you the Time Flyz badge. You can see what this badge looks like below.

There is also a line of capture badges that you can earn for Munzee Memoreez captures! You can see the first badge in this line below.

10th Birthday Mailbox Tier 3 Day 31: Search for the Golden Stopwatch!

Tier 3 10th Birthday Mailbox members have one last surprise! Much like the earlier Golden Pegasus Hunt, upon capturing your 10th Birthday Mailbox, a set of Stopwatches will scatter nearby! To reiterate, the mailbox must be capped on July 31st 00:01-23:59 MHQ time to deploy the Stopwatches. They’ll stay on the map for 36 hours after scattering, so that should give you ample time to collect them all! The capture radius is 500 feet for these, and you’ll be able to use Rover Treats to capture them as well!

A total of 10 Stopwatch specials will be unleashed! These will only be visible to the 10th Birthday Mailbox owner and will scatter like Feathers. This means there are no CapOn points but they are worth 100 points for capture!

Though there will only be one icon shown on the map, there is guaranteed to be 1 special Golden Stopwatch with a different icon that will not be visible until captured, similar to how the Greeting Cards work. The Golden Stopwatch is worth 1,000 points for capture!!!

To access these specials, please turn on your “All Expiring Specials” and “All Limited Edition Specials” filters.

Badge

There will be 1 badge for finding the Golden Stopwatch. Since there’s only the 1 badge in this line, we want to keep it a secret for now. Hopefully it shouldn’t be too tough for you to get!

August 2021 Clan Wars Requirements

It’s almost August! You’ll find all the latest details to our clan requirements and rewards in the clan section of our app. There have been a few issues with activity not counting for some players in the opening minutes of the clan war. Please be sure to give our servers a bit of time to switch from Clan Wars OFF to Clan Wars ON. 🙂 This will ease frustration, just 10 or 15 minutes will make all the difference. We’re happy everyone is so anxious to get started on the 3rd of each month!

It is possible that we could update clan requirements prior to August 3 and reserve the right to do so. The final requirements and rewards will always be shown in the app. All of this is up in the air based on how situations continue to change worldwide based on COVID-19.

August ClanPak

In June, we introduced the ClanPak! While MunzPaks started as a product to aid in Clan Wars, they have transitioned over time. Sometimes you may need a few things to help meet Clan War Requirements, (i.e. magnets, QRowbars, etc.) and reach your goals.

There is a limit of one per player per product/month. You can purchase the August ClanPak HERE! This is NOT a subscription program.

August Badges

Your Clan can earn monthly badges to earn for reaching distinct levels of Clan Wars each month. You won’t be able to earn a badge until the entire clan has reached the specified level. Since there is NO Level X this month, there will be a total of 5 badges available in August. The first badge will appear as follows:

Shield Teaser

As you can tell from the pin image, the Shield will be a new virtual Clan Weapon. They will be available soon in the Redeem Store so you can decide for yourself whether you’d like to stock up on them. Keep an eye out for any future announcements with more details on this game piece!

Overall Clan Notes:

Please keep in mind Levels 4 & 5 are considered advanced gameplay and not recommended for brand new players. Be aware when allowing new players to join your clans. QRew/ZeeQRew status will be required for any clans earning levels 4 & 5. See qualifications for ZeeQRew here. If you are not a member on August 1st you will not be able to qualify until August 15th. If you lose qualification before the 15th you will not be able to qualify until September 1st.

Bouncer captures include any POB, MOB, or TOB (even the temporary POB)

NEW* Claimed QRates will not carry over from before the clan battle starts. The QRate must be found, opened, and claimed during the month of the current clan battle.

Total points include Cap, Deploy, and CapOn of all types.

Munzee Toolkit MunzDay: LindaH417

One of the best parts about Munzee is that you can play how you want. Everyone goes about playing a bit differently, and that leads to some very creative and innovative uses of objects. From containers to bags to maintenance, we always encounter something new when we meet players. We want to showcase your Munzee Toolkits to see how you play the game and possibly even inspire other players who may need help!

The week’s featured Munzee Toolkit comes to us from LindaH417, who hails from Aurora, IL. She started playing Munzee over 3 years ago, but it feels like she’s been playing for much longer — we always see her participating in our Eventzee hunts and other virtual activities! Read on to discover her essentials!

