Forge Weapon Shards into Something Nameworthy!

After last month’s success with Jewel Shards and their spotlight this month during Jewel Day, we wanted to keep the momentum going and create another shard type! In our quest to create more flexible systems for our players so that they can play their way, we decided that Clan Weapons would be the next priority.

If you’re a new player, you may not have many Clan Weapons yet — but keep reading so that you’re prepared for the future! Otherwise, if you’re an experienced player, you may have an overstock of specific Clan Weapon Credits. You’ll be able to choose if you want to redeem some of your Clan Weapon Credits for Weapon Shards. If you do, you’ll be able to use those Weapon Shards to create new Clan Weapons of your choosing. For example, you may have tons of Maces stored up from past Clan War rewards and have no plans on using them. Now you have the option of breaking some of those Maces into Weapon Shards and using them to get The Hammer. The choice will be yours within the options given.

Don’t worry if you have any Clan Weapon Credits saved up — those will remain. Please also note that only Credits can be converted to Weapon Shards — meaning existing Crossbows and Catapults cannot be converted. However, you will be able to convert Weapon Shards to any of the 6 weapons. Moving forward, Clan Wars will award Weapon Shards instead of specific weapons. Of course, not all Weapons are created equal, so different amounts of Weapon Shards are required to convert to each Clan Weapon type.

You’ll find all the details and conversion rates at munzee.com/redeem. These rewards/rates may change from time to time, and the Trojan Unicorn may even be found. Remember it is archived at the end of each clan war, so choose your timing wisely!

While Weapon Shards are currently only available as trading elements online or Clan War rewards, who knows what the future holds? Perhaps you’ll be able to forge something new? Only time will tell!

Secret ZeeOps- Operation: Green Thumb (March 2021)

Agents, did you get the hint from our social post last week? We have a new Secret ZeeOp available in the ZeeOps Hub! This means that Operation: ZEEcret Admirer will be removed soon. However, if you’ve already purchased Operation: ZEEcret Admirer, you will be able to complete it and collect rewards even after it is no longer available for purchase.

Can you track down the thief with an obscured whorl in his or her print? If you complete ALL the missions in Operation: Green Thumb, you’ll receive the snazzy badge below, along with the Golden L.A.S.E.R. Shark Munzee (more info below!) and various other rewards listed in the app!

There are 3 levels. Level 1 has 3 missions, Level 2 has 4 missions, and Level 3 has 5 missions. Each level ends with more prizes.

We may share this information moving forward with other Operations but possibly not.

Golden L.A.S.E.R. Shark Details

The Golden L.A.S.E.R. Shark functions the same way as the regular L.A.S.E.R. Shark. You can refer to our Help Guide article about it HERE!

The only difference, other than its color, is that it also lands on Premium munzees.

With the release of this L.A.S.E.R. Shark variant, we’ve also extended its corresponding badge line. You can sneak a peek at the new badges we’ve added below:

While you’ve probably guessed correctly about the requirements for the badge on the left (Deploy one Golden L.A.S.E.R. Shark Munzee), we’ll keep the requirements for the badge on the right a secret for now — just capture as many L.A.S.E.R. Sharks as you can!

On behalf of MHQ, we thank you for your continued service.

Double Points Details

From the period of Thursday, March 11th at 12:00 MHQ through Monday, March 15th at 12:00 MHQ, enjoy double points on ALL Jewel and Funfinity Stone activity!

This includes deploys of new Funfinity Stones, which leads us into the next topic…

Store Sale!

For the same period as double points, Funfinity Stones will be available in the Freeze Tag Store!

This is the perfect opportunity to pick up any that you missed last year, especially if you are looking to earn the Funfinity Bootlet badge!

Limited-Time Badges

For the same period as double points, you can earn a special badge for capturing a certain amount of Jewels, and another for deploying a certain amount of Jewels. If you need any jewels to deploy you can find them in the store or redeem your jewel shards!
You can see what these badges look like below!

We’ll keep the requirements a secret, but they shouldn’t be too hard to get! Please note that these badges will only require Jewel activity, NOT Funfinity Stone activity.

Rover Learned a New Trick!

