NEW Limited-Time Credits are the Real Deal!

— UPDATE: As of 3/3/22 12:00 MHQ — The new tab in the Redeem Store is now live! Put those Sham Rocks to work!

You’ve heard of Candy Corn Credits and C04L Credits — now get ready for Sham Rock Credits!  After reviewing the activity on C04L Credits and making some improvements (we hope ?) we’ve created a new limited-time credit for you to earn and redeem!

Like Jewel Shards, Weapon Shards, and Cogs, you’ll be able to redeem Sham Rock Credits (SRC) at the Redeem Store for game pieces. However, similar to Candy Corn Credits and C04L Credits, they can only be redeemed until 02:30 MHQ on Sunday, April 3rd (when April Clan Wars starts).

How to Earn Sham Rock Credits

Sham Rock Credits can be earned from 00:01 MHQ on Tuesday, March 1st to 23:59 MHQ on Thursday, March 31st.

You can earn them the following ways:

  • Chance to earn 1 SRC upon capturing a tPOB
  • Chance to earn 1 SRC upon capturing a Destination
  • Chance to earn 1 SRC upon capturing Shamrocks (both Physical + Virtual)
  • Chance to earn 1 SRC upon capturing Emeralds
  • Chance to earn 1 SRC upon capturing a St. Patrick’s Day Greeting Card
    • Owners of these cards will also have a chance to receive SRC
  • Chance to earn 1 SRC upon capturing an Event Pin (excluding the Event Indicator Pin)
  • Chance to earn 3/4/5 SRC (dependent on type) upon opening a QRate
  • Guaranteed to earn 1 – 3 SRC upon capturing certain MOBs we’ll release next week!
  • — UPDATE: As of 3/9/22 12:00 MHQ — Chance to earn 1 SRC upon capturing a St. Patrick’s Day skinned Myth.

Goodies You Can Get With Sham Rock Credits

As usual, the most up-to-date list of what’s available will be what you see on munzee.com/redeem. Like the tabs for C04L Credits, you’ll only be able to redeem items in the “Week 1” tab during Week 1, after which, only the “Week 2” tab will be visible until Week 3, and so on. So make sure to spend your credits each week!

The rewards/rates may change from time to time, but to start off with, this is what we have planned:

ZEE-Dayz Coming Soon!

As mentioned in our social posts, expect a ZEE-Dayz event kicking off Thursday at 12:00 MHQ! Physical and Virtual Shamrock Munzees will see TRIPLE their normal point values, plus a special badge and sale!

Pizza My Heart Specials for Food Lovers Everywhere!

While the V-Mailbox is sure to excite and amuse once it kicks off on Valentine’s Day, we wanted to give everyone something to chew on until then. Since today is National Pizza Day, creating specials celebrating one of our beloved foods was a no-brainer!

Pizza My Heart specials are now live on the map for everyone and will remain available until March 6 at 23:59 MHQ. You can use the “All Expiring Specials” and “All Limited Edition Specials” filters to more easily view them on the map. There are quite a few different specials, so check out a breakdown of each below!

Pizza My Heart Specials

These specials will be released in waves, ending at a total of 1,229 Pizza My Heart Specials available for capture on the map — that breaks down to 100 of each ingredient except for Pepperoni, of which there are only 29. Since Pepperoni were so popular in our latest React Poll, the demand means there’s less to go around. Pizza My Heart Specials are attracted to either Physical or Virtual Magnets depending on their type. None of these specials are blastable.

Badges

There are two lines of badges related to Pizza My Heart specials.

The first line is based on overall Pizza My Heart captures. These badges will give you all of the tools you need to run a successful pizzeria! The first badge in this line depicts a pizza box earned by capping any ingredient!

The second line of badges is based on capping different combinations of Pizza My Heart specials, similar to last year’s World Sushi Day specials. Make sure to cap at least one of each special so you can try each type of pizza!

National Hat Day Specials + a Cap-tivating ZEE-Dayz!

We had a mini ZEE-Dayz at the start of the month to tide everyone over as we caught up on e-mails and other tasks coming back from the holidays — but we also prepped a full-sized ZEE-Dayz to go along with some new MOBs! Read on for everything you need to know!

