A Mailbox Full of Goodies for our 10th Birthday!

Many of you have enjoyed our past mailboxes as they bring a fun surprise to look forward to each day. With our 10th Birthday coming up, we knew we had to plan a special mailbox for the month! If you were a fan of our Holiday Card Collectors Club or the Valentine Card Collectors Club, here’s another club you’re sure to love! We are excited to introduce the 10th Birthday Mailbox, which you’re able to purchase starting NOW in the Freeze Tag Online Store!

Expect a surprise inside every day in the month of July! Since this period is the same length as the Holiday Mailbox’s, the price for the upper two tiers will be the same, as you’ll see below! Like the HCCC, Club members will receive virtual items only.

Mail Call!

You’ll need a 10th Birthday Mailbox Munzee to receive your 10th Birthday goodies!

When you deploy this new game piece nearby it will only be visible to AND cappable by you. IT MUST BE DEPLOYED IN APP! To ensure that you are able to capture this new game piece each day, you’ll also be able to update its location if you’ll be traveling at any point during the mailbox period. You can only move the mailbox in app and do NOT need to undeploy first. We really don’t want you to miss out! It is very important you capture it each day in July.

The 10th Birthday Mailbox is worth 100 deploy points! When it comes to captures, you’ll receive 10 points before July; during the mailbox period the points will vary. The mailbox can be captured up to 1000 feet away and is found under the Virtuals filter but ONLY visible to the OWNER. It will be archived after July 31st.

How the 10th Birthday Mailbox Works

Starting July 1st at 00:01 MHQ, each day you cap your 10th Birthday Mailbox you will be awarded a different 10th Birthday-themed Greeting Card capture, similar to the HCCC. Please note that you’ll only be able to earn that specific card on that day, so you really don’t want to miss a day. Once you cap that card you’ll earn points, and depending on which tier of Club Membership you purchase you may also get some extra prizes!

There are 3 tiers of Club Membership you can purchase HERE. As stated above, since the time period for this mailbox is the same as the HCCC (though this one allows for nearly a week of extra caps before the actual mailbox period starts), the pricing is similar. You are only able to purchase ONE tier per player account.

  • Tier 1 “Capper” is available for $10 and includes the NEW 10th Birthday Mailbox, which will deliver 31 Greeting Card munzees for you to capture.
  • Tier 2 “Giver” is available for $15 and includes everything in Tier 1 PLUS a matching 10th Birthday Card each day for you to deploy, maybe near a friend? That’s 31 new cards to deploy on top of the 31 you can cap! You’ll also get some special bonuses scattered throughout the mailbox period, which could be double points days, exclusive specials or scatters to cap, credits or undeployed munzees, etc.
  • Tier 3 “Collector” is available for $25 and includes everything in Tier 2 PLUS all bonuses we have planned (some that Tier 2 will not have access to), AND a special Award Show Garden Gnome Skin worth double capture and capon points during the month of July! The bonus rewards will be well worth joining this tier over the previous two. You can find out more about Award Show Garden Gnome below!

Once you’ve decided on a Tier, you can purchase it in the FT Store! Please make absolutely sure you’re satisfied with the Tier you select before purchasing, as we may not be able to change it. You may only join one tier. You will still be able to purchase these Club Memberships into July, but you won’t be able to earn rewards from the days that have passed. We suggest purchasing your Club Membership as soon as possible to start learning the mysteries of the mailbox and prepare for July fun!

Award Show Garden Gnome Details

Like the other Garden Gnomes, the Award Show Garden Gnome is a temporary POB that will remain on the map until 23:59 MHQ on December 31. It will bounce to both physical and virtual munzees, specifically: Greenies, Premium Munzees, all Virtual Colors, Entertainment Places, Drink Depot Places, Treehouses, and Skylands every 6 hours or when capped.

If you haven’t picked up a Garden Gnome yet, they are currently available in the Freeze Tag Store for $7, and will be $6 in July. The mailbox must be capped on July 1st 00:01-23:59 MHQ time to add the Award Show Garden Gnome skin to your account. Once the skin is added to your account, you can change the skin on the gnome to this one at any point — refer to our original blog post for the instructions!

Points

  • Capture: 500 during the month of July, 250 during the remainder of the year
  • CapOn: 600 during the month of July, 300 during the remainder of the year

When the Award Show Garden Gnome is captured, up to 3 NEW 10th Munzee Birthday Hat munzees will be scattered nearby!

