Hot-Headed Munzees

As far as we can tell, only certain Munzee types have been affected, each one ignited with a blazing filter—like they’ve been cursed by the war god’s axe itself! Even if you’ve captured them before, you’ll have the chance to earn a fresh cap on these Hot-Headed types. So grab your extinguisher and help contain the blaze before this fiery curse spreads any further!

These Hot-Headed Munzees are FlashMOBs just like the Cursed Munzees from last year. This means that the Hot-Headed Munzees are actually a “mask” applied on top of a host munzee: similar to a bouncing munzee, but once capped, they do NOT bounce anywhere else. You have “removed” the mask. All Hot-Headed Munzees will have these new types placed on top of them – only the first to capture on each type will be able to get them! So hurry and rush to capture them before others do!

Special Scatter Details

Upon capturing a Hot-Headed Munzee, up to 3 Hot-Headed Wisps may drift nearby. This is the curse’s last attempt to cling to the map—if it can’t hold onto its original host, it will try to spread its hot-headed affliction through these lingering Wisps! Cap them quickly before the anger spreads any further!

The first, which you can see below, is for capturing at least 13 Hot-Headed Wisps—a challenge worthy of Friday the 13th!

🌼 Catch a Bouncing Virtual Garden at an Event Near You! 🎉

What are Bouncing Virtual Gardens (BVGs)?

Exactly what they sound like — a group of Munzee pins arranged to create a specific design, which bounce around to different locations on the Munzee Map! To start with, we’ve created BVGs with a new type resembling Virtual Colors, which we’ll call “Bouncing Virtual Colors” or “BVCs“. Here are some important things to know about them, which are not covered in other sections:

Bouncing Virtual Colors are Temporary Virtual types — they will bounce around the map for 6 weeks after the garden is filled, then archive.
The point values for BVCs are as follows:
- Deploy: 50
- Capture: 50
- CapOn: 50
Unlike regular Virtual Colors, BVCs CANNOT host bouncers — since they are bouncing themselves, it would be way too messy to allow them to host other munzee types!
- Related to this, BVCs are also NOT magnetizable — we wouldn’t want you to waste your Virtual Magnets!
BVCs CAN be blasted — if the garden will bounce soon, this will help you secure the badge for capturing all the garden pins (more info below)
You can also see and capture your own BVCs, so even if you deploy in a BVG, you can still capture the entire garden, including your own pins!
NOTE – ALL of this information may change in the future, as we’re still testing how all of these behave.

Since Bouncing Virtual Gardens (BVGs) are such a brand new feature, we’re excited to launch them with a special mini test! Keep your eyes peeled for the Bouncing Rainbow Garden—our very first BVG that’s now bouncing around the map. You might spot it at Munzee Events or even at popular Munzee locations near you, giving you the chance to capture its colorful pins and get in on the fun!

Our vision is to eventually allow players to deploy their own pins in BVGs, just like in our other pop-up gardens—but with even more CapOn potential since these gardens travel the map! Plus, we’re hoping to nominate some of the most creative player-designed gardens to become official bouncing gardens, letting us highlight the awesome designs our community creates. For now, though, we’re starting with this test garden to gather valuable feedback and see how players like this new feature. Let us know what you think and what you’d like to see next—your input will help us make BVGs even better!

Where do BVGs bounce to?

At launch, BVGs will bounce to areas near Munzee Events! Of course, as Munzee Events don’t happen every day, when there are no events taking place, the BVG will randomly bounce to other areas on the map. Check our Discord group to see if Rob is looking for suggestions! 😉

When do BVGs bounce?

The amount of time the BVGs stay at a location will be randomized with no guaranteed minimum or maximum. Some locations may host the BVG longer than others so always be on the lookout!

If you’ve found a BVG on the map, you can tap on one of the pins to check how much time you have left to capture it. A purple timer banner should appear under the Munzee Details panel, similar to the gold timer banner you see with other bouncing types:

How can I find a BVG on the map?

We’ve placed BVGs on their own map layer — you can find a new filter on the main Munzee Filters screen (grouped with all the Deploy Mode filters) called “Bouncing Gardens”. Activating this filter will show purple radius circles around the BVG pins.

You can also use the individual BVG filter in the [All Filters] –> [Virtuals] –> [Places] section:

As for the Munzee Website, we’ve added a filter to the [Advanced] tab:

Who can create BVGs? Who can deploy in BVGs?

As we’re still learning about the impact this feature will have on the game, at launch BVGs will only be created by MHQ. However, we’re definitely considering the possibility of opening it up to players as well!

As for deploying in them — yes, you can in the near future! Just like any of our other MHQ-owned Gardens, you can purchase a spot in BVGs, which will deploy a munzee within the garden on your account. Keep your eyes peeled for the upcoming announcement to claim your spot in our very first Bouncing Virtual Gardens! For now, be on the lookout for our first test Bouncing Rainbow Garden.

Why did you create BVGs?

For years, players have been creating their own permanent gardens near event locations.

Similarly, ever since the creation of Greeting Cards, players have been using them to deploy near event locations as well.

Add to that the magic of bouncers, and to us, the BVG was the obvious next step!

Though BVGs are made of temporary pins, we think they’ll be worth your while to deploy in, as they’ll be bouncing around to Munzee Events all over the world! More players will have the chance to capture your pins compared to those in a regular garden.