Perhaps you’ve guessed what it is from the badge image above? Now, when you capture a Jewel while a Rover is with you, you have a small chance of receiving Jewel Shards! This includes Jewels captured using Blasts!

The popup that appears after you’ve captured a Jewel will let you know if Rover has dug up any, so make sure to keep an eye out! You will also find them on your credits list.

If you don’t have a Rover with you and there aren’t any nearby for you to pick up, you can purchase one from the store HERE! To learn more about how Rover works visit our Help Guide article HERE!

We hope you enjoy going on a treasure hunt with an old pal! We’re considering this the first step in our long-awaited Roverhaul.

Reseller Garden Gnomes AND More Badges!

Our Authorized Resellers have let us know that they’ve gotten such amazing support from you, the players, with Fr057y and Virtual RUMs! With this year’s theme of Monthly Garden Gnomes, we thought it would be nice to include them in that as well! Please welcome these very special Garden Gnomes themed around each Reseller’s shop!

Reseller Garden Gnome Details

Like the other gnomes, Reseller Garden Gnomes are temporary POBs that will remain on the map until 23:59 MHQ on December 31. They will be available at our Authorized Resellers’ shops some time today. When you purchase a Garden Gnome from a Reseller, you will receive the base Garden Gnome with their respective gnome skin already equipped. However, you can still swap out the skins just like the other Garden Gnomes — refer to our original blog post if you need a refresher! Interested? You can get links to shop all of our resellers HERE!

Points

  • Deploy: 500
  • Capture: 250
  • CapOn: 300

You can find these international ambassadors traveling to the following landing pads every 6 hours or when captured:

Additionally, the Gold Miner Garden Gnome will land on all stages of the Treasure Chest Evolution.

Also like the other gnomes, up to 3 NEW Gnome Hats may be scattered nearby when they are captured!

The Gnome Hats will be visible to any player and will be deployed on the Gnome owner’s account. This means that unlike Feathers/Boulders, there are CapOn points for the owner! They expire after 120 minutes and have a capture radius of 300 feet. These hat scatters will NOT count for deploy streaks, ZeeOps, or clan activity since they are passive deploys.

The rewards for Gnome Hats are as follows:

  • Capture: 50 points
  • CapOn: 50 points

Reseller Garden Gnomes of ANY type will be available for multi-capture. That means players can capture Reseller Garden Gnomes on their own munzees, any previously captured munzees, and more than once if the same Reseller Garden Gnome visits you. Reseller Garden Gnomes are non-blastable. They will be attracted to both Physical Magnets and Virtual Magnets. You can access Reseller Garden Gnomes by turning on your “All Limited Edition Specials” and “All Expiring Specials” filters.

Badges

As a reminder, Garden Gnomes have 4 associated badge lines:

  • Unique type deploy badges — you’ll need to earn each month’s skin by keeping your streak up! You’ll also receive these upon purchasing a Reseller gnome!
  • Overall deploy badges — the more gnomes you deploy, the merrier!
  • Unique type capture badges — capture at least 1 of each skinned gnome!
  • Overall capture badges — capture as many gnomes as you can find!

First, here are the “Unique type deploy” and “Unique type capture” badges associated with the Aussie Explorer Garden Gnome:

The badges for the other Reseller Garden Gnomes follow the same pattern.

We’ve also extended the “Overall deploy” and “Overall capture” badge line — you can peek at the first of these new badges below:

We hope these Reseller gnomes are as beloved as their sports star brethren!

Jewel Shards are a Smash Hit!

We’re finally ready to give our veteran players a requested feature with a fun twist. Welcome Jewel Shards! Similar to our Hotel renovations with Destination Credits, we wanted to create a more flexible system for Jewels. This is especially true after the warm reception to the Funfinity Stone Pouch Creatures last year.

This new system is designed for experienced players who may have an overstock of specific Jewel Credits. You’ll be able to choose if you want to redeem some of your Jewel Credits for Jewel Shards. If you do, you’ll be able to use those Jewel Shards to create new Jewels of your choosing. For example, you may have tons of Aquamarines stored up from past Clan War rewards and have no plans on using them. Now you have the option of breaking some of those Aquas into Jewel Shards and using them to get a Citrine or a Ruby. The choice will be yours within the options given.

