MedZEEval Times MHQ Bash 6 Packages Revealed!

Get ready to sharpen your swords, dust off your jousting lance, and summon your squire, because the theme for MHQ Bash 6 will be MedZEEval Times! The 6th Annual MHQ Bash will be held from Friday, September 27 through Sunday, September 29.

Event Details

While we’re not ready to reveal all of the weekend details just yet, we would like to share what the Medieval Times dinner and show add-on will entail if you purchase A Night With Knights. Medieval Times provides the ultimate medieval immersion experience. This family-friendly dinner attraction draws inspiration from medieval tournaments and feasts. Guests enjoy a four-course meal (vegetarian options available) and are able to cheer for one of six competing knights as they engage in a tournament of jousting and fun.

The four-course meal will be included in the package, and it will consist of garlic bread, tomato bisque soup, roast chicken, buttered sweet corn, seasoned potatoes, dessert, coffee, and two non-alcoholic beverages. There will also be a full-service bar, gift shop, and Hall of Arts. And of course, in custom with medieval traditions, you will have to eat with your hands!

Families, please keep in mind that every person joining us this night will need to purchase the A Night With Knights add-on for each person who wishes to attend regardless of whether or not Munzee accounts are joined. Though Medieval Times tickets are more affordable for children if purchased directly from the website, we will not be able to guarantee that anyone will be able to sit with the group unless they order through our packages.

More information regarding complete event schedules will be released soon, but the format will be similar to previous years. There will be activities during registration Friday evening, Saturday morning, Saturday afternoon (WallaBash), Saturday evening (public event separate from ANWK), and Sunday morning. There will also be a wide variety of specials and badges to earn at each event, not to mention all of the munzees to capture in the McKinney area! We can’t wait to ride gallantly into the night atop a golden unicorn with you this fall! Okay, it might not be THAT awesome, but MedZEEval Times will still be pretty great! Stay tuned for more information!

There is a badge to be won at each event for the most retro 80s themed clothing, too. So dust off your leg warmers and ra-ra skirts, crimp your hair, polish your pixie boots, and above all else shine bright in something neon! If none of that made sense, that’s ok! Dress how you did in 1985! The event host will choose the winner, and you’ll also be featured on the blog. How rad is that?!

As always, there will be an Attendee Badge and plenty of extras! As our artists’ schedule starts to fill up, we will move to generic art options to avoid missing out on special event badges.

GeoWoodstock Event Details Are Here!

Do you know what week it is?! It’s GeoWoodstock week! That means there will be plenty of capping fun to be held in Fort Worth this weekend at GeoWoodstock XVII. The largest geocaching event in North America takes place this Saturday, but we’ve got Munzee events from Friday, May 24 to Sunday, May 26! Don’t forget, our Flat Friends will all be on the map to offer plenty of points for those who can’t make it out (worth double points on the 25th)!

GeoWoodstock may be all about geocaching, but Munzee is all about coexisting! So in between GeoWoodstock happenings, we have a few events Munzee and geocaching players alike can enjoy! Remember if you purchased a CoExist package, you can pick it up at Friday’s event, or Saturday morning if you can’t make it on Friday. The Emerald Spur

As those who attended GeoWoodstock last year might (or might not!) remember, Rob promised everyone who scanned the event indicator pin a spot in an Emerald Garden for THIS year’s event in Fort Worth, TX! The Spur Emerald Garden has now gone live, but we still have some open spots! You can purchase a spot in this garden in the Freeze Tag Online Store for $10. You’re limited to one per player, but you can buy one every 24 hours if it hasn’t filled up! Take advantage of this now because GeoWoodstock attendees will be sure to cap it!

Flat Friends Reminder!

Remember that all Flat Friends will be on the map for the entirety of GeoWoodstock weekend! That means you can cap all four types of Flats from May 24 at 00:01 MHQ time until May 27 at 23:59 MHQ time. Plus Flat Matt decreed that on May 25 from 00:01 to 23:59 MHQ time, ALL Flat Friends will be worth DOUBLE points on ALL flat activity to celebrate real Matt’s recent five year Munzee anniversary. California 8th Birthday Celebration Dates!

We’re giving you plenty of time to mark your calendars and book your flights, because we’re announcing the dates for the Munzee 8th Birthday California celebration earlier than last year! Hosted by members of the Freeze Tag office, the 8th birthday celebration of everyone’s favorite real world scavenger hunt will take place on Saturday, July 20 in Orange County, California.

April Events Update! Act Fast

The April Events announcement went out a couple of weeks ago, and we have been delighted with the response.

The calendar is filling fast, and so is Trish’s diary! There are still slots available for custom badges and icons but not for much longer. Please get orders and art requests in ASAP, and we will be moving to generic artwork requests only in the next week or so when Trish has run out of slots for custom work!

It’s Almost Time for Munzee Madness 8! Details, Sales and More!

It’s almost that time of the year again— Munzee Madness season! That’s right, Sunny California is gearing up for the longest running player run events of the year.

To celebrate the event, the entire California Freeze Tag office will be attending Munzee Madness 8! Freeze Tag will also be hosting their own event in conjunction with the Munzee Madness player sponsored events in order to provide double the fun! Even if you can’t make it out to California to attend the events in person, there are still ways to participate from home.

Munzee Madness Details

Mark your calendars and cancel your plans, because MM8 will take place from Friday, March 8 to Saturday, March 9. You can find the full Munzee Madness schedule at the end of the post. There will be a variety of events for all attendees to participate in!

