January 2019 Clan Requirements

Clan Battle #70 will kick off the New Year on January 3 at 00:01 MHQ!

Requirements this month are based on overall captures and deploys! Think you have what it takes?

If you would like to join a clan for the first time or want to find a new clan you can use our Clan Randomizer button, but it is only available from 00:01 January 1 through 23:59 January 2 so act fast!

LEVEL 1
Clan must capture at least 300 munzees of any type*. Each player must earn at least 5,000 points. Clan must earn at least 100,000 points.

Rewards: 1 Mace credit, 1 Virtual, 1 Diamond credit

LEVEL 2
Clan must capture at least 450 munzees of any type* and deploy 100 munzees of any type*. Each player must earn at least 10,000 points. Clan must earn at least 250,000 points.

Rewards: 1 Longsword credit, 2 Crossbow, 1 Catapult, 1 Surprise, 2 Zodiac credits

LEVEL 3
Clan must capture at least 600 munzees of any type* and deploy 225 munzees of any type*.  Each player must earn at least 20,000 points. Clan must earn at least 400,000 points.

Rewards: 2 Longsword credits, 3 Crossbow, 3 Virtuals, 3 Virtual color credits, 1 Prize Wheel credit

LEVEL 4
Clan must capture at least 1,000 munzees of any type* and deploy 300 munzees of any type*.  Each player must earn at least 40,000 points. Clan must earn at least 600,000 points.

Rewards: 1 Mace credit, 1 Longsword credit, 1 Crossbow, 1 Catapult, 1 Battle Axe credit, 2 Amethysts, 1 Ruby credit, 2 Virtuals, 2 Virtual color credits

LEVEL 5
Clan must capture at least 1500 munzees of any type* and deploy 450 munzees of any type*.  Each player must earn at least 75,000 points. Clan must earn at least 800,000 points.

Rewards: 1 Battle Axe credit, 1 Hammer credit, 2 Crossbows, 2 Mace credits, 2 Longsword credits, 3 Virtuals, 3 Virtual Color credits, 1 Surprise, 1 Amethyst, 2 Prize Wheel credit, 2 blast caps

*Socials do not count.
**Points include Caps, Deploys, and CapOns

Announcing The End Of The Recycling Munzee

Despite years of “Going Green” and “Cleaning Up The Map” it’s time to announce the retirement of the Recycle program. Although this initiative to locating missing or uncapped Munzees had great intentions certain limitations have kept it from fulfilling its overall purpose.

To give all of our players a final chance to earn Recycle Badges we’ll celebrate one last round of trash pickup starting NOW until December 31, 2018 at 23:59 MHQ.

Remember that Recycles land on physical munzees that have not been capped in the last 365 days.

The munzees that are affected include:

  • All Physical Jewels
  • Clan Weapons
  • Greenies
  • Physical Mysteries
  • Premium Munzees

As we take Recycles to the curb, rest easy knowing we’re cooking up some great ideas on how to enhance our map maintenance. Here’s a hint… it definitely has something to do with ZeeQRew. No news yet and no promises on anything in the next 1,000 hours, but as always Munzee teaches patience!

Boxing Day 2018 Sale + Fancy Flat Rob Variants!

With Christmas in the rearview mirror, we’re excited to announce a Boxing Day Sale, which will go live TODAY at 12:00 MHQ. The sale will continue until 12:00 MHQ tomorrow. To take advantage of this sale you’ll simply use the code “BOXINGDAY2018” at checkout and it will discount certain items by 18%.

You can find more details of specific products on sale below, but we also have a new product to announce!

FANCY FLAT ROB:

After his stint as Flat Santa, Flat Rob thinks it’s time he step up his game! The new Fancy Flat Robs are bouncing munzees that work like Myths and Pouch Creatures based on variant designs of the original Flat Rob. Fancy Flat Robs will bounce to regular Flat Robs and regular Virtuals with a green color credit (listed below), and an additional other type based on the variant. These will bounce every 12 hours or when captured.

There will be three Fancy Flat Rob variants available, but players will only be able to own one variant type. Fancy Flat Robs will cost $25 and they will have the ability to be nudged by the owner. There will be a limited number of each type available. These are not LIVE yet, but they will be available HERE at 12:00 MHQ.

Points for Fancy Flat Robs are as follows:

Deployment: 500 points
Capture: Random amount between 200 – 300 points
CapOn: Random amount between 50 – 100 points

All Fancy Flat Robs will bounce to the following:

  • Flat Rob Virtual Munzees (when active on the map)
  • Green Colored Virtuals

Sometimes Flat Rob likes to travel to the mountains and hit the slopes! This variant of Fancy Flat Rob bounces to Flat Robs, Green Colored Virtuals and Ice Mystery Munzees.

Beach Flat Rob:
Flat Rob has been known to kick back with his toes in the ocean on more than one occasion. This variant of Fancy Flat Rob bounces to Flat Robs, Green Colored Virtuals and Water Mystery Munzees.