Don’t worry if you have any Jewel Credits saved up — those will remain, and all Jewels can still be purchased in the Freeze Tag online store. Of course, not all Jewels are created equal, so different amounts of Jewel Shards are required to convert to each Jewel type.

You’ll find all the details and conversion rates at munzee.com/redeem.

While Jewel Shards are currently only available as trading elements online, who knows what the future holds? Perhaps a certain bot buddy will help find more, or maybe you’ll earn them in Clan Wars or ZeeOps? Only time will tell!

Munzee on!

FAQ:

Q: I’m a new player with no Jewel Shards and no Jewel credits to exchange. What do I do?
A: Be patient. This is being introduced as a tool for those who have accumulated many credits in order to give them a way to choose what type of Munzee they become and deploy.

Q: Why are the number of Jewel Shards given for a Jewel not the same as the number of Jewel Shards required to get a Jewel?
A: The vast majority of these Jewels were earned as rewards from Clan Wars, Prize Wheels, ZeeOps, and other gameplay activities. The value doesn’t change, but the option to upgrade into a different Jewel is accounted for.

Q: Why can’t I break a virtual Amethyst (or other virtual Jewels) into Jewel Shards?
A: Virtual Jewels are complete munzees in your undeployed list, so it isn’t the same process as exchanging a Jewel Credit for a Jewel Shards credit.

Q: What about Clan Weapons?
A: What about them? 😉 Stay tuned for possible expansions into other areas of the game!

Q: Can I trade my credits to another player or give Jewel Shards to another player?
A: Nope.

NEW Capture Mulligan and Credits Section in the In-App Store!

Our Capture, Deploy, and Super Streak badge lines are popular choices for many players looking to set a goal. It can be challenging to squeeze in daily play during a busy month, but with some careful planning, many of our players have managed to do it (at the time of writing, over 4,000 have earned the Super Streak badge). However, the second badge in each line ratchets up the difficulty, requiring an unbroken year of capture and/or deploy activity — undoubtedly a difficult feat!

Even the most dedicated player, with alarms and reminders set each day, can have an unforeseen circumstance come up. It takes just one unlucky day to break a streak. The past year has brought unlucky days for many, so we thought it was the right time to release the Capture Mulligans!

NEW Capture Mulligans

They will award 1 capture worth 50 points as follows:

  • 1 Day – Allows players to add a capture marked with yesterday’s date
  • 7 Day – Allows players to add a capture to the last day missed within the last 7 days (for example, as today is Feb 10th — if you missed capping something on both Feb 7th and Feb 8th, it will only add a capture with a Feb 8th date)
  • 14 Day – Allows players to add a capture to the last day missed within the last 14 days

As these items are meant for those one-off unlucky days, they are limited to 1 each per player every 30 days.

Please note that they are only available in the In-App Store, not in our online store.

Other Credits Available in the App

Along with the Capture Mulligans above, we’ve brought the following credits to the In-App Store for your convenience!

We hope this makes breaking your capture streak a little less devastating!

While we revealed images for the first of each badge line in the original post, we are happy to show you the “Unique type deploy” and “Unique type capture” badges associated with the Archery Garden Gnome:

Improvements to Website Quick Deploy!

For many players, our Web Map is the easiest way to deploy a Virtual, especially if it’s for a friend across the globe! However, with all the new Virtual types we’ve been releasing lately, even that process has started to become unruly. On Tuesday we made 2 changes to it which, while they may seem small, can be total game changers for those frequent virtual deployers:

1. Munzee types are broken up into 3 categories

Previously, the entire roster of virtual munzees was visible at once, which could get overwhelming and make it hard to find the type you had in mind.

Clicking on a category will expand the list to show only the munzees in that category.

We’ve started with these three categories for now, but may expand to more in the future!

2. The number of undeployed munzees you have for each type is now visible!

Previously, this information was only displayed in your Undeployed list. If you clicked on a munzee type that you didn’t actually have, a popup would tell you that after the fact.

Now all the information you need is all in one place!

We hope these improvements make playing Munzee a bit more convenient!
