Freeze Tag HQ Birthday Event July 21 and New Emerald Garden!

Munzeers of the world,

Step right up and join the first official Munzee Birthday party supported at, near, and around Freeze Tag HeadQuarters in sunny Southern California. If you are able to join us in person we have quite a treat for you! Be sure to log your “Will Attend” on the calendar so we can be prepared for the crowds! We have several great things in store for you, and more still in the works!

  • Unique badge available only at this event!
  • Unique WallaBee item in game and physical stickers for your WallaBee Passport
  • FREE Sample ZeeTour available around the Irvine Regional Park
  • Eventzee Scavenger Hunt
  • Prizes, Snacks, and *ZOO animals

If you aren’t able to join us in Irvine Regional Park it’s OK because we have opportunities for you as well. First we’ve created a spreadsheet to help build a virtual garden on site! If you have any spare MVM in your undeployed list please join us! If you have other types of virtuals and want to accumulate some cap on points, or just give players something more to cap, you can deploy nearby as well!

And finally, we want there to be plenty of opportunities for points so we’d like to welcome you to purchase an emerald in the brand new FTHQ emerald garden. Be sure to choose FTHQ Emerald in the drop down option! There is a limited quantity of these emeralds (one per account) and the office is less than 10 miles from the birthday event location. While there currently aren’t tours of the FTHQ office it is growing in popularity for deploys and you never know what the future holds!

We hope you choose to join us in person, or in virtual participation as we celebrate Munzee’s birthday for the first time at FTHQ!

*Zoo animals are inside the OC Zoo and not actually part of the Munzee event but you get the picture 😉 In other words, you have to pay and visit the zoo to actually see zoo animals. It’s only $2 and Craig says it’s great! We’re not certified monkey (or lion) tamers, we only play them on Youtube.

Big news about Flats and Bonus points in July!

We know it’s a little early for July’s Flat Schedule, but we wanted to make sure you had plenty of time to prepare for the fun that our Birthday month will bring!

ALL Flats will be on the map for the entire month of JULY so we can celebrate at events all over the world. That’s not the only good news about July though, members of the team want to give you special cause to get out there and cap those Munzees!

Louise has a HUGE race on July 8th so *Flat Lous will be double points that day. July 29th is the conclusion of the Tour de France so she will also celebrate with double points on that day!

Matt and Rob are looking forward to celebrating some big “Round of 16” matches in the World Cup! Expect double points on *Flat Robs and *Flat Matts on July 1-3.

And finally, while Daniel Fischer isn’t Flat he is a proud German! Germany is a powerhouse in world football so he wants to get extra support for his team.

  • If Germany advances to the quarter-finals there will be quadruple points on all *greenie munzees on July 6-7.
  • If Germany advances to the semi-finals there will be double points on all *jewel munzees on July 10-11.
  • If Germany advances to the FINALS there will be double points on ALL *physical munzees on July 15.

*This will include capture, cap on, and deploy points*

Hello everyone! Wow, the response for birthday events in July has reached new levels! Trish’s time is almost completely filled for the entire month so we will be cutting off new artwork requests. There will be generic badge options available for events that continue to join the calendar. If you have pending requests they will be dealt with in the order received. Under The Big Top- TX Birthday Bash Event

Come one come all for the Cirque Du Munz! Join our Texas offices next month for our Under The Big Top birthday celebration in North Texas.

On Saturday July 14th, 2018 at 10 AM the MHQ Staff will celebrate seven silly years at Celebration Park in Allen, TX. This park is a former MHQ Bash location and has continued to be a hotspot of Munzee activity so come ready to cap! When the flats are out this field is really covered!

The event will feature an awesome badge (featured below), some event goodies, circus themed snacks and more! You can also bet there might be some exclusive personals for sale.

Like a good sibling, WallaBee will also be supporting Munzee’s big birthday with a Unique and some spectacular Circus Set stickers! Be sure to bring your passport books. The Unique will be available worldwide, but a special variant will be available to those in attendance.

Cirque Du Munz Birthday Events!

Come one, come all, for Zee Greatest Show on Earth! Welcome to Cirque Du Munz!

For Munzee’s seventh birthday we’ve decided to run off to the circus! Come join us under the big top for the entire month of July. We’ll have specials, spectacles, and surprises of all sorts. Stay tuned for more information in the coming weeks, but per usual our Events Manager Louise wanted to give all of you a heads up so YOU can start planning your own circus events. Learn more below!

Ready To Ride with Flat Lou?

Our Flat friends, Flat Rob and Flat Matt, have become a staple of the game and we’re excited to announce a certain flat female is joining their ranks- say hello to Flat Lou!