Tux Flat Rob:
Every now and then Flat Rob likes to treat himself to the finer things in life. This variant of Fancy Flat Rob bounces to Flat Robs, Green Colored Virtuals and Jewel Munzees.

NYZ Countdown Calendar- ON SALE NOW!

With 10 days left of the Munzee Advent Calendar there are still plenty of surprises ahead, but why stop at Christmas!? Due to the overwhelming positive response to our Christmas Advent Calendar we’re excited to announce a New Year’s Zee Countdown Calendar is now for sale!

This abbreviated calendar program will start December 26th and countdown the days until New Year’s Eve. Once again we won’t spoil the surprise, but you can expect a variety of virtual products, special opportunities, limited edition badges and more!

Count down each day as the NYZ pin drops closer to New Year’s Eve. Since there will only be six days left in the year when this starts we’ve loaded more rewards into each day, which will be given at 00:01 MHQ daily beginning December 26. Due to feedback from our Christmas Advent Calendar this program will not feature any discount codes and access to special events will start immediately instead of having to wait 24 hours. Additionally there will be no physical product shipped, therefore no shipping charge.

MHQ Bash 6 dates and more!

Hey everybody, as 2018 comes to a close we have some announcements for MHQ hosted events in 2019, including MHQ Bash 6, Munzee Madness 8 and more.

These events will include a variety of features to make them bigger than ever before and we want to celebrate with as many of our players as possible. Please keep in mind that there are still many details to line out for these events, but we wanted to give everyone adequate time to plan if they’ll be joining us. 

Munzee Madness 8- March 2019

We will be hosting a dinner on March 9, 2019 in conjunction with Munzee Madness 8, an annual weekend of player hosted events in California each Spring. Although this gathering is separate from the planned events of Munzee Madness, we hope that Munzee Madness players will join the Freeze Tag team members for an evening of food, festivities and fun. The event is free to the public and you can RSVP by visiting the event page on the Munzee Calendar.

GeoWoodstock XVII- May 2019

As a continuation of our Coexist Campaign, we will be hosting an event near GeoWoodstock XVII in Fort Worth, TX the weekend of May 25, 2019. GeoWoodstock is primarily a geocaching event, but the mega event has proven to be an ideal opportunity to cross-promote all location-based gaming. No details regarding time and location have been defined yet, but expect more news closer to the event itself.

Munzee’s 8th Birthday Bash- July 2019

We’ll celebrate our eighth birthday near FTHQ in Orange County, California in July 2019. No specific dates or locations have been set for this event, but players can expect the opportunity to earn multiple badges, meet members of the Freeze Tag team and more. Stay tuned for more information regarding worldwide Birthday event themes next year.

MHQ Bash 6- September 2019

After the success of MH-BOO Bash in October, we’re excited to announce the dates of the sixth annual MHQ Bash. To accommodate the event season, dates for MHQ Bash 6 have been set for the end of September. MHQ Bash 6 will kickoff on Friday September 27, 2019 with various events throughout the weekend until September 29. Like previous years the Bash will once again take place in North Texas. No specific locations have been chosen yet, but we plan on exploring new areas in the cities surrounding McKinney, TX in the coming months. MHQ Bash 6 attendee packages will go on sale some time next year so stay tuned for more information. Players interested in joining can RSVP by visiting the event page on the Munzee Calendar.

Last chance to get your Advent Calendar before it starts!

The 2018 Advent Calendar is our first time to offer a daily prize/reward/discount to Munzee players. The program has already been met with an overwhelmingly positive response. Due to this response we want to give everyone one last chance to get the Advent Calendar BEFORE it launches.

The first door will be opened just after midnight at MHQ December 1 and the first digital delivery will occur. Plan for the email to be delivered shortly after MHQ midnight daily letting you know what you have received. Credits and virtual type munzees will be shown at www.munzee.com/credits

Buy your Advent Calendar in our online store now! Advent Calendars have over $60 value just for the products you’ll receive and that doesn’t include the value of badges, multi-point days, etc.

The purchase price is currently $40 but will decrease over time. However, the gifts will not be retroactive. For example, if you purchase an Advent Calendar at 08:15 MHQ on December 5th, you will not receive the items for the first five days. In this example you will not receive anything until 00:01 MHQ on December 6th. The Advent Calendar will no longer be for sale after December 17th.

A special “Advent” title will be added to your account so you know, and so do others, that you are part of the program!

December 2018 Clan Requirements

Clan Battle #69 will start December 3 at 00:01 MHQ!

Requirements this month are based on overall Clan activity and points, so you’ll need to work together and hold one another accountable.

If you would like to join a clan for the first time or want to find a new clan you can use our Clan Randomizer button, but it is only available from 00:01 December 1 through 23:59 December 2 so act fast!

LEVEL 1
Clan must capture at least 250 physical munzees of any type. Clan must earn at least 100,000 points.

Rewards: 1 Crossbow, 1 Mace credit, 1 Virtual, 1 Ruby credit

LEVEL 2
Clan must capture at least 350 physical munzees of any type, and 250 virtual munzees of any type.  Clan must earn at least 250,000 points.