Like the other Gnome Hats, the 10th Munzee Birthday Hat will be visible to any player, and will be deployed on the Gnome owner’s account. This means that unlike Feathers, there are CapOn points for the owner! These hat scatters will NOT count for deploy streaks, ZeeOps, or clan activity since they are passive deploys.

The rewards for 10th Munzee Birthday Hat are as follows:

  • Capture: 100 during the month of July, 50 during the remainder of the year
  • CapOn: 100 during the month of July, 50 during the remainder of the year

The Award Show Garden Gnome will be available for multi-capture. That means players can capture an Award Show Garden Gnome on their own munzees, any previously captured munzees, and more than once if the same Award Show Garden Gnome visits you. However, Award Show Garden Gnomes are non-blastable. They will be attracted to Munzee Magnets and Virtual Munzee Magnets. You can access Award Show Garden Gnomes by turning on your “All Limited Edition Specials” and “All Expiring Specials” filters.

Badges

As a reminder, Garden Gnomes have 4 associated badge lines:

  • Unique type deploy badges — you’ll need to earn each month’s skin by keeping your streak up!
  • Overall deploy badges — the more gnomes you deploy, the merrier!
  • Unique type capture badges — capture at least 1 of each skinned gnome!
  • Overall capture badges — capture as many gnomes as you can find!

While we revealed images for the first of each badge line in the original post, we are happy to show you the “Unique type deploy” and “Unique type capture” badges associated with the Award Show Garden Gnome:

Valentines Card Collectors Club Tiers 2 & 3 Day 10: Mythical Bandaidz

Tiers 2 & 3 Valentines Card Collectors Club members have their own exclusive hunt! Much like the Chocolate Covered Cherry Challenge, upon capturing your Valentines Mailbox, a pack of Mythical Bandaidz will scatter nearby! To reiterate, the mailbox must be capped on February 10th 00:01-23:59 MHQ time to deploy the Mythical Bandaidz. They’ll stay on the map for 36 hours after scattering, so that should give you ample time to collect them all! The capture radius is 500 feet for these!

A total of 14 Mythical Bandaidz specials will be unleashed! These will only be visible to the Valentines Mailbox owner and will scatter like Feathers. This means there are no CapOn points but they are worth 100 points for capture!

Though there will only be one icon shown on the map, there is guaranteed to be 1 special Rainbow Mythical Bandaidz with a different icon that will not be visible until captured, similar to how the Greeting Cards work. The Rainbow Mythical Bandaidz is worth 250 points for capture.

To access these specials, please turn on your “All Expiring Specials” and “All Limited Edition Specials” filters.

Badge

There will be 1 badge for finding the Rainbow Mythical Bandaidz. Since there’s only the 1 badge in this line, we want to keep it a secret for now. Hopefully it shouldn’t be too tough for you to get!

Much like the HCCC’s Christmas Pickle Hunt, upon capturing your Valentines Mailbox, a boxful of Assorted Chocolates will scatter nearby! To reiterate, the mailbox must be capped on February 4th 00:01-23:59 MHQ time to deploy the Assorted Chocolates. They’ll stay on the map for 36 hours after scattering, so that should give you ample time to collect them all! The capture radius is 500 feet for these!

A total of 14 Assorted Chocolate specials will be unleashed! These will only be visible to the Valentines Mailbox owner and will scatter like Feathers. This means there are no CapOn points but they are worth 100 points for capture!

Though there will only be one icon shown on the map, there is guaranteed to be 1 special Chocolate Covered Cherry with a different icon that will not be visible until captured, similar to how the Greeting Cards work. The Chocolate Covered Cherry is worth 250 points for capture.

Ask Aphrodite Listeners, Here’s What We Were Hinting At!

Whether you have a special someone in your life or not, the month of February is the perfect time to share the love with friends, family, and yourself! If you were a fan of our Holiday Card Collectors Club or missed out on it, here’s your chance at a similar experience! We are excited to introduce the Valentines Card Collectors Club (VCCC), which you’re able to purchase starting NOW in the Freeze Tag Online Store!

Expect a surprise inside every day leading up to (and including) Valentine’s Day! Since this period is about half of the Holiday Mailbox‘s, the price will be slightly lower, as you’ll see below! Like the HCCC, Club members will receive virtual items only.

You’ll need a Valentines Mailbox Munzee to receive your VCCC goodies!

