2023 Perfect Host + Perfect Attendee Event Bouncers!

Munzee Events were a huge success last year thanks to all of our wonderful hosts and exuberant attendees! Although we may have shifted away from the monthly event format for 2024, we’re still so proud of all the hard work you all put into making 2023 such a successful year. In celebration of those who went above and beyond we’ve prepared some party favors as a reward!

We’ve created exclusive Balloon Bouncers for Perfect Hosts — those who’ve hosted a Monthly Munzee Event every month this year — and Perfect Attendees — those who’ve attended a Monthly Munzee Event every month this year. These bouncers should be auto-deployed on your account, along with the badges, which you can see below. Read on to find out more!

Balloon Bouncer Details

Bouncing off of our balloons theme for Munzee Events in 2023, we’re awarding new balloon bouncers each filled, twisted, and tied into party poppin’ pets! To show our appreciation to the Perfect Attendees, we’ve crafted this fun, lovable balloon animal after man’s best friend – the Balloodle! And to match the epic amount of effort that went into hosting events each month last year, we’ve blown up an equally magical balloon animal – the Balloonicorn!

 

Plus as an extra collectible bonus this year, hosts have also unlocked access to the Balloodle skin and can switch between the two at anytime… who knows what other surprises are in store for 2024! 🍰

Below are the point values for both bouncers. As you can see, in addition to having a more complex design, the Balloonicorn is also worth more points than the Balloodle by every measure — even when you compare their scatters that appear further down the post. Since the Perfect Hosts invested quite a lot of time and effort into hosting their events, we wanted their bouncer to be a bit more special and valuable.

Points

  • Balloonicorn:
    • Deploy: 500
    • Capture: 250
    • CapOn: 300
  • Balloodle:
    • Deploy: 250
    • Capture: 200
    • CapOn: 150

You can find these party poppin’ balloons floating at the following landing pads every 6 hours or when captured:

Additionally, the Balloonicorn will scatter up to 3 NEW Rainbowloons nearby when it is captured! Similarly, the Balloodle will scatter up to 3 NEW Boneloons nearby when it is captured!

These will be visible to any player and will be deployed on the owner’s account. This means that unlike Feathers/Boulders, there are CapOn points for the owner! They expire after 120 minutes and have a capture radius of 300 feet. These scatters will NOT count for deploy streaks, ZeeOps, or clan activity since they are passive deploys.

  • Rainbowloons:
    • Capture: 50
    • CapOn: 50
  • Boneloons:
    • Capture: 35
    • CapOn: 25

These bouncers will be available for multi-capture. That means players can capture a Balloonicorn or Balloodle on their own munzees, any previously captured munzees, and more than once if the same Balloonicorn or Balloodle visits you. These bouncers are non-blastable. They will be attracted to both Physical Magnets and Virtual Magnets. You can access these bouncers by turning on your “All Limited Edition Specials” and “All Expiring Specials” filters.

Badges

There are 4 badges you can earn related to these bouncers. They each have “Unique type deploy” and “Unique type capture” badges, which you can see below.

Munzee Events in 2024 Follow-Up

As we mentioned in the announcement a few months ago, we’ll be moving away from Monthly Events in 2024. But this year you’ll be able to have your cake and eat it too! To encourage hosting and attendance moving forward, we’ve launched new exclusive Cake Credits which can only be earned at events! Stay tuned for more details about what goodies you’ll be able to redeem with them.

Looking to attend the 1st possible Mega Event of the year? The upcoming Florida Mecca Munzee Event already has at least 50 attendees marked for Saturday’s main event! Join in on the fun and meet some friendly faces!

💻 Flat Cup Scatters Are Freshly Brewed! ☕

The best part of waking up, is capping a Flat Cup! OK, maybe it’s actually chasing the scatters from those Flat Cups over the next few days to earn badges! While Sam is busy coding, a cup of coffee is never far away and we all hope the same is true for you with a Flat Cup this week.

Limited Time Scatter Details

From the period of Wednesday, January 3rd at 12:00 MHQ through Sunday, January 7th at 23:59 MHQ, when you capture a Flat Cup, up to 3 different cups of Coffee may be scattered nearby!

As before, the Coffees will be visible to any player and will be deployed on the Flat Cup owner’s account. This means that unlike Feathers/Boulders, there are CapOn points for the owner! They expire after 120 minutes, have a capture radius of 300 feet, and you’ll be able to use Rover Treats to capture them as well! These coffee scatters will NOT count for deploy streaks, ZeeOps, or clan activity since they are passive deploys.

The rewards for cups of Coffee are as follows:

  • Capture: 50 points
  • CapOn: 25 points

Glass Guardians Shine Bright!

