The Legend of the Pink Diamond

It’s been almost a month since the Dragons unleashed their fury upon the Munzee map. Traversing the globe and igniting fires has led to chaos among the other two Mythological Munzees. They say beauty comes from chaos, though, and we have stumbled upon some of that beauty.

Among the riches that the Dragons were guarding, we found a never before seen gem. This diamond is believe to have been altered by the fire and strength of the Dragons. It gleams a light shade and has become known as the Pink Diamond. While the history of the Pink Diamond isn’t completely known, we do know the point structure of it:

Deploy: 45 points

Capture: Split of 25 points with owner; minimum of 5 points

CapOn: Split of 25 points with capper; minimum of 5 points

(Examples: 20 points for capper, 5 points for owner; 10 points for capper, 15 points for owner)

The rarity of the Pink Diamond is similar to the Topaz Munzee. As such, the Pink Diamond will be a MunzPak exclusive. It will be introduced for the first time in August’s MunzPak. Munzee With Team Munzee – July

It’s hard to believe that Birthday Month is almost over! Munzee With Team Munzee is next Friday, and we want to end Birthday Month with a bang!

July’s MTWM will take place in The Colony, Texas. We’ll start at Nebraska Furniture Mart and move around as needed. The event will start at 09:15 MHQ time.

Lapels Pins and More!

Team Munzee is constantly listening to and trying new ideas for new munzees, products, and merchandise. From your input and sugestions, we’ve created and added some new items to the Munzee Online Store:

  • Lapel Pins: Along with patches, lapel pins have been one of the most suggested items. We’re happy to announce that we now have two styles of Munzee Lapel Pins in stock with more to come. They’re limited quantity, but more (both quantity and styles) will be available soon.
  • Decals: Plain Munzee Logo Decals are back in stock. We will have new styles of decals available shortly.
  • Apparel: New shirts, including a Dragon Munzee shirt have been added to the store, as well.

Player of the Week: Jeffrey Thompson (Disneyfan4life85)

As Munzee has grown over the years, the game has evolved in so many more ways than any of the co-founders could have imagined. We’ve certainly had our fair share of growing pains, but in its essence Munzee has tried to stick to its core goal of getting people out into the world. No one knows this better than those players who have been with us since the beginning. This week’s Player of the Week is Jeffrey Thompson (Disneyfan4life85).

My name is Jeffrey Thompson, better known as Disneyfan4life85.

Where in the world do you live?
I live in Winchendon, Massachusetts which no one in the state, let alone the rest of the world, knows where that is. 😀

How long have you played Munzee?
Just over two years,

How did you find Munzee?
I actually found out about it while hiking for some containers with my sister (Freecyclestacy) and her husband (Jasnumbs), and we were curious about what we found. We looked it up and found it was a munzee. We were hooked from there.

What do you most enjoy about Munzee?
A couple things I really love:

  1. Meeting new people playing and forming friendships with them, seeing, and meeting up with them.
  2. Deploying. I really love coming up with names and helping people achieve points and different munzees. I love deploying at places I visit such as Florida and my surrounding states. I recently went to Gettysburg, PA for July 4th and earned my Super Duper ULTRA Streak!! As the badge icon shows, I was, to say the least, PUMPED! 😀

What is on your wish list?
It’s a big one, but to Cap and Deploy something in every state in America, and maybe someday, the WORLD 😀

Tell us about yourself:
Well I love the outdoors and hiking. I love spending time with my family and niece and nephew! I love animals, especially a specific famous mouse and everything he’s about 😀

Hiking, Golf, Disc Golf (frolf), Traveling, Movies

Any last words?
A wild explorer is a friend to all, be trees or plants, or tiny fishes, or those that live underground such as moles.

Share Your Referral Code and Win Big!

Last week, we shared Munzee Introduction Flyers which allow you to introduce players of other geo-location based games to Munzee. These flyers are editable to include your own referral code to benefit from these new player signups. That will come in handy for our latest competition.

From tomorrow (July 19th) at 00:01 MHQ time through July 31st at 23:59 MHQ time, we will be having a competition using referral codes. After the time period has passed, we calculate the three players who had their referral codes scanned the most*. The winners will receive gift cards to the Munzee Online Store.

Speaking of the online store, we’ve also added a new Munzee Decal with Referral Code to it!

This sticker will be die-cut (similar to the current Munzee Decal) but will also include your own referral code on it! These are available now and are prices 2 for $5. (Because these are custom, they may take a bit longer to ship than generic stickers or decals.) These are just the start to new, personalized stickers you will be able to get!

Player of the Week: Lori Daiker (Lorimar)

Who are you?
Lori Daiker – Lorimar

Where in the world do you live?
I live in beautiful Clearwater, Florida which is in the Tampa Bay area. We have beautiful beaches.

How long have you played Munzee?
I signed up in November 2014 at a Coexist event in Rome, Georgia, but I started playing seriously in 2015.

How did you find Munzee?
I was introduced to Munzee by Geomsp. She walked me to my first munzee, and I’ve been hooked ever since.

What do you most enjoy about Munzee?IMG_2436
I love getting out and moving!!! I also enjoy the great friends I have made through the game. It’s so much more fun to Munzee in a group, and the events are amazing.

What is on your wish list?
I would love to visit MHQ, and of course, to make it to the top 100 players worldwide.

Tell us about yourself:
I am a registered nurse and have been for 30+ years. I have two amazing adult children. My husband (FDDave) is my Munzee partner. And, of course, there is Marlee, my Dachshund, also known as “Munzee Pup”. All the local players know Marlee. She goes everywhere with me.

Other hobbies include:
Other hobbies???? Who has time for that!!! I play Eventzee and am co-hosting my first Munzee event on July 30th.

Any last words?
I am thrilled to be POTW. Thanks to my amazing friends. Oh, and Munzee On!!

New Products in the Munzee Store

Updated: Now includes Capture and Deploy points for the Prize Wheel.

It’s been talked about and teased since late last year, and we figured Birthday Month would be a great time to release it. The Prize Wheel Munzee is here! Well, almost. Starting Friday, July 15th at 10:00 MHQ time, the Prize Wheel will be available in the Munzee Online Store. They are $5 each, and there is a limit of 10 per player per month.

If you’re unfamiliar with the Prize Wheel, don’t worry. We’ve got you covered. Prize Wheel Munzees take the classic idea of a prize wheel and Munzee-fies it. When captured, you are randomly award points ranging from 20-100 or a credit item plus 10 points. You receive 25 points for both Deploy and CapOn.

We’ve also added three new Mini Urban Camo skins to the store: Laser Warning, Fire Warning, and Globe.

IMG_0002These new Urban Camos are in the store NOW and are on sale at $5 for 20 stickers ($6 regular price) through Sunday at 23:59 MHQ time.

We will be adding a lot of new items to the store in weeks to come, so keep an eye out!