National Hat Day Specials

Since it’s National Hat Day tomorrow, starting at 12:00 MHQ today, Hats will bounce around the map until 23:59 MHQ on February 6th.

The various hat styles will be released in waves, but will end at a total of 100 each. In addition, more hats will appear as the month goes on, so make sure to keep an eye out! They will bounce around on the map every 4 hours or when captured. You can find National Hat Day specials at the following munzees near you:

Points

  • Capture: 150 points
  • CapOn: 50 points

National Hat Day specials will be attracted to Magnets. To access these specials, please turn on your “All Expiring Specials” and “All Limited Edition Specials” filters.

Limited Time Scatter Details

From the period of Friday, January 14th at 12:00 MHQ through Sunday, January 16th at 23:59 MHQ, when you capture a Flat Rob OR Fancy Flat Rob, up to 3 Flat Hats may be scattered nearby!

The Flat Hats will be visible to any player and will be deployed on the Flat Rob or Fancy Flat Rob owner’s account. This means that unlike Feathers/Boulders, there are CapOn points for the owner! They expire after 120 minutes and have a capture radius of 300 feet. These flat hat scatters will NOT count for deploy streaks, ZeeOps, or clan activity since they are passive deploys.

The rewards for Flat Hats are as follows:

  • Capture: 50 points
  • CapOn: 25 points

Flat Rob Discount!

Need more Flat Robs near you? We’ve got a “Buy 2, Get 1 Free” discount at the Freeze Tag Store! You must add 3 Flat Robs to your cart to use it, and are limited to 2 uses per order (in other words — put 6 in the cart, pay for 4, 2 are free).

There is NO CODE required — the discount should apply automatically! It will be valid for the same time period as the scatters mentioned above.

Double Points Details

From the period of Friday, January 14th at 12:00 MHQ through Sunday, January 16th at 23:59 MHQ (same period as Flat Hat scatters), enjoy double points on ALL Gnome Hats!

Please note that the image above shows most, but not all of the Gnome Hats — it is just for illustrative purposes, so even if a Gnome Hat is not in the image, it should still be worth double points during the period stated above.

Badges

There will be four badges to earn for National Hat Day specials. Three of them will require you to capture a certain number of these specials. The final badge requires you to capture each of the Hats that are released! You can see the first badge below.

As for Flat Rob and Fancy Flat Rob scatters, there are two badges to earn during the period stated above. Make sure you cap as many Flat Hats as you can to receive both badges shown below!

It’s up to you to find the hats for the remaining 3 badges! Cap as many of these specials as you can to set yourself up for success!

Light Up the Map This Week with the Flat Flashlight!

This is probably a busy week for many of you, but just in case you found yourself with some extra time you’d like to spend Munzee-ing, we thought we’d create this small special event that is open to all!

National Flashlight Day is TODAY, so we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to have some fun with Tamara’s Flat Flashlight!

Limited Time Scatter Details

From the period of Tuesday, December 21st at 12:00 MHQ through Sunday, December 26th at 23:59 MHQ, when you capture a Flat Flashlight, up to 3 Themed Flashlights may be scattered nearby!

The Flashlights will be visible to any player and will be deployed on the Flat Flashlight owner’s account. This means that unlike Feathers/Boulders, there are CapOn points for the owner! They expire after 120 minutes, have a capture radius of 300 feet, and you’ll be able to use Rover Treats to capture them as well! These flashlight scatters will NOT count for deploy streaks, ZeeOps, or clan activity since they are passive deploys.

The rewards for Themed Flashlights are as follows:

  • Capture: 50 points
  • CapOn: 25 points

You’re a Mean One, Mr. GWRENCH!

Since Munzee is all about playing your way, we like to give you options. Maybe Sir Prize Santa isn’t your thing, so you don’t have a TR33 TOPP3R. Maybe it’ll take a while for you to earn enough CO4L for a LOC04LMOTIVE. But what if you want a new Christmas Combat Mech running around? After all, they are worth DOUBLE POINTS the entire month, AND they also can potentially award CO4L. If this sounds like you, read on to find out more about our latest Mech! But first… a quick update we wanted to share!