From the overgrown castle gardens the Glass Guardians will rise! The newest monthly streak bouncers are curious stained glass creatures who’ve sprung to life from a mysterious glass orb. In 2024 every monthly streak you complete will earn you a new stained glass skin for your Glass Guardian, but you can start incubating yours TODAY by purchasing one in Freeze Tag Store!

Glass Guardian Details

The Glass Guardian is a temporary POB that will remain on the map until 23:59 MHQ on December 31. It is currently available in the Freeze Tag Store for $12, and each month its price will decrease by $1. You can purchase 1 Glass Guardian every 28 days. If you own at least 8 temporary Glass Guardians at the end of the year, you’ll be able to keep a permanent one going into 2025! Plus you can continue using all the skins you’ve collected each month!

Like last year, you will have to keep your streak up in January to receive the first skin (the Dragon Glass Guardian shown above) in February. The pattern continues for the remaining months — if you keep up your capture streak for an entire month, you will receive the skin for it the next month. You can change the skin on the guardian at any point (more info below!) as long as you have earned it.

You can find these shattering sky warriors at the following landing pads every 6 hours or when captured:

Additionally, when a Glass Guardian has an upgraded skin, up to 3 NEW Marbles may be scattered nearby when it is captured! For instance, when a Glass Guardian has a Dragon skin it will scatter Torch Marbles nearby.

This means that unlike Air Mystery Feathers/Boulders, there are CapOn points for the owner! They expire after 120 minutes and have a capture radius of 300 feet. These guardian scatters will NOT count for deploy streaks, ZeeOps, or clan activity since they are passive deploys.

Glass Guardians of ANY type will be available for multi-capture. That means players can capture Glass Guardians on their own munzees, any previously captured munzees, and more than once if the same Glass Guardian visits you. Glass Guardians are non-blastable. They will be attracted to both Physical Magnets and Virtual Magnets. You can access Glass Guardians by turning on your “All Limited Edition Specials” and “All Expiring Specials” filters.

How to Change Skins

The process is the same as it has been for the past few years, so we won’t take up your time with the instructions!

However, if you are a little rusty — or if perhaps, you’re a new player(!) — you can refer to our Help Guide article HERE!

Badges

Glass Guardians have 4 associated badge lines:

  • Unique type deploy badges — you’ll need to earn each month’s skin by keeping your streak up!
  • Overall deploy badges — the more guardians you deploy, the merrier!
  • Unique type capture badges — capture at least 1 of each skinned Glass Guardian!
  • Overall capture badges — capture as many Glass Guardians as you can find!

You can see the first of each badge line below, except for the Overall deploy badge line — we’ll reveal that next month!

If you complete the capture streaks for each month (and make the initial purchase in January) you’ll have 12 different skins to choose from! So be sure to purchase one each month so you can have a complete set of these carefully hatched Glass Guardians!

Your hard work and dedication will make a home for these shimmering creatures in no time.

January 2024 Clan Wars Requirements

It’s almost the new year! You’ll find all the latest details to our clan requirements and rewards in the clan section of our app. It is possible that we could update clan requirements prior to January 3 and reserve the right to do so. The final requirements and rewards will always be shown in the app.

We recommend the CuppaZee app and website for additional tracking of clan stats and daily gameplay!

Level 1

Individual

  • at least 5 days of activity
  • at least 10,000 total points
  • at least 250 deploy points
  • at least 12 Places caps

Clan: in addition to the above individual requirements

  • at least 50,000 total points
  • at least 10 Reseller captures/deploys

Rewards: 1 mace, 1 virtual + color, 1 Trojan Unicorn, 1 cog

Level 2

Individual

  • at least 10 days of activity
  • at least 17,500 total points

Your Clan can earn monthly badges to earn for reaching distinct levels of Clan Wars each month. You won’t be able to earn a badge until the entire clan has reached the specified level. There will be a total of 6 badges available in January. The first badge will appear as follows:

Meet Ebekol, the golden flying Pouch Creature! Pouch Creatures are bouncing Munzees based on items from our sister app, WallaBee.

Landing Pads

Ebekol will bounce to the golden landing pads above, plus Skylands every 6 hours or when capped. Like Tuli, Vesi, and Muru, Ebekol is an evolving Pouch Creature that will change icons depending on the number of captures in a daily streak. After 25 total captures, the Pouch Creatures will “level up” when daily streaks are attained.

The timeframe is as follows:

  • Level 1: 0 or 1 day of Capture (Day 2 new level)
  • Level 2: 2 days of Capture in a row (Day 3 new level)
  • Level 3: 3 or more days of Capture in a row

When the streak is broken, the Pouch Creature will revert to Level 1.