On the opposite side, as a capper, you may live in an area that does not have any gardens nearby — now, with BVGs, there’s a chance that a garden will travel to you!

Anything else I need to know about BVGs?

When you capture ALL the pins in a BVG, you’ll earn a special badge! If you’ve deployed in the BVG, do not worry — you’ll still be eligible to earn the badge! Here’s what the badge frame will look like — just imagine a beautiful garden design inside the circle:

🥱🌳 Bored of Greenies? Drink a Transform Tonic! 🧪✨

Last year we introduced a new line of Potion Munzees and we’re thrilled to unveil the latest addition to our magical arsenal: the Transform Tonic! This special potion is a game-changer—literally! When activated, it will magically transform the next Greenie you attempt to capture into a completely different random Physical Munzee type, like an Elemental Mystery or Gaming Munzee.

Imagine turning a simple Greenie into a Prize Wheel with the spin of fate! Think of it as a Master of Disguise with a powerful twist—this time, your captures count towards that type’s challenge requirements. The Greenie then returns to the map so you don’t miss out on that daily capture (Premium Member perk). With the Transform Tonic, you’re not just brewing up a boost—you’re crafting your own adventure!

Transform Your Gameplay!

: Transform Tonic

When you deploy a Potion, its effect will automatically be activated for you, and the same goes for other players when they capture it as well! Here is what each Potion does:

Transform Tonic: the next Greenie you capture will transform into another random Physical Munzee type!
- Helpful Hint: Transform Tonic = T for Transform
NOTE – the pool of possible Physical Munzee types Greenies will transform into may change over time! So you’ll never know what you may find.

Potions will remain on the map until they have been captured 3 times. After that, the magic will be all used up! Each player who captures the potion will enjoy the same effect as the brewer.

The point structure for Potions is as follows:

Deploy: 50 points
Capture: 50 points
CapOn: 50 points

Magic System

As Potions are Temporary Virtuals, many of the same rules apply to them. For example:

Potions are visible on the Temporary Layer of the map
Deployers CANNOT capture their own Potions — this is why the effect is automatically applied on deploy
Players CANNOT capture the same Potions more than once
Potions will be archived when a condition is met — as mentioned above, the condition is 3 captures

However, there are also some rules unique to Potions:

They are NOT blastable
Players can only have 1 Potion active at a time — if they attempt to deploy or capture another Potion Munzee with one already active, the app will display an error message
- However, Potions DO stack with Boosters AND Double Point Weekends if they are active, as well as Rover Treats
Potions DO NOT expire, and will remain active until applied to an appropriate deploy or capture
Potions DO apply to deploys done via the Munzee Website (all methods — via the Map page, direct editing of the munzee, Redeem Store, etc.) and via the Freeze Tag Store (i.e. Emeralds, purchased bouncers)
Potions DO NOT apply to auto-deploys (i.e. Evo Bouncers, scatters) as the owner has no control of when those are deployed
Potions DO NOT apply to Socials, Universals and Personals
When you use a Potion of Plenty and capture a type with multiple captures (for example Skyland or Timeshare) then it will only triple the first capture – meaning only the Skyland itself, not any of the bouncers.

Badges

There are currently 2 badge lines for Potions – 1 for deploying each type, and 1 for capturing each type. You can see what the badges for the Transform Tonic look like below:

This year for International Corgi Day, we wanted to mix things up! With the paw-pularity of the Purrito Card we thought it would be fun to feature both animal-themed Flats! Limited Time Scatter Details

From the period of Tuesday, June 3rd at 12:00 MHQ through Sunday, June 8th at 23:59 MHQ, when you capture a Flat Murray, up to 3 different Dog Toys may be scattered nearby! Similarly, when you capture Flat Cats, up to 3 different Cat Toys may be scattered nearby!

As with other Flat Scatters, the Pet Toys will be visible to any player and will be deployed on the Flat owner’s account. This means that unlike Feathers / Boulders, there are CapOn points for the owner! They expire after 120 minutes, have a capture radius of 300 feet, and you’ll be able to use Rover Treats to capture them as well! These pet toy scatters will NOT count for deploy streaks, ZeeOps, or clan activity since they are passive deploys.

The rewards for Pet Toys are as follows:

Capture: 50 points
CapOn: 25 points

🌌 NEW Universals for a Scrap Wars Souvenir! 💚⚔💙

This year’s Scrap Wars have been particularly exciting to follow, as both sides have been neck-and-neck for nearly the entire month! Though the SMS Squad has won many CH3SS battles, the sheer amount of Flat Robs already deployed on the map have kept the ROB Republic following closely behind.

Universally United

Strengthen your bond with the ROB Republic or the SMS Squad by proudly displaying the corresponding Universal for all to see! Track down other players’ Universal codes (if available) online, and enable scanning from your spaceship anywhere in the galaxy.

With the best features of both Social and Personal Munzees, players can capture Universals from anywhere, and activity on it earns points. Due to its high value, we are limiting them to one per player. Don’t miss out on these limited edition Universals—available at the links below until Monday, June 16th at 12:00 MHQ. Both of these Universals will also count towards the respective ROB vs SMS competition!

A Universal has the same point structure as a regular Personal:

Deploy: 100 points (only deploy it once with no proximity or expiration!)

**Boosters will have no effect on Universal points.

⚔️ June 2025 Clan Wars Requirements 🛡️

Leverage the June Gloom’s cooler temps! June brings fresh Clan War requirements to keep everyone on their toes.