LindaH417 Toolkit

My Father brought me into munzee in March 2018 and I fell in love with the game immediately.

No matter where I go, my munzee kit comes with me. I have 2 different shoulder bags that I use and both have many pockets and quite a bit of room, just depends on if I’m out and about, or going to a munzee event.

My Kit consists of:

  • 5 containers of different munzees
  • 1 brand new container with munzees that I will give out to someone I meet if they are really interested in the game
  • I have wipes, hand sanitizer, and a munzee mask if needed
  • Scissors and a flash light
    • I carry scissors because in one case I have quite a few rows of greenies. The flashlight comes in handy if it’s dark and I shine it on the munzee and cap.
  • My Personals and my munzee name tag and a screen cloth
  • Also my iPod Touch, comes in handy if I can’t reach a munzee, I’ll take a picture and cap it that way
  • I also have a mirror and a small ice scraper.
    • The mirror comes in handy when munzees are place in odd areas and the phone won’t fit. The small scraper works perfect in winter when you need to scrape ice off a munzee to cap.

I love to travel to areas to cap, and deploy, McKinney Texas, Minneapolis and Florida are on my Bucket list.

I’m known to cap something no matter what, I’ve crawled under sun dials in the snow, I climbed a 5 foot snow bank, as I was capping the munzee the snow underneath me started to give so I jumped and rolled down to the bottom ?
If I see a special nearby at 1 in the morning, I grab my keys and in my pjs out I go!!

July Garden Gnome Reminder + August Preview!

As the month comes to a close, we wanted to make sure you were heading into August with your desired Garden Gnomes! The skin for completing your July capture streak (and the corresponding badge) will be awarded in early August, but we couldn’t wait to share what’s in store!

July Garden Gnome Reminders

If you haven’t picked up a Garden Gnome yet, they are available in the Freeze Tag Store for $6.

Each month, the price of a Garden Gnome will decrease by $1. However, players can only purchase 1 Garden Gnome every 28 days.

If you’re planning to complete the capture streaks for each month (and made the initial purchase in January) you’ll have 12 different skins to choose from! So be sure to purchase one each month so you can have a complete bench of these athletic Garden Gnomes!

August Garden Gnome Details

What Gnome Skin can you look forward to receiving in August? The all-rounder Cricket Garden Gnome! Like the other gnomes, the Cricket Garden Gnome is a temporary POB that will remain on the map until 23:59 MHQ on December 31.

As stated earlier, to earn this skin, you’ll need to have completed this month’s (July’s) capture streak. Once the skin is awarded in August, you can change the skin on the gnome to this one at any point — refer to our original blog post for the instructions!

Points

  • Capture: 250
  • CapOn: 300

You can find these brawny batters sprinting to the following landing pads every 6 hours or when captured:

Additionally, the Cricket Garden Gnome will scatter up to 3 NEW Gnome Club Caps nearby when it is captured!

Like the other Gnome Hats, the Gnome Club Cap will be visible to any player and will be deployed on the Gnome owner’s account. This means that unlike Feathers/Boulders, there are CapOn points for the owner! They expire after 120 minutes and have a capture radius of 300 feet. These hat scatters will NOT count for deploy streaks, ZeeOps, or clan activity since they are passive deploys.

The rewards for Gnome Hats are as follows:

  • Capture: 50 points
  • CapOn: 50 points

The Cricket Garden Gnome will be available for multi-capture. That means players can capture Cricket Garden Gnomes on their own munzees, any previously captured munzees, and more than once if the same Cricket Garden Gnome visits you. Cricket Garden Gnomes are non-blastable. They will be attracted to both Physical Magnets and Virtual Magnets. You can access Cricket Garden Gnomes by turning on your “All Limited Edition Specials” and “All Expiring Specials” filters.

Badges

As a reminder, Garden Gnomes have 4 associated badge lines:

  • Unique type deploy badges — you’ll need to earn each month’s skin by keeping your streak up!
  • Overall deploy badges — the more gnomes you deploy, the merrier!
  • Unique type capture badges — capture at least 1 of each skinned gnome!
  • Overall capture badges — capture as many gnomes as you can find!