Are you interested in meeting a portion of the team behind everyone’s favorite global scavenger hunt? The entire Freeze Tag California office will be in attendance, including Craig Holland (Cholland86), Mick Donahoo (fixitman), Mari Rann (Kirikat), and Tamara Sahagun (Raan). There will also be a dinner hosted by Freeze Tag on Saturday night in order to allow players more opportunity to interact with the people behind the scenes after a full day of MM8 Road Rally!

There will be a number of special event badges for players to earn throughout the weekend, as well as an abundance of munzees and specials to capture. No sneak peaks this time! If you want to see the new badge designs, you’ll have to earn them in person…

Virtual Garden Fun for All and Sales!

Whether you can attend the event in person or you’ll be celebrating virtually by playing the game at home, there are a variety of ways you can participate in MM8 regardless of location. We are excited to share the designs of four gardens that will surround the event, so that all players worldwide can earn some CapOn points. Choose from the Craig Park, Ode to 1849, Officer Down, or Ode to q22q17 to deploy in! You can access a listing of a number of Virtual Gardens in the area here.

Why limit yourself to deploying in one Garden? In celebration of MM8, we decided to release some special offers in the Freeze Tag Online Store. Previously, Virtual Trail Munzee Credits could only be purchased in packs of five that included five Virtual Munzees as well. Now, we are releasing individual Virtual Trail Munzee Credits that includes one Virtual Trail Credit and no Virtual Munzees!

Our Virtual collection will now include Temporary Virtuals, Virtual Trail Munzee Credits (multiple), and the Virtual Trail Munzee Credit (single). All three of these items will be 19 percent off through Monday, February 25 at 10:00 MHQ time. Deploying in one of these Virtual Gardens is a great way to support the events even if you can’t make it in person!

Have you never deployed in a Virtual Garden before? Don’t worry, we’ve made it easy for you! Check out this step-by-step tutorial to help build a Garden today. All you need to do is purchase some Virtuals, maybe a few Color Credits, and select a garden to start deploying in.

If you can make it out to Cali for the weekend, we’d love to see you! And if you can’t, make sure you join in on the fun virtually! Don’t forget you can host your own Munzee Events as well, and it sounds like April would be a good time to start.

These April Events Are No Joke!

Are you ready to have some fun with Munzee Events this April? We are excited to announce we are offering special packages for the whole of the month of April!

Please get your events on the calendar and let me know which package you’d like. Each one has a unique host badge:

The Joker – The Fool plus 20 virtuals – $50

For $20 extra you can add a little more fun to your event, too. We will code a special munzee in your event account with an extra April Fool’s Badge, and when capped it will give points ranging from 50 all the way down to a possible -5! Each player will also get a prize wheel credit, so not all is lost!

Follow the path with updated Trail Munzee points and more!

Four years ago we released Trail Munzees (after a string of bizarre videos) and now we’re excited to announce a big point and proximity* update for Trail Munzees, Virtual Trail Munzees and Event Trail Munzees! You can find the point breakdown for each type below, as well as some new Trail themed physical products as well. The point updates and new products are all NOW available!

Physical Trail Munzees will be worth many more points than when they were originally released! As you capture the various stops on the Trail Munzee the points you receive will increase as you progress.

Stops one and two are worth 50 points for Capture and owner CapOn.
Stops three and four are worth 100 points for Capture and owner CapOn.
Stop five is worth 300 points for Capture for completing the trail, and 300 points for owner CapOn for creating a good trail.

You will receive 50 points per deploy of a Trail Munzee, but your Trail will not become live until you deploy all five munzees to complete the trail.

We have also reduced the distance required between each stop of the Trail Munzee. Each of the munzees must be deployed within a 5 mile radius of the starting point. Each munzee must be deployed at least 500 ft (previously 1,000 ft) from other Trail Munzees.

Virtual Trail Munzees’ point system has also been updated from when they were originally released! As you cap the Virtual Trail the points you receive will increase as you progress.

Stop four is worth 60 points for capture and 15 for owner cap on.
Stop five is worth 75 points for capture for completing the virtual trail, and 30 points for owner cap on for creating a good virtual trail that players can complete.

If you choose to continue for stops 6-10 the points will be:

Stop six is worth 90 points for capture and 30 owner cap on.
Stop seven is worth 125 points for capture and 30 owner cap on.
Stop eight is worth 150 points for capture and 50 owner cap on.
Stop nine is worth 175 points for capture and 50 owner cap on.
Stop ten is worth 200 points for capture and 75 owner cap on.

You will receive 25 points per deploy of a virtual trail Munzee, but your Virtual Trail will not become live until you deploy at least five munzees.

We have also reduced the distance required between each stop of the Virtual Trail Munzee. Each of the munzees must be deployed within a 5 mile radius of the starting point. Each munzee must be deployed at least 500 ft (previously 1,000 ft) from other Virtual Trail Munzees.

Event Virtual Trails will work similarly to regular Virtual Trails. Since Event Trails are part of an event package there are no Deploy or CapOn points, but the Capture points have been updated to match the Virtual Trail Munzee.

These weatherproof tree tags are perfect for hiding your trails in plain sight. Each tag comes with a precoded Trail Munzee so you can easily deploy your trails as you go. These tag designs feature different munzee-themed tree species. We hear the Green Pin Pine (Greenius Munz Pinus) is beautiful this time of year! Each set will come with five randomly chosen tag designs for $6.25. This is a physical product and will include shipping.

Metal Trail Tags: $10 pack of 5 (normally $12.50)
These metal dog tags are ideal for hiding your trails long term. Each tag comes with a precoded Trail Munzee so you can easily deploy your trails as you go. The metal tags feature a different number on the front and the QR Code on the back, so players will know for sure they’re going in order. Be sure to bring a fastening device when you’re deploying these tags to trees, fences, and more! Each set comes with five individual tags for $12.50.
