Help Our Friends Down Under With The Australia Relief Virtual Garden!

UPDATE 1/15/2020:

All the Kangaroo Garden in Adelaide, the Koala Garden in Melbourne, and the Wombat Garden in Sydney are all SOLD OUT. Thank you all for your support!

We have also updated the donation locations to better match the areas of the gardens. The funds raised from the Melbourne Koala Garden will actually be sent to the Country Fire Authority (CFA) and the funds raised from the new Sydney Wombat Garden will be sent to the NSW Rural Fire Service. The gardens are the same size so there is no difference in donation amount assuming all are sold. Apologies for the confusion on our part!

Last week we announced some special guests were attending the upcoming Australia Day events Down Under, but we also mentioned some possible opportunities to support those affected by the wildfires. We’ve probably all watched the destruction taking place in Australia from the wildfires and we wanted to help in some way.

One virtual munzee will automatically be deployed in the Sydney Garden after it has been purchased. 30% of the proceeds from this item will support emergency relief efforts through a donation to the The NSW Rural Fire Service. To learn more about NSW RFS please visit https://www.rfs.nsw.gov.au/about-us.

Here is the product link to the Melbourne Aussie Garden- Sydney. *SOLD OUT*

We have launched a new Koala virtual garden dedicated to providing some relief to the affected animals and communities in and around Melbourne. 30% of the proceeds from the sales of this specific garden will be donated to the Country Fire Authority (CFA). To learn more about CFA please visit https://www.cfa.vic.gov.au/about/supporting-cfa#donate-cfa.

Here is the product link to the Melbourne Aussie Garden- Melbourne. *SOLD OUT*

Today we are launching a new Kangaroo virtual garden dedicated to providing some relief to the affected animals and communities in and around Adelaide. 30% of the proceeds from the sales of this specific garden will go to the Kangaroo Island Wildlife Park, located just off the coast of Adelaide. This garden is near the upcoming Australia Day events, and thankfully the hosts have informed us the area is safe from fires.

Here is the product link to the Aussie Garden- Adelaide. *SOLD OUT*

Your $1 Virtual Munzee purchase in this garden will automatically deploy a virtual for your account. Each player account is limited to 10 virtuals in each of the gardens. Please note that if you purchased the max amount of spots in one garden you can still purchase up to 10  spots in another garden as well.

Thank you for supporting both our game, and the animals in Australia. Stay tuned because we have another unique way you can help bouncing your way soon.

Event Spotlight: FL Suncoast Event III

While Munzee can certainly be a solo game if you choose, there’s no denying the appeal in meeting others who share your interests. Munzee Events are perhaps the best example of this, as they allow you to meet both old and new players in a safe, friendly environment. On top of that, there are usually activities, games, and — if you’re lucky — goodie bags! That being said, planning events requires a considerable amount of effort. So, to make it easier for prospective hosts (and maybe even recurring hosts), we decided to put the spotlight on past events, Munzee-Toolkit style! We hope this series of posts will inspire you to try hosting an event if you never have before, or provide you with ideas to spice up future events if you’re an old hand at it!

Today we’re featuring the FL Suncoast Event III, which took place on January 14, 2017 at Medard Park in Plant City, FL and was hosted by hunniees, dt07751, Jafo43, and EagleDadandXenia.

Give us a brief summary about your event!

The Suncoast Event is held in the Florida Munzee belt in central Florida and is the largest munzee event held in the US, not associated with Geowoodstock or Freeze Tag. The Suncoast event is actually a series of Munzee events held throughout the weekend in various locations throughout Florida’s Suncoast. While these events are held over the holiday weekend in January, we can guarantee the location sites are always snow free. :-).

We have a team of hosts who make this event possible so that we may provide a lunch of walking tacos, donuts, and sweet treats for our attendees and give away prizes to registrants without charge.

We try to provide a weekend filled with fun, Munzee, badges, icons, and a game or two of Eventzee. Our attendees also are provided with a map of Florida gardens (goo.gl/tikFn3) to help our guests maximize their points over the weekend.

What tips do you have when hosting an awesome event?

