The Nostalgia is Strong With These 20/20 Vision Munzees!

Missing the great outdoors? Why not bring the great outdoors to you? If you are able to cap physical munzees safely and legally, keep an eye out for these rare game pieces! Our ninth 20/20 Vision Munzee will surround your peepers with lush, beautiful environments! These sturdy slide viewers were deployed this afternoon at 15:00 MHQ. Do you still have one of these lying around in your garage?

Only five Viewfinders will be deployed, and they will bounce to Greenies every 12 hours or when captured. These will be attracted to Physical Magnets though so be sure to stock up!

According to the National Toy Hall of Fame, the View-Master stereoscope was first released in 1939! Quite a surprising fact, considering most people born before the year 2000 consider it a relic of their childhood — turns out it’s been around since grandparents were children! Which slides did you own? We can clearly remember viewing landscapes from Disney’s The Lion King — using your imagination, you could insert yourself into scenes with Simba, Timon, and Pumbaa!

You’ll be able to capture the 20/20 Vision specials on other players’ munzees as well as your own for the remainder of the year! As a reminder, all 20/20 Vision specials will leave the map on 12/31/2020 at 23:59 MHQ. More unique 20/20 Vision specials will launch throughout the year so keep on the lookout — you won’t want to miss out on these bouncy bifocals!

World Laughter Day Specials — Because We All Need a Good Laugh Right Now!

We’re pretty sure most people have a bad case of cabin fever, so what better way to take your mind off of it than with some humor? World Laughter Day specials are out NOW, featuring jokes that have passed our staff’s (somewhat low) standards! (Note: Freeze Tag is not liable for any head injuries sustained after reading a corny World Laughter Day joke ?.)

Our World Laughter Day specials will launch at 10:00 MHQ time on May 1, with 503 hitting the map until 23:59 MHQ time on May 17! Though there will only be one icon shown on the map, there are a possibility of 10 different icons that will not be visible until captured, similar to how the Greeting Cards work. Also similar to our Magic 8 Ball special last year! They will bounce around every 303 minutes or when capped.

Each of the 10 icons will correspond to a different joke! Will you be able to collect them all?

These Virtual Munzees will not be blastable. They will bounce to all virtual colors and be attracted to Virtual Magnets, available from the Freeze Tag Online Store. You can access the World Laughter Day specials under the “All Expiring Specials” and “All Limited Specials” filters.

These 20/20 Vision Munzees Will Have You Jumping in Your Seat!

With our stay-at-home orders, there’s been a lot more time to catch up on movies we’ve missed, or rewatch old favorites. You may even have some fancy disks that are capable of showing a film in 3D! Our eighth 20/20 Vision Munzee is the perfect pairing to those DVDs or Blu-Rays! These cellophane clarifiers were deployed this afternoon at 15:00 MHQ. Don’t get too immersed into the movie — you might break something!

Only four pairs of 3D Glasses will be deployed, and they will bounce to all colors of virtuals every 12 hours or when captured. These will be attracted to Virtual Magnets though so be sure to stock up!

Similar to our Theater Goggles post, the American Film Institute has created a Movie Club to help you decide what to watch at home! While they are not offering free movie streaming, they do direct you to where you can watch the movies on services you might already be paying for, such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Disney+. What are your recommendations for movies to watch in 3D? The quick movements in action movies lend themselves to popping out of the screen, but we’d love to hear of movies from other genres that are enhanced by a 3D viewing as well!

Keep Up with Munzee News AND Specials Inside the App!

We love how active our player community is, especially on social media, which definitely helps to grow the game! This blog, our social media accounts, and in-app messages, are just some of the many ways we communicate updates to our players.

We’re now making it easier than ever to keep up with all of the latest Munzee news right in the app. With this latest update, we hope to bridge the gap between this living app and you!

NEW What’s New? Section

This new section of the app can be found by tapping the Hamburger Menu icon at the top left corner of most of the app’s screens, then by tapping on [What’s New?] between the [Store] and [Notifications] buttons.

Similar to the Filters section, there are 3 tabs at the top that allow you to switch between the following subsections:

News – shows the most recent blog posts in button form, with the newest at the top of the list. Tapping on any of the buttons will open that blog post in your device’s default browser.
Featured – shows all active Munzee Owned Bouncers (MOBs) AND temporary Player Owned Bouncers (tPOBs) in button form, with the soonest to leave the map at the top of the list. Tapping on any of the buttons will open a window in your device’s default browser showing all the relevant blog posts.
Schedule – shows all active scheduled munzees (Flat Friends, QRewzees, and RetireMyths) in button form, with the soonest to leave the map at the top of the list. Tapping on any of the buttons will open the current schedule for that munzee in your device’s default browser.