While we revealed images for the first of each badge line in the original post, we are happy to show you the “Unique type deploy” and “Unique type capture” badges associated with the Cricket Garden Gnome:

Secret ZeeOps- Operation: QRypt Capper (July 2021)

All caught up with Secret ZeeOps and looking for more? Here’s a new one available in the ZeeOps Hub for a discounted cost of 1,000 Zeds (normally Secret ZeeOps cost 1,500 Zeds)! For now, it will be available for purchase until 23:59 MHQ on July 31, but will likely return in the future at the usual cost. The past Secret ZeeOps will also be removed from the ZeeOps Hub at the end of July. However, if you’ve already purchased any of those Secret ZeeOps, you will be able to complete it and collect rewards even after it is no longer available for purchase.

Can you navigate through a labyrinthine pyramid to prevent a curse from being unleashed? If you complete ALL the missions in Operation: QRypt Capper, you’ll receive the snazzy badge below, along with the S4RC0PH4GUS Munzee (more info below!) and various other rewards listed in the app!

There are 4 levels. Level 1 has 1 mission, Level 2 has 2 missions, Level 3 has 3 missions, and Level 4 has 4 missions. Each level ends with more prizes.

We may share this information moving forward with other Operations but possibly not.

S4RC0PH4GUS Details

The S4RC0PH4GUS is unique in that after its 5th capture, it will be archived and trigger the deploy of a new MUMM33 tPOB AND up to 3 SC4RAB scatters. If you’re lucky, SC4RABs can award points and a few Zeds — but on the other side of the coin, you may lose a few points. As the MUMM33 and SC4RAB will be deployed on the S4RC0PH4GUS owner’s account, there are CapOn rewards for the owner! You can get the full details in our Help Guide article HERE!

Please note that capping the S4RC0PH4GUS will NOT count towards the Daily ZeeOps mission “Capture any Munzee that scatters other Munzees” as it only scatters on the 5th capture.

10th Birthday Mailbox Tiers 2 & 3 Day 14: Seek Out the Golden Unicorn Sprinkles!

Tiers 2 & 3 10th Birthday Mailbox members have their own exclusive hunt! Much like the earlier Golden Pegasus Hunt, upon capturing your 10th Birthday Mailbox, an assortment of Cupcake Sprinkles will scatter nearby! To reiterate, the mailbox must be capped on July 14th 00:01-23:59 MHQ time to deploy the Cupcake Sprinkles. They’ll stay on the map for 36 hours after scattering, so that should give you ample time to collect them all! The capture radius is 500 feet for these, and you’ll be able to use Rover Treats to capture them as well!

A total of 10 Cupcake Sprinkles specials will be unleashed! These will only be visible to the 10th Birthday Mailbox owner and will scatter like Feathers. This means there are no CapOn points but they are worth 100 points for capture!

Though there will only be one icon shown on the map, there is guaranteed to be 1 special Golden Unicorn Sprinkles with a different icon that will not be visible until captured, similar to how the Greeting Cards work. The Golden Unicorn Sprinkles are worth 250 points for capture.

To access these specials, please turn on your “All Expiring Specials” and “All Limited Edition Specials” filters.

There will be 1 badge for finding the Golden Unicorn Sprinkles. Since there’s only the 1 badge in this line, we want to keep it a secret for now. Hopefully it shouldn’t be too tough for you to get!

Birthday QRates in the Wild?!

Nine days ago, we revealed what was waiting inside the Birthday Qrate for Tier 3 10th Birthday Mailbox members — the MechaniC4K3! It definitely caught your attention with its high deploy points, and we were happy to see it was an enjoyable surprise! Of course, we didn’t want to leave the rest of the players out indefinitely, so we thought it would be nice to release the Blueprints (just the Blueprints, no auto-deployed tPOB) in a slightly different Birthday QRate for all!

  • It will require an empty slot to be found — the 10th Birthday Mailbox’s Birthday QRate came with a temporary slot, if all your slots were full
  • It will require 100 physical munzee captures to open — the 10th Birthday Mailbox’s Birthday QRate only required 25 captures
  • Upon opening the QRate, there is a chance to receive the MechaniC4K3 Blueprint, but it is NOT guaranteed — the 10th Birthday Mailbox’s Birthday QRate is guaranteed to deploy a fully-built MechaniC4K3 AND award the Blueprint
    • Other prizes in the prize pool include a previously unreleased Cubimal, and 5-packs of certain Greeting Cards
    • If you already own the MechaniC4K3 Blueprint (i.e. if you are a Tier 3 10th Birthday Mailbox member) you will receive one of the other prizes
