July Flat Friends and QRewzdays Schedules!

July is our birthday month and it is going to be full of announcements, fun, updates, and new stuff. Everything we do may be subject to change. Remember to follow your local guidelines and Stay Home if required.

Forever Flat Schedule

Our first big announcement for birthday month is that all 4 of our Flat Friends will be on the map forever! That’s right, we’ve made the decision to keep all flats on the map permanently instead of on a rotating basis like they were originally planned. There are several reasons for this update, but the main reason is based on the success of doing this for the past 3 months. The number of points available on a daily basis remains high for owners and cappers with this special layer of munzees. We hope you appreciate this change in your favor!

July QRewzday Schedule

Now it’s time to mark your calendars for July QRewzdays to earn some QRewzee points! We’ve got a nice sprinkling of them throughout the month, so there’s likely a day that works for you! It’s the two non-clan days as usual and then all the multiples of 3 so it’s easy to remember!

The July QRewzdays are as follows:

  • July 1 at 00:01 MHQ time through July 3rd at  at 23:59 MHQ time,
  • The following dates beginning at 00:01 MHQ time until 23:59 MHQ time on the same day: July 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 21, 24, 27, 30

Remember that QRew and ZeeQRew status can be earned or revoked at 00:01 MHQ time on the 1st and 15th, so plan accordingly if you want to achieve or retain either title!

Much of the lower levels this month can be completed from the comfort of your home, which may be required in your local area. Some clans may have to choose not to go for levels they have achieved in the past. Some players may have to choose to play in new clans, or not at all for upcoming months. We understand the world is in a state of not knowing what the next days, weeks, or months will look like. We will continue to provide opportunities for ALL players to play Munzee their way, while also following our code of conduct.

If Clan Wars won’t work for you this month we hope you will join us for ZeeOps!

Your Clan can earn monthly badges to earn for reaching distinct levels of Clan Wars each month. You won’t be able to earn a badge until the entire clan has reached the specified level. Since there is NO Level X this month, there will be a total of 5 badges available in July. The first badge will appear as follows:

Novice Newbies: July 2020- Reached Level 1 in July 2020 Clan Wars

Overall Clan Notes:

Please keep in mind Levels 4 & 5 are considered advanced gameplay and not recommended for brand new players. Be aware when allowing new players to join your clans or leaving your clan PUBLIC for anyone to join. You are unable to kick a player out of your clan when the battle begins on the 3rd, or after.

Bouncer captures include any POB, MOB, or TOB (even the temporary POB)

*Mystery points include all Cap, Deploy, and CapOn for ALL mystery types. (Mystery, Ice, Fire, Water, Earth, Electric, Air) — this does NOT include scatters from these types
**Clan War Card is a new limited edition greeting card. It will follow all the same points and rules as other Limited Edition greeting cards.

Physical points include all Cap, Deploy, and CapOn for ALL Physical types.
Deploy points are for all types excluding Personals.

Total points include Cap, Deploy, and CapOn of all types.
Flat friends points include all Cap, Deploy, and CapOn for flat Rob, flat Matt, flat Lou, and flat Hammock. Fancy Flat Rob and Fancy Flat Matt are NOT included in flat friends points.

Social and Personal will not count for Deploy requirements.
Social will not count for total Capture requirements.
Personal will not count for Physical points of any sort. It is not a true physical munzee.

For complete information regarding Clan Wars, access our Help Guide!

Hints for how to play during Stay Home orders:
Use the swap feature for brand new virtual deploys.
Use the online map to deploy virtuals worldwide or find gardens to deploy in on social media groups.
Watch the online store for sales during the month to help meet your goals.
Use evolution reset credits to get new CapOn points from OLD deploys (they do NOT count as new deploys unless they launch a tPOB in the final stage which does have deploy points!)

And finally, be responsible. If your local government, your health, or any circumstances require you to Stay Home – DO NOT participate. It is up to each of us to determine what is safe and what is allowed. This is a game and not worth risking your own live or the lives of others.
Munzee on, stay safe and Play Your Way!