Rewards: 1 Mace credit, 1 Longsword credit, 1 Crossbow, 1 Catapult, 1 Surprise, 2 Aquamarine credits

LEVEL 3
Clan must capture at least 450 physical munzees of any type, and 750 virtual munzees of any type.  Clan must earn at least 400,000 points.

Rewards: 2 Mace credits, 1 Longsword credit, 2 Crossbow, 1 Catapult, 2 Virtuals, 2 Virtual color credits, 10 ZeeCred

LEVEL 4
Clan must capture at least 500 physical munzees of any type, and 1250 virtual munzees of any type. Clan must deploy at least 150 munzees of any type. Clan must earn at least 500,000 points.

Rewards: 1 Mace credit, 2 Longsword credits, 1 Crossbow, 2 Catapults, 1 Battle Axe credit, 2 Sapphires, 1 Virtual Resort, 25 ZeeCred

LEVEL 5
Clan must capture at least 1000 physical munzees of any type, and 2500 virtual munzees of any type. Clan must deploy at least 350 munzees of any type. Clan must earn at least 800,000 points.

Rewards: 2 blast caps, 2 Virtuals, 2 Virtual Color credits, 1 Hammer credit, 1 Catapult, 2 Crossbows, 2 Mace credits, 2 Longsword credits, 1 Surprise, 1 Amethyst, 1 Prize Wheel credit, 5 Virtual Trail credits (with 5 Virtuals)

By completing Level 5 requirements, you’ll also unlock a unique “I achieved Level 5 in December 2018” sticker to purchase for $1. This decal sticker is not a game piece, but it will give you major bragging rights! You will not be able to purchase this sticker until your Clan has achieved Level 5. It is optional, not required but something special we wanted to try for the first time. 🙂

Physical = Anything with a QR code* including any Destination Rooms, hosts, bouncing things, etc.
Virtual = All types of virtuals – clan weapons, jewels, resorts, virtual myths, expiring virtual types, etc.
*Socials are not physical or virtual so they do not count.

Muru Pouch Creature Munzee Details

Get ready to rock and roll this Cyber Munzday!

There will be a limited number of Muru Pouch Creature Munzees available for $20 in the Freeze Tag Online Store Cyber Munzday (Monday, November 26th) at 12:00 MHQ time. We will release waves of Muru at different points of the day, so if you miss the initial launch there will still be more available later. These will be sold on a first come, first served basis, and there is a limit of 1 per account.

Muru:

The Pouch Creatures are based on items from our sister app, WallaBee. These creatures, while similar to Mythological Munzees in many respects, have some different qualities. The Muru Pouch Creature Munzee will bounce on Greenies and Earth Mystery Munzees every 6 hours or when capped.

Don’t forget that after 25 captures the Muru Pouch Creature Munzee will begin to level up!

To level up, a daily capture streak must be attained:

  • Level 1: 0-3 Consecutive Days of Capture
  • Level 2: 4-7 Consecutive Days of Capture
  • Level 3: 8+ Consecutive Days of Capture

Your Level 1 Pouch Creature will need 4 consecutive days of captures for it to evolve to Level 2, this will happen after the first capture on Day 4. Your Level 2 Pouch Creature will need 8 consecutive days of captures for it to evolve to Level 3, this will happen after the first capture on Day 8.

When the streak is broken, the Pouch Creature will revert to Level 1.

By leveling up a Muru Pouch Creature Munzee, the points for the owner, capper, and host owner will increase:

Points
Deploy: 250
Capture/CapOn:

  • Muru (Level 1)
    • Capture: 200 points
    • CapOn: 100 Points
    • CapOn (Host Owner): 50 points
  • Muruchi (Level 2)
    • Capture: 300 points
    • CapOn: 200 Points
    • CapOn (Host Owner): 50 points
  • Murutain (Level 3)
    • Capture: 500 points
    • CapOn: 300 points
    • CapOn (Host Owner): 50 points

A significant change to the Earth Mystery Munzee has also gone into effect. Earth Mysteries will no longer activate Recycle Munzees. Instead capping an Earth Mystery will scatter Boulder Munzees to Greenies nearby. Similar to Catapult Munzee three Boulders will be hurled to Greenies within a quarter mile radius for 1 hour. This feature is currently live.

The points for Earth Mystery Munzees will stay the same, but the Boulders’ points are as follows:

Boulders:

  • Capture: 40 Points
  • CapOn (Host Owner): 15 Points

For deploying a Muru Pouch Creature Munzee, you will earn a deploy badge:

There are also three badges (nine total) for capturing each level of the Muru Pouch Creature Munzee. Here are the first for each level:

Pouch Creatures can be a little shy, but luckily all three types (Muru, Tuli and Vesi) are attracted to physical Munzee Magnets as well! They will only be attracted as their Level 1 version though, so once they level up they won’t fall for any tricks! You can pick up Magnets in the Freeze Tag Online Store along with an Elemental Munzee Pak (which will also go live on Cyber Munzday) to help you hunt down more Pouch Creatures!
