Big Map Plans for the InternationElles Munzee!

It’s July, which means it’s time for Louise and the InternationElles to make their pedaled protest to demonstrate the capability of women in cycling! In fact, today marks their very first day of riding! And with Freeze Tag sponsoring these fierce females and Rob joining Louise in France, we thought we’d take you along for the ride!

InternationElles Munzee

As Louise cycles the entire route of the Tour de France with the InternationElles one day before the men, Rob will be driving a support van and deploying in France. Rob and Louise will both be deploying virtuals and physicals throughout the Tour de France route, so we decided to make them special! Introducing the InternationElles Munzee icons!

Similar to the Whomp Canada and Wayward Nation munzees, these unique pins will feature special icons. Any greenie or virtual deployed by the InternationElles Munzee account will become the beautiful icons pictured above!

You can access the InternationElles pins under the Tourism filter. Although the InternationElle Munzees will only be available in France, these special pins will be permanently on the map! Coupe du Munzee Icon Updates!

It’s time for a map change! The Women’s World Cup Semifinals have officially determined which two teams will be battling it out for third place and which teams will have the chance to compete for the championship! We thought it was only fitting to reflect this on the map for our Coupe du Munzee specials, with our next icon change taking place on Friday, July, 5 at 00:01 MHQ time!

The Semifinals saw teams USA and Netherlands advancing to the finals, while England and Sweden will be competing for third place following their losses. However, rather than reduce England and Sweden to one icon per team as we have done with the other eliminated teams, these team icons will remain on the map at 34 icons per team! After all, these teams battled through quite the challenge and deserve recognition! Meanwhile, our top two teams have seen their icons increase from 11 to 30 to 50 to 75. Teams USA and Netherlands will now both have 120 icons per team to celebrate their amazing athletic achievements!

That means the Coupe du Munzee distribution will be as follows:

Your Future is Clear with the Magic 8 Ball Specials!

Do you have a burning question that you’re dying to have answered!? Can’t decide on whether or not to get a haircut or runaway to Tahiti? Well the Magic 8 Ball Munzee specials will be here tomorrow at 00:01 MHQ time to grant your questions a Munzee-fied response (as well as points and badges)! (Note: Freeze Tag is not liable for any real world player decisions made based off Magic 8 Ball Munzee answers ?.)

Our Magic 8 Ball specials will launch at 00:01 MHQ time on July 3, with 888 hitting the map until 23:59 MHQ time on July 31! Though there will only be one icon shown on the map, there are a possibility of 8 different icons revealed after this special is captured. Each icon will correspond with a different saying that will not be visible until captured, similar to how the Gleaming Pouch Creatures work. They will bounce around every 6 hours or when capped.

Dying to know what capture messages could be in store for you? We’ll give you a sneak peak, but you’re going to have to get busy capping to discover the other 7 options:

Where are you from?

I’m from Whittier, CA. Fun fact: Most of my life was spent in the ‘unincorporated’ part of Whittier, meaning I got to answer the “Is that LA or Orange Country?” question with a simple “Yes.”

Tell us about yourself:

Where to begin? I have a gorgeous wife (Kelsey) and beautiful 9 month baby girl (Autumn)! Kelsey and I just celebrated our 5 year anniversary, 3.5 years of which have been spent in Texas! Being a Californian transplant, I feel more Texan every day (but still don’t own a pair of cowboy boots). I prefer iPhone over Android, Pepsi over Coke, and fruity candy over chocolate. I usually try to turn conversations into dad jokes. I was a hands-on learner in college, which explains why I did so well in my ASL classes.

How long have your worked for Munzee?

I have been working for the company for 3.5 years! My official hire-in date is January 4th.

How did you find Munzee?

I found Munzee like many other players: through Geocaching. My good friend, Andrew, took me to my first geocache in early 2015 and I loved it! After a couple of months of Geocaching, I wanted to know if there were other games similar to it, which lead to me finding Munzee in the App Store. I loved the concept of looking for hidden objects and getting rewarded for that effort with experience and badges. The ease of use (scanning with a phone and moving on) was something that I felt lacking from the other game.