Requirements and rewards found in app are the final word. Please report any issues to Munzee support.
Play at your own risk, within the laws of your local area.

July 2020’s Resolution Is Not Just For Kids!

Now that summer is in full swing, have you been able to enjoy some of your usual hot-weather activities? While it’s certainly easier to break a sweat due to the temperature, we hope you aren’t slacking off on your fitness regimen! As we announced in our January Resolutions blog, we will be launching monthly Capture Streak Badges centered on a year of being active. Each month’s badge will be dedicated to practicing a different exercise. Similar to how our Super Streak badges operate, you will be awarded a badge if you capture at least one munzee* each day for the entire month. This month’s badge may be tricky to get, but we believe in you!

Each month’s badge will be themed around the particular resolution goal. For July we are featuring jump rope! Like last month’s exercise, jogging, jumping rope is a great aerobic exercise and is also very simple to do. Another benefit from jumping rope is that it exercises your coordination and ability to focus — after all, maintaining the rhythm you have turning the rope and jumping over it at the same time is no easy feat, and it gets harder as you become more tired. The only downside (or rather, barrier) to jumping rope is that it does require 1 piece of equipment and a space bubble big enough to fit your entire body comfortably within the bounds of the jump rope while standing or jumping. If you don’t have enough space, you might get your rope caught on something and injure yourself or others.

What is the perfect jump rope length?

The answer depends on whether you’re jumping alone or with a group! If you’re jumping alone, the perfect length will depend on your height. According to LiveStrong.com, anyone shorter than 4’9″ should use a 7-foot rope, while anyone taller than 6’6″ should use an 11-foot rope. If, like most people, you’re somewhere in-between, check out the link to see how long your jump rope should be!

While it may be a while before you get to jump in a group, LiveStrong’s suggested rope lengths grow depending on how many people are jumping. For a single jumper with the ropes being turned by two others, a 12-foot rope should suffice. However, more than 4 jumpers will require at least double that length! If you’re jumping double dutch, these same recommendations apply — and both ropes should be the same length!

Before you attempt any exercise, it’s always a good idea to consult your doctor**. Good luck and Munzee on!

* In order to encourage active gameplay we will not count Social Munzees for these capture streaks. If you know you’ll be in an area without munzees, plan ahead!

** MUNZEE IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY EXERCISE-RELATED INJURIES

You’ll Be the Epitome of Casual Cool With These 20/20 Vision Munzees!

While we’ve had a lot of wacky and unique eye wear options featured over the past few months, maybe they just aren’t your taste. The twelfth 20/20 Vision Munzee is bound to be appealing to a wide range of people due to their classic shape, which looks good on just about everyone! No wonder it’s the go-to choice for off-duty models and movie stars. These fetching frames were deployed this afternoon at 15:00 MHQ. Do you own a pair of these glasses? If not, would you consider them?

Only six pairs of Aviators will be deployed, and they will bounce to all colors of virtuals every 12 hours or when captured. These will be attracted to Virtual Magnets though so be sure to stock up!

Points:

  • Cap: 200 points
  • CapOn (Host): 100 points

Capturing the Aviators will add this chic Bird’s Eye View badge to your collection! Remember, down the line we’ll be putting out an overall capture line, so don’t forget to check back for updates!

If you’re not a fan of how aviators look on you, first — make sure that they fit right. The front part of the glasses should be around the width of your head. When wearing the glasses, the arms should be bent at a 90 degree angle or thereabouts — not much more (they might snap off!) or much less (the glasses will slip and fall!). If fit isn’t the issue, maybe lens shape is the culprit. Try going rounder or squarer depending on your face shape and preference. Round lenses tend to look better on people with squarer faces and vice-versa, as it visually balances your face instead of making it seem “too” round or square. Of course, this is just a guideline — maybe you like how you look with a certain lens shape, regardless of your face shape — you do you!

