10th Birthday Mailbox Tiers 2 & 3 Day 14: Seek Out the Golden Unicorn Sprinkles!

Tiers 2 & 3 10th Birthday Mailbox members have their own exclusive hunt! Much like the earlier Golden Pegasus Hunt, upon capturing your 10th Birthday Mailbox, an assortment of Cupcake Sprinkles will scatter nearby! To reiterate, the mailbox must be capped on July 14th 00:01-23:59 MHQ time to deploy the Cupcake Sprinkles. They’ll stay on the map for 36 hours after scattering, so that should give you ample time to collect them all! The capture radius is 500 feet for these, and you’ll be able to use Rover Treats to capture them as well!

A total of 10 Cupcake Sprinkles specials will be unleashed! These will only be visible to the 10th Birthday Mailbox owner and will scatter like Feathers. This means there are no CapOn points but they are worth 100 points for capture!

Though there will only be one icon shown on the map, there is guaranteed to be 1 special Golden Unicorn Sprinkles with a different icon that will not be visible until captured, similar to how the Greeting Cards work. The Golden Unicorn Sprinkles are worth 250 points for capture.

To access these specials, please turn on your “All Expiring Specials” and “All Limited Edition Specials” filters.

Badge

There will be 1 badge for finding the Golden Unicorn Sprinkles. Since there’s only the 1 badge in this line, we want to keep it a secret for now. Hopefully it shouldn’t be too tough for you to get!

You’re in for a Reel Treat with these Go Fishing specials!

Have you ever gone fishing? Whether you’re a practiced hand or have never touched a fishing pole, our new Go Fishing specials will make it easy to cast a line! Starting at 12:00 MHQ on July 9th, Go Fishing specials will bounce around the map until 23:59 MHQ on August 8th.

Go Fishing Specials

These classic tools will be released in waves, but will end at a total of 700 Freshwater Fishing Poles and 700 Saltwater Fishing Poles. They will bounce around on the map every 4 hours or when captured. You can find fishing poles at the following munzees near you:

Freshwater Fishing Poles will be attracted to Physical Magnets, while Saltwater Fishing Poles will be attracted to Virtual Magnets. To access these specials, please turn on your “All Expiring Specials” and “All Limited Edition Specials” filters.

When you capture a Freshwater Fishing Pole, up to three Red Fishing Bobber Munzees will scatter nearby, like Feathers. Similarly, when you capture a Saltwater Fishing Pole, up to three Green Fishing Bobber Munzees will scatter nearby. These munzees will stay on the map for 4 hours or when captured, but the amount of points you’ll get depends on what you catch!

When you capture a Bobber Munzee, your catch will be revealed, similar to the 1st/2nd/3rd Place Results of the #WorldBicycleDay specials. At launch you can expect to see the Smelt and Rainbow Trout from Red Fishing Bobbers, and the King Mackerel and Bonefish from the Green Fishing Bobbers. More types of fish will appear as the month goes on, so make sure to keep an eye out! And don’t forget — fish aren’t the only things that can be found in the water!

Badges

There will be five badges to earn for these specials. Three are based on the total number of Go Fishing specials you capture, but just how many captures it takes to earn all 3 badges will be kept a secret! The remaining two badges are based on capturing each of the different Fish Munzees as they appear in the wild. You can see the first badge below:

Tier 3 10th Birthday Mailbox members have their own exclusive hunt! Much like the VCCC’s Chocolate Covered Cherry Challenge, upon capturing your 10th Birthday Mailbox, a boxful of Chocolate Pegasi will scatter nearby! To reiterate, the mailbox must be capped on July 7th 00:01-23:59 MHQ time to deploy the Chocolate Pegasi. They’ll stay on the map for 36 hours after scattering, so that should give you ample time to collect them all! The capture radius is 500 feet for these!

A total of 10 Chocolate Pegasus specials will be unleashed! These will only be visible to the 10th Birthday Mailbox owner and will scatter like Feathers. This means there are no CapOn points but they are worth 100 points for capture!

Universals are Back for our 10th Birthday!

When we were teasing the release of the 10th Birthday Mailbox, we asked what birthday-related things you were hoping to see. Some of you mentioned Universals, and we were happy to know that you were interested in them making a comeback as well, since one was already in the works! Get your all new 10th Birthday Universal HERE!

