MunzPaks are back!

Howdy!

We’ve been working on updates to our MunzPak subscription services, and we’re happy to announce that MunzPaks are once again available RIGHT NOW! We’ve made a couple of changes that we think you will enjoy:

  • There are now 3 MunzPaks to choose from: Physical MunzPak, Hybrid MunzPak, and Virtual MunzPak.
  • MunzPak subscriptions are now handled through the Freeze Tag Online Store.
  • The Physical MunzPak is re-launching with a new line of munzees!

New MunzPaks

Along with the Physical and Virtual MunzPaks that you know and love, we’re introducing a new Hybrid MunzPak that combines the best of the physical and virtual Munzee gameplay. The Physical and Virtual MunzPaks will retain their subscription prices of $15 and $25, respectively. The new Hybrid MunzPak will include physical and virtual game items and credits for $20.01. You can find all three new MunzPaks in the Freeze Tag Online Store here. When you are viewing the MunzPaks, you have the option of subscribing or making a one time purchase for a fee.

If you subscribe to any (or all) of the MunzPaks, you will be provided a link to an account dashboard where you can manage your subscriptions, see your delivery schedule, view and edit your billing information, and see your purchase history.

You will be billed monthly on your delivery date with one small change. Now, virtual and credit items will be applied to your account immediately after purchase instead of at midnight MHQ time the following day.

One time purchases of MunzPaks will result in being charged the minimum values of each MunzPak:

  • Physical MunzPak: $25
  • Hybrid MunzPak: $30
  • Virtual MunzPak: $40

We hope you enjoy the new changes to MunzPak! Without further ado, we’re happy to introduce the new Chinese Zodiac Munzee series!

The Chinese Zodiacs will work similarly to the Western Zodiacs in that they will be worth double points when capped and deployed during specific times. Instead of being worth double points during certain days/months, they will be worth double points during their corresponding days (00:01-23:59 MHQ time).

  • Dog: Friday
  • Pig: Tuesday
  • Rat: Thursday
  • Ox: Saturday
  • Tiger: Saturday
  • Rabit: Friday
  • Dragon: Tuesday
  • Snake: Friday
  • Horse: Wednesday

We are beginning with the Dog Zodiac Munzee and will release a new Chinese Zodiac every month through the Physical MunzPak subscription. Each Chinese Zodiac Munzee is worth 20 points for Deploy, Capture, and CapOn. Those numbers double to 40 points during each Zodiacs’ specific day.

Updated Recycle Badges!

Just in time for this month’s Clan Wars, we’re excited to announce new badges for Capturing Recycle Munzees!

This is an extension of the current Recycle line, which includes badges for capturing 1, 50, and 100 Recycle Icons. We are adding badges for capturing 500, 1,000, 2,500, and 5,000 Recycle Icons, which will be available starting at 00:01 MHQ time on April 3rd.

These badges ARE retroactive, but will be hidden until you earn them.

As a quick reminder, Recycle Icons appear on certain munzees that haven’t been capped in 365 days. This is a “one and done” special icon. Once the icon is capped, the Munzee returns to its normal icon. In other words this is a race for you to be first in your area to get to the icon. You CAN capture this icon on munzees that you have capped before. You CANNOT capture this icon on your own munzees. The affected munzees are:

  • Greenies
  • All Physical Jewels
  • All Physical Clan Weapons
  • Physical Mysteries
  • Premium Munzees

Recycle Icons will be on the map from 00:01 MHQ Time on Tuesday, April 3rd through 23:59 MHQ time on Monday, April 30th.

ZeeOps: April 2018 Missions

Agents, with the battle between The First Clan and The Rising Sons looming, it seems everyone is choosing allegiances. Although ZeeOps HQ is firmly a neutral party, it’s important we keep track of other possible factions. Look into the Authorized Reseller group known as R.U.M. for any possible collusion.

We have received intel that R.U.M. is kickstarting a bidding war between The First Clan and The Rising Sons. Despite their claims to stay neutral, this powerhouse of Authorized Resellers can tip the scales of war! It’s up to you to take control of the situation by capturing different RUMs (Reseller Unique Munzees) throughout the month.

April 2018 ZeeOps Operations are now live and you can begin planning your Missions to start on the following day. You can plan your Operations at munzee.com/ops/ and purchase more ZeeCred in the Freeze Tag Online Store. Remember that if you hit a snag at any point in your Operation you can use the new Mission Mulligan feature to keep going!

Since this month is focused on Resellers be sure to pop over to one of their stores to stock up on RUMs and everything else you could need. You can find the list of Authorized Resellers HERE.

By completing any Operation this month you’ll earn the “Operation: Overboard” badge.