When there’s new information released you’ll also see a red icon next to “What’s New?” to let you know there’s been some breaking news! We’re still putting out in-app messages, emails, social posts and more, but this section is meant so players can easily access a collective area for all their Munzee news.

Button Migration

To make room for the [What’s New?] button, we moved the old [Offline Mode] button into the [Tools] section, and renamed it [Offline Queue].

We hope you find this NEW app section useful, whether you’re at home reading the latest blog post or out in the wild hunting the current active MOBs!

If you are allowed to roam about your neighborhood for some fresh air, you might find a rare surprise waiting for you! Our seventh 20/20 Vision Munzee is guaranteed to elicit some giggles from those who dare to look upon your face! These springy accessories were deployed this afternoon at 15:00 MHQ. Now you’ll really be able to keep an eye on things!

The myriad personality types out there mean there are as many different senses of humor. In recent years, the Dad joke has risen in popularity, but there are still many out there who prefer a more subtle humor. Regardless, it’s hard not to laugh at someone wearing a quality pair of Joke Glasses. We think the beauty lies in the realistic eyeball popping out of the wearer’s face, only to be dragged back up and then back down again due to the attached spring. It’s just so over-the-top that laughing is a gut reaction!

Our sixth 20/20 Vision Munzee will let you experience the show as if you were right in front of the stage! These elegant magnifiers were deployed this afternoon at 15:00 MHQ. Maybe your bird’s-eye view won’t be so bad after all!

As of March 16, The Metropolitan Opera has been streaming a new opera each night for FREE on their homepage! A few, such as Carmen, Tristan und Isolde, and Macbeth are perhaps the most-well known to the general public, but this is a great opportunity to become a little more cultured and give the other lesser-known operas a shot! At the time of writing, these free operas are scheduled up until April 5th! While you won’t need Theatre Binoculars to view them, if you are lucky enough to own a pair, why not hold them in one hand as you watch? It’ll probably be a great arm workout!

Our fifth 20/20 Vision Munzee will shield your eyes from the sun’s rays, even those bouncing off all the reflective white snow! These lime green goggles were deployed this afternoon at 15:00 MHQ. These goggles will look great off the slopes as well, giving your outfit a touch of futuristic cool.

According to Forbes, in the most recent Winter Olympics, the ski goggles of choice for many athletes were from Oakley’s Harmony Fade collection:

ZeeOps- Operation: RE:vive (February 2020)

At the end of last year, ZeeOps HQ’s Neurological Memory Technology was under attack by The Rising Sons. Although it was believed that enemies had hacked ZeeOps HQ’s Neurological Memory Technology, it turns out it was a sleeper cell within our ranks. In fact it was the recently rescued Director Zee that forced agents to relive previous ZeeOps missions! It seems the Rising Sons really did a number on Director Zee…

Unfortunately, we’ve had to purge much of the corrupted data, and Director Zee is still on the mend after he was brainwashed by the Rising Sons. Although this is disheartening, we have found a silver lining: our training prompts appear to be jogging some of the Director’s memories! It’s up to you to help the Director regain control by reliving specific past missions. Can you revive the heart of ZeeOps HQ?

February 2020 ZeeOps Operations are now live and you can begin planning your Missions to start on the following day. You will only have until February 29th at 23:59 MHQ to complete this month’s Operations. There are only two Operation types available for this month- the Basic Op (3 days) and the Advanced Op (7 days). The window of time to complete missions may be shorter, but we believe in you!

You can plan your Operations at munzee.com/ops/ and purchase more ZeeCred in the Freeze Tag Online Store. Remember that if you hit a snag at any point in your Operation you can use the Mission Mulligan feature to keep going! This month features a variety of munzee types so be sure to stock up in the Freeze Tag Online Store.

By completing any Operation this month you’ll earn the “Operation: RE:vive” badge.

This month’s Missions are as follows:

Level 1

Defensive Training – Deploy at least 10 munzees.
Offensive Training – Capture at least 25 munzees.
Basic Training + – Earn at least 1000 points.
Seeing Stars I – Capture at least 15 Zodiac Munzees of any type.
Bountiful Bouncers – Capture at least 6 of any type of POB.

Level 2

Group Training – Earn at least 500 cap-on points.
Precious Stone Stockpiler – Capture at least 20 jewels.
Spurious Stones – Deploy at least 5 jewels.
Exemplary Evolutions – Deploy at least 10 physical or virtual Evolution Munzees.
It’s Not Easy Being Green – Capture at least 15 and deploy at least 5 Greenies.

Completing Operations will give you some hard earned rewards as well.

2 Virtuals, 2 Virtual Colors, 1 Sapphire, 1 Briefcase, 125 Zeds and 5 ZeeCred