Similar to our thoughts with the Bash from the Past Universal, if you’ll be attending a 10th Birthday Event but don’t feel safe touching and scanning others’ Personal Tags, ask other attendees to share their Universal code (if they have one) online so you can scan it from your home. Of course, the same goes if you are not attending any events but want to join in on the fun virtually — play your way!

Universally United

Featuring some of the golden trophy designs used in the app during the past 10 years, it has the best of both Social and Personal Munzee functionality as other players can capture it from anywhere in the world AND activity on it will earn you points. However, as this makes it incredibly valuable, we are limiting it to 1 per player. You can find this limited edition Universal HERE!

This 10th Birthday Universal is a limited release item only available through August 2 at 10:00 MHQ.

A Universal has the same point structure as a regular Personal:

  • Capture: mystery random points 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45
  • CapOn: sum of 50 between player capture and residual
    • Example: player capture = 30, owner residual = 20. Total = 50
  • Deploy: 100 points (only deploy it once with no proximity or expiration!)
  • **Boosters will have no effect on Universal points.

You can find your Universal in the My Social Munzees section of the app, or the corresponding page on the website.

Unlike the Bash from the Past Universals, these 10th Birthday Universals will be auto-deployed upon purchase!

July 2021 Clan Wars Requirements

It’s almost July! This July is special for a couple of reasons. First, it’s our 10th birthday! Second, this is clan battle #100! Two major milestones in one month. “X” represents 10 in Roman numerals, so Level X is back for July with great rewards for those clans who battle to make it. We will share the requirements so Level X isn’t the mystery it has been in the past. 🙂

You’ll find all the latest details to our clan requirements and rewards in the clan section of our app. There have been a few issues with activity not counting for some players in the opening minutes of the clan war. Please be sure to give our servers a bit of time to switch from Clan Wars OFF to Clan Wars ON. 🙂 This will ease frustration, just 10 or 15 minutes will make all the difference. We’re happy everyone is so anxious to get started on the 3rd of each month!

It is possible that we could update clan requirements prior to July 3 and reserve the right to do so. The final requirements and rewards will always be shown in the app. All of this is up in the air based on how situations continue to change worldwide based on COVID-19.

July ClanPak

Last month, we introduced the ClanPak! While MunzPaks started as a product to aid in Clan Wars, they have transitioned over time. Sometimes you may need a few things to help meet Clan War Requirements, (i.e. magnets, QRowbars, etc.) and reach your goals.

There is a limit of one per player per product/month. You can purchase the July ClanPak HERE! This is NOT a subscription program.

July Badges

Your Clan can earn monthly badges to earn for reaching distinct levels of Clan Wars each month. You won’t be able to earn a badge until the entire clan has reached the specified level. Since there IS Level X this month, there will be a total of 6 badges available in July. The first badge will appear as follows:

Overall Clan Notes:

Please keep in mind Levels 4, 5 and X are considered advanced gameplay and not recommended for brand new players. Be aware when allowing new players to join your clans. QRew/ZeeQRew status will be required for any clans earning levels 4, 5 and X. See qualifications for ZeeQRew here. If you are not a member on July 1st you will not be able to qualify until July 15th. If you lose qualification before the 15th you will not be able to qualify until August 1st.

Bouncer captures include any POB, MOB, or TOB (even the temporary POB)

NEW* Claimed QRates will not carry over from before the clan battle starts. The QRate must be found, opened, and claimed during the month of the current clan battle.

*All shards may be redeemed at https://www.munzee.com/redeem
Total points include Cap, Deploy, and CapOn of all types.
Destination points include ALL types of destinations, including Treehouse and Skyland
Social and Personal will not count for Deploy requirements.
Social and Universal will not count for total Capture requirements.
Personal and Universal will not count for Physical points of any sort.

June Garden Gnome Reminder + July Preview!

As the month comes to a close, we wanted to make sure you were heading into July with your desired Garden Gnomes! The skin for completing your June capture streak (and the corresponding badge) will be awarded in early July, but we couldn’t wait to share what’s in store!

June Garden Gnome Reminders

If you haven’t picked up a Garden Gnome yet, they are available in the Freeze Tag Store for $7.

Each month, the price of a Garden Gnome will decrease by $1. However, players can only purchase 1 Garden Gnome every 28 days.