This month’s Missions are as follows:

LEVEL 1:

Basic Training + – Earn at least 1,000 points.
Defensive Training– Deploy at least 10 munzees.
Offensive Training– Capture at least 25 munzees.
Rule Of RUM I– Capture at least 5 RUMs of any type.
Rule Of RUM II- Deploy at least 2 RUMs of any type.

LEVEL 2:

Group Training + – Earn at least 1,000 cap-on points.
Virtual Surreality– Capture at least 100 virtual munzees of any type.
Sea Seekers– Capture at least 10 RUMs of any type.
At The Helm – Deploy at least 5 RUMs of any type.
Double Crossed!– Capture at least 5 and deploy at least 1 RUMs of any type.

LEVEL 3:

Advanced Training– Earn at least 10,000 points.
Always Aware– Deploy at least 50 physical munzees of any type.
RUM Repeaters– Capture at least 1 RUM from 5 different Resellers.
Deep Zee Divers– Deploy at least 10 RUMs of any type.
Green In The Face– Capture at least 20 and deploy at least 10 Greenies.

LEVEL 4: 

Expert Training– Earn at least 50,000 points.
“Z” Marks The Spot– Capture at least 15 RUMs of any type
Triple Crossed!– Deploy at least 10 and capture at least 5 RUMs of any type.
Yo Ho, Yo Ho! – Capture at least 50 Greenies.
A Pirate’s Life For Zee– Capture at least 250 physical munzees of any type

Completing Operations will give you some hard earned rewards as well.

More MunzPak Changes

At the end of February, we announced that we would be making some changes to the Physical MunzPak. We haven’t forgotten about the Physical MunzPak even though we’ve had to entirely skip the month of March. However, the physical MunzPak WILL return in April. We are also making some changes to the Virtual MunzPak.

While we can’t go into all of the details quite yet, there are some things you need to know:

  • All current Virtual MunzPak subscriptions will end at 23:59:59 MHQ Time on March 31st.
  • Both MunzPaks will be available again early next week.
  • All the changes will be worth the wait (in our humble opinion)

We also have another surprise or two that we will announce early next week, so keep an eye on the blog!

Player of the Week: Claudia Patterson (geomsp)

As Munzee has grown over the years, the game has evolved in so many more ways than any of the co-founders could have imagined. We’ve certainly had our fair share of growing pains, but in its essence Munzee has tried to stick to its core goal of getting people out into the world. No one knows this better than those players who have been with us since the beginning. This week’s Player of the Week is Claudia Patterson (geomsp).

Who are you?
Claudia Patterson, aka geomsp.

Where in the world do you live?
Largo, Florida

How long have you played Munzee?
I downloaded the app on May 24, 2012 and over the next couple years dabbled in the game. I became obsessed in 2014!

How did you find Munzee?
I saw a tree hanger hanging from a tree, and as they say, the rest is history.

What do you most enjoy about Munzee?
I LOVE the people! I have met so many terrific new friends through this game. Most everyone is super friendly. I love heading out in the morning and discovering where I end up at the end of the day. I especially love that you can play the game your way. While we were younger, we enjoyed the physical munzees, but now it seems the majority of the captures are virtuals. It still takes us to some wonderful new places. Events are a plus!! So much fun!

What is on your wish list?
I would love to be in the top 100 players! I have been as close as 111, but I can’t seem to break into this elusive group.

Tell us about yourself!
My husband (geopepi) and I live in Largo, FL, and we munzee together. I took early retirement in 2008 so I would have time to munzee.

Any last words?
Keep up the good work! I love the new munzees that are introduced. Keep them coming! A special thanks to whoever nominated me. What an honor.

Go To Battle With The Ogre AlternaMyth!

Leprechauns may be better known for their greenie-ness in March, but this month we’re excited to introduce you all to a not-so-jolly green giant! Say hello to the Ogre AlternaMyth Munzee!

As with the other AlternaMyths these Mythological Munzees are deployed on behalf of our HQ staff’s accounts, thus super rare. You’ll get 200 points for capping the Ogre. Owners of the host munzee will also earn double the points of the Ogre’s ferocious friend the Cyclops.

As the AlternaMyth to the Cyclops Mythological Munzee the Ogre’s hunger for jewels is only overcome by his thirst for battle!  Ogres are attracted to greenies, physical and virtual Jewel Munzees, as well as physical and virtual Clan Weapon Munzees*.

Ogres can be a bit tough to handle, but you might be able to trap one with a Munzee Magnet! You can also show your Ogre pride with a new decal sticker. You can find Magnets, decals stickers, Jewel Munzees and more in the online store! 

Capturing an Ogre will also count towards the Myth Collector badges so be sure to keep your eyes peeled for those ferocious fighters.