You’ll be able to capture the 20/20 Vision specials on other players’ munzees as well as your own for the remainder of the year! As a reminder, all 20/20 Vision specials will leave the map on 12/31/2020 at 23:59 MHQ. More unique 20/20 Vision specials will launch throughout the year so keep on the lookout — you won’t want to miss out on these trendy lenses!

Show us how you Munzee! Tweet us @Munzee or be sure to post a photo and mention us on Facebook (@Munzee) or Instagram (@munzeeapp). Good luck, and Munzee on!

Are You Ready For Akvamariin?

We couldn’t let the month of June, with all its aquatic-themed releases (Jellyfish and Turtle Evolutions, Baby Animals, and Poseidon), pass without introducing this beautiful blue-green stone! It also holds the distinction of being the first stone created for Munzee — past stones were borrowed from our sister app WallaBee! Joining the Ametust, Topaas, and Oniks, please welcome the Akvamariin!

Also known as part of the Funfinity Stones, these Player Owned Bouncers (POB) resemble the Jewel Munzees, which they also bounce to! The Akvamariin is available NOW in the Freeze Tag Online Store. Be sure to shop fast, because these Funfinity Stones will leave the store at 12:00 MHQ on Monday, June 29! Like the other Funfinity Stones, players can purchase a Akvamariin for $10. No upgrade ability is available. Topaas and Oniks will also be available during this time.

Akvamariin Details

Akvamariin joins the current line of Pouch Creatures as a physical munzee that will bounce to Greenie, Earth Mystery, Aquamarine, and Treehouse Munzees every 6 hours or when capped.

It will have the same point values as the other Funfinity Stones:

  • Deploy: 250
  • Capture: 200 Points
  • CapOn: 250 Points
  • CapOn (Host Owner): 200 points

Akvamariin will be available for multi-capture. That means players can capture Akvamariin on their own munzees, any previously captured munzees, and more than once if the same Akvamariin visits you. It will be attracted to Physical Magnets on all 4 of its landing pads. You can access Akvamariin under the “Only Expiring Specials” and “Only Pouch Creatures” filters.

New Badge!

Deploying an Akvamariin will earn you the following badge:

Akvamariin Funfinity Stone- Deploy Akvamariin Pouch Creature Munzee.

Additionally, any Akvamariin captures will help you progress in both the Unique Funfinity Stone Capture badge line and the Pouch Creature Capture badge line. As a reminder, you can see the first of each of these badge lines below:

If you want to brush up on any Pouch Creature knowledge, be sure to check out our Help Guide!

Munzee on!

**We understand chasing after physical jewels like Aquamarines won’t be an option for some right now, but luckily these little critters will pop into Treehouses as well, and are attracted to magnets on all their landing pads!

Event Spotlight: happy birthday to Munzee, Workum- the Netherlands

While Munzee can certainly be a solo game if you choose, there’s no denying the appeal in meeting others who share your interests. Munzee Events are perhaps the best example of this, as they allow you to meet both old and new players in a safe, friendly environment. On top of that, there are usually activities, games, and — if you’re lucky — goodie bags! That being said, planning events requires a considerable amount of effort. So, to make it easier for prospective hosts (and maybe even recurring hosts), we decided to put the spotlight on past events, Munzee-Toolkit style! We hope this series of posts will inspire you to try hosting an event if you never have before, or provide you with ideas to spice up future events if you’re an old hand at it!

Today we’re featuring the happy birthday to munzee, Workum- the Netherlands event, which took place on July 1, 2015 at Workum, The Netherlands and was hosted by bordentaxi, feikjen, and felixbongers.

Give us a brief summary about your event!

We planned a Munzee’s 4th birthday event on the 1st of July 2015.

We were a little bit nervous because it was only the second event we had organized.

Event 101 started off to be one of many.

The event location we used was our restaurant, so it was easy for us to receive guests and take care of them. We’re a family of three. Feikjen (my wife) Felix (our son) and myself, Maarten.