What do you enjoy most about Munzee?

At its core, I really enjoy Munzee’s physical game. While my schedule and life don’t allow me to be more involved with that aspect of the game, it’s what snagged my attention in the first place. The fact that Munzee can be a physical and virtual game at the same time is a nice hybrid that many other games try to create with AR, but fail at in the process. Munzee allows its players to choose how they want to play – which helps for those with busy schedules.

What are some of your other hobbies?

My hobbies are best sorted into categories of ‘used to have time for’ and ‘still find time for.’ Having a baby changes a lot.

    • UTHTF: Disc Golfing, Ultimate Frisbee, Soccer, Disneyland, Hiking, Bike Riding, Arts & Crafts, Collecting, and many different video games.
    • SFTF: Rocket League, Graphic Art

Coupe du Munzee Semifinals Update!

Our fourth and final  Coupe du Munzee specials icon adjustment is here! Following the Round of 16 and Quarterfinals game updates, which both saw eliminated teams reduced to 1 icon each, there will be another map change on Tuesday, July 2 at 00:01 MHQ time to mark the Semifinals!

The Women’s World Cup is officially advancing to the Semifinals, which means that 4 more teams have been eliminated. They will join the 16 previously eliminated teams with having only 1 physical icon per team on the map. Meanwhile, the teams still in the game have seen an increase from 11 to 30 to 50 Coupe du Munzee icons per team, and those numbers aren’t slowing down! The 4 advancing teams will see their icons increased to 75 per team!

The 4 remaining Coupe du Munzee teams, reflecting the results of the Women’s World Cup, are as follows:

LegaZeeOps- Operation: Going Green (July 2019)

Agents, ZeeOps HQ’s system has been hacked and all of our files on past missions have been erased! You’ll have to recreate past Operations in what we’re calling LegaZeeOps. It’s up to you to keep the legacy of this organization in tact. The missions for this month are the same that were originally available in July 2017’s Operations.

Due to your hard work in June the contaminated outlier strain of Evolution Munzees has been controlled. Despite investigations into what caused the issue, there have been few leads as to who was behind the leak. ZeeOps Agents must focus on forward though, so prepare for this month’s Operations.  

Since the leaders of the Mean Green Gang have seemingly all been eradicated Director Zee has kicked off a probation program for former MGG members. The program has been named “Going Green.” He has requested that ZeeOps agents worldwide begin rounding up Mean Greenies to present them the opportunity to join forces. The program has been met with some resistance from both ZeeOps agents and former Mean Green Gang operatives though, so be careful.

July 2019 ZeeOps Operations are now live and you can begin planning your Missions to start on the following day. You can plan your Operations at munzee.com/ops/ and purchase more ZeeCred in the Freeze Tag Online Store. Remember that if you hit a snag at any point in your Operation you can use the Mission Mulligan feature to keep going!

Since this month’s requirements are focused on Greenies, you may want to stock up in the Freeze Tag store!

By completing any Operation this month you’ll earn the new “LegaZeeOps- Operation: Going Green” badge.

This month’s Missions are as follows:

Basic Training + – Earn at least 1,000 points.
Defensive Training- Deploy at least 10 munzees.

July 2019 Clan Wars Requirements (Plus Weekend Sale!)

Clan Battle #76 will commence on July 3 at 00:01 MHQ time, with this month’s requirements focused on Places, Weapons, Flats (ALL on map all month), and Gaming types. Speaking of Gaming types, we also have a quick points update for the Rock Paper Scissors Munzee as of the publication of this blog. The RPS Munzee will now be worth the following updated points values:

  • Cap: 25, 35, 45
  • CapOn: Split of 70 with Cap (i.e. Cap = 25, CapOn = 45)