(1) Have your events and Eventzee go live before your event begins. This will allow you time to assure everything is working properly and resolve any issues identified before all your attendees arrive.

(2) Identify a great group of hosts who are willing to work together to assure success.

(3) Keep it simple. If you try to do too much, your attendees won’t have time to chat or enjoy the event.

(4) Have fun!

What made your event unique?

Our event is held in a great snow-free location in Florida with access to millions of munzee points. While the food and prizes stay the same, we try to vary the event sites and offer new gardens for capping each year.

Would you like to highlight any future events you’re hosting?

https://calendar.munzee.com/event1572898151/

This year Suncoast events will be held January 17 and January 18 in Brandon and Tampa, Florida. Full details and links to additional events are available at the calendar link.

A special thank you to hunniees for submitting the details for this event! We will be reaching out to other hosts in the future, so keep an eye on your inbox! To encourage helpful input from past hosts, we have created a shiny new badge which you can see below! Everyone who is listed as a host for a spotlighted event will receive this badge!

Thank you to hunniees, dt07751, Jafo43, and EagleDadandXenia for being such great hosts!

Continue Caroling with the 12 Days of Texmas!

Ho, Ho, Howdy! Before we closed our offices, we thought we’d schedule in one more surprise for y’all!

Alongside our Ho Ho Hoedown Christmas Events, these specials are a holiday tribute to Munzee’s Texas roots. As you may have seen on our Facebook Page earlier today, our CZeeO is quite a caroler! We wanted to share his joy of Christmas music with all our players, so we came up with our very own “12 Days of Texmas” specials! The first day’s special is now on the map, but you’ll have to stay tuned each day to see what the newest special is!

Kringle’s Cowboy Hat Special

A new special will go live on each of the 12 Days (6 physical, 6 virtual), but at varying times each day — we want you to be surprised! All 12 specials will remain on the map until January 6 at 23:59 MHQ time. Depending on the special’s type, it will either bounce to greenies or virtuals every 6 hours or when captured, and be attracted to the corresponding Magnets.

A different number of bouncers will be released for each icon, but to start off 110 Kringle’s Cowboy Hats will be on the map until the 6th. To access these specials, please turn on your “All Expiring Specials” and “All Limited Edition Specials” filters.

Points

  • Cap: 120
  • CapOn (Host): 120

Additionally, there will be three badges to earn based on number of captures of 12 Days of Texmas specials. But just how many captures it takes to earn all 3 badges will be kept a secret! However, we will reveal the first badge in the line, which appears as follows:

Prairie Pecan Pie- Capture at least one 12 Days of Texmas Special of any type.

We hope you’ll enjoy learning a new lyric each day! What other Texas themed holiday gifts might be in store? Y’all will just have to wait and find out!

Together we can bring The Rising Sons to their knees, although it appears that the enemy’s stranglehold on HQ has made some messes.

Bowling Ball Munzee Details

UPDATE: This blog was originally posted in November 2018. As of November 2019, the Bowling Ball Munzee has been updated,  reflected by the information below. You can find complete information about all Gaming Munzees on the Help Guide.

As promised, we have the details for the ALL NEW Bowling Ball Munzee! This addition to the Gaming Munzees is sure to knock a few pins loose! The Bowling Ball point system is based on ten-pin bowling, and you will have a chance to earn more points based on how many “pins” you “knock down.”

BASIC GAMEPLAY:

Bowling Ball Munzee:

Are you ready to play this classic game the Munzee way? Capturing a Bowling Ball will award you 25 points to start. The Bowling Ball Munzee will then initiate a mini-game (within a game, within a game!) for more points. Capturing a Bowling Ball Munzee will lead to a new virtual munzee called “Bowling – 1st Roll” being scattered to a location within 750 ft. You will be able to see the second stage (1st Roll) only after stage one (Bowling Ball) is captured. The scattered munzees will remain active for 1 hour or until captured from within a 150ft distance.

1st Roll Munzee:

Capturing the 1st Roll Munzee, released after Capturing the Bowling Ball, will provide different options for players. If you earn a STRIKE, you will be awarded 300 points, and the game will be done. You also have the opportunity to earn anywhere between 1-9 points (one for each pin “knocked” down), and the game will advance to a virtual “2nd Roll,” which will be scattered within 500ft.