When you deploy this new game piece nearby it will only be visible to AND cappable by you. That’s 14 new cards to deploy on top of the 14 you can cap! You’ll also get some special bonuses scattered throughout the mailbox period, which could be double points days, exclusive specials or scatters to cap, credits or undeployed munzees, etc.
  • Tier 3 “Collector” is available for $15 and includes everything in Tier 2 PLUS all bonuses we have planned (some that Tier 2 will not have access to), AND a special Special Delivery Cupid temporary POB deployed from your account on February 1st! Special Delivery Cupid Details

As previously stated, the Special Delivery Cupid is a temporary POB. It will deploy on your account when you capture your Valentines Mailbox on February 1. The mailbox must be capped on February 1st 00:01-23:59 MHQ time to deploy Cupid. It will bounce to both physical and virtual munzees, specifically: Greenies, Fire Mysteries, Seasonals, Reseller Unique Munzees, all Virtual Colors, Air Mysteries, Post Office Places, Treehouses, and Skylands every 5 hours or when capped. It will stay on the map until 23:59 MHQ on February 28, when it will be automatically archived on your account.

Points

  • Deploy: 750
  • Capture: 300
  • CapOn: 150

Similar to the Modern Myths, when the Special Delivery Cupid is captured 1 NEW Heart Arrow munzee will be scattered nearby!

The Heart Arrow will only be visible to the player who capped the Special Delivery Cupid, and will be deployed on the Special Delivery Cupid owner’s account. This means that unlike Feathers, there are CapOn points for the owner! This Heart Arrow will NOT count for Deploy streaks, so be warned.

The rewards for Heart Arrows are as follows:

  • Capture: 50-150 points and a small chance to earn some Zeds
  • CapOn: 75-175 points

Like the Cyborg Santa, the Special Delivery Cupid will be available for multi-capture. That means players can capture a Special Delivery Cupid on their own munzees, any previously captured munzees, and more than once if the same Special Delivery Cupid visits you. However, Special Delivery Cupids are non-blastable. They will be attracted to Munzee Magnets and Virtual Munzee Magnets. You can access Special Delivery Cupid by turning on your “All Limited Edition Specials” and “All Expiring Specials” filters.

Holiday Card Collectors Club Dodgy Jumper Photo Contest Gallery

Yesterday was the last day for our Dodgy Jumper Photo Contest, so we’ve gathered up some of the entries for you to enjoy in the gallery below! We received over 150 250 photos which is way more than the usual amount, so to keep this blog post a reasonable length, we’ve just chosen a few of our favorites. Please don’t worry if you don’t see your photo here — as long as you’ve uploaded a photo to your Holiday Mailbox within the period of 00:01 MHQ on December 16 to 23:59 MHQ on December 20, you will receive the badge when it is awarded in early January.

Holiday Card Collectors Club Tier 3 Day 31: Fireworks Show

Tier 3 Holiday Card Collectors Club members have one last surprise! Much like the Snowball Gathering and Christmas Pickle Hunt, upon capturing your Holiday Mailbox, a shower of Fireworks will scatter nearby! To reiterate, the mailbox must be capped on December 31st 00:01-23:59 MHQ time to deploy the Fireworks. They’ll stay on the map for 6 hours after scattering, so try to cap them all within that timeframe!

A total of 20 Fireworks specials will be unleashed! These will only be visible to the Holiday Mailbox owner and will scatter like Feathers. This means there are no CapOn points but they are worth 50 points for capture!

The icon for these specials is the same as the Fireworks Card that Tier 2 and 3 HCCC Members will receive to deploy. To access these specials, please turn on your “Greeting Cards” filter.

Badge

There will be 1 badge for capturing Fireworks. Since there’s only the 1 badge in this line, we want to keep it a secret for now. Hopefully it shouldn’t be too tough for you to get!

The final Christmas Combat character has been unlocked! We bet you’re curious to find out all his features and functions, so without further ado…

Fr057y Details

Fr057y is a temporary POB available from our Official Resellers for $5 through the end of the year. It will stay on the map until winter is over as determined by the Pennyslvania soothsayer on Feb 2. If the groundhog sees his shadow Fr057y will remain for 6 more weeks, if no shadow Fr057y will melt (archive) in 6 days.

Each player may purchase 1 Fr057y per player account, per reseller if you choose to support them all. Here is a direct link to the product from each reseller.