When the Bouncer Upgrade credit is used, your Ebekol will also have the ability to be “nudged” to a new munzee. You can use the nudge feature up to three times a day (MHQ 24-hour day), but only after your munzee has sat for at least 3 hours. Additionally, the Bouncer Upgrade will also allow you to rename your Ebekol! The name will still retain the unique number, but feel free to get creative and customize your Pouch Creature’s moniker. Please keep in mind our player code of conduct, and be mindful of maintaining a family friendly environment!

Ebekol will be available for multi-capture. That means players can capture Ebekol on their own munzees, any previously captured munzees, and more than once if the same Ebekol visits you. Ebekol will be non-blastable. The capture radius is 500 ft (152.4 m). It will be attracted to Virtual Magnets ONLY as Ebekol (Level 1). You can access Ebekol under the “All Expiring Specials” and “All Pouch Creatures” filters.

New Badges!

There will be a number of badges to enjoy along with Ebekol, including the following Deploy badge:

NanZEE Drew books were definitely among the titles Tamara enjoyed that way, and she wants to celebrate this pastime before the holidays are over with Flat Flashlight scatters! So crack open a book, flick on that flashlight, and sneak in a quick read while you’re waiting for Santa to come!

From the period of Thursday, December 21st at 12:00 MHQ through Sunday, December 24th at 23:59 MHQ, when you capture a Flat Flashlight, up to 3 Themed Flashlights may be scattered nearby!

Final Garden Hedge Blog!

As the year comes to a close, we wanted to make sure you were heading into January with your desired Garden Hedges! The skin for completing your December capture streak (and the corresponding badge), which is the Penguin Garden Hedge shown below, will be awarded in early January. But, we couldn’t wait to tease what’s in store for next year!

December Garden Hedge Reminders

If you haven’t picked up a Garden Hedge yet, they are available in the Freeze Tag Store for $1. But keep in mind they will all expire at the end of this year after Dec 31, 2023, unless you have collected enough to keep a permeant one into the new year! Read on below to find out more!

How to have a permanent Garden Hedge on your account next year:

  • Own at least 8 Garden Hedges by the end of the year
    • Each month, the price of a Garden Hedge will decrease by $1.
    • However, players can only purchase 1 Garden Hedge every 28 days.

Permanent Garden Hedge Details

In January 2024, if you met the requirement to receive a permanent Garden Hedge, you’ll see the new Garden Hedge in your account, which behaves the same way as the original Garden Hedge we released in January 2023. You will have the ability to convert this permanent garden hedge into any of the skins you have earned in 2023.

All temporary Garden Hedges deployed in 2023 will be archived before we start the process of adding the new permanent Garden Hedges to players’ accounts.

The Barbershop POI must be deployed at least 2,000 ft away from others of the same type. Limited to one per account per 15 days, like the other Places.

NEW Stamp Credits

Have a growing collection of mailbox cards and other past Limited Edition Greeting Cards you wish you could deploy again? Now you can, with the introduction of Stamps! Similar to Mech Blueprints and Cogs, if you’ve ever owned or deployed a Greeting Card in the past, you’ll have the ability to redeem another copy of select cards to deploy again using Stamp Credits. To keep things simple and easy, the majority of cards will only cost 1 Stamp to redeem. Depending on the rarity and value of the card, some may require more Stamps. SHOP HERE!

You’ll notice a new Greeting Cards section in the Redeem Store where these cards will be available to redeem. But don’t panic if you don’t see all of the cards you’ve deployed before! Since there are quite a few past cards, we’ve decided to roll them out in chunks. To start off we’ve added past Winter/Holiday/Christmas one-off cards and Mailbox Greeting Cards from previous years to start for now. As the year goes on we’ll continue to add more! Note that some special or event-specific cards may not be redeemable again. Learn more about Stamps in the Help Guide.

We hope this drums up some excitement to be able to essentially resurrect old Greeting Cards you’ve collected in the past!

January 2024 Double Points Weekend

Ready to kick off the new year with some fun? Start planning ahead for the upcoming Double Points Weekend in January! Munzee Events Spotlight

If you haven’t already, checkout the upcoming events on the Munzee Calendar to see if you’re able to make it to any! As announced last month, we’re making some changes to Mega Events in 2024. To recap, instead of applying as a Mega Event, it will require at least 50 attendees in order to reach Mega Event status. Who will be the first to attend and/or host the very first Mega Event of the year? You can make it happen by joining these events and more!

The Florida Mecca Munzee Event already has over 30 players marked as attending for their main event and is well on their way to Mega status! Join the hosts for some fun in the sun and we’re sure you’ll see some friendly faces in attendance as well!
