🐬 January 2025 GOTM Winners 🐦

As the new year begins, we’re thrilled to announce the first Garden of the Month (GOTM) winners for 2025! Last month, we announced that we were kicking of the year with the theme of ‘Call of the Wild,’ inviting players to design gardens inspired by nature, animals, and wilderness adventures. It was incredible to see your creativity unleashed and the map come alive with stunning natural motifs. Don’t forget to use the CuppaZee Gardens Tool to start designing your own gardens or discover new ones to deploy in—it’s an essential resource for GOTM fun and inspiration!

We’re also excited to share that we’ve refreshed the designs of the GOTM Winner badges! This month marks the first time the new designs will be awarded—a special treat for our amazing community of designers and participants.

Step into the kitchen and meet the MunzShrooms! These culinary cuties are the newest monthly streak bouncers, ready to whip up some fun in 2025. Each month you maintain your streak, you’ll unlock a delicious new chef-inspired skin for your MunzShroom. Start your collection TODAY by grabbing a base MunzShroom from the Freeze Tag Store and get ready to cook up some excitement!

MunzShroom Details

The MunzShroom is a temporary POB that will remain on the map until 23:59 MHQ on January 31st, 2026. It is currently available in the Freeze Tag Store for $12, and each month its price will decrease by $1. You can purchase 1 MunzShroom every 28 days. If you own at least 8 temporary MunzShrooms at the end of the year, you’ll be able to keep a permanent one going into (and beyond) February 2026! Plus you can continue using all the skins you’ve collected each month!

Like last year, you will have to keep your streak up in January to receive the first skin (the PizzeRia MunzShroom shown above) in February. The pattern continues for the remaining months — if you keep up your capture streak for an entire month, you will receive the skin for it the next month. You can change the skin on these at any point (more info below!) as long as you have earned it.

Additionally, when a MunzShroom has an upgraded skin, up to 3 NEW Mushroom Recipes may be scattered nearby when it is captured! For instance, when a MunzShroom has a PizzeRia skin it will scatter MunzShroom Pizzas nearby.

The MunzShroom scatters will be visible to any player and will be deployed on the bouncer owner’s account. This means that unlike Air Mystery Feathers/Boulders, there are CapOn points for the owner! They expire after 120 minutes and have a capture radius of 300 feet. These scatters will NOT count for deploy streaks, ZeeOps, or clan activity since they are passive deploys.

• CapOn: 50

MunzShrooms of ANY type will be available for multi-capture. That means players can capture MunzShrooms on their own munzees, any previously captured munzees, and more than once if the same MunzShroom visits you. MunzShrooms are non-blastable. They will be attracted to both Physical Magnets and Virtual Magnets. You can access MunzShrooms by turning on your “All Limited Edition Specials” and “All Expiring Specials” filters.

How to Change Skins

The process is the same as it has been for the past few years, so we won’t take up your time with the instructions!

However, if you are a little rusty — or if perhaps, you’re a new player(!) — you can refer to our Help Guide article HERE!

Badges

MunzShrooms have 4 associated badge lines:

• Unique type deploy badges — you’ll need to earn each month’s skin by keeping your streak up!
• Overall deploy badges — the more mushroom chefs you deploy, the merrier!
• Unique type capture badges — capture at least 1 of each skinned MunzShroom!
• Overall capture badges — capture as many MunzShrooms as you can find!

You can see the first of each badge line below, except for the Overall deploy badge line — we’ll reveal that next month!

If you complete the capture streaks for each month (and make the initial purchase in January) you’ll have 12 different skins to choose from! So be sure to purchase one each month so you can have a complete set of these carefully hatched MunzShrooms!

With your dedication and streaks, these culinary cuties will turn the Munzee map into a feast of fun in no time!