Three years ago Louise Gibson took over the management of our worldwide player run events. She streamlined the process, improved communication, and provided excellent customer service around the clock in her first few weeks. Over the course of her three years Louise has interacted with hundreds of different player hosts, managing over 1500 unique events.  After three years as an extraordinary Events Manager, she has more than earned her spot among her two-dimensional pals.

The first Flat Lou will be released as a permanent special at Tower Bridge in London, England on May 1st at 15:00 MHQ and they’ll go on sale at the same time in the Freeze Tag Online Store. Flat Lous work much like the other Flats, but there are some differences.

As a not-so-flat-footed cyclist, Flat Lous will be activated at various times including when Louise is racing, when she attends Munzee events, major event seasons and more. Please note that all scheduled times are based on MHQ time and are subject to change. To start things off with a bang though, Flat Lous will be active for the entire month of May.

Another thing that makes Flat Lou so special is that she helps give back too! In connection to Freeze Tag’s sponsorship of the American Diabetes Association, $0.25 of each Flat Lou sale will be donated to ADA to help diabetes research and awareness. Flat Lous will also be active during each Tour de Cure race weekend throughout the year as well.

Flat Lou virtual pieces will be for sale in the Freeze Tag Online Store tomorrow for $4.25, and there will also be a limited amount of the Flat Trio design Personal Munzee tags too. Premium members can also expect a free Flat Lou tomorrow at 17:01 MHQ as well. You can sign up for a Premium Membership at HERE.

Cap/CapOn – Split 78 points with a minimum of 10 points.

Proximity: 

Flat Lous’ proximity is not affected by other munzees except other Flats. Flat Lous must be 50ft from other players’ deploys and 150ft from your own deploys.

You’ll also be able to earn a variety of badges for capturing and deploying Flat Lous.

We’re also excited to announce that we’re launching a new emerald garden at Louise’s favorite training site- Richmond Park in London! The roads around the park even make a pin shape too! The ceLOUbration continues around the world with special player-run Louise Gibson Appreciation Society (LGAS) events throughout May. These events have been entirely set up by player hosts to show their appreciation for Louise’s event management efforts. Introducing the new Temporary Virtual!

UPDATE: As of November 2019 Temporary Virtuals no longer expire 30 days after they are purchased. Now Temp Virts will expire 30 days after they have been deployed. 

We’re excited to announce a new product called the Temporary Virtual! This new virtual item would allow players to deploy in areas that would usually not be beneficial to place a more expensive game piece or to help other players hit goals.

Much like Flat Robs and Flat Matts. these new items will be on a new layer of the map, so you don’t have to worry about trying to deploy in areas that are already overrun with other munzees. This will be especially helpful for deploying at high profile events like Munzee Madness this weekend in Southern California!

These new items are currently for sale in the Munzee Online Store and available on Quick Deploy as of 10:00 MHQ!

International “Thank You” Day Specials!

Rob realized writing individual “Thank You” notes to everyone wasn’t exactly feasible, so we decided to go in a different direction. In celebration of International Thank You Day, we’re proud to announce we’re celebrating in the best way possible: By sending out “Thank You” cards! Over the next few days you’ll be able to capture “Thank You” note specials from Louise, Rob and Matt.

The International Thank You Day specials will go live on the map at 00:01 Thursday January 11th and last through 23:59 on Sunday January 14th. There will be 1,000 of each of the icons (3,000 in total) bouncing on greenies every 6 hours or when capped. When you cap any of these icons, you will earn 18 points, and the owner of the host munzee will earn 11 points.

We know what you’re thinking: What good is a “Thank You” card if you can’t read what’s inside? Well when you capture one of the icons you’ll also earn the badge for that “Thank you” note and get to see what the cards says. Will you be able to capture all three?

Per usual these will also count toward the Special Hunter badge line, so be sure to cap as many as you can! You can capture these specials on your own munzees and they will all be attracted to Magnets.

MHQ Bash 5 Dates!

Hey, everyone!

Back in 2014, we held the inaugural MHQ Bash. It’s hard to believe that this will be our 5th year, but we’re ready to make this one the best we’ve ever had! While we can’t share all of the details yet, we can tell you the dates.

MHQ Bash 5 will be held Friday, October 26th through Sunday, October 28th, 2018! We currently have 4 events (Friday Night, Saturday Morning, Saturday Evening, and Sunday Morning) on the Munzee Calendar, and we will be updating you with more information as soon as we can share it.

We hope to see you in McKinney in October!