If you’re planning to complete the capture streaks for each month (and made the initial purchase in January) you’ll have 12 different skins to choose from! So be sure to purchase one each month so you can have a complete bench of these athletic Garden Gnomes!

July Garden Gnome Details

What Gnome Skin can you look forward to receiving in July? The out-of-the-park Baseball Garden Gnome! Like the other gnomes, the Baseball Garden Gnome is a temporary POB that will remain on the map until 23:59 MHQ on December 31.

As stated earlier, to earn this skin, you’ll need to have completed this month’s (June’s) capture streak. Once the skin is awarded in July, you can change the skin on the gnome to this one at any point — refer to our original blog post for the instructions!

Points

  • Capture: 250
  • CapOn: 300

You can find these home run hitters sprinting to the following landing pads every 6 hours or when captured:

Additionally, the Baseball Garden Gnome will scatter up to 3 NEW Gnome Catcher’s Caps nearby when it is captured!

Like the other Gnome Hats, the Gnome Catcher’s Cap will be visible to any player and will be deployed on the Gnome owner’s account. This means that unlike Feathers/Boulders, there are CapOn points for the owner! They expire after 120 minutes and have a capture radius of 300 feet. These hat scatters will NOT count for deploy streaks, ZeeOps, or clan activity since they are passive deploys.

The rewards for Gnome Hats are as follows:

  • Capture: 50 points
  • CapOn: 50 points

The Baseball Garden Gnome will be available for multi-capture. That means players can capture Baseball Garden Gnomes on their own munzees, any previously captured munzees, and more than once if the same Baseball Garden Gnome visits you. Baseball Garden Gnomes are non-blastable. They will be attracted to both Physical Magnets and Virtual Magnets. You can access Baseball Garden Gnomes by turning on your “All Limited Edition Specials” and “All Expiring Specials” filters.

Badges

As a reminder, Garden Gnomes have 4 associated badge lines:

  • Unique type deploy badges — you’ll need to earn each month’s skin by keeping your streak up!
  • Overall deploy badges — the more gnomes you deploy, the merrier!
  • Unique type capture badges — capture at least 1 of each skinned gnome!
  • Overall capture badges — capture as many gnomes as you can find!

While we revealed images for the first of each badge line in the original post, we are happy to show you the “Unique type deploy” and “Unique type capture” badges associated with the Baseball Garden Gnome:

A Mailbox Full of Goodies for our 10th Birthday!

Many of you have enjoyed our past mailboxes as they bring a fun surprise to look forward to each day. With our 10th Birthday coming up, we knew we had to plan a special mailbox for the month! If you were a fan of our Holiday Card Collectors Club or the Valentine Card Collectors Club, here’s another club you’re sure to love! We are excited to introduce the 10th Birthday Mailbox, which you’re able to purchase starting NOW in the Freeze Tag Online Store!

Expect a surprise inside every day in the month of July! Since this period is the same length as the Holiday Mailbox’s, the price for the upper two tiers will be the same, as you’ll see below! Like the HCCC, Club members will receive virtual items only.

Mail Call!

You’ll need a 10th Birthday Mailbox Munzee to receive your 10th Birthday goodies!

When you deploy this new game piece nearby it will only be visible to AND cappable by you. IT MUST BE DEPLOYED IN APP! To ensure that you are able to capture this new game piece each day, you’ll also be able to update its location if you’ll be traveling at any point during the mailbox period. You can only move the mailbox in app and do NOT need to undeploy first. We really don’t want you to miss out! It is very important you capture it each day in July.

The 10th Birthday Mailbox is worth 100 deploy points! When it comes to captures, you’ll receive 10 points before July; during the mailbox period the points will vary. The mailbox can be captured up to 1000 feet away and is found under the Virtuals filter but ONLY visible to the OWNER. It will be archived after July 31st.

How the 10th Birthday Mailbox Works

Starting July 1st at 00:01 MHQ, each day you cap your 10th Birthday Mailbox you will be awarded a different 10th Birthday-themed Greeting Card capture, similar to the HCCC. Please note that you’ll only be able to earn that specific card on that day, so you really don’t want to miss a day. Once you cap that card you’ll earn points, and depending on which tier of Club Membership you purchase you may also get some extra prizes!