2nd Roll Munzee:

A 2nd Roll Munzee will be made available to players who have capped a Bowling Ball and a 1st Roll and did not earn a Strike on the 1st Roll. When the 2nd Roll Munzee is captured, players will either earn a SPARE and be awarded 150 points, or they will earn between 10-80 points based on number of pins “knocked” down. Either way, this will conclude the game!

POINT BREAKDOWN:

Bowling Ball Munzee

  • Deploy: 50 points
  • Capture: 25 points
  • CapOn: 20 points

ZeeOps- Operation: 1UP (November 2019)

After the fall of ZeeOps HQ more than a year ago it seemed all hope was lost. Thankfully surviving ZeeOps agents have formed a secret rebellion known as The Gamers. Although the Mean Green Gang has been dealt a critical blow, there is still much work to do if we want to avenge the legacy of ZeeOps.

The Gamers’ rebellion was a brutal strike to the Mean Green Gang, but there are more nefarious enemies to take down. If we want to stop these culprits we’ll need to pull out the big guns. Introducing the Treehouse and Magnet Burnout!

There are about to be a lot of happy Player Owned Bouncer owners, because our latest map addition is targeted to increase the number of caps on POBs while decreasing the clutter on the map. More points and less mess— what is this awesome new munzee called?! Please welcome the Treehouse Munzee to the map!

Treehouse Munzee

The Treehouse Munzee is a physical Destination Munzee that allows up to 6 POBs to land on it. This all new munzee fits into the Destination line of munzee types, but it also contains the ability to be captured once per player per 24 hour MHQ day just like Places Munzees! That’s right, the Treehouse Munzee means plenty of capping opportunities.

Does this extra special munzee sound familiar at all to some of you? Players who purchased the MHQ Bash King’s Court package have been awarded a Treehouse Munzee credit, which was included in the package as a new in-game item. The rest of you will have to wait a short time to pick up your Treehouse Munzees! They will be made available for purchase to the public sometime in the next week, but you can read about them now! Players will also be able to cap Treehouses deployed by King’s Court purchasers in the meantime, so there is still fun to be had!

Points:

  • Deploy: 100 points
  • Cap: 10 points + points for whatever POBs are in the Treehouse at the time of capture.
  • CapOn: 25 points

The deploy circle for Treehouses will be 1,000 feet (304.8 m) from the nearest Treehouse, all other normal 50/150 feet proximity rules apply. To access the Treehouse Munzee, turn on your Physical filter and find it under “Destinations”. It’s also included in the Premium filters under “All Mythologicals” and “All Expiring Specials”.

Please note the following special information about the Treehouse Munzee:

  • The Treehouse Icon will change to show the number of POBs hanging out. Players will see the base icon for 0, but then a 1-6 as more bouncers stop by.
  • This munzee can be capped once daily regardless of the number of POBs hanging out. New POB landings do NOT refresh the capture setting.
  • A Treehouse will attract up to 6 POBs over time, but you can use a physical Munzee Magnet to draw a total of 6 POBs much quicker.
  • Only physical Myths and Variants will land on a Treehouse (No MOBs, TOBs, Pouch Creatures, Fancy Flats, or virtual Myths).
  • The Regular POB timer is still in effect. If a POB times out, it leaves the Treehouse and leaves an open spot for others to join.

Why use a Treehouse? This extra special munzee has the following awesome advantages:

  • Quick and high points
  • Easy access to multiple POB caps at once
  • The ability to share the love with other POB owners
  • Achieve POB clan requirements quicker

The Treehouse Munzee does not have a badge line at this time, but it will count toward the overall Destination capture line the first time you cap it. That means daily caps will not count toward badges, only the first time you cap it.

For more information about the Treehouse Munzee, how to deploy it, and exactly what types will land on it, check out our Help Guide article!

Magnet Burnout

In addition to the Treehouse Munzee, we’re excited to announce that we have removed the purchase limit on both physical and virtual Munzee Magnets! Now players can buy as many Munzee Magnets and Virtual Magnets as they like from the Freeze Tag Online Store.