Mech Update!

If you are the one to take down a Mech — in other words, you are the last one to cap it before it is archived — you will receive 1 Cog! This will start just shortly after the release of this blog, at around 12:15 MHQ. It is live now — 10 minutes earlier than we thought!

This update applies to ALL Mechz, not just Christmas Combat Mechz, and is a permanent change. We wanted to make it a little more rewarding to hunt them down, and also a little easier to build more of your own! Maybe even the Mech we’ll introduce you to now?

GWRENCH Details

Like the other Munzee Mechz, the GWRENCH is a temporary POB that will remain on the map until it has been captured 5 times. In addition, as a Christmas Combat Mech, upon capture you have the chance to earn 1 – 3 CO4L Credits. If you’d like to add it to your collection, you can pick it up in the Freeze Tag Store HERE. You will receive a fully-built GWRENCH that will auto-deploy upon purchase, plus the Greenprint to rebuild it when you have earned enough Cogs in the future.

Points

  • Deploy: 500
  • Capture: 350
  • CapOn: 150
  • Combust (5th Cap): 425

You can find these KrampBot cousins creeping to the following landing pads every 4 hours or when captured:

GWRENCHes will be available for multi-capture. That means players can capture GWRENCHes on their own munzees, any previously captured munzees, and more than once if the same GWRENCH visits you. GWRENCHes are non-blastable. They will be attracted to both Physical Magnets and Virtual Magnets. You can access GWRENCHes by turning on your “All Expiring Specials” filter.

When a GWRENCH is captured, it will scatter up to 3 WR3NCHs.

These will scatter like feathers so there are no CapOn points but they are worth 100 points for capture — if you’re lucky! If not, you may lose 10 points instead. They expire after 240 minutes, have a capture radius of 300 feet, and you’ll be able to use Rover Treats to capture them as well.

Badges

Deploying a GWRENCH will earn you the corresponding Greenprint badge, which you can see below.

In addition, captures of the GWRENCH and the WR3NCH will also go toward the same line of capture badges that you can earn for LOC04LMOTIVE, TR33 TOPP3R, and N1NJ4 ST4R captures! It’s possible that this line may include other types we release in the future.

CO4L Credits Burning a Hole in Your Pocket?

In our first CO4L Credits post, we mentioned that another tab in the Redeem Store would appear later on. As planned, this tab contains items that will remain available through 02:30 MHQ on Monday, January 3rd (the expiration date we had set for CO4L Credits) — so you don’t need to worry about them going away like the items in the [Christmas (Week X)] tab! Currently there’s only one item in there right now, so here’s everything you need to know!

LOC04LMOTIVE Details

Like the other Munzee Mechz, the LOC04LMOTIVE is a temporary POB that will remain on the map until it has been captured 5 times. In addition, as a Christmas Combat Mech, upon capture you have the chance to earn 1 – 3 CO4L Credits. At 12:00 MHQ today, it was made available in the Redeem Store in the [Christmas Surprises] tab for 25 CC. If you decide to make the trade, a LOC04LMOTIVE will be automatically deployed on your account at once! You will also receive the Blueprint to rebuild it when you have earned enough Cogs in the future.

Points

  • Deploy: 804
  • Capture: 150-250
  • CapOn: 104-304
  • Overheat (5th Cap): 500

You can find these hot wheels blazing to the following landing pads every 6 hours or when captured:

LOC04LMOTIVEs will be available for multi-capture. That means players can capture LOC04LMOTIVEs on their own munzees, any previously captured munzees, and more than once if the same LOC04LMOTIVE visits you. LOC04LMOTIVEs are non-blastable. Collect CO4L and Other Goodies in Christmas Crackers!

Having trouble collecting CO4L? We promised to release some MOBs that should make the task MUCH easier, so here they are now! Starting at 12:00 MHQ on December 7th, Christmas Cracker specials will bounce around the map until 23:59 MHQ on January 2nd.