There are 3 tiers of Club Membership you can purchase HERE. As stated above, since the time period for this mailbox is the same as the HCCC (though this one allows for nearly a week of extra caps before the actual mailbox period starts), the pricing is similar. You are only able to purchase ONE tier per player account.

  • Tier 1 “Capper” is available for $10 and includes the NEW 10th Birthday Mailbox, which will deliver 31 Greeting Card munzees for you to capture.
  • Tier 2 “Giver” is available for $15 and includes everything in Tier 1 PLUS a matching 10th Birthday Card each day for you to deploy, maybe near a friend? That’s 31 new cards to deploy on top of the 31 you can cap! You’ll also get some special bonuses scattered throughout the mailbox period, which could be double points days, exclusive specials or scatters to cap, credits or undeployed munzees, etc.
  • Tier 3 “Collector” is available for $25 and includes everything in Tier 2 PLUS all bonuses we have planned (some that Tier 2 will not have access to), AND a special Award Show Garden Gnome Skin worth double capture and capon points during the month of July! The bonus rewards will be well worth joining this tier over the previous two. You can find out more about Award Show Garden Gnome below!

Once you’ve decided on a Tier, you can purchase it in the FT Store! Please make absolutely sure you’re satisfied with the Tier you select before purchasing, as we may not be able to change it. You may only join one tier. You will still be able to purchase these Club Memberships into July, but you won’t be able to earn rewards from the days that have passed. We suggest purchasing your Club Membership as soon as possible to start learning the mysteries of the mailbox and prepare for July fun!

Like the other Garden Gnomes, the Award Show Garden Gnome is a temporary POB that will remain on the map until 23:59 MHQ on December 31. It will bounce to both physical and virtual munzees, specifically: Greenies, Premium Munzees, all Virtual Colors, Entertainment Places, Drink Depot Places, Treehouses, and Skylands every 6 hours or when capped.

If you haven’t picked up a Garden Gnome yet, they are currently available in the Freeze Tag Store for $7, and will be $6 in July. The mailbox must be capped on July 1st 00:01-23:59 MHQ time to add the Award Show Garden Gnome skin to your account. Once the skin is added to your account, you can change the skin on the gnome to this one at any point — refer to our original blog post for the instructions!

Points

  • Capture: 500 during the month of July, 250 during the remainder of the year
  • CapOn: 600 during the month of July, 300 during the remainder of the year

When the Award Show Garden Gnome is captured, up to 3 NEW 10th Munzee Birthday Hat munzees will be scattered nearby!

Like the other Gnome Hats, the 10th Munzee Birthday Hat will be visible to any player, and will be deployed on the Gnome owner’s account. This means that unlike Feathers, there are CapOn points for the owner! These hat scatters will NOT count for deploy streaks, ZeeOps, or clan activity since they are passive deploys.

The rewards for 10th Munzee Birthday Hat are as follows:

  • Capture: 100 during the month of July, 50 during the remainder of the year
  • CapOn: 100 during the month of July, 50 during the remainder of the year

The Award Show Garden Gnome will be available for multi-capture. That means players can capture an Award Show Garden Gnome on their own munzees, any previously captured munzees, and more than once if the same Award Show Garden Gnome visits you. However, Award Show Garden Gnomes are non-blastable. They will be attracted to Munzee Magnets and Virtual Munzee Magnets. You can access Award Show Garden Gnomes by turning on your “All Limited Edition Specials” and “All Expiring Specials” filters.

Badges

As a reminder, Garden Gnomes have 4 associated badge lines:

  • Unique type deploy badges — you’ll need to earn each month’s skin by keeping your streak up!
  • Overall deploy badges — the more gnomes you deploy, the merrier!
  • Unique type capture badges — capture at least 1 of each skinned gnome!
  • Overall capture badges — capture as many gnomes as you can find!

While we revealed images for the first of each badge line in the original post, we are happy to show you the “Unique type deploy” and “Unique type capture” badges associated with the Award Show Garden Gnome:

On Your Mark, Get Set, GO! #WorldBicycleDay Specials!

UPDATE: as of 6/17/21, another latecomer, Tandem Twins, will be out on the map! It is a virtual special, so it will behave exactly like the Toy Trike and Bicentennial Bicycle. We have also extended the capture badge line so there are now 6 badges to earn!