However, with the new update Greenies and Virtuals will only be able to be magnetized 3 times a day. After that, the munzee will be “burned out” and unable to be magnetized until the next MHQ day. This “burn out” is 3x per player, per MHQ day. In addition, we’ve made a small improvement to save space, so now when you magnetize a munzee, the magnet button will disappear until the magnet expires. That way there is more room to display the bouncer information!

The Magnet Burnout was created to encourage players to keep moving and not just magnetize the same munzee over and over again. There will be a timer on the burned out munzee to show how long you have to wait until it can be magnetized again!

Are you ready to have some fun with this awesome new game addition? Don’t forget to pick up the awesome new Treehouse munzee when it releases! For now watch the map and see if one gets deployed somewhere near you! You can also stock up on some Magnets and catch those bouncers!

Munzee on!

*Please note that when Treehouses go on sale to the public players will be limited to one purchase every 14 days.

Rob celebrates the Treehouse Munzee launch from the Mall of America in Minnesota, where he is attending player events.

MH-Qlue Makes for a Real Whodunnit!

Breaking news, Munzers! The CzeeO has been attacked and kidnapped at MHQ, and now you have to find out whodunnit before it’s too late! A total of 1,949 MH-Qlue specials will hit the map from October 22 at 00:01 MHQ time through November 6 at 23:59 MHQ time for over two weeks of mystery and fun!

The MH-Qlue specials will feature 1 physical type and 3 virtual scatter types. The virtuals will NOT be blastable, so you’re going to have to get out there to earn them! Ready to hear the details of this multi-layered game within a game? Detectives, let’s dive right in!

MH-Qlue Special

There will be one MH-Qlue bouncing type that bounces to Greenies, Mystery Munzees, and physical Elemental Mystery Munzees every 6 hours or when captured. They WILL be attracted to Munzee Magnets (also available in 5 packs) on Greenies. When capped, the MH-Qlue special will scatter 3 virtual card icons nearby.

Points:

  • Capture: 70 points
  • Cap On: 70 points

The MH-Qlue physical bouncer will bounce to the following:

  • Greenies
  • Mystery Munzees
  • Fire Mystery Munzees
  • Water Mystery Munzees
  • Ice Mystery Munzees
  • Earth Mystery Munzees

Virtual Card Scatters

After an MH-Qlue Special is capped, one of each card type will be deployed as a virtual scatter within 700 feet. These will be visible to everyone for 1 hour or until it is captured. All virtual scatters will be worth 49 Capture points each. The cards will appear on the map as follows:

When the player caps a card, they will randomly earn one of four icons, similar to the Magic 8 Ball specials. Each card type will have four different possibilities. While you might have guessed that it was Rob with the Ban Hammer at MHQ, the actual Suspect Cards will feature the following 4 persons of interest:

Suspect Cards

    • University Professor Corn
    • Mister Zee
    • Mademoiselle Eventa
    • General Green E.

However, the Ban Hammer is one of the weapon options at hand. The 4 Weapons Cards will appear as follows:

Weapon Cards

  • Ban Hammer
  • External Battery
  • Unicorn Horn
  • Globe

Lastly, are you ready to determine the scene of the crime? The 4 Crime Scene Cards will appear as follows:

Crime Scene Cards

    • The Production Room
    • The Videocast Studio
    • The Munzee Museum
    • The CzeeO’s Office

As you earn different pairings you’ll have different scenarios as to what happened to the CzeeO. Was he attacked in the Munzee Museum, with the Unicorn Horn, by Mademoiselle Eventa? Perhaps it was Uni Professor Corn, with the External Battery, in The Videocast Studio? We’ll reveal the true series of events once the specials have left the map, but in the meantime capture as many clues as you can!

Badges

What’s a game of amateur detective without a badge? Fortunately we have more than one badge in store for this whodunnit special! There are 3 badges you can earn for MH-Qlue captures, though we’re only going to reveal the first in the series. It will appear as follows:

MH-Qlue: Board To Death- Capture one MH-Qlue Special

To discover the rest of the badges, you’ll just have to put your detective skills to the test! What do you think— can you help us find out what happened to the CzeeO?!

Munzee on!
