Featured Munzee Tookit: Helga Marten (Mieze)

One of the best parts about Munzee is that you can play how you want. Everyone goes about playing a bit differently, and that leads to some very creative and innovative uses of objects. From containers to bags to maintenance, we always encounter something new when we meet players. We want to showcase your Munzee Toolkits to see how you play the game and possibly even inspire other players who may need help. This week’s featured Munzee Toolkit comes from Helga Marten (Mieze).

Who are you? 
I’m Helga Marten from Germany (near Stuttgart), and my username is Mieze.

What’s in your toolkit? 
The first picture is my rucksack. It holds all of my things:

 

Next is a box which holds all of my Munzees, sorted by type.

I also carry:

  • a pair of scissors so I can cut the munzees
  • a glove with metal parts to use my phone when it is very cold
  • a self-made extension (ruler) with a rubber band to hold my phone so as to get an “extended arm” — this was invented by Engel19; we are on the road with him quite often
  • my Personal Munzee

I also keep snacks and water with me for longer days.

Finally, I keep a powerbank with me.

Munzee Zodiac Coinz

We’re happy to introduce the newest addition to the Munzee Coinz: the Zodiac Coinz!

Zodiac Coinz can be set to track all types of Zodiac Munzees that you capture. They will be available in the Munzee Online Store here on Wednesday, March 29th at 15:00 MHQ time for $10 each. There are a limited number of Zodiac Coinz available, so don’t miss out!

Hello, Munzee. My name is Logan Haberer from Ozark, Arkansas, and my username is Fireplz3.

What’s in your toolkit? 
This is my Munzee toolkit that I carry around; it is small yet holds everything I need.

My toolkit includes:

  • Tree and trail tags
  • A Pelican 1040 to store my extra munzees
  • An umbra case to protect the munzees I carry
  • A Leatherman
  • A headlamp
  • A battery backup

Challenge Accepted! – Rob and Matt Head to Tyler

This weekend, Rob and Matt will be joining Space Coast Geo Store (Dale and Barb) in Tyler, Texas. They will be milling around the area for most of Saturday and attending the Space Coast Comes to Tyler, TX event on Saturday evening. If you’re in the area, come and join them for great Munzee times as well as a meet and greet with some of the MHQ staff.

For anyone who can’t attend this event, we hope you enjoy 3x Point Weekend and Flat Robs being on the map! Let’s make this weekend a memorable one!

What’s in your Munzee Toolkit?

We have 3 players in our house.

First, we have our organizers (small tackleboxes) for our munzees. We have our name on the outside of each box and then G (greenies) or S (special) on each compartment,

Next, we have what is actually a nail care kit that comes in handy for repairing munzees. I’ve actually saved a few that were painted over with this.

Then, we have out flashlight for finding the non-glow-in-the-dark munzees at night.

And finally, we have out bag. It fits all of our organizers, flashlight, and nail kit. It has a net pocket on the side that we put the the sticker backs in. It also has a pocket for my keys so I don’t have to keep track of them while out capping and deploying.

Munzee Places – Zoo and Animal Sanctuary Suggestions

In conjunction with our Safar-Zee March Fundraiser, we will be releasing new Places Munzees! We need your help, though!

Zoo Places Munzee

Through Wednesday, March 15th at 23:59 MHQ time, we will be taking suggestions for Zoo Places Munzee locations. These locations can be zoos, wildlife preserves, or animal sanctuaries. We will compile the suggestions and begin deploying these new Places Munzees during the month of March.

All you have to do is go to this Google Form and provide your username, the name of the proposed location, and the coordinates of the location.

Let the Safar-Zee begin!

Last week we announced our March fundraising effort would focus on helping wildlife worldwide and now we’re excited to go into more detail on how YOU can help the majestic beasts of the wild.

For the month of March we will be selling Paw Print special virtual icons in the Munzee Online Store and all proceeds will go to help world wildlife rescue organizations.

These special Paw Prints will be on sale from now until the end of the month and the munzees will stay on the map through 23:59 MHQ Time on April 30, 2017.

For $5 you get a pack of 5 different Paw Print icons, each featuring a different animal print: Paw, Talon, Hoof, Foot, and Claw. Players will be limited to 20 sets of five Paw Print specials,

There are also a variety of badges you can earn for capping and deploying these temporary icons.The Safar-Zee, Charity Paw Prints and Animal Expedition badges will only be available while the charity specials are on the map so get to capping.

In connection to raising money for a worldwide wildlife rescue organization, we’ve also hired a new local member of the MHQ team- Meet Mystery!

To add a local spin to our worldwide initiative Munzee has adopted Mystery for the year through In-Sync Exotics, an exotic feline rescue group based out of Wylie, TX.

In order to offer Mystery and her other furry friends everything they need we have set up a permanent Munzee Virtual Garden outside of In-Sync’s headquarters. You can help make Mystery welcome to the Munzee team by purchasing a golden paw print virtual icon for $10. The pins will be automatically deployed at the location.

Players are limited to one paw print pin and this virtual garden will be permanently placed at 3430 Skyview Drive in Wylie, TX 75098.

3x Point Weekend – March 17th

The month of March is filled with an abundance of the color green. As you know, we’re quite fond of the color green ourselves, so we’re celebrating on St. Patrick’s Day weekend!

From Friday, March 17th at 00:01 MHQ time until Sunday, March 19th at 23:59 MHQ time, we’ll be having a 3x Point Weekend for our favorite green munzees, including:

  • Greenies
  • Shamrocks
  • Emeralds

This will effect all points — Deploys, Captures, and CapOns.

That’s not all, though. In celebration of St. Patrick’s Day, Leprechauns will be bouncing faster than normal. During this time frame, Leprechauns will bounce every 6 hours (or when capped) instead of every 12 hours.