Points

  • Deploy: 300
  • Capture: 200
  • CapOn: 100

You can find these rolling ruffians bouncing to the following landing pads every 5 hours or when captured:

Similar to the Cyborg Santa, when Fr057y is captured 1-3 NEW Snowball munzees will be scattered nearby!

These are the same Snowballs featured in Day 5 of the HCCC! This means that capping them will contribute progress towards the corresponding badge line. Please note that there will be NO Rainbow Snow Cone. The Snowballs will only be visible to the player who capped Fr057y.

The rewards for Snowballs are as follows:

  • Capture: 100 points and 10 seconds of Frozen status, like when capping the Ice Mystery’s Frozen Greenie scatter

Like the other Christmas Combat bouncers, Fr057y will be available for multi-capture. That means players can capture a Fr057y on their own munzees, any previously captured munzees, and more than once if the same Fr057y visits you. However, Fr057y is non-blastable. They will be attracted to Munzee Magnets and Virtual Munzee Magnets. You can access Fr057y by turning on your “All Limited Edition Specials” and “All Expiring Specials” filters.

It’s Official — The Machines are Taking Over with this NEW MOB!

Perhaps our need for our own Christmas Combatant has infected the app — as of 12:00 MHQ today, a new temporary Bouncer has materialized without any work on our part, and is rendering players helpless with its freezing capabilities!

KrampBot Details

KrampBot is officially a tPOB, but solely owned by KrampBot himself and should be temporary (we hope!). No players are able to purchase/own/deploy a KrampBot. Based on its current growth pattern we project that 333 KrampBots will be bouncing around on the map that MUST be captured!

Like the Spyderbot, it will stay on the map until it has been captured 5 times, when it will be archived. After the fifth capture a KrampBot will be “krushed” which results in more points for the capper. KrampBot will bounce to certain virtual munzees (listed below) for the first 4 captures, but after being capped 4 times it will land on a physical munzee where it can now be krushed. If you’ve ever deployed a Butterfly or Frog Evolution munzee, these will behave similarly with a few exceptions.

Points

  • Capture: 350
  • CapOn: 75
  • Krush (5th Cap): 425

You can find these prickly predators bouncing to the following landing pads every 4 hours or when captured:

Similar to the Cyborg Santa, when the KrampBot is captured 1 NEW Putrid Present will be scattered nearby!

The Putrid Present will only be visible to the player who capped the KrampBot.

The “rewards” for Putrid Presents are as follows:

  • Capture: 150 points and 30 seconds of Frozen status, like when capping the Ice Mystery’s Frozen Greenie scatter. These will not add to the frozen badge line.

Like the Cyborg Santa, the KrampBot will be available for multi-capture. That means players can capture a KrampBot on their own munzees, any previously captured munzees, and more than once if the same KrampBot visits you. However, KrampBots are non-blastable. They will be attracted to Munzee Magnets and Virtual Munzee Magnets. You can access KrampBot by turning on your “All Limited Edition Specials” and “All Expiring Specials” filters.

Badges

There will be 1 badge for capturing the KrampBot. Since there’s only the 1 badge in this line, we want to keep it a secret for now. Hopefully it shouldn’t be too tough for you to get!

There is also a line of Christmas Combat Capture badges that you can earn for KrampBot, ReinDroid, RUD01PH, 31F, GingerMech Man, Cyborg Santa, Cybersaurus Rex, and any other future Christmas Combat captures! As a refresher, the first in this line will appear as follows:

Holiday Card Collectors Club ALL Tiers Day 16: Dodgy Jumper Photo Contest

If you’re a long-time Munzee player, you may have been wondering — where’s the Dodgy Jumper contest? Don’t worry, we haven’t forgotten this time-honored tradition! While in past years (2019, 2018, 2017, etc.) we made this a contest for event attendees, we know this year has made it tougher for most players to host and attend. So this year we’re streamlining the entry process: simply add a photo of yourself in a Dodgy Jumper to your Holiday Mailbox within the time period of 00:01 MHQ on December 16 to 23:59 MHQ on December 20.

As long as you follow the rules and put forth some effort, you’ll be awarded the Dodgy Jumpers badge. This year we’ve taken a punny approach to the badge design, as you can see below:

We’ll share some of our favorite player outfits to the official Munzee social media pages as we discover them, but the badge will not be awarded until some time after the 20th. Then we’ll add all of the winners to a gallery here on the Munzee Blog to announce when the badge has been awarded!