Like I said, it was just another event until Louise wrote us an e-mail, saying Rob was going to join our party. He was even going to arrive the evening before, so we had to re-organize the whole thing. Finally, we made it into two events. On the night before (hang out with the “guys” event) we all had dinner on the balcony of our restaurant. Then the main event on the 1st of July. A lot of people stayed overnight, so we organized a common breakfast. After that, a wooden ship with historical value picked us all up, we passed through the lock and after a little tour we ended in our restaurant for coffee, tea & pie, munzee and laughter.

What tips do you have when hosting an awesome event?

Find a nice location. We think it’s handy to pick a spot with a place around where you can get a coffee, stay dry in case of rain and to get warm again if necessary. Then get a Badge and a special capture and set out a nice walk.

What made your event unique?

Definitely the presence of Rob. It was really great fun meeting the person behind coachV and talking to him. What a privilege. Mind you, organizing an event is always fun. You meet fellow players and we have lots of fun.

Would you like to highlight any future events you’re hosting?

You can’t have a birthday without a party, so we organized a 9th birthday event.

https://calendar.munzee.com/event1591535642/

No matter what, we have to be extra creative this time because of the corona restrictions.

We’ve organized 27 events until now, in Holland and abroad, we’ll manage this one as well.

Thank you to bordentaxi for being such a great host and submitting the details for this event! We will be reaching out to other past event hosts in the future, so keep an eye on your inbox!

Pick Peaches and Pears from Earth Mystery Trees!

While fall is typically the season associated with a bountiful harvest, summer has its own delicacies to look forward to! Starting at 12:00 MHQ today, there’s a chance these new scatters will appear after capturing a Tree!

We’re also excited to announce new badges for capturing Tree Scatters. Our mouths are watering at the thought of stuffing our faces with caramelized pastries, whipped cream, and these flavorful fruits!

NEW Earth Mystery Tree Scatters

In March we introduced new scatters for the Earth Mystery, changing from Boulders to Trees. Trees are extra-special since they also release their own scatters once they are capped. It’s scatterception! We promised to introduce more scatters from Trees, so here they are, just in time for some syrupy summer desserts!

Like the Red Apples and Cherry Blossoms, Peaches and Pears are both worth 25 points for Capture. To clarify — Red Apples and Cherry Blossoms will remain as possible scatters for Trees, so you have a chance for any of the 4 types.

Are you excited to capture these juicy new pins? Check your map for any uncaptured Earth Mysteries near you! Don’t see any? Pick some up in our All The Mystery Pack and trade deploys with another local player or you can get 5 Earth credits in our new store item.

Badges

We’ve also created a new badge line based on captures of individual Tree scatters! You can check out the badge for Red Apple captures below, but remember since some of these types have been out longer than others the badge requirements won’t be the same for each!

Apple Pie – Capture 100 Red Apple Scatters.

As these badges are retroactive, you may have already met the requirements for some of them, and should see them on your account soon! If not, please wait a few days as our system catches up with awarding these new badges to everyone who has earned them, before contacting support.

We hope you enjoy this new selection of fresh produce!

Celebrate The New Season With These Greeting Cards!

Tomorrow is the solstice and the official changing of seasons! We thought it might be fun to celebrate with these Open Edition cards so that they can be deployed when appropriate for where you’re from!

We are happy to announce 2 NEW Greeting Cards are now available for purchase! You can pick up Greeting Cards from the Freeze Tag Online Store HERE. Remember, you receive multiple munzees from your single purchase! Read the details in the store, or see below.

If you’re in the Northern Hemisphere, you can tell others “Wish you were here” with a Summer Card!

Otherwise, for those in the Southern Hemisphere, let others know you’re staying frosty with a Winter Card!

Don’t forget to edit the title and the notes to add a personal touch! While the capture message will contain your Munzee username as all Greeting Card capture messages do, we think typing in a more specific season’s greeting will go a long way to creating a more unique and special experience!

    • Birthday
    • Get Well
    • Thank You
    • Congrats
    • Sorry