In addition, Fancy Flat Lou will also scatter the Starting Line, Midway, and Finish Line munzees, which will reveal her own version of the random race result icons. Caps of Fancy Flat Lou will NOT count towards the capture badges described below, but caps of her Starting Line, Midway, and Finish Line munzees WILL. We’ve also extended the badge line so now there are 5 badges to earn!

Tomorrow is World Bicycle Day, which was established by the United Nations General Assembly due to bicycles’ historical significance and their many benefits as a transportation solution: “simple, affordable, reliable, clean and environmentally fit sustainable.” As our Global Events Director, Louise, can attest, the humble bicycle can be the start of something great, and is definitely worthy of being featured in our app! Starting at 12:00 MHQ on June 2nd, World Bicycle Day specials will bounce around the map until 23:59 MHQ on June 30th.

World Bicycle Day Specials

Riders will be racing in waves, but should reach a total of 1,200 — 300 per bike. They will bounce around on the map every 4 hours or when captured. You can find these speed demons at the following landing pads:

Each bike will be worth 150 points for the Capture and 50 points for the CapOn, so you don’t want to miss out! Champion Choppers and Unicorn Unicycles will be attracted to Physical Magnets, while Toy Trikes and Bicentennial Bicycles will be attracted to Virtual Magnets. To access these specials, please turn on your “All Expiring Specials” and “All Limited Edition Specials” filters.

Racers Ready

These bouncers also have a unique twist to them! When you capture a World Bicycle Day special, a Starting Line Munzee will scatter nearby, similar to a Laser Trail. This means only you (the capper) will see the Starting Line Munzee on the map. Once you start the race you’ll need to find the Midway Munzee scattered nearby, followed by the the Finish Line Munzee! If you find you’re just out of range, you’ll be happy to know that you can use Rover Treats to have Rover fetch them for you!

Additionally, when you capture a Finish Line Munzee, you’ll receive the random race result icon as well! They behave the same way as the Jack In Zee Box icons in that only the Finish Line Munzee will be visible on the map, but the result will be revealed once you capture it. Above is an example of the 1st Place Champion Chopper result! You’ll be able to earn 1st through 3rd Place for all bikes, so keeping racing to earn all 12 results!

Badges

There will be six badges to earn for these specials. They are all based on the total number of World Bicycle Day specials AND scatters you capture, but just how many captures it takes to earn all 5 badges will be kept a secret! Watch for a badge reveal post in the following days!

May Garden Gnome Reminder + June Preview!

As the month comes to a close, we wanted to make sure you were heading into June with your desired Garden Gnomes! The skin for completing your May capture streak (and the corresponding badge) will be awarded in early June, but we couldn’t wait to share what’s in store!

May Garden Gnome Reminders

If you haven’t picked up a Garden Gnome yet, they are available in the Freeze Tag Store for $8.

Each month, the price of a Garden Gnome will decrease by $1. However, players can only purchase 1 Garden Gnome every 28 days.

If you’re planning to complete the capture streaks for each month (and made the initial purchase in January) you’ll have 12 different skins to choose from! So be sure to purchase one each month so you can have a complete bench of these athletic Garden Gnomes!

June Garden Gnome Details

What Gnome Skin can you look forward to receiving in June? The totally cool Skateboarding Garden Gnome! Like the other gnomes, the Skateboarding Garden Gnome is a temporary POB that will remain on the map until 23:59 MHQ on December 31.

As stated earlier, to earn this skin, you’ll need to have completed this month’s (May’s) capture streak. Once the skin is awarded in June, you can change the skin on the gnome to this one at any point — refer to our original blog post for the instructions!

Points

  • Capture: 250
  • CapOn: 300

You can find these street surfers rolling to the following landing pads every 6 hours or when captured:

Additionally, the Skateboarding Garden Gnome will scatter up to 3 NEW Gnome Heelflip Hats nearby when it is captured!

Like the other Gnome Hats, the Gnome Heelflip Hat will be visible to any player and will be deployed on the Gnome owner’s account. This means that unlike Feathers/Boulders, there are CapOn points for the owner! They expire after 120 minutes and have a capture radius of 300 feet. These hat scatters will NOT count for deploy streaks, ZeeOps, or clan activity since they are passive deploys.

  • CapOn: 50 points