Christmas Cracker Specials

These poppin’ packages will be released in waves, but will end at a total of 500 Holly Christmas Crackers and 500 Jolly Christmas Crackers. They will bounce around on the map every 4 hours or when captured. You can find Christmas Cracker specials at the following munzees near you:

Holly Christmas Crackers will be attracted to Physical Magnets, while Jolly Christmas Crackers will be attracted to Virtual Magnets. To access these specials, please turn on your “All Expiring Specials” and “All Limited Edition Specials” filters.

When you capture a Christmas Cracker, you will receive:

  • 1 – 3 CO4L Credits
  • A random item inside, revealed similarly to the 1st/2nd/3rd Place Results of the #WorldBicycleDay specials or the catches from the Go Fishing specials.
    • At launch you can expect to see the Orange, Green and Blue Party Hats from Holly Christmas Crackers, and the Purple, Yellow, and Red Party Hats from the Jolly Christmas Crackers.
      • The rare Unicorn Party Hat can be found in both!
  • A random amount of points — rarer items will be worth more! However, they will always award 25 points for CapOn.

More items will appear as the month goes on, so make sure to keep an eye out! They won’t be party hats — we want to add some variety! However, this first week is your best chance at finding the Unicorn Party Hat as there are less items in the pools.

There will be five badges to earn for these specials. Three are based on the total number of Christmas Cracker specials you capture, but just how many captures it takes to earn all 3 badges will be kept a secret! The remaining 2 badges are based on receiving at least 1 of each of the different Christmas Cracker items. You can see the first badge below:

Marathon Classic Movies this Weekend with the Flat DHS!

World Television Day is coming up this Sunday, so we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to have some fun with Dylan’s Flat DHS!

Limited Time Scatter Details

From the period of Friday, November 19th at 12:00 MHQ through Monday, November 22nd at 12:00 MHQ, when you capture a Flat DHS, up to 3 Tapes may be scattered nearby!

The Tapes will be visible to any player and will be deployed on the Flat DHS owner’s account. This means that unlike Feathers/Boulders, there are CapOn points for the owner! They expire after 120 minutes, have a capture radius of 300 feet, and you’ll be able to use Rover Treats to capture them as well! These tape scatters will NOT count for deploy streaks, ZeeOps, or clan activity since they are passive deploys.

The rewards for Tapes are as follows:

  • Capture: 50 points
  • CapOn: 25 points

Tongue Tied Specials To Touch Up Your Utterances — Say That 10 Times Fast!

Last month, we asked about some of your favorite tongue twisters to draw inspiration from to help us celebrate the upcoming International Tongue Twister Day! We chose to feature tongue twisters that we thought would translate well into Munzee pins! Starting at 12:00 MHQ on November 4th, Tongue Tied specials will bounce around the map until 23:59 MHQ on November 30th.

Tongue Tied Specials

These muddled muscles will be released in waves, but will end at a total of 400 Mega Mouthfuls and 400 Tongue Twisters. They will bounce around on the map every 4 hours or when captured. You can find Tongue Tied specials at the following munzees near you:

    • Places:
      • Library
      • University
      • Historical
      • Museum
      • Airport
    • Virtual RUMs

Both will be worth 150 points for the Capture and 50 points for the CapOn, so you don’t want to miss out! Mega Mouthfuls will be attracted to Physical Magnets, while Tongue Twisters will be attracted to Virtual Magnets. To access these specials, please turn on your “All Expiring Specials” and “All Limited Edition Specials” filters.

When you capture a Tongue Tied special, up to three virtual munzees will scatter nearby, like Feathers. These scatters are based on a variety of different tongue twisting phrases from around the world. These munzees will stay on the map for 4 hours or when captured, and will be worth 50 points as well.

At launch you can expect to see the following:

  • Scatters from Mega Mouthfuls:
    • Woodchuck Wood
    • Baby Bubbles
  • Scatters from Tongue Twisters
    • She Shells
    • Fresh Fish

More scatters will appear as the month goes on, so make sure to keep an eye out!

Five are based on the total number of Tongue Tied specials you capture, but just how many captures it takes to earn all 5 badges will be kept a secret! The remaining badge is based on capturing each of the different Tongue Tied scatters as they appear in the wild. You can see the first badge below:
